Wayne Floyd, aka Eric "Socrates" Swanson, is the anti-hero of Graham Guest's novel 'Winter Park'. He has studied philosophy at University of Colorado, Rice University, and Dude Ranch Rodeo College and Penal Camp. He was convicted of the murders of Old George Williams in Winter Park and of John Henry "Doc" Holliday in West Texas. Floyd now does philosophy from death row at Huntsville State Prison. 'Definition' marks the culmination of his philosophy of lexicology.
