He thinks he deserves a second chance--but does she?
Ryan's never forgotten that first, sweet, innocent kiss. The way his insides curled up. The way his entire body came alive.
He thought they'd be together forever. But then, the siren call of the band took him away.
Fame. Fortune. Women throwing themselves at him.
But he never forgot her. She always held a place in his heart. Even if she did tell him to leave.
Becky didn't want to love him. Watching him walk away had been the hardest thing she'd ever done in her life. She'd picked up the shattered pieces of her heart and forged ahead--making a new life for herself--without him.
Then he came home. To bury his mother. Seeing him, alone by the side of the grave threatened to unravel her.
If she could just keep her distance--until he left--then she'd be okay.
But his mother had other ideas.
STROKE is book 3 of the Style Strike Rockstar romance series. It's a new adult steamy rockstar romance. It can be read as a standalone and it has a HEA.
No rockstars (or or keyboard players!) were harmed during the writing of this story!

Ryan “Griff” Griffin doesn’t start this story off on a happy note. But not every occasion is a happy one after all. Rebecca “Becky” Johnson is thinking about what could have been. The author has created a cute matchmaker. It will be interesting to see if she’s got the right touch for our couple. I realized early on that I have a series that I need to catch up on and a new author to discover.
This story is more than a Rockstar romance. Our author humanizes a member of a band. We see that they’re human just like us. That goes for feelings of happiness, sadness, and frustration. They love just like we do but they’re also in the public eye where you or I don’t have to worry about being under a microscope for the foreseeable future. It must be hard if you’re claustrophobic. Our author also shows the choices people have to make and not all are easy ones. I liked that she told the story in the first person. It must be hard getting into the mind of the character and speaking for them. But for us it gives us a better understanding of what the characters are feeling and thinking. And once I finished the book I had to wonder about Griff’s bandmates. What will I discover once I read their stories.
I was not compensated nor was I required to write a positive review. The opinions I have expressed are my own.
I loved Ryan’s story especially his relationship with his mum who is still looking after him even after her death. Ryan left the love of his life behind when he took off with his band but was never able to truly get over Becky. Becky stayed behind in their childhood village and still seen his mom regularly while starting up her own business.
Lives have change but now they are thrown back together again at Ryan’s mom’s funeral. There is no denying the connection they still have but nothing has changed since the time Ryan left; he is still with his band and Becky is still tied to the village. Is there any chance that Marion’s Will will help bring Ryan and Becky back together again? This was a quick read and had me giving kudos to their dog Xena.
I received this book as an ARC for a freely given and honest review.
I always wondered about Ryan’s story. Where was his HEA. When something happens and he finds himself seeing his girlfriend he left behind, their story was one I could not wait to see what happened. Their love was strong but was it enough. I really enjoyed finding out.
This is Ryan's story and I fell in love with him from page 1. He returns home to bury his mother and runs into the childhood sweetheart Rebecca (aka Becky). She tries hard to avoid him. She feels like he shattered her heart when he left to go on tour with his band. He thought he was setting them up for a great future.
The pieces of my heart that I'd worked so hard to stick back together were slowly becoming unglued. One tiny fragment at a time.
Clearly there is still a connection between these two. But I was so frustrated with Becky and her stubbornness! She frustrated me until the very end.
I should have known from the outset that I was never going to be able to compete with his keyboards.
And Ryan tries hard to get her to work things out....I wanted to slap her at one point.
Ryan didn't have the strength to break things off between us, that had been evident the first time around - so it was best that I got it over and done with now.
"I don't want to see you," I said sitting up properly, "you made it pretty clear last night that you don't want to see me, so what are you doing here?" I added, just to get my point home, "I should fire Nate for even letting you through the front gate."
Will Becky get over her stubbornness or will Ryan get fed up and give up?
Overall, this was a delightful series with great characters and story lines. I have to also add Nate and Xena were wonderful in this story as well. I highly recommend!
I voluntarily reviewed an arc of this book. “Stroke” is another really great book from Toni Kenyon. It’s a well written book with an addictive, engaging storyline that I couldn’t put down. The characters are great and I loved reading about them. Their hot, interaction and chemistry just flowed from chapter to chapter. It’s a very interesting, Entertaining, Must Read Romance
This is the third book in this series. It's about love lost and possible solutions to the problems. He is a big star in a rock band. He plays the key board. When he left with the band he left her behind. Now his mom has died and he must go back to clear out the house. But his mom has left a will that includes his ex. How they are able to get along is this story.
But it feels so rushed and predictable. I can't stand Becky. She is selfish. I wasn't sure if he stayed with the band the way it was going. The first book is my favorite but never found out what they had baby wise. I don't get the bonus because they won't delete from my kindle. It would have been nice to see more story and less sex.
Ronin created two very stubborn characters in this one. Ryan and Becky the ever so stubborn two. I was glad to see that Becky pulled her head out and went to Ryan and fixed it. That love should last forever.
So glad to see the band still playing but obviously life is changing. I will miss seeing what happens to them in the future as this all just drops off.
Ryan is back in his hometown for his mother's funeral. last time he was in town was the day Becky left him because he choose his music career. seeing her agin brings strong feelings back but Becky wants nothing to do with him. But his mother's will is forcing them to communicate and spend time together. can he win her back or is it to late ? A sweet romance about true love never forgotten. it had it all. it was also sad and I hoped for the best. I loved it
