I love omega stories because it allows two men to conceive without the need for a female surrogate, and then authors like this blow that concept up by introducing female omegas. Regular females are already 'omegas' since they can already have children. This nonsensical inclusion defeats the entire idea of omegas. Consider a female 'alpha' with a male 'omega:' who bears the child? It must be the male, right, since as an omega, childbearing would be his trope-typical instinct and biological imperative? How does the female 'alpha' impregnate him? Does she grow a penis? As an omegaverse fan, I can obviously take a fair amount of fiction at face value, but recently some authors have been taking the omega concept to extremely ridiculous and, yes, nonsensical places, and it needs to stop.

Summary:
I loved the idea of Lance portraying a pirate for has job, but when you added going into heat from an alpha and all bets were off. Adrian is used to having the best in life and everyone catering to his every wish because of his fame, but he received a rude awakening from Lance. While their meeting may has put Lance into heat, the fireworks between them were more went way beyond that. Their initial meeting may have left Lance in heat, but he wasn't too thrilled with Adrian's uppity attitude that he was better than everyone else that is until Lance met his daughter Angelica who the integrating on her own. The fun of playing pirates on the sea was fun to watch, but Adrian's dislike of the whole experience was hysterical. The on and off again relationship between Adrian and Lance was sad to see as Lance's growing feelings was at odds with Adrian's cool demeanor.

I really enjoyed this story. The only thing I wish is that the time after they left the ship had more retail. It left the reader wondering what else had happened that lead to the conclusion of the story. The fun of the high seas and all of the complications between Lance and Adrian brought the story to life for the reader.

The basic premise of this story of staff member and passenger hitting it off on a cruise was fine. It just did not live up to its potential. So here's my take on the pros and cons:

Pros

1 and 2: Characters "Jolly Jack" Lance and Angelica. Crew member Lance seemed upbeat, great with kids, and easy to love. And he did his best to understand the other hero, Adrian, and give Adrian the space he needed to decide what he really wanted out of their attraction. Lance has a bit of a self-esteem issue when dealing with Adrian and that was believable, with a good backstory to explain it. Angelica, as a skeptical ten year old, was believable and added some humor and heart to the story.

3: Last 25 percent of the story. It flowed better and had a warm, satisfying conclusion.

Cons

1: Character of Adrian. He came off as a snooty jerk through the first half and more of the story. Because we never got his POV, his erratic behavior was off-putting and his apologies did not make up for it.

2: Using excerpts pulled from Adrian's novel. Most of these just confused me and interrupted the flow of the action.

3: The pirate cruise itself. The concept of parents putting their lives in hiatus to take their kids on a pirate cruise that lasts months? Who would do that? The whole description of cruise activities; crewman Lance's suite (how does he rate roomier accommodations than most paying passengers get on a cruiseship?); the ease with which Lance gets days off duty: none of it made sense.

I've read a number of books authored or co-authored by Noah Harris. Most were action and drama driven, well-written and full of paranormal fantasy, action, danger, chemistry and passion. IMO, this was not as good.

I read a complimentary advance copy of the book; this is my voluntary and honest review.

Troy Hunter & Noah Harris come out with another wonderful book. I loved Lance who works as a fake pirate on a cruise pirate ship made especial to entertain children and their parents. He’s a fun loving character with a quick wit. I grew to love Adrian the arrogant, stuck-up but gorgeous writer who had lost his omega a year ago. He’s on the cruise for his daughter and her nanny comes along also.

Not only is Adrian a writer, but had received a Pulitzer award for one of his novels beside many other literature awards for some of his other writings; Adrian was very wealthy.

What brought the two together was the strong Alpha caused Lance, an omega, to go into heat and Lance finally gave in to have sex with the arrogant man to take away his heat symptoms. Even though Adrian was a strong-headed Alpha and insulted Lance most of the time, I loved Lance’s comebacks, plus he disagreed when Adrian tried to point out the meanings within his book.

Troy Hunter didn’t drag out the dislike between the two men and I liked the way he subtly brought Adrian around to like Lance a lot, but would have liked to had more feeling from the big guy, and, of course, there were parts I wanted to slap Adrian upside his head for his insensitive nature.

I couldn’t put the book down once I started it and found it highly entertaining along with many words of wisdom coming from Lance. I am voluntarily leaving an honest and unbiased review.

This was a cute story that had no danger in it so it was relaxing to read. There definitely is angst in abundance as Lance "Jolly Jack" struggles with his sudden attraction to Adrian one of the passengers on board the pirate ship. He is there with his daughter trying to "relate" to her after her mother dies. Lance goes into heat just in the first contact with Adrian. Lance loves kids and is a sweet person, but Adrian is a serious jerk most of the way through the book. He is a bitter man who is grieving over his wife. He has written a book that has a unhappy ending and too many excerpts of this book later, we reach an HEA for the two men. The book involves Mpreg and a very smart little girl.

This is a sweet, interesting book and I really enjoyed reading it. This book is about: a sweet fun-loving omega (Lance aka Jolly Jack) who loves pretending to be a pirate and he is content putting smiles on children's faces, he meets a arrogant, grieving alpha (Adrian) who comes on board with his daughter (Angelica) Adrian comes face to face with Lance and receives a rude awakening and now the games begin. What you will find in this book is: drama, humor, arrogance, rudeness, attractions, defiance, anger, dislike, Mpreg, surprises, lust, passion, love and erotic scenes. The characters are extremely likeable. The story-line and plot is well-thought out and written, the pace is steady and not rushed. I would recommend this book to people who like to read a M/M romance with a HEA.

1 person point of view

This was a OK story but I really don’t enjoy 1 person point of view books. I would have really like to know Adrien’s thoughts and why he was such a jerk at times. It was explained from Lance’s point of view and it just made for long boring read at times. It also had to many “excerpts” from Adrian’s book trying to explain Adrian’s actions. Again, just made the book too long and more boring than necessary. Glad it was a kindle free read.

MM. Omega Lance doesn't have the job he wants, but he is happy working with the children. Alpha Adrian is adjusting to his new reality and wants to use Lance as a distraction. Adrian doesn't know what he wants, lets his grief stop him from making decisions, and treats Lance terribly. I did not understand why the excepts from Adrian's book were in the story. A cute and sweet story of a fun-loving omega and a grieving alpha. Good storyline that is well written and flows smoothly at a good pace. Lance plays a pirate on a ship and meets Adrian while Adrian is on the ship with his daughter. Their first meeting left Lance in heat but neither one was too thrilled with the other. But anything can happen on the high seas!!

This was a cute story. I feel like the characters were pretty good individually but seemed to lack chemistry together. However, I love the alpha/omega pairing, it's one of my favorite tropes.
