Born a brat, into an ‘intellectual’ family, I've always made my own path. Grew-up all over India; explored the globe, here and there.
Worked my way up the corporate ladder in Sales & Tech, in India and London (read selling, begging, ass licking, posing smart, talking sense…sigh)
And One Fine Day, after 13 amazing years, I found myself sitting in an airport lounge, feeling chuffed about my Platinum Card and desperately trying not to eye the ‘free’ treats beckoning to me from the non-descript trays of poison, and I knew it…in that one moment. I wanted more, more different, yet more challenging, way more rewarding…and if that meant giving up my platinum card, then so be it.
And so I jumped off the cliff – into a crazy, intense, adrenalin-pumping free-fall called ‘Entrepreneurship’; yes I did get promoted from Director to CEO – often that stood for Chai & Entertainment Officer, but the most humbling experience of my life also went on to be the most satisfying, having built from scratch India’s 1st premium-wear fashion e-commerce platform.
But all good things come to an end, and when I anchored this ship back into the sleepy dock, I spent the next one month nursing my shattered dreams. Till one day, I stopped. Stopped it all. To simply Come Undone…and let my laidback-inner-child guide my over-achiever-brain.
And it’s then, that it happened – I wrote.
…and wrote…and wrote. Till Another Fine Day, emerged My Book.
If you’ve just finished reading it, Thank You!
If you’re browsing and contemplating…give it a shot will ya?
..hopefully it will help you in Finding Your G-Spot!

How often do you come across a self-help book written by an Indian author?
And a pretty damn good one for that matter!
Well, "Finding your G-spot" by Geetika Saigal is all about rediscovering yourself and finding the real you! About realigning your thoughts and priorities in life. About finding what is worth giving your precious time and energy, worth struggling for and in the quest finding the real meaning of one's life.
In the words of the author, finding that 'sweet' spot of life.
📍
Contrary to most of the other self-help books, this one doesn't talk about finding the 'happiness' in life or trying to achieve peace.
What it does talk about is how hard life is, how one should not expect life to be devoid of any struggles. But what are the things, goals, and dreams worth struggling for? The meaningless daily race that we run for the next promotion, the next car, the next big house? Or something within us that sparks that fire and makes one go that extra mile to achieve something that defines your true self!
📍
Also, how the book talks about living a truly fulfilling life, by cutting off or minimizing the negative energy, by rising above one's fears of failure, by being your true unapologetic self is truly inspiring!
📍
By including personal experience and stories, with a dash of wit and humor, the author preaches in simple yet engaging words the importance of finding you.
One can easily be hooked and feel connected with the contents of the book.
Do pick it up if you are on the lookout for a good self-help book.

25th Book of 2018

Quote from the Book I Liked - 'Happiness is momentary, fleeting and transient, but ‘Meaning’ abides.'(Page xxvi)

Rating - 2.5 Stars

Plot Summary - The Probability of your parents’ meeting: one in a million. The Chance that they had you and not another genetic version of you: one in 4 million billion. (yeah, that’s a number too!) The Number of moments you have lived (knowing that any of us could pop-off any moment): ~9.4 million in our lifetime.

Do you not then deserve to lead a miraculous life?

A life that you know is meaningful to you, that doesn’t leave you feeling like you are simply running, not knowing where to and why so. So go on, give yourself and your life the best shot.
How?

This book is written for all of us, whether you’re just starting out your life or wishing to change it.

About The Book - The kind of self-help book that makes you Question yourself, your motives and your current life situations which indeed helps you improve your lifestyle and guides you to have a meaningful life.

The quirky quotes here and there makes the reader feel positive about every situation and helps one get them on their feet. The book is not just for the younger generation, it is indeed for whosoever needs some positive read. Even the author has crossed her forties gives a glimpse of her life throughout the book which won’t make you feel guilty about the questions that keep ringing in your heads like –

‘What am I doing with my life?’,

‘What would I have done if things were a bit different?’

and all such sort off.

In this book, you’ll get 16 ‘Do it Yourself sections which will help you indulge in this book in a much greater way. Thus helping you totally understand what the author wants to convey and will guide you in a much better way.

Why I gave it just 2.5 Stars, you would ask?

It’s just simply that I didn’t felt connected to this book which is totally my perspective. I felt it be a bit too exaggerated and non-guiding for me. All that’s written is just everything you are told by several thousand people you meet in your life just in a fancy way but with a creative and catchy title. Alas, this is my opinion and will vary to a great extent from a reader to reader.

Conclusion - A good self-help book that lets you self-evaluate and helps you move your lazy a**.

Firstly, I loved the title of the book, it makes me think about what that book will be. It’s a book, that everyone must read. It’s all about finding yourself, trusting yourself. It explains each and everything very well, in a crisp and easy manner. There are many wonderful quotes, lines that can change one’s life. Start reading from any page, and you will connect with the book. The author explains each and every chapter in a different manner. I loved the title each chapter has. solve the riddle, do not fear ‘fear’, the mystic pizza, leave the lights on are my favourite chapters. It has its own depth and is so meaningful. you’ll enjoy each and every page.

The language used by the author is simple and easy. it’s fun to read such self-help book. The letter to yourself in the end and the letter to the lady in your life is the best part of the book. The pace and flow of the book are also smooth. It’s just a perfect self-help book, to find yourself. It has 20 chapters which can create wonders in one’s life. Another thing that I liked about the book is the presentation. The font, the layout, the way this book is designed is wonderful. Also the blurb is amazing. I enjoyed reading this book. it’s a short and quick read.

Overall, It’s a book that everyone must read.

I have read my fair share of motivational books but eh, the motivation was only short-lived. I have a love-hate relationship with non-fiction as a whole anyway.

But I took my chances with Geetika Saigal’s Finding Your G-Spot in Life and I wasn’t disappointed. Steering away from the conventional ways of writing a self-help book, Geetika has written about her own life experiences and she has given all the details from her childhood to adulthood. This book talks about how Geetika made a decision of living a miraculous life despite all the obstacles and the difficulties she had to face in her life.

Finding Your G-spot in Life isn’t preachy nor is it a book where the author is “telling” you to do a list of things to make your life more meaningful. Geetika shows how it’s done.

The book is divided into four parts and each chapter comes with a ‘Do-It-Yourself’ exercise. In the first part, I got to see so much of Geetika’s vulnerability and later on I could see her growing and becoming stronger in each phase of her life. The Do-It-Yourself chapters would help us analyse who we are and what’s our purpose in life but they are presented in a very informal way.

The language is very simple and the author has approached the narrative in a very friendly way. She jokes, quotes some of her thoughts which are very relatable but never really advices the readers what they should do and that’s what I felt was the biggest plus point of the book. She shows us how to do it and what could be done to make our life more meaningful.

The title of the book is very quirky but it fits perfectly with the content and the theme of the book. The writing style is very casual and it felt as if I am listening to a friend talking to me.

I really loved this book given that I had decided to not read any more self-help books. This 190 something pages left such a positive impact on me than any other books that I have read of this genre. There were a few errors here and there but they can be easily overlooked.

I am so happy that I finally read this book. I delayed reading it for so long because of the genre but finally I read it and boy, was it good!

If you are someone like me who doesn’t like self-help books or you think that they have got the same advices written over them, I recommend you to pick this book. You won’t be disappointed.

My Review :

I got this book as a part of an influencer program. When they gave this book to me I cringed. Again a self help book, which will say do this, do that blah blah blah…

But I was wrong. This book is like a workbook for us. At the end of chapters, the author has given DIY taks. And it makes me feel like I'm working on a workbook. I loved that shower power DIY especially.

This book is divided into 4 parts and each part focuses on different concepts. I liked the way the author narrated her stories, experiences and other things.

The language of the book is pretty simple and easy to understand. This book touches various situations which we all would've faced. I agreed with the author in many places. I felt like chatting with a friend after a long time.

And as a feminist, I like the way she talks about the status of women in this society. It is truly the icing on the cake of this book according to me. That particular chapter talks about how a present day woman is a super woman.

Apart from these, there are many things I liked in this book. From this book, I learned,

How to be 'me’. Without guilt and shame how I can embrace myself and love myself.

How to revamp my life!

How to declutter my mind and hear my inner voice!

How to embrace my failures!

What to do when I get fear!

How to find my passion!

How to challenge my mind everyday!

And how I can evolve into me. Without the pollution of others how I can evolve into me.

And coming to the negative part,

I didn't like the different sizes of fonts used in the book! It was quite distracting and it made me to skip some parts!

At certain places, I couldn't connect with the writing style of the author!

After second part, I felt the book started to drag.

That's all I can think for the negative points of the book!

And I'm really glad that I got this book in my early twenties! I'll definitely put to use whatever I have learnt from this book!

My Rating : 3.8/5

Would I recommend this book?

Well, it's a beautiful piece of work. The author has woven beads from her life into this book quite intelligently and even sarcastically to some extent, to convey the simple yet profound messages.

The way she has talked about women empowerment towards the end of the book is something that has touched my heart.

I also like her approach towards time as an expiring entity as a matter of fact, which she had connected really well with purpose and meaning in life.

Passion has been discussed beautifully as well. One statement which I like the most is ' What shit would I willingly and happily take shit for?'.

And my most favourite part of the whole book is 'An Open Letter from Me to Myself' ,where she describes herself so humanely. This particular part is so relatable !!! It almost gives a new perspective to how we should look at ourselves. That we are much more than just the degrees and the labels that society has given us.

Last, but not the least, she has talked beautifully about silence. About the soul and how it speaks to us in silence.

I thoroughly enjoyed this book and I would recommend it to anyone who's into some soul-searching.

" Knowledge of the 'WHY' of your life gives clarity and strength to get through the 'HOW' "

Have you ever pondered over the thought that Who are you? What exactly is your purpose/aim in life? What defines you ?

" Let your soul be your sail, let it steer your life along its rightful journey."

If no, then you definitely need to pick up and read this book. This book will let you explore your inner self and make you realize your true worth. You'll definitely embark on a new journey after reading it. Though it is a self help book, the author has explained each and everything in such a fun manner. The chapters are engaging - each connected  to a story which is so relatable in our day to day lives. It is not like a typical self help book but is unique in its own way. The author tries to connect with the reader and freshen ups one's mind by letting the reader explore him/herself by doing some fun activities.

" Expand your world - What you don't see, you can't know; what you don't know, you can never be."

The author has included experiences and random events from her life. So, I was able to relate my own miseries with the author. Rather than writing all those common stuff like read books, exercise , spend time with family etc etc , the book focuses on the main issue i.e. finding YOU. The book is divided in to 4 parts each part containing 20 chapters. These chapters contains DIfY ( Do It for Yourself ) activities which is an amazing concept. While reading the book you'll definitely start finding time for yourself and will start seeing everything around you with a new vision.

" Be true to yourself, not a wannabe to the world."

Each chapter contains eye catching quotes that you'll love. The quotes doesn't let the reader get bored. Though it was my first try at reading a self help book, I absolutely enjoyed reading this one. I was able to connect myself with the author and I was actually hooked to the book. It's a short read and an absolute beauty. The language is easy and simple and the book is well paced too.

" I am awake, I am aware,

I am free, as ready as can be.

Watch out dear world,

Here comes the real me."

If you haven't tried any self help book yet, then you must pick this one up and give it a try.

My Review : If you have been following me on my Bookstagram account, you must have already noticed that I rarely read self-help books, let alone review them.

But when I was contacted by the author for a honest review of this book, I couldn't say no because of the title(quiet catchy, right)

And I assure you the book surprised me quite a lot. The author with her flamboyant and raw writing style definitely impressed me. She authors humorous self help book with her own personal experiences that makes the 200 page journey all the more interesting.

If I am being honest, I struggled through the initial 20 pages or so(maybe because nonfic is not really my genre)but as the book proceeded the quality of the writing and all the other thoughts of the writer hit me. I was definitely able to relate to her 10 on 10.

A quick and easy read that really enforces us to think about our true motto in life. Where do we lack in? And what can be the source of our real happiness? This book opens a portal to all these complicated questions and many more.

As I already mentioned, the humor of the author was a definite standpoint of the book. Most of the times I felt as if I was reading a blog instead of a book and that definitely kept me hooked.

The "Do-it-yourself" exercises are also a great addition and if you ever pick up this book please I urge you donot skip it. I can definitely say that they are a helpful lot.

Rather than being a book that is written to bring a drastic change in life all at once, this is written keeping in attention the minute details and how to enrich a better life step by step.

“Finding Your G-Spot In Life” is the first self help book I have read. To be honest, I don’t think I will need to read another one.
This debut novel by Geetika Saigal is matter-of-fact, relatable, funny and sometimes even downright rude. But it does it’s job. It holds a mirror up for you and shows you the real you. Without the facade, without the airs you put on for society.
Once you are aware of your true self, this book very thought provokingly and in simple words encourages you to be a better version of yourself.
The book is crisply written with no unnecessary words. The chapters are meaningfully divided and creatively named. The different fonts for the hard hitting thoughts make it easier to read a second time. I know this because that is exactly what I did. As soon as I finished it, turned it back to the first page and read it again.
Simply put, this book is a keeper. I’m not going to let this book go wherever I go from here. It’s going to be on every bookshelf I own. I am going to recommend it to as many people as I can because everyone should hear what Ms. Saigal has to say. What a debut. 👍🏼

Today life has become an impossible rat race.. everyone is running, trying to beat the others, often not even knowing what they are running after. It is a chaos of clueless souls. Even in the midst of that, sometimes.. though rarely, we contemplate, think about what we really want.. only to end the reverie without a proper response. We are confused.. after all.. there are so many options when you look around, but only so many when we think of what we can actually do.

By some miracle even if we decide something, it is more often that not driven by the perks of it, blatantly ignoring the pain or struggle that comes along.

What are you looking for in life? Is it power, happiness, money, spirituality, meaningfulness? I mean you.. not what others want from you or you think would be nice to do for the sake of someone else.. How to come out of this race and find out your purpose in life.. as in why were you born and why do you exist among the billions?

I have these same question in my mind all the time.. and thus am glad that I picked up this book! It may be weird but the title of the book makes perfect sense when you plod through it till the end. The author uses her personal experiences and general settings as well to make her points clear. The personal touch is very helpful as I didn’t feel that these are just some tales when some seemingly impossible stories were put up..
What I really really liked about the book was the funny yet strong tone of the author. I honestly had not expected so much fun in a non-fiction self-help book.. two phrases which seem synonymous to boring and monotonous to people! The light yet no non-sense tone is what sets this book apart. That’s not all, the chapters are almost always followed up by Do-It Yourself exercises which take the words in the chapters a step ahead.
Given the tone of the book, it may be a temptation to read it all at one go but it is best to go slow with this one.. digesting each chapter’s content as you go..
Recommended to everyone! This book is a treat you shouldn’t miss out on! Maybe after reading the book you’ll be like:

Have a dream. Better still......... have a plan

Lets not get confused by title of the book Finding your G spot in Life, it is a pure-self help book in which author has shared her journey, experience and learning which are more or less common in life of each of us. Here author is trying to help us find that "sweet" spot of our life which may lead to a meaningful and happy life. Author has kept the reader involved with the book through different DIfY.

The book is broadly divided into four parts, all four parts discuss about different phases of making of a meaningful life from exploring ourselves to minimizing negative energy around us to overcoming our fear to finally making a move.

Through out the book, author is in conversation with the reader through sharing her experience, responding to the queries arising in the brain of reader and giving assignments (Do it for yourself) to reader to explore within. Few readers may get irritated by these DIfY but if a reader does all the DIfYs honestly, he/she will love it.

In second half, this book is slow at few places. Also one chapter is based on the struggle of ladies (may be it is because the author has told the story from her angle) which may seem feminist to some people.

Language is an aspect of every book which I feel very important. Author has kept the language simple and understandable which is very good. Also author has used the one-liners very beautifully and used different font for those. There are very few editing mistakes which do not make any impact on the book.

Lines I loved: I am imperfect, and though I strive to become a better version of me, I keep my source code intact. Yes, I live with proud, at peace with my uniqueness. I do not try to change myself, I simply try to change my thoughts. I know what made me who I am, I've faced my demons, I've come out of the battles alive my head held high.

Overall, this is an engaging book and someone who engage with it and its DIfY exercises, he/she will love it. Kudos to the author for writing a self-help book in a different style

Those who buy the book just by looking at its title, may be sad.

My take on the book:

"It's time to make time work for you;

Take charge of your time for a fulfilling life."

-Geetika Saigal, Finding Your G Spot

Firstly let me tell you all, that self help books are one of my favorite genres.

I have a read a lot of self help books till now. But trust me, this one is very different. So even if you are one of those who is not fond of non-fiction and self help books, YOU MUST READ THIS!!

EVERYONE MUST READ THIS BOOK!

Have you ever wondered what is the meaning of life, what is your purpose, have you ever felt that you can feel the world around you but cannot connect with it?

This book will answer many of your questions. Also with DIY (Do it Yourself) exercises at the end of each chapter, the author has given practical solutions to many day to day questions.

This book is all about trusting yourself and finding a new meaningful way to live this beautiful life that you are blessed with.

Special mentions:

1. Title of the book is very interesting and intriguing. The blurb is very beautifully written. After reading the title and blurb of this book I knew I wanted to read this.

2. Layout and presentation of the book is amazing. All the thoughts are put forward in a very organised and beautiful way. This book is going to be one of my treasures for lifetime.

3. Quotes at the beginning of each chapter and the names of the chapter are so thoughtfully chosen and apt.❤

4. The language of the book is very simple and easy and the book flows smoothly. You will easily connect with the book.

5. The best part about the book is the Do it Yourself exercises. I loved them.

“Let go of the air in your packet of chips.”

Metaphorically, of course!

You are probably reading this review because of its title. Well, I read this book because of it too. I don’t read self help books but this one in particular grabbed my interest. Not just the title, the whole book is full of quotes which are interesting, positive and absolutely relatable.

Writing Style

This is a debut book; but despite the fact, the author has very pleasantly conveyed her message. This book has a friendly tone to it, where it seems like that the author is having a conversation with you, which makes you understand better and to relate to her life.

At every instance, there are sentences which are written in a bigger text for emphasis. They are wonderful words, although I felt that the manner of emphasis could be different.

Stories of life

This book not only tries to bring out the real you by giving you a sense of motivation, but the author also shares various instances from her life, which was interesting and admirable. To know that someone else might be going through the same things as you make you feel better in life and that is what this book is all about. In the end, it just makes you feel good about yourself.

Do-it-for-yourself

Throughout the book, the author has provided work sheets. Some simple tasks, to find yourself amidst this busy life, to look for your passion, of what you desire. It was an interesting concept for things you know but never said it out loud.

Final Thoughts

If you’re looking for some positivity, someone to tell you it’s okay to be yourself or if you’re looking for something to make you happy in life, you should definitely read this book.

I wasn’t looking for any of these things but despite that, after reading this book, I feel happy and content with myself. May be I discovered a little more about me, and found a little more respect for others.

So pick up this book if you feel you need it, or the title intrigues you, anyway I hope this book helps you and brings motivation in your life.

“When you give your ‘time’ a ‘purpose’… You’re giving your life ‘meaning’.”
Cutting the crap, I would directly affirm that this book is a compelling self-help book that I would definitely recommend.
Of all the voluminous self-help books out there, this one is only around two hundred pages which is really a quick read. Divided into four parts with twenty chapters, it’s an impressive and an easy breezy read.
Starting off with the self-interrogation ‘Who Am I?’ and ending up with being CEO of our own life. The book gives a great ride to acknowledge our own beliefs and truths which are restricting us in finding our g spot.
With conversational writing style, the author has been interactive throughout the book which was very well engaging. It was so effortless to connect with all the chapters.
The book includes sixteen “Do-It-for-Yourself’ to evaluate our life’s decisions and understanding of it. And on these, you would surely enjoy putting your hands on.
It’s a compelling read.
“Live a ‘What Next?’ Not a ‘What If?’ kinda life.”

Why to read this book
If you’re tired of reading lots of self help books with no real interest, try out this one because it will not disappoint you. Besides, it will keep you hooked.
Well, you should read this book if you’re in look out to find your G spot. And what is this term G Spot? Read and Know Yourself!

A self-help book that will help you in re-discovering your real self, re-aligning your thoughts and revamping your life.

It tells you to not just run toward a happy life but to live a meaningful one as well. By sharing some important incidents of her life on the very 1st page , author keeps you hooked to the book till its end.
The best part about the book is how relatable it is to our lives. There are numerous situation and thoughts where you go like “Damn, this is soo me". The other great thing about the book is its writing style . It is very outspoken which is missing in other self help books I have read so far. While reading , you feel that a friend is giving you some “real talk". At the same time , it gives you some awesome quotes as well.

At the end of every chapter, there is a ‘Do it Yourself' exercise that is not only easy and practical but also thought provoking.
I will totally recommend it to self-help book lovers . For the beginner readers or for anyone who has never read a self help book and is looking for one, it will be a gem.

It was the book title that instantly grabbed my attention. Then it was the book blurb that dragged me further into it. This book made its way to my hands only because the preface of the book rattled my mind and I wanted to know more about the author. Sadly, the more I read the book, the more I lost interest in it. Now I'm not sure what annoyed me more the lack of novelty in content or the author frequently addressing herself in third person. Some random experiences mentioned in the book made no sense and felt more like a diary entry than an actual event to learn from. But I will not deny that I liked the author's writing. If I ignore the unnecessary cuss words and forced endearments then the book is quite well-written.

I would be more interested in reading the author's work of fiction than a motivational book.

First of all, let me clarify that I received a free copy of this book from @thebookoholics and this is a totally unbiased review. 'Finding Your G-Spot in Life' by @gstorytime is not your typical self help book that goes on to preach you about life, spirituality or some higher power working up there.
This one is a simple, no nonsense account of how to bring only little changes in our lives and see them making huge difference. It starts off with the author's experience with her disease that made her 'special' and after that Geetika Saigal leaves no stones unturned to make you feel special as well.
Talking about the writing style, she keeps the reader enchanted with her magic and despite being a self help book, this never gets boring.
The unique concept of DIY pages is also something that I found really interesting. Overall, for all those who are feeling low, pick up this book and you will find your feel good factor. Correction, Your G-Spot😉

Chill out. It's not what you think.

The very few first pages of the book makes one amiable to the author because of the honest stories, and as you dive deeper the connection does not break and the words just sway with you.

'Force the important, manage the urgent' is one of my favourite lines from the book. As you read through, you kind of articulate, ' How is it so relatable?', 'Am I so generic?', and to answer that, yes we are.

We are the same with our innate needs but not with our choices, we are united with our hard work but our dreams are not the same.
But yes, at one point you would find yourself thinking, 'isn't this too trivial?'. Well, that's what I thought.

You were there, You are here, You will be.

But why are you not happy? The answer to this contemplating question is what we are looking for when we are trekking the hugest mountain, running the longest marathons, loving the ethereal night skies and when we are trying to meditate our way through life. I think that's what she tried to say. Yeah, that does not make up for the 186 pages she penned down but that's the gist.

Change is inevitable. If there is no change, we would have been unimaginably pathetic. Because duh, we don't crave for the most monogamous life whatsoever.

The words hit you, like a snake's pang living up to the genre of 'self-help', it makes you ponder that everything you want to become, you will, but the wind won't take you there nor will it show you the way, only 'You' need to know which way to walk, what makes you happy and where you're satiating certainty exists. And for that, working hard, knowing what to mark as 'now' and what as 'right now' should be sculpted in the convolutions of your brain.

And what if you don't know anything, the author has an answer for that too.
Just 'want' something, if we can 'want' then we can/will/should be ready to take the 'shit' that comes with it too.

A 21 year old like me strolling through this book makes me think how much of gin-tonic relationship I still need to have with life and how much of experience I still have to gain and how little of the world I know of. But it's not overwhelming nor does it makes you want to patronize yourself, the author tells you to be a 'doer' and that lingers in your mind and the hunger to do more shoots up.

..

If you do feel the same way, I think Geetika Saigal did her job right.
The book is very friendly faced, telling you stuff you&I can relate to, with stupendous amount of activities using only mere notepads and your aggrandizing minds.

Life can be appalling and appeasing, it can be beguiling and browbeaten or it can bleak and bonhomie.
Well, it can be acceptably something.Oh, but What do I know of your life, right?
You'll figure it out, but this book can give it's stronger arm to you. Check it out, it's short and worth your read!

Do you guys like reading self-help?

If “Yes”, then reading the whole review does make sense and if it’s a “No”, then you should give ‘Finding your G-Spot by Geetika Saigal’ a go because trust me it is not a conventional self-help book that you so hate reading!

I know, most of you don’t like to read self-help because you think they’re boring or because of same old messages it holds, i.e., Read Books, Exercise, Work hard, be patient etcetera etcetera. But this is the best thing about this book. It is a refreshing, witty and a very well thought after an easy read.

The author tries to stay away from the conventional approach of motivation and you-have-to-read-a-500-pages-book if you want to bring change in your life.
Nah! Nothing like that.
Constituting of 4 Parts and 20 chapters, “Finding your G spot in Life” is about Geetika’s own thought-provoking extensive experiences of life. She’s shown us that vulnerability is not a weakness but it is your strength in disguise. Fear is not a bad and weak feeling. It doesn’t define us, but how we respond to it, is the defining point.

The question is not “Are you fearless?’ The question rather is, ‘What do you do when in Fear?

The book puts you in retrospective, you’ll find yourself staring at the wall for hours and thinking about your life, or at some point laughing your heart out while reading it. The Author successfully connects to the reader in a very personal way with her witty, fast-paced writing and beautiful Forget-me-not quotes for you to fall instantly in love with. At the end of every chapter, there are Do-It-Yourself questionnaires for self-evaluation and retrospection and this makes the book more fun to read.

I loved and most related to ‘The Shower Power’.
“When you clear the clutter, the noises cease, the voices fade away; all you hear then is you.”
My ‘Mantra’ in life, has always been to take a long dive in the shower, whenever I felt the need to drown out the unwanted voices cluttering my head. And when you emerge from the Shower, you realize “The world has not changed, YOU have”

I must say you had me at ‘Preface’ henceforth I devoured the book like a hungry child, starved for days. The beginning filled with true & beautiful touching emotions and ended on a light note with humor and reality leaving you to introspect

“Maybe, it is not about the light at the end of the tunnel, but the lights we light as we journey through the tunnel.”

I’ve so much more to share about this lovely book and how inspiring this author has been.

“Maybe what you want isn’t what you want, you just enjoy wanting it.”

Highly recommended this book
I give it 4.5/5 stars

This book is written for all of us, whether you're just starting out your life or wishing to change it.
My review:
For being the second self-help book I’ve ever read, Finding your G-spot, sure was an unexpected joy and delight.
Firstly, I really love the way of writing the author has adopted. At times however, I did feel like it has been influenced from another book called Man’s Search for Meaning. The language was quite simple and therefore very easy to understand. Again however, I feel that there could have been a more polishing possible regarding the editing. Moreover, the anecdotes the author as put in, makes it very relatable for the reader. The letters and quotes made the entire experience very wholesome.
The book is about 200 pages long- very short when you actually get down to read it, because you simply fly through the pages. The compartmentalization into the four parts was also done very methodically for a person who seeks to know more about himself. There are also sixteen “Do-It-for-Yourself’ sections that will surely help one to know and discover more about himself as they are very hands-on and compel the reader to introspect. Self-evaluation is something that you will be forced to do in this book and all for the better I believe- it will prove quite fruitful in a person’s self-discovery.
Verdict:
This is truly a self-help book unlike any other and for the help it has given me in my life as well, I rate it a 4/5 stars and would definitely recommend all to pick it up as well.

This book is called 'Finding Your G-Spot in Life' but I would say it missed the target by miles. I was never really a fan of self-help books and this one couldn't do much to change it.

This is solely my opinion my but I feel when somebody chooses such a generic topic to write a book upon, the challenge to bring up something new and interesting increases several notches high. It feels like Geetika summarised all the Motivational talks available on YouTube and presented in the form of a capsule to be swallowed by the ones in need of it but who do not have enough time to sit & binge on them.

When I compare this book with the ones in the same league, it sounds hollow and reflects unreal solutions to the most genuine problems off its surface. Finding Your G-Spot In Life couldn't have come to in me in a more wrong time as the last book I read was Lean In by Sheryl Sandberg and I loved it. It is not because it is by Sheryl Sandberg, the CEO of Facebook but by Sheryl Sandberg who faced difficulties in her personal & professional life. It brought out so many real-life scenarios and discussed causes which remain buried under the magnitude of the problems, in open without any inhibitions. She is an audacious leader and an even more audacious writer and speaker. Geetika could only manage to scratch the surface of a deeper abyss.

Geetika holds the potential of becoming a stupendous Motivational Speaker or a Ted(x) Speaker but I think she still has a long way to go when it comes to writing a book. The story is dry & dull consciously peppered with millennial terms here & there and swear words (written with *). I struggled to keep myself from yawning at various points, let alone it being thought-provoking.

This book also lacks a basic sense of aesthetics. The moment an idea attempted to settle in my mind, those gigantic fonts attacked the calm & tranquil cauldron and left it unsettled for quite a long period of time. A reader like me prefers the story to proceed in a breezy flow, such interruptions break the frame of mind.

In my opinion, this might turn out to be a good read for the beginners but to hit the right chord with the more mature readers, Geetika would need to up her game.

If you are expecting to get a place in your life, go for Finding Your G-Spot In Life

Someone’s madness, maybe your passion.

There are various motivational quotes you come across the book, but “Someone’s madness, maybe your passion,” is my personal favourite.

So now let’s talk about the Book:

There was a time when I use to read lots of self-help book of authors, like, Rhonda Byrne, Louise L. Hay, Dr. Brian Weiss, and many more. But I stop when all the book started becoming repetitive. They keep stating the same thing, again and again, only the presentation was different. And after almost two years later I stumbled upon this book, Finding Your G-Spot In Life by Geetika Saigal.

To be honest, I was skeptical before picking up this book, because I was done with self-help genre. However, I gave a try, and to my astonishment, I really liked it. I won’t say it was up to the mark, yet it was a kind of self-help book, which I could complete, and can have some good takeaways.

What makes it a good read?

First, language is very easy, and readable. No, high profile jargons or psychological terms, which might bounce above your head. Second, humor. Okay, few jokes might be cheesy, yet they live smile on your face, which I believe makes it interesting. And last but not least, stories. Geetika Saigal the author of the book, have narrated some stories from her own life, and that story is so common that you get connected with them, and in your mind, you say, “Dude, ye to mere saath bhi hua hai.” One more thing, like all self-help book, it too has Do-It-For-Yourself section at the end of each chapter, curated by the author. These Do-It-For-Your self’s identify the causes you really care about and help you to evaluate if they're worthy of your time.

Should you read it or not?

Okay, to be honest, you can give it a try. I won’t say, that you need to read it to know yourself, or it will change your life, your perception, and blah… blah… blah… But yes, if you need a light read, with a bit of story, humor and life teaching, go for it. You won’t regret. Or, you need a weekend read, or a travel read, yet you can opt for this book.

I give 3.5/5 for this book.

The book ‘Finding your G-spot in Life’ by Geetika Saigal falls into the category of self-help books which particularly is my favourite genre. I read many books on personality development, ‘How to win friends and influence people’ and & ‘7 Habits of Highly effective people’ being the most famous ones. In comparison to them, this book falls flat. But if we take into account that this is the debut book for her, then it would be unfair to compare with the giants like Dale Carnegie and Stephen R Covey.

The content of the book was excellent and straightforwardly provided some great views. We were acquainted with most of those things which play an essential role in our lives. The issue of gender equality was my personal favourite. The author recollected all those childhood learnings in the book which I found very much exciting and enjoyed going through the book. Do-it-for-yourself exercises helped us to see beyond the image that we see in the mirror.

I liked a few quotes from the book which will stay with me for quite some time now. Here are few of them:
• “Don’t ask yourself, what should I do with my life? Instead, ask yourself, what should I do with my time? What should I do today?”
• The Shower Power: “when you clear the clutter, the noises cease, the voices fade away; all you hear is then you.”
• “Maybe it’s not about the light at the end of the tunnel, but the lights we light as we journey through the tunnel.”
• “Maybe what you want isn’t what you want, you just enjoy wanting it.”
• “If you don’t have the passion in life, live your life passionately.”
The last one is my favourite, and the most I can relate to is the third one. There were many other quotes which I found appealing, but I can’t put the whole book in the review.

The worst thing about the book was the idea of constant change in the font size. It didn’t sit right with me as it was distracting and breaks a sort of uniformity that a reader is used to. Another problem I faced while reading the book was with the title. As we live in a society of illiterate professionals, it sometimes becomes challenging to make them understand simple and basic things, but at the same time, we also must be responsible in choosing the right words at the right time.

We all have some questions about our self, for example “What the hell I am doing with my life? What are my strengths or weakness? What is the thing which I am passionate about? How should I overcome my bad habits? How should I overcome my fears? I am not able to follow my time table, what should I do?” and many other questions. And we always tends to find the answers related to these questions online or through some speech or from some self-help books.
Then let solve these riddle for you. Where to find the answers for the above questions? The answers can be found in the self-help book Finding Your G-Spot in Life by Geetika Saigal. Many people will think what, self-help book? Yes, I do know that many people will won’t even touch self-help book not because the content is not good, after sometimes it becomes somewhat boring, because many self-help books talks about one or two things. I can assure you that Finding Your G-Spot in Life, doesn’t talk about one or two things, but it talks about various questions or things which are going on in our mind. Now you will think that it will be overview of the answers are looking for, but this is not the case in this book, because after every chapter there is an exercise which can help you to find something about yourself. And you won’t find boring at all, because there are many real life experiences of the author herself, that you will find some or other relatable to your life and it teaches various things about our self, which we even not aware about our self.
If you ask what is the favourite exercises or chapter from this book? I would answer, “An Open Letter from Me to Myself.” The letter made me aware about many things which I was not aware about myself before. The second exercise which I like the most is The Jugaad. The Jugaad helps me to understand where I was going wrong in my life. What should I change in my life?
We always ask ourselves, “What should I do with my Life?” But the author tells to ask ourselves, “What should I with my Time? What should I do today?” This question helps us to identify what should we do today eventually helps us achieving great in our life, as it is said, “It’s the little details that are vital. Little things make big things happen.”

Finding your G-spot in life is a humourous take by the author on how we get used to monotony and slowly forget ourselves. The book is divided into four sections. It also contains multiple lists of DIFYs (Do It For Yourself)s at the end of each chapter, curated by the author. These DIFYs identify the causes you really care about and help you to evaluate if they're worthy of your time.

The author's funny take on the millenial generation keeps you hooked till the end and I'm no exception to it. "We buy what we can, take loans for what we can't and trade our time for what's beyond our EMI capability". There is something or the other which anyone can relate to and that's what made me feel really connected with it.

"Trying forever to gain the approval of a certain few who conditioned us to feel inadequate in the first life" - Too often in life we fall prey to those so-called well-wishers who resist the changes we try to make and create a meaning to our life. This book helps you in balancing the negativity that's withholding you from following your passion; through the DIFYs. I'm amused by myself when I realized that I've jotted down more than 15 pages of data through the DIFYs!!

My favorite lines from the book go like these:

'We let Instagram filters cloud our world,
Facebook posts to drive our emotions,
Snapchat videos to make us laugh,
Twitter feeds to make us feel we have an opinion'

This is especially true to our present generation and kudos to the author to highlight this in the book. This kind of unapologetic work is what keeps me glued to a book and I'm glad I've read this one.

The author's writing style is non-preachy which is absolutely refreshing in the self-help genre. Don't judge a book by its cover, or sometimes it's title!!" And I couldn't agree more because this book did justice to the opening line.

Conclusion: If you're someone who's confused about your path in life, read this book. If you're someone like me who's contemplating the bold decisions you've taken by going against everyone, also read this book; it'll make you feel good about yourself."

The title of this book is different, actually which makes me more excited to read this book. Not only the title, the book is also different from other self-help books.
.
In this book the author has shown us that fear and vulnerability is not a weakness. Fear is not a bad thing. But the most important point is that how we respond to the fear, how we handle the situation when we are in fear.
.
The book is divided into 4 parts and 20 chapters. At the end of every chapter, there are Do-it-yourself questionnaires for self-evaluation and this makes the book more fun to read. This Do-it-yourself exercises helps us to know our self and our life much better. It's also the best way to interact with the readers. The author has narrated this book in such a way that it will connect with you as a friend.

There are many lessons which I have learnt from the book. The most inspiring one is about passion: if you fail to find passion, then live your life passionately. This book really helps you to find real “you" and “Who are you from Inside?"
The book is full of many inspiring quotes and they are going to stay with you for a longer time. Though all the quotes and thoughts are meaning full but this one will always motivates me : “Be true to yourself, not a wannabe to the world"
.
The most interesting point is that the author discussed subjects like passion, self-worth, fear etc. In such humorous way which never leaves the reader bored. The author has also includes some experience, failures and events from her life also. Everybody have some questions in life which keeps them bothering, this book will definitely help to find those answers.
This book is one of those classics that takes the fundamental percepts of new thought and makes them accessible, relevant and particularly practical for someone who might be facing emotional challanges. I would recommend this book to each and every people who have difficulty in finding themselves. A must read self-help book.

Wishing more success to Geetika Saigal

Geetika Saigal's 'Finding your G-spot in Life' is an approachable, easy, and interesting take on creating a life that is unique, meaningful, and worthwhile to each of us. The tone of the book is conversational and friendly with a lot of witty remarks that are always aimed at driving a point home. Saigal's personal stories and insights are interspersed well into the flow of writing that it renders reading the neatly organized four parts of the book from one chapter to another very smooth and spontaneous. Each chapter begins with an engaging epigraph and ends with a DIY exercise to help translate the discussed ideas into real-life situations.

The inclusion of '3 stories - 3 pieces of my life' directs the readers in a raw and honest way to the resounding message:

"Life is teaching you something at every moment of time; it's making you into who you are going to be.
Live it, love it, embrace it, understand it; be aware, not beware."

The messages are always and often related and substantiated with real-life experiences and that made the messages all the more impactful. However, it is not done in a biased and forceful way of one size fits all. It keeps iterating the fact to look inwards and eke out a living that is unique and beautifully dissimilar, to be proud of your own journey and not to waste your life trying to be like others or to fit in. Even when the going gets tough, the book claims that when you work on what you love even pain becomes the catalyst to keep going.

The change in fonts within the paperback version of the book I read didn't seem to be distracting, rather it helped me easily return to the already read sections as needed. However, the chapters towards the end seemed a bit dragging.

The book came across roundly as lively, insightful, and meaningful.

Review of the book "Finding your G-Spot in Life" written by Geetika Saigal.
I received a copy of this book in exchange of an honest review from the Bookoholics review program.
The book has been divided into 4 major parts basically, but let me first talk about the parts before them from the Preface till the Introduction. After going through them, I actually couldn't feel that enthusiasm that I generally feel towards reading a self-help book. I love self-help books and have gone through tons of them! So, anyway, my excitement was dampened. But then the writing style is totally different when I went ahead and started the 4 major parts. It's like bam! Soul got inserted into the way things were expressed. I fell hard.
The author has shared her strengths along with her vulnerability and giving depth to her words are her own life adventures and experiences. Fear has been talked about openly in this book. This is where I first connected with the author. With time, I've learnt to ask myself ,"What would I do if I weren't afraid?" And I keep motivating myself towards doing just that. It's exhilarating.
In a bold and direct manner, truths about our daily life are expressed and also every step of the way, there are reality checks and the reasons behind our choices, circumstantial or not are discussed. The author has gone ahead and broken down the reasons as well as given us step-by-step guidance on how to go about understanding and handling various dramas and dilemmas of our lives. And this is why I love this book. I love how there are breakdowns and step-by-step guidance on getting hold of what is important and what can be discarded from our lives making way for the ones that are a priority and has a depth, adding meaning to the choices that we make for ourselves.

3.5 / 5 Stars

I don't read much non-fiction (I'm trying to increase that number and balance the fiction to nonfiction ratio), let alone self-help books. 'Finding Your G-Spot In Life' seems preachy in the very beginning. The first few pages seem right out of a "Quotes: One Per Day" book. On top of that, the overuse of the ellipsis (three dots "...". Google it) bothered me as well.

After Part I, the book had successfully pulled me into the words on those pages. Part II and later have many small incidents from the author's life; some that shaped her, some that seemed insignificant but ultimately helped her learn something. To go along with that, I think the DIFY (Do-It-For-Yourself) sections were a nice touch. I like how she tied all these components together: the small incidents & stories, the sort-of-but-not-really preachy stuff, and the DIFY sections.

One thing the author has been consistent about is the brutal and unapologetic honesty that comes with being pulled down and what it takes to pull yourself up. I liked that a lot. The 'An Open Letter to me from Myself' part was a great addition as well.
I think such things sort of hurt coming from people (if you are the type of person who gets hurt by such stuff (there's nothing wrong in it!)) than when it is coming from a book written by practically a stranger. But at the same time, it makes you think, get your ass up and be the boss of your own life :)

I would recommend it as a one time read (AT LEAST) to everyone (depending on whether it works for you).

The copy of this book was given to me by The Bookoholics as a part of the 'Be An Influencer' review program, in return for an honest review.
