About the author

Dutch biologist, philosopher and theologian.

Ouweneel is a well-known writer and speaker among Evangelical circles in the Netherlands. He is widely regarded as a skilled debater. He graduated as a biologist and has three PhD degrees — in biology, theology, and philosophy. He also has numerous popular science books to his name.

Ouweneel used to consider himself "Young Earth Creationist" but now considersthe ideas of guided evolutionism' or theistic evolution.

Considero a avaliação que o autor faz "da Psicologia" uma avaliação imprópria, simplista e reducionista. Apesar de concluir que "toda verdade é verdade de Deus", em seu capítulo final escreve como se fosse o contrário: como se não fosse possível ter verdades nas teorias da psicologia. Também tratar a psicologia como um ente, uma unidade, é erro primário para uma obra que se deu ao trabalho de ser traduzida para o português.
Apesar de tudo, gostei da proposta de sistematização dos conhecimentos da mente, apesar de também considerar simplificada, sem dedicar páginas para falar do Ethos, Logos e Pathos.

Very helpful, balanced. Begins with a reformational anthropology (see Seerveld's Tin-Can model of human persons) to consider how human psychology works. Good stuff here.
