In recent years deliverance ministry has become increasingly difficult. Even the most seasoned ministers struggle to locate and expel demons. Individuals think they're free from demonic bondage only to be blindsided by another oppressive force. But for New York pastor Alexander Pagani, one experience changed everything. He realized how demons lodge themselves in hidden areas of our lives. First, a demon can quite literally reside in an area of the body. Second, demons can live deep in the soul and remain undetected. Deliverance is like a labyrinth with trap doors, backward stairs, and secret rooms. In The Secrets to Deliverance Pagani shares biblical strategies and his own experiences for evicting the demons in the "rooms" of your soul and body. Featuring prayers and declarations, this book will instruct you how to strategically and powerfully overtake the enemy so that you can live the life God intended for you.
I know there are going to be some mixed feelings on this book, and maybe even on this review, but I'm going to just share what I thought and what I learned from this in the hopes that it'll help another person choose whether or not to read it.
From someone who knows nothing about deliverance—which is to say the only things I've learned is what I've seen done as people deliver me from my demons—this book was incredibly enlightening. Am I ready to go battle the demons of those around me? Not necessarily. But am I filled with more understanding when it comes to the manifestation of demons and how they may be portrayed by certain aspects of Christianity? Yes.
Though not all are going to believe that this book is true, I approached it in a way that was full of searching, full of longing for answers, and this book gave me more answers than anything else has, so I'm going to grasp that. NOT ONLY that but this book gave solid Biblical evidence that, even when I looked it up in different versions and contexts, was SPOT ON.
Ultimately, I adored this book. I'm so glad I own it, I'm so glad I can reference it often and re-read it. I'm so privileged to be able to use this as a resource in my faith walk in the hopes that should I need to help someone, should God put me in a place where I CAN help someone, I'll be prepared for it.
If you're interested in looking into deliverance ministry or the manifestation of demons, I'd HIGHLY recommend this book. This was a solid 5 out of 5-star read! The text was easily legible, the evidence was there, and the advice was given in a way that it could be applied. Not only that but it was easily taken advice because of how it was broken down, making this a really artful little book that I'm blessed to have been able to read.
Let me start by saying that I’m a spirit-filled charismatic Christian who believes that demons exist and afflict people. As a pastor, I’ve had many experiences with deliverance.
While I do feel the author is likely a powerful minister in deliverance, this book’s interpretations of scripture are abysmal. He constantly takes texts out of context and twists them to mean whatever he wants them to mean. There is also constant allegory applied to the scriptures - which is always a terrible means of interpretation.
His entire foundational argument hinges on the idea that a concept in one place of the Bible should be applied to all places in the Bible. For example - the parable of the sower in Matthew 13 has birds which represent Satan. The author then states that everywhere birds are mentioned, we should view them as representing Satan. This is clearly untrue as Matthew 6:26 states God feeds the birds. This can’t represent Satan as (1) Satan is a spirit and doesn’t need physical food and (2) Jesus came to crush the head of satan, there is no reason for God to provide anything for satan.
He also uses this odd concept of “rooms” to explain how demons enter and hide within humans. He goes to great lengths to explain this in unsettling ways (especially the chapter on body parts that demons and enter and exit from). Instead of spending so much effort trying to show-horn this this “rooms” concept into the Bible, he could have merely stated that demons can oppress us through open doors of sin, hurts, and unbiblical oaths.
He makes outlandish references of how mucus or throwing up or sneezing expels demons. He stated that when he rebukes a demon from a person’s nose, that mucus running out of their nose is good and shouldn’t be stopped as it helps expel the demons. This is nonsense - Demons are not physical, but spiritual. While the physical and spiritual affect each other, demons leave because of the authority of Jesus, not because of bodily functions. A person throwing up in a deliverance session may happen, but (1) it doesn’t have to and (2) that is not the mechanism that expels the demon.
He also spends no time giving a scriptural foundation for our authority in Christ over demons or the work of the cross and blood of Jesus. I realize the scope of this book assumed someone already knew of these things, but even just a short chapter outlining these biblical concepts is much needed in a book on this subject.
Again, I have no doubt that the author has helped many people find freedom from possession and oppression. But even so, you should skip this book - it brings more confusion than clarity.
This book offers a very good but not new analogy that we are like a house with many rooms, and those rooms need cleaning, so are our soul and body. The author gives a few examples of what might plague us in every room and a short prayer of deliverance. To me, it definitely was not detailed enough, it was just a brief introduction into the subject to warm up the readers to the idea of this even being a possibility. The author does not state that everything bad that happens in our lives comes necessarily from a demonic origin, but sometimes it does, and it is good to know how to recognize it and get rid of it.
This book blessed my soul! God told me there were areas in my soul that needed healing in order to minister effectively! This book is what I needed! Thank you Man of God for allowing God to use you!
I liked it at first but then it went off the rails IMO. I feel he takes way too many liberties with Scripture and what it means. I fully support deliverance ministries but this book was more confusing than helpful.
Readable. To the point. Practical. I recommend taking your time and reading it twice. Give it plenty of pondering and read and study all the referenced scriptures. Much food with the living water.
Several times I was scratching my head trying to reconcile some of Pagani's teachings with my theology, and finding it next to impossible to impossible. Yet at other time times I was struck by the clarity and wisdom of his insights on dealing with the demonic. There are several occasions in which I feel he takes Scriptures out of context. And his entire thesis of using the rooms of the Temple as a blueprint for dealing with the rooms in a person's soul seems to me quite the biblical stretch. On the other hand when I consider my rather limited personal experience in expelling demons (only two occasions to date) vs. his hundreds of deliverance sessions, I am reminded of the famous story / quote from D. L. Moody. When someone criticized his personal evangelism approach he asked the critic when was the last time he had shared the Gospel with someone. The critic was caught off guard and admitted he wasn't much of a verbal witness for Christ, to which Moody responded, "Well, sir, I like my way of witnessing better than your way of not witnessing." In the same way, I like Pagani's way of deliverance ministry better than my way of not engaging in deliverance ministry.
While this book is very interesting, I feel a little unequipped to evaluate its message. I feel like the author does a good job of breaking down information and making it easier to understand. The methods he describes do not really sit well with me. But because I have no training in deliverance ministry, I cannot say if it is biblically correct or not. That being said, it is worth the read but I would recommend reading with discernment, wise counsel, and biblical truths.
Apostle Alexander Pagani does an amazing job of teaching and equipping the saints in advance deliverance... the Holy Spirit actually lead me through a couple deliverance showing me strategies that The Apostle wrote on this book regarding the different rooms (roles) and I immediately saw results as I applied the strategies mentioned on this book!!! I highly recommend this book!!!
This is a powerful book about deliverance. I went through each chapter and took time to pray to make sure each room of my temple is cleaned. Alexander's teaching of deliverance is very well explained, and he is guiding you all the way to the end. I strongly recommand it to any serious person who wants to be set free.
Pagani is a great deliverance minister. I respect his approach of teaching about deliverance rather than just doing it. This book along with his video about digging deeper was the perfect combination of teaching. The only reason it wasn’t a 5 star for me is because I wanted more maybe a longer book going into other things about deliverance
This book had good scriptural points but he kind of just repeats everything over and over again. The prayers are missing A LOT of power and don’t exactly pin point the deliverance topic in the chapters if that makes sense.
* he recommends reading a TD Jake’s book and a Joyce Meyers book through out one of the chapters if that matters to you
This is a fascinating edition to my recent journey into non-Catholic Christian education and Deliverance ministry. This is a great addition to my reference shelf. I loved the idea of thinking of the human body like the Temple of Solomon and the blue print of that Temple to explain how our bodies are attacked by demonic influences. I loved this one !
It is a great introduction into Deliverance. For anyone seeking freedom from all sorts of ailments, and would like God’s help in clearing out those demons, this is a great book to help you get started.
God is calling you back! Let His voice tell you which rooms need cleansing!
Reading Pagani’s perspective on the “temple” and correlating the body to the biblical archetype of the physical temple was fascinating. There was so much unpacked from the book of Ezekiel that made for an informative read.
This book is filled with so much misinterpretation of Scripture. The author portly defends his point on deliverance. I purchased this book read regarding their teachings and found their teachings ludicrous.
It was interesting. I am just learning about deliverance in modern day. I see a lot of information coming from direct revelation from God instead of the Bible. I will read again to see if I feel differently a second read.
Whew! There is so much to process. But I will say this for now, the power of deliverance is more legal than anything. I was shocked at how much my understanding grew over my own authority. We are blessed beyond comprehension! Amen!
Everyone must must read this book. Deeper insight into healing, restoration , deliverance. I wish this book was written years ago. Thank you for obeying God in writing this book.
Very insightful, educational, revealing and freeing in Yeshua’s mighty name amen, amen. HalleluYah, Yahweh is so good. If you want to walk in freedom, learn how to use the authority you have in Jesus, and help others be set free then this is a book for you.
A lot of food for thought and study. I was reminded that in my Father’s house are many dwelling places. It is He who goes before us to prepare those rooms, dwelling places. He is preparing a people for His Kingdom to walk in His authority.
Pagani’s theory about our bodies having literal rooms like the temple in the Old Testament is definitely fascinating. I won’t go too far into it. Worth your time if you are intrigued by the supernatural’s and spiritual warfare.
Very informative and full of insight. This book is full of prayers for deliverance and it gives a clear understanding of how demons can enter. We must stay free
