Picking up where Book Three (Ondelle of Grioth) left off, Voyage from Foraglenn tells the story of Brigitta's most dangerous journey yet: sailing across the seas in search of the final Purviews. As the world descends deeper into elemental chaos, and the Eternal Dragon's energy weakens, Brigitta feels the pressure of time running out. Her traveling companions are in for the long haul, but Brigitta is having trouble letting them in. Croilus is up to his old tricks, invading her thoughts and dreams, and she can't decide which course of action to take to keep everyone safe. She knows she must open the Purviews and reunite the old civilizations in order to rebalance Faweh, but in doing so, she may be putting the world in another kind of danger. Could she possibly be leading Croilus to a way to kill the Eternal Dragon and take control of the most powerful magic the world has even known?

Brigitta's exciting adventures continue in this penultimate book of the series.

Astrid's Description: Enjoy being sucked into a world of faeries and magic. Seriously, you'll come out of it realizing you are starving and need to pee, because you couldn't put the book down.

I have read and loved every book Danika has written for this series thus far. As you can imagine, this one is included. The writing is still amazing and captivating. The descriptions pull you into a new world and allow you to feel, see, and sometime smell what is going on. The characters continue to grow and make new mistakes and have new challenges.

I want to talk a little more about the characters. You see, there seems to be a common trend of the "bad" guys not actually being bad in any way other than what a character says about them. Your fear is supposed to come from the main person talking, almost endlessly, about how scared they are, or how terrible "bad guy" is. That is not how this villain is. Even if you took away your knowledge of the previous books, and only looked at the antagonist in this story, you still would come to the conclusion that he isn't a good person. There are several scenes showing you what is going on that makes him the villain.

Now, I did notice a few grammar errors and one mishap where it said she instead of he. However, none of them were very big mistakes and they were few and far between. One thing that was a bit challenging was keeping the many characters and places straight in my head. Not that there were too many in this book, but many previous characters and locations are brought up in this book, and I did not always remember who they were. At the very end of the book I did find a Lexicon, which would have helped with some of the confusion, but I didn't notice it until after I finished reading the novel. So if you read this before you read the book, just know that information is there to assist you.

Regardless, this series is still a favorite and I look forward to more.

Danika has a talent for world building and character development and relationships. These books in this series are very creative and the characters, places, and languages are very imaginative. You get caught up in the characters and want to know what happens to them (especially Brigitta and for me Minq and Narru and the relationship between Brigitta and Jarlath and her connection to the Dragon and how that pans out) and you do have strong feelings against Croilus the villain of the book due to the way she paints him. She does a great job of playing out the tension- will Brigitta get through the Purview? Will she and her friends succeed? Can she get past her reluctance to trust others? Book 1 is still my favorite. My only compliant is trying to keep it all straight- there's a lot of past and current characters across 4 books, a lot of places and terms to keep straight. It was challenging to keep them straight sometimes, but luckily there is a key at the back of the book that's really helpful. A great YA series with fairies and magic and a Dragon and adventures....

This last in the series was as well written and engaging as the others, but I wonder if there will be a conclusion. This came out in 2018 and the 6th book was supposed to be out last year.
