Andrew Hastie

Having always had a creative eye, he graduated with a BA Honours in Graphic Design, and has gone on to have a successful career as a Creative Director within a number of digital agencies, creating award-winning work for some of the largest global brands. During this time he nurtured his passion for writing sci-fi and secured a commission with the BBC for his first script, The Department of Unknown Origins, a Victorian X-Files set in the Natural History Museum, exec produced by Jon Plowman and considered by BBC Drama and Sky One.

Great book. Is really good to see the story behind some of the other characters in the books. The origin series is still top class as is the main series. Looking forward to reading the one about the colonels origins.

Wow! There is so much in this book. It was a little confusing at first, with so many new characters, but I love how it all came together. It added so much depth to the world created in the other books. Looking forward to the next book :)

Great spin off
I really enjoyed jumping back into the Infinity Engines world and seeing more of Caitlin as well as some new characters, whilst waiting for book three.
This story flows very well from chapter to chapter and it feels like the author is growing in confidence with is writing.
Looking forward to seeing where the story goes next in book three and also hoping for some more Origins spin offs. Would love to see more of Rufius in particular.

Perfect: Time travel, alternate reality, and murder mystery.
This is just my kinda thing, and I’m hurrying this review just to get on further with the series. Love Caitlin, and the whole cast of characters. I regard characters to be of utmost importance in a novel or series. Really glad I’ve got lots more to go. There’s just something about a late teen/young adult female protagonist, and the way this story moves. Relatively uncomplicated with no more than three threads at any time. All good.

I Really do like these Infinity Engine stories and now Mr Hastie is giving us these extra spin off adventures with the individual charachters from the original triology we really are being spoiled!.This was a great easy to read adventure giving us a more insightful view of this amazing future world inside Andrew Hasties amazing mind ! wow what a place to be and i cannot wait for the next adventure, Please keep them coming i will never tire of this series , loving it :-)

Good morning for book 1
Well structured writing starts off as a time travel novel but descends into Harry Potter and the time Lord's by the end. Still there is enough book to bring you back for a second instalment even if the number of creatures, Orders, spells and ghosts make it sci- fantasy not fiction as such.

I've not read this year but this is the book that has got me back into the swing. Not a fan of history or so I thought but this is cleverly interwoven with history that just makes you think. Goog strong characters, very well written the whole series is a must read.

Reading the origin books before starting the Series helps to get a feel for the premise. An interesting variant on the time travel concept, looking forward to the next story.

Not as good as the story proper, especially since ultimately what happened this book didn't happen in the end, but it's nice to read something about Caitlin outside her ~destiny~.
