Really great opening, but the other two stories weren't as good. I'm basing my rating for this off of the first story only, because it was just really good and I loved that it went back all the way to issue 8.

This was some excellent Superman short stories which deal directly with the heart of the character and his moral compass. It was an excellent read, and he was wearing his real costume once again!

I'm so torn.

On the one hand, this is a perfect example of a publisher giving creative teams the opportunity to close the book on their own terms...in a sense. Tying up loose ends and reminding us just how completely they not only know but honor and respect the characters in question.

And on the other hand...this comes after being shown a sneak peak into what Bendis is bringing...breaking our hearts because it really does look like we're trading down. Really, really far down.
