Viktor’s unexpected words scare her, but he’s slowly winning her over…and her baby girl. But can she let go of her own fears, or will her ex ruin everything before she can even try at a happily ever after?
So who am I? Well, I'm the crazy girl with an imagination that never shuts up. I LOVE scary movies. My friends laugh at me when I scare myself watching them and tell me to stop watching them, but who doesn't love to get scared? I grew up in a small town nestled in the southern mountains of West Virginia where I spent days roaming around in the woods, climbing trees, and causing general mayhem. Nights I would stay up reading Nancy Drew by flashlight under the covers until my parents yelled at me to go to sleep.
Growing up in a small town, I learned a lot of values and morals, I also learned parents have spies everywhere and there's always someone to tell your mama on you. So when you get grounded, what is there left to do? Read! My Aunt Jo gave me my first real romance novel. It was a romance titled "Lord Margrave's Deception." I remember it fondly. But I also learned I had a deep and abiding love of mysteries and anything paranormal. As I grew up, I started to write just that and would entertain my friends with stories featuring them as main characters.
Now, I live Huntersville, NC where I entertain my family and watch the cats get teased by the birds and laugh myself silly when they swoop down and then dive back up just out of reach. The cats start yelling something fierce...lol.
I love books, I love writing books, and I love entertaining people with my silly stories.
I'm kind of at a loss on what to say about this book. I liked it and I thought it was worth the wait since I've been wanting Viktor and Sara's story since the end of The Healing Touch, and the overall story was intriguing. But there was just something missing. The story seemed a little bland in the middle and it started to drag as more and more pages got turned with nothing happening between these characters.
It almost felt like there was more of an importance from this story to bring up old characters rather than focus on the actual main characters. And even though I liked Sara and wanted to get more of her story Viktor kind of annoyed me with his "Me man. Me protect you. You mine." thing he had going on. I just didn't see a connection between him and Sara before he started saying she and her daughter were "his" to protect so the Alpha vibe was more of an Asshole vibe.
But like I said I did enjoy the overall story and it's one I would recommend if you want a possessive hero to read about. I'm still super excited to see what else this author comes up with from this family so I'll definitely be reading more from this series. I would say that it can't be read as a standalone unless you don't mind some pretty big spoilers.
ARC kindly provided in exchange for an honest review.
Viktor knew he had a job to do and yet the pull he had towards Sarah from the first time they met made it hard for him to do that "job". Sarah's been through hell and back and the unthinkable had to happen for her to run away from that hell but she questions herself if she made the right decision, especially since Viktor is her "bodyguard" now. These two had some sizzling chemistry from the start and no matter how hard they tried to ignore it, the HEAT was there.
The Kincaid family was a close family, and when someone messed with one of them there was no telling what would happen, it reminded me of my Spanish family. The way Viktor made Sarah & Delia feel, SAFE, is the way it should have always been and Sarah not knowing if it was real or not was scared to her wits. I felt I was always guessing of when is he going to pop in and right when I let my guard down, bam, he struck.
The angst was just the right amount and add the sizzling heat and we have ourselves a story that kept my attention until the end. Kara ~4.5 Stars
Viktor by Apryl Baker is a fabulous read. It is a beautiful, emotional, sweet romance that has the feels and the action. I found myself hooked from page 1 and before I knew it, the story flew by and was over because I was enthralled by and wrapped up in Viktor and Sara’s story. OMG I totally loved all of the Kincaid brothers in other books of hers but Viktor, oh I like him A LOT!!! See, these Kincaid men are all possessive alpha males but in the best way you can get, loyal men, honest and kind, rugged and sexy. Viktor is all this and more. Viktor is one of those guys who keep people safe. He is there protecting those that need it, as long as you pay his fees. When his brother calls him in to help with a friend he had no idea what he was getting himself into until he gets there and meets Sara and her little girl. Watching how Viktor and Sara interact , watched as their relationship grew and the chemistry between them grew. Viktor and Sara had a bit of a slow burn in their relationship which didn’t come off as forced but as natural and beautiful. The slow build that occurred between her and Viktor made their story that much more real and honest feeling. Sara is fresh off an abusive relationship and has a hard time trusting men yet she feels safe with Viktor. A series of horrible and scary events keep putting her with Viktor and those events push them together. Viktor has always been the brother who has been ready for love in his life yet there has never been Ms. Right until now..until Sara. Sara and her precious daughter come into his life and lighten his life and make him want to be everything for them. He sees how broken their souls are and wants to heal them and make them his “girls”. This highly alpha male has to calm down his alpha side to heal them heal and then protect them from harm. Viktor & Sara are perfect together and I loved how Delia, Sara’s daughter fell for Viktor & Mason. I loved all the characters in this story and look forward to the next book in this series. This is a book I had a serious book hangover after the book was over. I have read and re-read this book over and over because that is how awesome I found this story to be.
My Rating: 4.8 stars ***** “I received an advanced copy of this book from the author at no cost to me."
Viktor by Apryl Baker was a fantastic read. I have been reading about the Kincaid brothers in other books of hers and so far I've loved them all in their own way, and Viktor is no different. I loved his intense personality. He was protective and bossy but all with such kindness and good intentions.
I've really come to appreciate the way Apryl Baker writes her heroines too. In this story the situation Sara is trying to escape is sad and dangerous but she shows such strength. She's obviously a loving mother. And she didn't let her past actually break her. What's not to love.
This story line made me think of a hard subject in a different way. I love it when a book can do that and it's just one of the many reasons I read. I'm so excited to see what is next in this series. So many great leading men possiblities.
Beautiful, sweet romance topped with a bit of action and suspense that keeps you on your toes. It was easy to find myself completely consumed by this book. I started reading and before I knew it hours had flown by while I was wrapped up in Viktor and Sara’s story. This book had so many thing I love! The intense love Viktor had with Sara, the way he adored Sara’s daughter, and the tight knit family all of it was simply wonderful.
While Viktor and Sara had a bit of a slow burn, it was a natural one. The sparks are instant between them, but with all Sara and her daughter have been through the slow build between her and Viktor made their story that much more real. Viktor himself was an easy man to love. Strong, protective, devoted to those he loves. I liked him the minute he was introduced. As Sara became more than just a client to him I fell even harder. The way he was with her and her daughter was just beautiful.
Sara is someone who I think most women can relate to, whether they’ve been in her shoes or not. Smart, kind, an incredible mother, and so incredibly strong. Even as she heals from what she’s going through she remains one strong woman. I loved reading their story!
I have been looking forward to this Kincaid brother's book! This can be read as a standalone romance but I recommend reading the other books in the Manwhore and KSI series to really be able to follow the storylines. Viktor Kincaid is the owner of Kincaid Security and Investigations and takes on the difficult case of battered wife and author Sara Jane Riley and her daughter Delia. Sara spent years being beaten by her controlling soon to be ex husband but the minute he laid a hand on their daughter, she grabbed her and ran, filing a restraining order against him. Her estranged husband keeps finding sneaky ways to break the restraining order, leaving Sara, Delia, and even Sara's parents terrified at what he plans next especially when the local police won't do anything to protect them. Viktor assembles a hand chosen team to see to their safety and quickly falls in love with the feisty, yet damaged young mother and daughter duo.
From page one, Viktor gripped me. Quickly paced, Viktor is the story of Sara, a woman who wants to be rid of her abusive ex husband. She refuses to run, and her close friend calls in the calvary. His brother, Viktor, who is determined to protect Sara and her daughter.
Sara is determined to be free. Viktor is full of grit and determination. Their story was addictive, full of suspense and intense moments. I read this in one sitting and was enthralled the entire time. I would recommend this to the reader looking for a sexy, protective Russian and the woman who can bring him to his knees.
I Don't know what it was about this book. I normally love books with a blurb like this. I expected more and I really tried, but I couldn't get into it. Couldn't connect with the characters, and it just seem bland and really draggy. Sorry...
Head hopping is a personal pet peeve of mine. The story might be good, I don’t know. Never got beyond the first chapter. The abused spouse angle wasn’t working for me at all. I found it very conflicting and implausible, but was also looking at it through survivor’s eyes. It didn’t resonate with me at all. In fact, it irritated.
Plus, the editing needs work. The lack of dialogue tags or even action tags paired with head hopping made it almost impossible to tell who was speaking.
When Sara left her abusive husband, you would think that he would just let her go. It wasn't like he really wanted her, but no, some people just don't let go. So Sara ends up getting help in the form of Viktor Kincaid, who becomes her bodyguard. Viktor keeps having to remind himself that Sara is a client and that he needs to keep this professional, even though everything inside him is screaming that she should be more. When Viktor starts to fall not only for Sara but for her daughter, Delia, he decides that once this is over, he will make them his. Sara is understandably gun shy, but Viktor is willing to be patient with her and wait until she is ready. But when Viktor is seen out in public with Sara, the danger increases and the threats become more real. Can Viktor keep his promise and keep them safe?
So..... this was book two of the series, and I wasn't aware of that when I signed up. I'm sure that if I had read book one, I would have liked this one better. I felt like something was missing, and I still, after having thought on it, can't figure out just what it is. Maybe its the flow, or the fact that there were some things that just bugged me, IDK. I do know that a Marine is a Marine, not a soldier.
This is an action packed story; with drama, danger, and the sexy time was ok. This was just an ok story, and I give this 3.5 stars.
I can easily give this book 3.5 stars because of the action and chaos surrounding Sara and her family. This author wrote a very good story that will hopefully bring some attention even in novel form to the dangers that exist and the extremes people may take in these situations. And no it isn't only men who flip, let's keep it real. OK back to the book. The story is well written and even though I love me an alpha man Viktor was a bit much in his immediate claim on mother and child. His brothers are amazing and a lot of fun like siblings can be. But I have to admit there was something lacking for me I just didn't feel the feels but I did enjoy the story. I hope that makes sense.
Anyway, I haven't read any of this author's work but like I said I did enjoy this standalone read. There are carryover characters in the series and although this is book 2 I didn't feel lost.I would however love to read more about this crazy group.
This is one of those books where you're sitting at work and you start remembering it's sitting waiting for you and you get all excited.
Talk about alpha possessive males. This book is an overload of strong, protective, possessive men. No one is messing with what's theirs!!! Whether you've excepted you're theirs or not.
Viktor knows instantly that Sara is it for him, but just having escaped an abusive relationship Sara isn't quite so sure if she can trust another man. For a man as alpha as Viktor the tender moments he shares with Sara melt your heart.
Add in the banter and tight relationships with his brothers this is a book you won't want to put down. I can't wait for the next installment. I just can't decide which one of the Kincaid brothers I want next lol.
I’ve given the other 4 books involving the Kincaid brothers 4 stars because I like the stories and the characters. I couldn’t give them 5 stars because of the editing errors. By the time I finished this one I had such an eye twitch from the build up of errors, I had to drop by 2 stars. Why is this such a common thing to see in this genre of ebooks? I figured it had to be because so many authors were self publishing and couldn’t afford editors. But, this author thanked her editor in the acknowledgment. Instead, I highly recommend she get a new one.
Sara Riley has left her abusive husband and filed for divorce after he hit their child so hard it knocked out her front tooth. He’s not ready to let her go, though and continues to break the restraining order she’s taken out against him. She can’t rely on the local law enforcement because they are his family and friends. Knowing just how desperate his friend is, fellow romance author Dimitri Kincaid brings in his brother Viktor and the security firm he owns to keep his friend and her daughter safe from harm.
Former Marine turned bodyguard and security specialist, Viktor Kincaid jumps at the chance to help his brother’s friend. From the moment he lays eyes on her and her sweet little girl, he knows this will be more than just an assignment to him. He’s all in. He’ll just need to convince Sara of that.
Sara is looking for safety. Instead she finds what just might be her forever guy. She’s skittish, but the fact that he clearly loves her daughter and that Delia trusts him when she has reason to fear everyone has the walls she has built around her heart breaking down. Sara’s ex isn’t going to stop coming at her anytime soon, however and it’s going to take Viktor and all of the resources Kincaid Security & Investigations has to keep her and Delia safe from the psycho who wants her dead rather than see her with anyone else.
This was my first book by Apryl Baker, and I have to say, I’ve fallen in love with the Kincaid brothers. They are all alpha and bossy when it comes to those they care about. While they may be bossy, however, it is all to keep their loved ones safe and happy. And, when they fall for a woman, they fall hard and fast!
Viktor immediately becomes wrapped around sweet Delia’s little finger and I loved watching her learn to trust a man after it had been broken by her father. I loved watching their relationship blossom. Even sweeter, was Delia’s relationship with younger Kincaid brother, Mason. It will tug on all of your heart strings!
Sara is seriously tough as nails. It was wonderful watching her finally be the person that is cared for and pampered. Her trust issues are to be expected after all she has been through, and I love how patient Viktor is with her. Watching her regain her sense of self worth and understand how she should be treated by the man in her life was a real high point of the book for me.
There is so much action in this book with Sara’s ex that I was on the edge of my seat waiting to see what he would try to do to hurt Sara and her family next. It’s a fantastic mix of romance and suspense with really sweet moments with Delia added in. The characters show a lot of depth and the storyline surges ahead at full speed. 4.5 stars for Viktor!
Viktor was one of those stories that captured my attention from the very beginning, not letting me go until I devoured it in one sitting. It didn't take me long to become a huge fan of Apryl Baker with her her talented, and addictive writing style, but I believe that the Kincaid Security & Investigations series has become my favorite now. Sara Riley met Viktor Kincaid when her friend, his brother, hired him to protect her & her daughter, from her very violently abusive husband. And instantly, Sara feels a strong attraction to the alpha man, but refuses to get involved with any man who wants to boss her around, even if it is for her own safety. Viktor has one big rule, not to get involved with his clients, but there's something about Sara, who has him quickly realizing is different for him, because he senses that she's it for him. However, he has to keep her & her baby girl safe from her soon to be ex-husband, who keeps violating the restraining order first, before tackling all of her fears. And that's all that I'm going to give away, because of that whole suspense factor that provide the f-bomb dropping twists, so no spoiler douchery here. I loved Viktor so much, as he was an alpha male the 9th degree who was mouth watering HOT! And not in that whole irritated me either, no he was just amazing! So while I loved Sara, there were times where her stubbornness was the most frustrating, and normally, I'm not one who has the hero's back, but in this instance I did. (You would have to read Sara's inner monologue to understand my opinion of her stubbornness so you don't think I'm saying she should be over her abuse quickly. It's a completely different reason.) But it was the cast of secondaries who made the book for me, especially Delia, who added such a sweet & humorous factor with all the other Kincaid men, that I couldn't get enough of all the cuteness! Finally, there was plenty of action mixed in with all the other goodness to keep the heart racing, and chemistry that finally lead to sexy times that lit the sheets up, so I hope there is more in this series that I'm completely hooked to in the near future! HIGHLY HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND!
Viktor by Apryl Baker “Safety is the name of the game, 4 stars”
I love the Kincaid men! They are all possessive alpha males in the best possible way who are loyal to there women. Baker has a way with writing these types of hero’s and I love her for it. Everything about them makes you swoon, from speaking Russian to them proclaiming you are there’s without a care, it’s fantastic! Viktor is one of those guys who keeps people safe. He doesn’t care who you are as long as you pay. When his brother calls him in to help with a friend he had no idea what he was getting himself into until he was already in. everything about Sara and her daughter draw him in. Viktor has always been the brother who’s ready for love but he hasn’t found it yet until these two girls. Now he has to set his alpha tendencies to the side for his broken woman. Sara is fresh off an abusive relationship that she’s not even done with completely when she meets Viktor. She’s the definition of gun shy and adamant to stand her ground. Until she witnesses her daughter instantly fall in love with the big scary Russian. A series of very unfortunate events happen that keep pushing her closer and closer to Viktor. Will she be able to stand or ground or will she cave? Like I already said, I love the Kincaid family and this story just reminded me as to why I do. Baker gave these two their own story but at the same time gave you enough of the family that we’ve already watched fall in love to keep us happy and gave us more of the brothers to come to keep us on the edge of our seats wanting more. I loved it and I cannot wait to see who comes next. The only reason this story is getting a 4 instead of a 5 is because at times it jumped whose thoughts she was writing in an unclear way. Like one moment you would be in Sara’s mind and the next in Viktors. Plot-5/5 Characters-5/5 Heat-5/5 Writing style-4/5 Overall-4/5
In the novel, we follow Sara Jane's journey as she hires Viktor to protect herself, daughter, and parents from the torment that was her abusive and controlling soon-to-be ex-husband. Throughout the novel, Apryl Baker has once again outdone herself in pulling at the strings of raw emotion of the cycle of abuse and the difficulty of escaping. As the journey is Sara's escape and necessity to catch her ex violating his restraining order, we see and experience the occasional PTSD and triggers other people's behavior has on herself and her daughter. The two of them find comfort in Viktor, though, as he reminds them of what a man should be - respectable, endearing, and never once taking out his aggression on the girls.
\While independent from the previous novel, Kade, the timeline overlaps plenty between Sara's journey of recovery and Angel's reminder of losing her son. There's plenty of conversation made with Kade's end of events and Viktor's own, although this novel introduces the youngest of the Kincaid brother, Mason, and deals with Sara's necessity of protection.
Overall, this novel is most in touch with modern-day situations and its necessity of being publicized. Apryl Baker does a fantastic job bringing to light the situation of domestic violence and the journey to escape it - as well as cope with the aftereffects. Throughout the novel the reader experiences tension between Sara and Viktor, as is between all the characters of the series. However, Viktor greatly details the process of the cycle and escape of abuse thoroughly throughout the novel.
I have been waiting to read Viktor's story since I read the Manwhore Trilogy. And, I am happy to say, I wasn't disappointed. Fairly well edited. A few more misses than in previous books.
Viktor is hired by his brother to look after Sara Jane and her daughter, Delia. Sara's husband is abusive, and has branched out from hitting her, to also hitting their daughter. That was the turning point for Sara. She left that night. But, her husband doesn't really want to let go, Restraining Order notwithstanding. Enter Viktor, intent on keeping mother and daughter safe whatever it takes. Sara isn't really keen on having some man tell her what to do, even if that man is only telling her for her own safety. Unfortunately, not listening to Viktor nearly costs her her life. Viktor initially tries to view Sara as only a client. This doesn't last long, as his heart is drawn to her. Delia, generally scared of new people, immediately latches onto Viktor. Sara struggles with what her heart wants - it is too soon - she doesn't want to jump into another relationship when she isn't even free of her husband yet. Threats abound as the soon-to-be ex-husband tries to reclaim Sara and Delia. Will Viktor be able to stop him and protect the woman and child he is coming to love? Will Sara let go of the past and embrace the future Viktor offers?
Once again the Kincaid family steps up and in to help each other. It was good to see more of the brothers, and to see the interaction of Mateo and Delia. Looking forward to more of this fierce family. Enjoy!
I've been dying to read Viktor's story since I read The Healing Touch. He caught my interest then and I will admit I was slightly annoyed--in an impatient way--by the author making me wait to read his story. Don't get me wrong, I really enjoyed Kade, but this is the book I've been waiting for.
After all that waiting, I'm so glad to be able to say it didn't disappoint. From start to finish, the book held my attention and I couldn't put it down. Thanks to this author I'm now behind on work deadlines, but I'd say it was worth it.
Viktor was the right amount of tough, but with a gentle and soft side around his family. I loved how he took to Delia, and how gentle he was with her. The love all the Kincaid men have for the women in their lives is evident in spades. I also liked the introduction of Mason. He seems like an interesting character and I think he's taken over my intrigue from Connor. While I'd love to read about both men in their own books, Mason seems a bit more jovial. Although, I am intrigued by Connor's darkness.
As for the plot, in general it was well-paced and kept my attention. The only slight downside was the ending all came a bit sudden and I didn't really feel it reached a climax with the danger. The resolution came about a bit too easy in that sense.
Overall though, the was a great read and I'd definitely recommend this author's romance work. I can't wait for the next book, no matter who it is written about.
I have waited for Viktor’s story, often quite impatiently, since meeting him in the Manwhore Series. There was no doubt in my mind I would love this Kincaid brother more than any other I had read and I was absolutely correct! Viktor is the man who cannot help but use foul language (he tries so hard to control himself around women and children so it becomes very endearing after awhile) and protects everyone he loves and cares about. He owns a security firm so when Sara, an author and friend of Dimitri’s, is being threatened by her abusive ex-husband he steps in to make sure she and her daughter remain safe.
Viktor proves to be the gentle giant, he knows just how to approach Sara and Delia, her precious daughter, in a way they learn he can be trusted without a doubt. The affection between Viktor and Delia is absolutely heartwarming. The dynamic between Viktor and Sara is perfectly written. These two stumble their way through Sara’s fears, Viktor’s sense of protectiveness and in the end Sara realizes “Mr. Bossy Pants” will only be bossy in the best and most necessary ways possible. There are moments of this book you will hold your breath, laugh and cry. I could not put it down until I finished it all! And I also loved seeing Conner again and getting to know Mason and a few of the other Kincaid employees that I am sure we will see again in the future!
I dnfed this book pretty early on. I wasn’t really a fan of any of the characters. I usually like instalove but it just doesn’t make sense in this book. I didn’t read the previous books in the series because from the blurb I felt it was a standalone book, it is not. You get thrust the middle of the story with no background and almost no catchup for people that have not read the previous books. This just made the horrible editing stand out even more. It felt like every other paragraph was in another characters POV. This could have been fixed if each chapter was in one persons and it said who at the beginning. Many books do this. Because of these things I was confused and could not get into the book at all. I also felt the characters were kinda one note but that’s another thing.
Slight topic change but unless you like guns you will not really like this books a lot. It kinda felt like Apryl wrote this book so she could speak about her opinion on guns and school shootings. It’s all rather tone deaf and not needed in a story like this. For example(this is where I dnfed) Victor thinks it’s a good idea for a 6 year old to learn how to shoot a gun. WHY, SHE’S 6. I won’t get into it more but I really did not enjoy this.
In this book, it’s all about Viktor & his love Sara. I can’t deny how much I became teary eyed and emotional at certain parts of this story. Like the first book which was about Kade & Angel that also made me emotional. I absolutely loved the first one and this one didn’t disappoint me either. It’s just as good. I adore the Kincaid Brothers! And enjoy reading more about each of their stories. I love how family means the world to them. That even not being blood related can be exactly the same as being related. It’s so heart warming to read about that. I’m happy to see their family growing even more so now with new additions. Viktor & Sara are perfect together and I adored how Sara’s daughter Delia took to Viktor & Mason! I look forward to hopefully seeing more about Mason & Conner in the future! As well as seeing more about all the kids together too! So happy such a big family! Author Apryl Baker has such a way with words being able to pull at my heart strings... This series is awesome. The Kincaid brothers are swoon worthy and their growing family is worth reading about!
I was pulled right into this story. This story will pull you in and keep you turning the pages. The story has pain, abuse, secrets, and heartbreak.
If you have not read the below I would recommend reading those books(s) first Kade (Kincaid Security & Investigations Book 1)
This is Sara and Viktor’s story. Sara is finally getting away from her ex and escaping with her daughter. She knows she needs help but she is not sure that Viktor is the right one to help her. The chemistry between them is off the charts but she needs to think about her and her daughter first. Viktor knows what he wants and he wants Sara not just for right now but forever. Can he prove that he is nothing like her ex and he is willing to stick around to wait for her. Cn these two have a future when her ex is still after her? Or will the ex make sure she does not have a future.
I loved these characters and the side characters. I felt I could connect with the characters and the story was a great read.
Sarah is battling after leaving an abusive marriage that turned not only on her but her daughter too. She needed protection. Viktor was just the man to call.
Viktor is strong, protective and is looking for love- unlike his brothers.
This story is great. Fight off the evil ex, find love, save the princesses.
I love this family. They are amazing. Close no matter geography.
And I am glad we got to see Matteo and know about Arielle their newest addition.
Seeing more happiness from Connor too.
How is Gabe? That wasn't annouced.
Are Becca and Lily pregnant? All the brothers finding love within months of each other.
Now to see Mason and Connor find their loves.
I love that Sarah's parents got adopted in as another set of grandparents.
I hope Gabe, Max and Dylan's stories are written- would love to see them find their HEA.
Such a great book with a wonderful epilogue. Danger, mystery, intensity, chemistry and pure love.
I truly enjoyed this 2nd book in this series. Dimitri hires his brother Viktor and his security company as protection for Sara, an author friend who is having a problem with her soon to be ex husband after he hits her 6 year old daughter hard enough to knock out a tooth. It turns out he has been beating on her for 8 years but she got the courage to leave when he hit her child. The scum is now ignoring the restraining order. Viktor and Sara Jane are attracted to each other but try to fight the attraction. The ex is causing problems but sending others to do it. The threats are getting more violent as they wait for him to make a mistake. This book has more Kincaid brothers, a cute daughter who is not scared of the Kincaid men, caring parents, good ole boys police department supporting the scum sucking ex, a woman scared of being hurt and a very patient man.
Viktor Kincaid was a Marine but now owns Kincaid Security and Investigations. His brother asks for help with a friend. Sara Riley has finally left her husband after he hit their daughter. He had been beating her for years but when his hit their little girl, she left, filed for divorce and got a protection order. He keeps breaking it but when no one can see. The police are no help because they are friends with him. Viktor starts to fall hard for Sara and her little girl Delia. Delia has anxiety around men but she takes up with Viktor immediately. When Sara’s “ex” starts upping the harassment, Viktor calls in reinforcements. Can Viktor break through the walls Sara has around her heart? I absolutely loved this book. Steamy. A cute little girl. A bossy Russian bodyguard and an emotionally and physically abused woman who will do anything to protect her daughter. This book could have triggers for some.
