About the author

Samuel White III

Dr. Samuel White, III is a native of Rochester New York and the son of the late Samuel White II and Anna White. Dr. White graduated with honors from Brockport State College with a Bachelor of Science degree. He went on to graduate from Harvard Divinity School with a Masters of Theological Studies degree and a Masters of Divinity degree from the Methodist Theological School in Ohio. He completed his educational pursuits by achieving a Doctorate of Ministry degree from Drew University. He has been an adjunct professor at the Ecumenical Theological School, Mary Grove College and William Tyndale College. Dr. White has been the recipient of numerous civic and religious awards. He was awarded Minister of the Year Award, The Rev. Charles Hill Award from the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention and The Presidents' Award from the Progressive Baptist Convention. Dr. White served as the President of the Michigan Progressive Baptist Convention. He is currently the senior Pastor of the Friendship Baptist Church and a Hospice Chaplain for Henry Ford. He is a preacher, teacher, revivalist, motivational speaker, pastoral care counselor, leadership trainer, grief group facilitator and writer. Dr. White is happily married to the former Sandra Wilson and they are blessed with two children Alexandria and Samuel IV.
