Fight the fear. Fear the fight. After the disease wiped out most of the population, Kate Black had to survive on her own. She kept herself hidden from the infected, only venturing out when she needed food or water. But when Kate is found by other survivors, being rescued isn’t anything like how she’d imagined. Now, trapped inside a town led by a man filled with nothing but evil, Kate fears for her life daily. She has access to food, water, and shelter, but she wants nothing more than to escape, even if that means she must live among the infected. The only problem is, she isn’t allowed to leave, and even thinking about it could get her killed. Will Kate be able to break free, or will she die trying?

I read this in one day something I never am able to do. This was like reading about a cult with zombies thrown in. I loved the ending will start next book tomorrow.

Great read

Not your typical zombie apocalypse novel but it still held me wanting to find out what would happen next. At the end I was wanting to yell out to Kate!

Set after she had already survived the outbreak, not much of a back story, a few things are eof to me a girl who was taken to the group against her will but takes over a year to decide to leave all of a sudden the leader becomes overly crazy very fast. I think the plot could have been planned out a bit better but overall a good read!

Decent

Story was entertaining but there were obvious mistakes with switching characters, and the narrative switched from third person to first person occasionally, which was distracting.

Great book, disappointing end

This book kept me on the edge of my seat. All the way up to the last chapter. While certainly the outcome I had hoped for, it was extremely anticlimactic.

Fun zombie thriller!

Interesting and unique take on the zombie genre. I like it when the focus is on the survivors and on their political situation and this story does just that. Looking forward to the next in the series.
