I couldn’t put this book down and can’t wait for the next one! I’m a biology nerd at heart and loved the main character and the plot. I found all of the characters were well developed and relatable. Even the less likable ones grew on me. There was certainly a lot of action (never a dull moment) and the story moved at a good pace. Overall, this was a great start to a new series!
Wow. Sci-fi isn't my go to genre, but I am so glad I picked this one up! As soon as the action hit, I couldn't put this book down again. The author clearly spent a good deal of time on world building and research, even with her background in science. I was really impressed with the authors ability to make even the most difficult scientific parts of the book easy enough for someone like me (aka NOT scientific) to understand and follow along. And actually enjoy it! That's a skill.
Storyline is awesome,STRONG protagonist, the action scenes were predictable and there was so much teenage angst that it took away from the storyline. Overall a good read with to many spelling and grammatical errors. Maybe due to formatting! I would recommend this for anyone to pick up on a snowy weekend.
Highly enjoyable. Love the story line and the characters! Written for a younger crowd and written very well. The story was believable with enough scientific "facts" that made sense. The tension between the characters and the relationships were very well written. I'll come back one of these days to see what these kids are up to!
Concept seems interesting but execution is poor. Reads at about a 7th grade level with huge plot holes and concepts never explained at all. Throws in mcgruffins in the middle of the action to try to increase the stress, emotions or "action" and never explains it or brings it up again. Very disappointed and will not be following the series.
"There were worlds of ideas that her textbooks didn’t begin to touch, and the luxury of her ignorance was expiring."
The Kepos Problem was a terrific read, full of interesting science fiction and strong female voices. It's a swashbuckling adventure with some great villains and a clever ending.
A gripping, interesting scifi story that finds a teenaged biologist and her friends on a mysterious planet teeming with unexpected life. Space battles, tragedy, the angsty stirrings of young love, AI, religious impostors, and more ensure there is enough content and drama to keep anyone entertained for the duration. Will read the next installment!
