2.5 stars.

Really annoys me when heroines are so weak. She was so angry at him but yet the second he touched her she forgot all about it. That just pisses me off.

First, I usually enjoy a sport romance, but this one just didn’t do it for me. Ethan and Mia met when she was 14 and his was 18. They both loved for each other but didn’t act on their feelings because of the age difference and the fact that Mia’s brother Will was Ethan’s best friend. Ethan leaves without an explanation. Fast forward 10 years and Ethan and Will are teammates and own a condo together. Mia hates Ethan because he is a man whore and major douche. The condo is flooded out and they end up staying with Mia. This is the setup for the romance. Why this didn’t do anything for me: mild domination pain stuff (not my thing); the sports part of this is not germane to the story; The sex is pretty degrading to Mia; and Ethan wasn’t that likable. I would pass on this book and read the authors other hockey books.

Ethan and Mia have known each other since they were teenagers and have had crushes on each other.. Problem? Ethan and Mia's brother are best friends and Ethan has some issues. They dont see or speak to each other in 10 years and then are thrown back together when Ethan needs a place to stay, along with Mia's brother.. The feelings all come back but Mia is hurt still and wants answers and Ethan is not really ready to give those answers.. Plus there is the brother.. It was not just a book about crushes coming back together there was alot of emotion in this read.. Love the way Jillian writes..

This was sooo promising. It started off pretty good and then began to tank. Ethan ruined this story for me. I did not care for him at all. I just found him so creepy. I cannot look over the fact that he was a high school grad lusting after a child who just left middle school. Freaking pedo.

Only got to 50% and gave up.

I am not enjoying the story nor the writing.

It is slow and drawn out. I kept reading hoping it gets better. It doesn’t...

When their apartment is flooded Ethan Waters and his roommate Will find themselves momentarily displaced, so they show up on Will's sister Mia's doorstep asking to crash with her for a bit while the repairs to their apartment are being made. Mia is reluctant to let them stay with her in her tiny apartment full well knowing that they could easily afford to stay at a hotel, but with a little sweet talking she finally gives in and lets them crash with her. Ethan knows it is going to be a challenge to keep his hands to himself around Mia, because they have a past, one with a lot of unresolved feelings and un-ignited passion, and he is dying to light that flame. Problem is lighting said flame could extinguish his friendship with her brother, and that is a line he just can't cross... or can he?

The moment Mia opens her door and sees her brother and his ass for a roommate standing on the other side she is ready to slam it in their faces, certain that they want something and will cramp her style. And true to her instincts she is right, their apartment is currently unlivable and they want to crash with her for a few weeks, while she doesn't so much mind her brother being there, she can't stand the thought of sharing her apartment with the man who broke her heart years ago. Until now she has done a good job at avoiding him, but him staying with her is going to be a real test on her patience and her heart! She plans to keep him at a distance, but he has other plans, ones that involve getting her naked, and she isn't about to let that happen... or will she?

More Than Roommates is a sultry little tale that pushes the boundaries of friendship, reunites long lost lovers, and rights the wrongs of the past. From the first page of this one you will be intrigued with these wonderfully crafted characters, and not long after your journey is underway will find yourself being wrapped up into their challenging situation, and all the emotionally rich drama that surrounds them. I have read other novels from this author, so I am well aware of the story lines she is capable of producing, but this one really took me by surprise, it not only had the steam factor I am accustom too, but it also had powerful emotion side to it that really packed an unexpected punch... one I thoroughly enjoyed. I have to say this might just be one of my favorites from her to date, the characters were amazing, the story line was engaging and spawned a serious case of the feels, and she left me surprised, (in a good way) ... and in my book it doesn't get much better than that! Highly recommend this one, it sure to leave your heart overflowing, and your knees weak!

I requested an advanced copy from the publisher, and voluntarily read and reviewed.

Mia has had a crush on her brother's best friend since she first met him, but then Ethan leaves town without a word immediately after his high school graduation. Fast forward ten years and Mia is an investigative journalist, struggling and trying to make a name for herself. Her brother, Will, and Ethan are professional hockey players and Mia does her best to avoid Ethan at all costs. That works well for her until Will and Nathan’s condo is flooded and they need a place to stay. With them staying at Mia's apartment, there’s no more avoiding Ethan. Ethan isn’t the same sweet boy she used to know, now having a darkness about him, but all those old feelings they both had for each other are still there and can no longer be ignored.

I always enjoy Jillian Quinn's books and was glad to get an early copy of this to read. Although I don’t understand why the whole older brother's best friend thing is supposed to be so taboo once the characters are adults, I guess it makes for an interesting plot and adds conflict to the storyline. I really enjoyed this story and I adored Mia's character. I liked Ethan well enough, but never fell in love with him the way I had anticipated. He was sexy and alpha and dominant, but at a pivotal point in the book, he makes his grand confession as the same time that Mia is, shall we say, cleaning his pipes. I can only assume this was meant to make both events more emotional, but it just ruined that scene for me. When he should have come across as broken and vulnerable, he came across as kind of a jerk. It should have been a tender, emotional moment that just felt strange. In spite of that scene, the storyline was great, the characters were well developed and realistic, and I certainly recommend it as an entertaining, steamy read.

I did receive a free ARC copy of this book in exchange for an honest review I am freely leaving.

In this book we have Mia, who is a newspaper reporter. She doing her first undercover reporting. She is also the babysitter of Will who is also best friends with Ethan.

Will & Ethan are on the Philadelphia Flyers hockey team and best friends. Mia, Will, Ethan all lived next to each other when Will & Ethan were in high school. Mia is 10 yrs younger so she was in mid school. At night after everyone was asleep Mia and Ethan would meet up in the backyard and talk about their days. Mia was in love with Ethan from the early age. Ethan was just happy he had a friend he could confide in.

Ethan left right after high school graduation. He never told Mia by. Mia never forgave him of course. Ethan and Will met up again at the Flyers training camp. Ethan and Will are roommates living together and working together. One night they went home and found their apartment totally ruined. The lady who lives above them fell asleep while in the bathtub and the water flooded their apartment!! Goodness what a mess to clean up. Will and Ethan show up at Mia’s apartment for a place to stay. Neither men realize how poor Mia is and her lack of funding to furnish her apartment, food and clothing. Mia works all the time but her paycheck is so low.

Ethan and Mia soon realize that being in such a cramped apartment their feelings soon come to light. Ethan wants to tell Will about his feelings for Mia. Mia says she needs to tell him. However, they don’t tell him and Will walks in on them naked. Ooopppsss.

Ethan and Mia need to work out what will happen for their friendship. Ethan needs to worry about the friendship with Will. Will needs to make sure Mia is safe before anything.

OMG Ethan Waters melted my heart, This story starts out with a tortured soul boy next door and
his best friends little sister is the only one who centers him, Mia. They meet every night out back of
their houses on the old swing set and share their day, Ethan is 4 years older then Mia but in ways
she is just as much his best friend as her brother is She is his Little Lamb. Mia has loved Ethan since she met him and
treasures their nightly talks. When Ethan tells her that he has to leave after graduation to go to hockey
camp she is upset, but when he peels out of his driveway immediately after his graduation "party"
she is devastated. You find out that a few years go by before he and Will both are signed to play with the
same NHL team are now not only teammates but roommates (they share a condo together) The few
times that Mia and Ethan have seen each other they are at each other's throats. She hates him for how
he left her with no goodbye. He pretends to hate her for his own good. BUT when their condo floods due
to an upstairs neighbor and find out they will be out of a home for a couple of weeks Will asks Mia if he
can crash with her, When she opens her door and finds not only her brother but Ethan standing there she
is not happy at all with the circumstances, IE her apartment is tiny and OH HOW is she going to stand being
in the same place as Ethan. One of her rules NO puck bunnies! Ethan and Mia slowly realize that the feelings
they always had for each other are still there. They hide this from Will but they cant hide it from each other anymore
This was a WONDERFUL hot sexy and sweet read I LOVED it!

Oh yeah, they're more than roommates alright.
Mmhmm! That was such a spine-tingling, heart heavy, laced with sexual tension romance I wondered if my Kindle was starting to sweat!
I could not take my eyes off the pages of this maddening tale!
The tortuous back and forth between Ethan the naughty Hockey Player with secrets galore and the devils advocate on his shoulder calling the shots, and Mia deemed the lamb, ready to be a lioness, also Ethan's best friend Will's sister is nothing short of mesmerizing.
Seemingly everything is against these two, no matter what they do, ten years have gone by and no matter what the past still rears its ugly head along with the uncertainty of the future and one's self-worth.
While I was frustrated by the sometimes juvenile behaviors of them all, The perfectly paced storyline was such a heartfelt, blistering heat sexy, humorous, engaging, melancholy read I could not help but be wrapped up in the lives of the magnetic, finely tuned characters. Following them along on a twisted journey through good and bad life has to offer was such an emotional rollercoaster! Any book that has me all tied in knots, full of butterflies and finding ways to cool down from the sweltering heat from chapter to chapter is one I want to read again and again!
One helluva good book! I highly suggest Checking this book out!

More Than Roommates is a second chance romance that features Ethan and Mia. Mia fell in love with Ethan when she was 14, but he broke her heart when he moved away without saying a word and came back as a first class jerk. Mia has been Ethan’s light in his dark world since he was 18, but has never felt like he deserved her, not to mention she is his best friends little sister. When his apartment floods, Ethan and Will move into Mia’s place, but will they be able to keep their hands and emotions separate or will their emotional history and sexual chemistry bring them together?

This book was really good and had an emotional draw. Mia seemed like such a sweetheart, driven by her job to always be curious, opening her whole heart to those she loves, and caring deeply. Ethan... it took me a while to like him. I think his history took a little too long to come out to help explain his jerk like tendencies, especially towards Mia, but once he did open up, I love how much he wanted to care for, protect, provide for, and love Mia. Their chemistry could be cut with a knife and their sexy scenes were intense and scorching. While I didn’t like how the conflicts of the book were resolved, I did love the ending and the epilogue! I really enjoyed reading this book and look forward to what may come next in the series!

Every time I read one of Jill’s books I always think, this is my favourite one of hers and she can’t top it.
Well I was wrong. She’s done it again.
I had the pleasure of receiving an ARC of this book and I could not fault one bit of it.
I loved the whole past and present aspect of the book. How we could see what the relationship was like between Ethan and Mia before they both grew up and grew apart before they finally made it together.
There’s also the forbidden aspect with this one, with the whole best friends little sister/off limits thing. These are one of my favourite types of genre cos you have the sneaking around and the whole blow up when everyone finds out and it just makes it that much more exciting!!
Mia doesn’t care for material things happy to live life in her apartment up above the Chinese and eat Cheetos and drink vodka from a bottle, but the only thing she really wants is Ethan.
Ethan is your cocky NHL player who has trouble dealing with past but has that soft spot for Mia that no one can touch or understand.
This book was beautifully written as is everything that Jill writes.
It’s fun, and sexy and deep in all the right places! You won’t regret picking up this one!

What a fantastic story!

I loved that Ethan and Mia started out as secret friends when they were younger, before Ethan disappeared without a word. But now he is back, bigger than life and cockier than ever, and Mia has to work through her resentment and anger at him for leaving her all those years ago. Add to that the smoking sexual tension and chemistry between the two and you have one steamy read.

There was always something between Mia and Ethan when they were young. Feelings and emotions that they could never voice because of Will, Mia’s brother and Ethan’s best friend. Their sweet childhood friendship and young, undeclared love has turned into something bigger and stronger now that they are older.

Thrown together in confines of Mia’s tiny apartment, the two dance around their unresolved feelings until it gets to be too much. Can one stolen kiss, ten years in the making, lead to something more? Or will secrets bring about the end of not only Ethan and Mia’s possible happy ending, but also a friendship that is more like that of brothers?

Pick up this fun, witty, emotional book today to find out how Mia and Ethan’s story ends.

Mia & Ethan have known each other for some time. As neighbours and schoolmates, they saw each other often and as they got older, the bond between them deepened. Despite a 4-year age gap, Ethan fell for Mia, but feared his past would hurt her. Deciding to be cruel in order to be kind, he leaves town suddenly after high school. He breaks Mia's heart by doing so, not bothering to keep in touch. When he reappears years later, he's a changed man, but nowhere close to the man Mia fell for all those years ago. Opting to turn off her heart, Mia ignores him. Everything is put to the test when he is forced to share an apartment with Mia. Old feelings resurface, as well as his past. Will the second chance he wants work out the way he plans?

This is a fun, low-level angst-y read that is extremely light on hockey, but heavy on love, heat & forgiveness.

I voluntarily read & reviewed an ARC of this book.

Mia knew that it meant trouble when her brother Will and Ethan, his roommate and best friend, are standing at the door wanting to stay with her for a week.    They are both professional hockey players so even though their apartment has been flooded they would be plenty comfortable at a hotel  however her brother guilts her into it even if the last person she ever wanted to room with was Ethan.

Although there is four years between them when they were younger Ethan and Mia were friends until he left without saying goodbye and broke her heart.   What she never realized was that he had deep feelings for her and stayed away as he believed that she deserved so much better than him.

Living in close proximity causes the feelings they had for each other to resurface but is Mia going to be left with another broken heart or is Ethan finally going to claim the woman he has always wanted?

Once again this author has written a story full of heat that also touches your heart.

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book for an honest review. Ethan and Mia have some history between them, they’ve known each other as teenagers and he just happens to be her brothers best friend who is off limits, but that still doesn’t stop them from crushing on each other, but when graduation comes and goes so does Ethan. As fate would have it, it would be years before she sees him again, and it brings back all those feelings for her and him, when she needs to suck it up and let him and her brother crash at her place for a while. Mia’s been avoiding Ethan for so long and now he’s front and center in her life, how’s this going to work? Will they be able to keep their hand to themselves or will they give in to the heat and the passion they feel for each other? What is Will going to think about this? So much happening, no spoilers from me, you will love this duet, it’s a definite must read!!

An addictive and intriguing sexy sports / roommates romance with a twist of a best friend’s sister

More than Roommates is a sizzlingly sexy roommates romance with a twist of a best friend’s sister, a sports romance, and a slight second chance between two former friends. This dual perspective book will have you addicted from start to finish as Mia and Ethan intrigue you with a hot chemistry, secrets, and drama as these two fight for their happily ever after. I’ll be honest and admit it took a little time to warm up to Ethan but once I did, I really liked him and loved the relationship between him and Mia.

If you enjoy well written and easy to read romances with a witty undertone and plenty of heartfelt emotion, definitely give this book a read. I really enjoyed it and would recommend to any sports, roommates, or best friend’s sister/older brother’s best friend romance fans.

Meh

It was fine. A bit anticlimactic. I wasn't a fan of how Mia was such a doormat all the time. I just couldn't really connect with her character. She was too easily used. I get that her attraction was hard to fight but it was way beyond that. There was no strength there as a main character. *spoiler* I also don't understand how Ethan's dad was such a jerk when all he did was send him away for bein a drug addict to get clean. I guess I needed more backstory to the whole Erik situation. But then why was he at fault when his bro was gonna die from the aneurysm anyway? There were too many holes in the story. Plus it just ended. Like this big blowup with Will was a bust, her story about the drugs was a bust, their whole secret relationship was all the sudden neatly tied up and good. Just felt too simplistic.

Another great book by Jillian Quinn. This story is about Mia and her brother Will's best friend Ethan. Their story spans over ten years within the book, so you know just how much they mean to each other from early on.
Ethan has plenty of secrets, and he is always evasive when Mia questions him. But after she lays down an ultimatum, he confesses what he has been keeping from her.
This is an extremely sexy book, but apart from all that, you can really feel the connection between Mia and Ethan all throughout the story. He didn't want to want her, but she was it for him.
Hopefully there will be a story for Will - he needs to find a woman that will bring him to his knees!!

Another awesome book by Jillian Quinn. I just loved Mia and Ethan love story. How they grew up as friends and later in life met again. Her brother Will and Ethan both were hockey players who played in Philly, so she was bound to run into him again, but she didn’t expect to see him at her apartment door. So much had changed between them and she was still upset with him because of the way he left. Ethan had a lot of explaining to do, to earn her trust again. And Mia wasn’t going to make it easy on him. Her brother Will, made sure Ethan kept his distance too. No one was good enough for his sister. But Ethan wanted her, always has, and was determined to make her his. This book was a page turner, one I couldn’t put down till I finished it. I am sure others will enjoy reading this too.

I loved this sexy friends to lovers with a second chance story with great characters, romance and intrigue. Ethan lived next door to her and was her older brother's best friend. On the night of their graduation, Ethan left without telling her why he was leaving or where he was going. She hated him for 10 years. When you are young and have a crush , well that person is your World. Mia Roman has a crush on her brother Will’s best friend Ethan Waters. Problem is, when that crush just up and leaves.....well you feel like your whole world has collapsed. Now Ethan is back!!!!! So is your anger. Are you angry at him for leaving or yourself for STILL having feelings for him.
Ethan and Mia, still dealing with unresolved feelings, emotions and secrets. Just loved how Ethan called her “little lamb” ....so endearing. Throw in the mix of drugs, stakeouts, keeping secrets from your brother it gives you one interesting story. Loved it.

If you love a friends to lovers and a second chance read then you will love Ethan & Mia’s story. Ethan & Mia always had something special but Ethan wouldn’t cross the line since he was Will’s (Mia’s brother) best friend but now Ethan is back and he can’t hide his feelings anymore. The chemistry is still there, their sex is smokin hot and I absolutely couldn’t stop reading their story. Ethan & Mia’s relationship was inevitable and there ending was perfect.

I really love following along with Jillian's Philly Flyers. These boys just keep getting hotter and hotter, especially with the addition of Ethan!! Ethan and Mia`s steam factor is off the charts and throw in Mia's hot manwhore brother, Will, and this story is near perfect. My only negative would be Mia's career/job storyline, it didn't really fit. Of course this is just my opinion. I am very excited to see Will's story, I really hope we get to see the manwhore tamed!! This romantic, sad, amusing and suspenseful. Ethan is cocky, mysterious, crass and broken. Mia is stubborn, headstrong, angry and loyal. They fell in love as kids, then Ethan disappeared and left Mia angry and brokenhearted. 10 years later has them temporarily living together, and constantly fighting an attraction and each other. There is some amusing drama and intense emotions, and a few twists. It's a great story with complex characters that I enjoyed reading.

Mia and Ethan are perfect together and they risk it all for love. How will her brother/his best friend react when he finds out about them?
