Amit Bagaria gives extraordinary insight into India’s past, present and future as the country develops into a major economic and political power. Rigorously researched and powerfully imagined, the book is an indispensable guide to understand India and its current politics. Dr Frank-Jürgen Richter Ex-Director, World Economic Forum; Founder, Horasis
The book is a brief history of electoral India. A well-researched book that maps India’s political journey with the relevant data points. A must read for those interested in electoral politics and the big question of "Who" in 2019. It is very detailed and will have a good audience. Advaita Kala Author, Almost Single, Laghbag Single, Almost There Scriptwriter, Anjaana Anjaani, Kahaani, Anaamika
This book was amazing to read. I must admit that it made very lucid, if provocative, reading. I always knew Amit Bagaria had an informed opinion on current affairs, but was floored with the depth of understanding and analysis. Bharat Goenka Software Evangelist, Founder, Tally
Amit Bagaria handles the extremely complex topic of Indian Democracy with amazing dexterity. His work provides in-depth information with accurate context, and is a good handbook for any student of Indian politics. This book helps you to navigate through the roads we as a nation have travelled over the decades. This is a must read for all aspiring political activists as they will be able to go through and understand the entire spectrum of ideological positions. The author has been successful in capturing the nuances and underlying paradigms in our socio political landscape. Rahul Easwar Philosophy Author & Lecturer, Activist, TedX Speaker Winner of Malayalam Bigg Boss, TV Anchor & Panellist
The book is concise and moves at a fast pace. Puts the whole gambit of political rulers in perspective that people tend to forget or conveniently brush aside. It helps revive those memories. A great read for the youth who have no access to this kind of concise information which has been strategically and deviously kept from them. It’s really good and the need of the hour. Amrita Bhinder Author, Corporate Lawyer & TV Panellist
His parents thought he was studying business administration in the USA. He was actually studying journalism.
His parents thought he was doing case studies on IBM and Pepsi. He was actually interviewing the Governor of Ohio or a convicted murderer in jail.
When he was a consultant for the Aditya Birla Memorial Hospital in Pune, he told Rajshree Birla and Kumar Mangalam Birla their offices would be in the Basement of the Hospital.
As an entrepreneur, Amit has been India’s No.1 Healthcare Consultant, India’s No.1 Retail Consultant, and India’s No.1 Residential Real Estate Consultant, apart from excelling in several other sectors.
As a Retail Consultant, he wrote prolifically for various retail publications. For one article, he interviewed several industry leaders, including Kishore Biyani, considered the father of modern retail in India. Little did poor Mr. Biyani know that Amit would lambast him in the article. The next time they ran into each other, Mr. Biyani told Amit that - being a fellow Marwari - he should have been less critical of him.
It was the same article that led a leading publisher to approach Amit to write a book - back in 2010, but that part of Amit’s life only began 7 years later. When he did begin, he did not stop or even pause. He has completed 11 books in 26 months and is now working on his 12th.
It’s concise & moves at a fast pace. Puts the whole gambit of political rulers in perspective that people tend to forget or conveniently try to brush aside. This book helps revive those memories.
Also, it’s be a great read for the youth who have no access to this kind of concise information as it has been quite strategically and deviously kept from them. I think only some political scholars would know among the youth or some history buffs. But the masses wouldn’t.
This book is an interesting and racy read especially for the young :)
There are many books which have come earlier which has discussed about politics. They would either give importance to one particular individual or talked about a party by glorifying it. This book 1914: NaMo or MoNa : Why is 2019 not 2014? is not the usual one. It does not glorify a single party and at the same time talk about one individual but the Indian politics as a whole.
The author Mr Amit Bagaria is known for his business and political acumen. Having done his best in whichever field he chose, the author who is a serial entrepreneur from Bangalore has come out with his first ever book on Indian politics which has already garnered close 14,000 orders at the time of writing this blog post(24th April 2018) which clearly shows as to how well this book has been written.
The paperback is of superior quality with glossy pages. What adds more to the beauty of this book were the illustrations and graphs that were being used which makes this book an even more interesting one to read. The graphs includes the poll results of some of the most voted polls in India,Asia and in the World since Mr Bagaria's ePollster company MyVoteToday is the World's 2nd Largest ePollster and there is no doubt that the usage of information was at its utmost accuracy. The facts and figures used in this book isn't an exaggerated one but actual figures, some of which would make you go bonkers.
This 250+ page is a classic entertainer and if you love politics, you would definitely fall in love reading this book. There are two more books to be released by the author soon. Keep a watch on this space for more information

Book Title: 1914: NaMo or MoNa : Why is 2019 not 2014? Author: Amit Bagaria Format: Kindle
Book Title: The title of the book ' 1914: NaMo or MoNa : Why is 2019 not 2014? ' is political and realistic.
Book Cover: The cover image of the book is a collage of prominent Indian Politicians in which few are most probable next Prime Ministers of the country.
Inside the book: Inside the book, the author has presented his readers with very well researched information with facts, figures, surveys, and unbiased opinions. The amount of information gives the readers a clear picture of how different the elections of the year 2019 will be different from 2014.
What I like: 1. The book serves as a mini-reference about the facts of the ongoing elections and the Modi wave 2. The analysis of many things which I would restrain from explaining here is done extensively. 3. Albeit being a regular news watcher I felt some facts know to me already, the analysis was attractive. 4. To the people who feel the media is a paid one, this book may suffice their thirst to know the things
What I didn't like: Although the book is unbiased, somewhere due to the present circumstances I felt the curve was going on a one-sided view.
My Final Verdict: A quick reference to understand the ongoing Indian Politics
Book Title: 3/5 Book Cover: 3/5 Inside the book: 3/5 Final Rating: 3/5
A very well researched book on the upcoming 2019 Lok Sabha elections giving facts, figures and surveys to explain why 2019 won't be like 2014 LS elections. The book covers a wide range of topics starting from history of Indian elections and the voting pattern to explain the Atal and Sonia era of politics and how Modi rule is very different from it.
The details of Yellow Metal Scam is a must read part of the book. What I liked most about the book is the bold and no holds barred language used by the Author which sadly is lacking in most of the political books.
Read it to have deep insights on how India is going to vote in 2019.
It’s a great book if you already have a decent knowledge of politics in India otherwise this is hard to read. I had to research all the people that are mentioned and most of the things that are mentioned in it too, for example the gold/westland chopper/NH scam I never heard about it before so I had no clue what it meant. And that’s how it was going for the whole book in every chapter which isn’t a particularly bad thing I just would recommend to research about the country political history before you start this book
It's a helpful resource for teenagers to learn about politics. It discusses the era of Sonia and Manmohan Singh and highlights major scams during that time. It also explores various scams and how politicians mislead citizens with false promises. The analysis of scams and harsh laws passed by the government shows their impact on everyday people. To know about political views of Indian parties and how they actually work - this is a good book to read.
This is really a well written book about current political scenario of India. Modi become PM with high hopes, and now when he is about to fulfill his promises, 2019 elections are on the head. What he should do to attain majority in 2019 is really very good read.
A pain staking put forward account of Indian Political scene and whole scenario of Indian elections and in author's own words "everything is available on google search nowadays" but to extract the right information from the black hole of vast data on google search requires patience, knack and a creative mind which is admirable in the author. The author provides the reader almost all the necessary information of the major political parties and the changing scenario of the Indian polotical scene and is more relevant in the event of the current elections. Though the content in the end seems a little biased towards a particular leader rather than party, still it is a good read if gone through without any preconceptions and putting aside your own and author's view. The book makes indirectly makes a strong appeal to cast your right to vote to which ever leader or party you choose. The detailed picture of the entire political scene is the USP of this book Than you @BookTasters for recommending this book and thank you Amit Bagaria for sending the ARC copy
It provides a comprehensive insight into India's past, present, and future, mapping the country's political journey with relevant data points. Praised by experts and thought leaders, the book is considered a must-read for those interested in Indian politics, electoral analysis, and the country's development. It's lauded for its lucid writing, depth of understanding, and ability to navigate complex topics.
I liked the fact that it stays quite straightforward even while stating well researched facts about the political history of the country.
As someone who keeps swaying in and out of news coverage of the political situation, this book really helps to keep up and gives a quick reminder of the past facts that are crucial to be remembered for any person who values his vote and doesn’t take it for granted.
(Ps- looking forward to read the author’s next book, about the unfortunate dead of the PM Lal Bahadur Shastri, which he is still writing)
Thanks to @booktasters for sending the ebook in exchange of an honest review!
Glad to read the Indian politics book written by a young Indian author. I like the book and the truth about the Indian politics written in the book. How the political scenario changes from Congress to BJP. Proud to hear about the fame of India and Indian prime minister boosts globally after 2014 when Modi led NDA government came in power. This book just gave the true picture of Congress and congress mukt Bharat. I think this is a great book to understand the politics for teenagers. Also talked about Sonia and Manmohan Singh era and covers some of the major scams in that period. The writer also suggests the winning formula for the NDA government again with more seats in the future election. Surprisingly one of his suggestions became a reality and NDA from the Government. Thank you Booktasters and writer Amit Bagaria sir for providing an awesome book on Indian politics.
I read this book in 2021. We all know the results of the 2019 election and this book was written prior to the 2019 election. The author has done very well & through research and many of the hypothesis (like 2019 election will be different from the 2014 election) came true. At that time, many political commentators were telling that the 2014 election was one off election and the 2019 election will be a normal election. The book focused well on a particular leader and in the end the image and popularity of that leader changed the whole election. It seems to me that the author has been an impartial writer and its very tough in these polarized world to be impartial. I would recommend this book to all the students of political science and those who are interested in Indian election.
The book makes you understand the reality of the Indian politics as to how, we the voters have been deceived all these days where in the dynasty politics thrived in tandem - both in the Centre and in the State.
A well researched book, the contents were the reality though we have been made to believe otherwise. Even if you hate politics, this book is a must read because as a citizen of India, you must know the truth and by bringing it in a real unbiased way, author has stamped his authority over the subject.
There are 25 chapters in this book. Each one talks about a different subject making this book an interesting read.
First and the foremost point about this book that made me want to keep reading is how well researched it is. From reviving memories of how our motherland was toyed and played with by the Gandhi family, to how we Indians have failed to vote for the right government time and again; this book hits exactly where it should hurt. Even though not too much into politics, i do follow the news and am glad I read this book because my reasons to stand by the fact that India needs Modi government more than ever has been proven right. A very well researched, greatly written book. The best part, it shows the true face of indian politics without any favoritism.
Not much into Political books but I must admit this book is great as it includes the political history of India since freedom. And it's especially a must-read for the youths of our country! A very-well researched book to explain why this year's election won't be like 2014's Lok Sabha elections. If I talk about my favourite part of this book, then it's definitely Yellow Metal Scam! This book is unbiased, bold and a much need of the hour. And above all, the author seems really concerned about the future of our country 'India'! My only regret is that I took a while to post this book's review, I wish I would have posted the review before the 2019 LS Elections!
The book truly presents with facts amd research about the political history of India. The past showing the mistakes of previous ruling parties and why Modi wave was such a hit. The present was well depicted too but I didn't like the sarcastic remarks made regarding the progress. Yes Modi isn't a magician to achieve years of progress in just span of 4 years but there were definitely set backs of the government which weren't that well highlighted. Also the part of future where statistics were shown of who would vote for whom was very one sided and felt manipulative. Overall the book was a below average read for someone who already keeps up with daily news and happenings. Nothing great.
The book was intersting for me because I hardly know nothing about the politics of India's past, present and future.
As India will become (or is) an economical power to count with it's a must read for every one who wants to know more about this wonderful country.
The author did his research very well, although it sometimes became a bit dry but writing about politics never is easy and perhaps it was a bit from a one side view.
Thus I recommend this book to people who are interested in history and the political situation of India.
I give a five star rating for this interesting - and for me unknown matter- story.
What a waste of my time!! This book is purely a political propaganda for the elections of 2019. Now that the elections are over, the book becomes absolutely irrelevant. The book speaks very highly of the development of 2014 -2019. Considering the fact that the present Indian scenario shows no development and no growth of GDP for the foreseeable future, this too becomes irrelevant. This book is just another of the undeserving glorification of NaMo and masquerading as non-fiction.
Facts presented in this book changed my perspective and I choose to support NaMo. "How can I share this book with as many readers as possible?" prompted me to write a review in the hope that it attracts attention!
A perfect analysis of Expectations met and not met by Modi 1.0
A thorough analysis of why we should vote Modi and why we should not vote Modi. It provides an overall view of the different political scenarios from past to present.
Currently.. It's elections time in India.. With election season is upon us. It doesn't take much time to read tbh....if you want to know indian election system..read it...It gives us insights of all political situation in indian...as a citizen.... I recommend every to read
