В 2017 році став Переможцем Літературного конкурсу імені Джона Буньяна[2]. Журі, до складу якого входять українські письменники — Юрій Вавринюк, Надійка Гербіш та Богдан Галюк, визначили Олексія Деканя з його оповіданням «Гіркі сливи» переможцем.[3]
На початку 2018 в видавництві «Брайт Букс» вийшов новий фантастичний роман автора українською мовою «Коріння Всесвіту[6]». Це сучасна українська хроноопера, космічна Одіссея, містичний трилер та історичний детектив.[7]
В 2019 у видавництві Перун було надруковано збірку «Алфавіт для Андроїда»
В 2021 вийшла аудіоверсія книги «Алфавіт для анроїда» для платформи АБУК. Також Видавництвом ТуТ була надрукованна Містична мешап повість за мотивами твору Івана Нечуя-Левицького «Кайдашева Сім'я проти зомбі». Книга одразу вийшла в 2х альтернативних обкладинках, у авторському виконанні, та в оформленні художника Андрія Данковича, автора коміксу «МОР». Цей мешап став бестселлером на Comic Con Ukraine, який відбувся в 2021му році в Києві. Перший наклад книги був розпроданий лише за пару місяців після релізу.
B 2022 видавництво ТуТ друкує оновленне вилання книги «Алфавіт для анроїда 2.0 , а на АБУК виходить аудіоверсія книги «Кайдашева Сім'я проти зомбі», текст читає Сергій Левчук, музичний супровід гурт Зграя

The mercenary and his comrades come to the city of Efil to solve the mystery of communication devices they've taken from the enemy. They explore the unique copper-plated steampunk city. Kamo takes the risk to go into the City Guard Academy while the rest of the group take a guided tour of the clock factory. And the Hand of Emikhol seems to be nearby...
The remaining elders of the Order of Emikhol (Farlok, Touf and Nervin) decide to take an underground road driving a vehicle that turns out to be .
Our groups of heroes have to deal with traps, betrayals and mysteries, escape from jails, run away from the city engulfed in rebellion, survive a Zeppelin fight. They come up with creative and sometimes hilarious solutions.
The Nurlin series is called a technofantasy and in this book we see both spaceships and magic. In fact, one of the scenes shows a bunch of necromancers hidden in a landing module. This is different from the first book which was mostly fantasy but it is not unexpected. In fact, technology and magic coexist in this universe and it feels completely natural.
We also learn why the main character was so reluctant to use his name, or any name at all. From the beginning he's been called "mercenary" or "Almogavar" (which is a class of Spanish light infantry), or "Kamo" (a name given to him by his friend Antonio). In this book we find out that his real name was Michael. He refuses to use it because he considers his old self dead, because of the seriousness of his sins, the betrayal of his values. But that is not the end of the story.
What I liked:
1) The illustrations are much better than they were in the first book. Here we have ink drawing instead of black and white photography collages. And the design is beautiful again.
2) Characters are deep and complex and they show their strengths and weaknesses in action. This is shown most prominently when the mercenary kills a bull in traditional corrida style, or when Minotaur Asterid is lost in a labyrinth.
3) Nice plot twists, several characters turn out to be different than they seemed.
What I didn't like:
1) The story of Raul, Marta's father. We get many hints about Marta's crucial role in Kamo's life, her ability to make him a better person. And because this is Kamo's story, it becomes apparent that Raul stands in the way of that. It seems like he must die because he lacks plot armor.
2) Kamo takes his gun to a blacksmith and asks him to improve it. And the blacksmith invents rifling (helical grooves machined into the barrel's internal surface to improve accuracy) in a single day. This is very far-fetched because normally it would take a long time to become familiar with new technology and even longer time of gradual trial and error to improve it.
