Nicole
He’s hot, and I want him to be my first, no matter how complicated or wrong it might be.
Jake is my only crush….ever.

I know my older brother though.
He’s always been overprotective.
He wouldn’t be okay knowing I’m sleeping with any guy, let alone his best friend.

It’s no secret my love life takes a back seat to my work and pretty much everything else in my life.

I’ve really only wanted it from one guy though, and since he and my brother are so close they are practically brothers, anything between us would be seriously off-limits.
It’s not like Jake is ever in one place long enough for something to happen anyway.
That is, until this week, at my brother’s destination wedding.
I know we’d be risking so much to be together, but if he ever put his hands on me I don’t know how I would stop it.

I should just forget it all, but my body just won’t listen.

Warning: “Wanting It: A Brother’s Best Friend Romance” contains mature language and scenes.
This is a standalone romance with an HEA that is intended for adult readers.

Nikki and Jake had wonderful chemistry. This story was so relatable with the age difference and feeling your way into a new romance. And, it was set in the beautiful backdrop of paradise.

Nicole Thomson had been besieged by wedding invitations this year. But this invitation to attend her older brother’s destination wedding could not be ignored. At her mom’s urging, she agreed to head there a week early to relax from her busy work schedule and enjoy family. Hawaii should be able to take her mind off of work!

Jake had just gotten home from his last photo assignment for the magazine, jet-lagged and disgusted with all of the junk mail waiting for him. Amongst the pile, however, he found a wedding invitation from his old friend, Brandon. He sort of envied him, finding someone special and settling down. Constant world-travel was wearing him down lately and he definitely needed a break. This wedding would give him much-needed downtime.

Nikki had invited her friend, Mia, to be her plus-one for the wedding. So Mia convinced her to go to a tourist club that evening. She encouraged her to wear one of the cute dresses she brought along, and did her hair and makeup. They danced with two guys they met, but Nikki’s partner held her too tight and put his hands all over her. He wouldn’t take “no” for an answer! Suddenly he turned her loose and she saw a bouncer have words with him and roughly force him away. She looked up to thank her rescuer and froze – it had been 10 years since she had last seen Jake Matthews, her brother’s best friend and her major crush, and all those memories came back!

Jake and Nikki spent time together getting reacquainted and trying to control the strong attraction they felt. Only Jake’s discomfort at knowing Brandon would be furious if he got involved with his little sister kept Jake from starting something – until even that couldn’t stop them. Where would this relationship lead? And what would Nikki do as she felt Jake start pulling away from her?

I enjoyed the story, but found the eco-friendly theme to be repeated far more often than needed. It almost made me put down the book before I got started, and it definitely was distracting rather than helpful to move the story along. Fortunately, I kept reading and let the rest of the story draw me in. I loved how Nikki cared about Jake from her teen years. The characters were well developed, and the tension of not being sure if they would pursue things kept the story line moving at a good pace. I enjoyed reading this.

This is the first time Ive read this author ,,,, I liked her story

This book is about Nicole Thompson, or Nikki as everyone calls her,,, she is originally from Omaha Nebraska, she is a 23 year old architect,,,, she graduated early, got her degree early and then got her masters early,,,, she has a brother, Brandon who is getting married to Clea Devaney and her parents were payng for everythjng, hotel and food, in Kauai, Hawaii, all they had to do is pay for the flight,,,, her dad, John, passed away not that long ago and now her mom, Caroline had to work more hours to try and make ends meet, so Caroline had paid for her mom's first class ticket,,, she also asked her best friend, Mia for her plus 1,,,, they finally get to Hawaii and settled in, Mia will join them tomorrow,,, in the meantime Nikki goes out to explore and sees her brother's best friend forever, Jake Matthews, whom she has always had a crush on,,,, there he was, live and in color,,,,, oh, this is going to be tricky,,,,

Jake Matthews is a 30 year old Professional Photographer who works for Woke Magazine for the chief editor, Marshall Pitt,,, He has been in the deepest jungles photographing child labor in mines and anywhere else there is a story, he takes the award winning pictures,,,, and someone else does the writing,,,, He, on a whim, decides at the last minute to go to his best friend, Brandon Thompson's wedding in Hawaii,,,, he gets there finally and looking around, finds Nikki,,,, Brandon's little sister, and she isnt a little sister anymore, she's a grown woman, and oh does she look good to Jake,,,,, How screwed is he now,,,, this is his best friend's baby sister, Brandon wont like him messing with his sister,,,,,, now what,,,,???

I have given you some of what's going on,,,, now, its up to you,,,,go out and grab this book on whatever platform you use,,,,I would totally recommend this book to anyone,,, it has anything in it you want, ,, and also that melt your reader steam,,, you won't regret reading this story,,,, I know I'm not,,,,,

This book was not my normal go to romance book as the characters weren’t my go to type. Although I enjoyed this book immensely and would recommend it to anyone. In this book you meet Nichole who is an architect but not just an average one she seeks out how to help build buildings in an eco friendly way that can also give back to the city. Then there’s Jake who is a photographer, but again not just you’re average wedding, family gathering photography. He likes to go off to Africa or some other country to take pictures from animals to kids that are forced to work. Then his magazine writes the story from his pictures and they try and raise awareness and help said kids. Nikki’s brother Brandon is getting married and Jake happens to be Brandon’s best friend from when they were younger although because of Jake’s job he wasn’t sure he could make. He ends up making a vacation of it and so does Nikki, they end up meeting and getting to know each as adults. This is the typical brothers best friend romance but it’s intriguing because of the characters. They both have interesting jobs, and are both career oriented, but they found they lack something and they find that in each other. The steamy scenes were well written and steam good enough to make you think back to that one night with a handsome man( or now husband/Boyfriend) but not too steam that i felt embarrassed to read. Not that there’s anything wrong with over steam books I’m just not there yet. Over all I’d give this 5 stars because it had a good story line, the characters were wonderful and exciting, and most of all at the end of a book I think would I read this again? Yes I would read Wanting It again.

Omaha girl, Nicole Thomson graduated high school early. Got her BA and MA early and as a young architect designed a 100 meter inhabitable plyscraper (a skyscraper made of wood), winning a million dollar grant to the city of Lincoln. She is a very busy woman, turning down one destination wedding invitation after another, until the one she couldn’t refuse- her brother, Brandon’s in Hawaii. This would be the first vacation in 10 years and since she had no time for dating, takes her best friend Mia as her plus one. She doesn’t know that, her brother’s best friend Jake, who she has had a crush on since she was 14, decided at the last moment that he would fly in too.

Jake is the chief photographer for Woke magazine. He travels around the world to dangerous places to expose child cruelty. However, at thirty years old, the traveling had gotten old and he was ready to find that special someone to anchor him. He needed a break and going to his best friend’s wedding in Hawaii was just what he needed.

Rescuing Nikki from a leech in a club, they reconnect, only she is no longer the pesky little sister of his best friend, but a beautiful desirably women. Could she be the one that he could build a future with? Will he return the feelings that she has had for him all these years?

This is the first book that I have read from this author. I received an ARC and this is my unbiased review. I enjoyed reading this book because of the endearing characters, engaging story and captivating scenery written with a skilled but light touch.

TALK ABOUT TAKING THE HARD ROAD!!!
Hey! Hold up guys. Here's the big one. Let me just jump right in. You know I'm good at that. If you're looking for an exciting, easy to follow, heart pounding, pulse racing, smooth flowing read that captures your attention from the start. Congratulations my friends you've found it. This is your next favorite read. It has it all, the rollercoaster of emotions, the storng storyline that keeps your attention on the pages and on the edge of your seat. Yep, right here. The characters were complex and believable. I followed the characters along as their personalities transformed and blended to become the person they're meant to be. The scenes were so realistic with such graphic detailed descriptions that draw you in and holds you stready. Did I mention a little heat? Oops, my bad. I meant white hot, off the charts, explosive chemistry that will rock you to your core. The fire is so hot you can feel the flames. A little advise though. When you get your copy. Grab a snack, a comfy seat, kick back and relax. You're not going anywhere until the last word. Its that good. Its ine read that I'll be reading over and over. This is a true mark of just how talented Scarlet is. She makes it seem so effortless and easy. Phenomenal job Scarlet and thanks for sharing.

Nicole's brother, Brandon is getting married in Hawaii and everything is paid for apart from the flight tickets there.  Nicole is taking her best friend as she has been so busy with work that she doesn't have a boyfriend.  Brandon's best friend, Jack, is a professional photographer and also a workaholic so goes on his own to the wedding. When he spots Nikki [Nicole] for the first time in years he realises that she is most definitely NOT a little girl anymore. But the best friend code won't let him go after Nikki as her brother would kill him!  But the attraction between them can't be ignored and Jack can see that she's as into him as he is with her.  Can they explore a relationship between them without her brother finding out?  Certainly the attraction between them is off the charts and this storyline, whilst not unique is well written and with interesting and believable characters that are very likeable. I enjoyed reading this book by Scarlet Wilder, the first that I've read by her, and I look forward to reading more of her stories. I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.

Scarlet Wilder knows how to write hot romantic tales that are also well plotted, well written and loads of fun. That was certainly the case with her latest, Wanting It: A Brother's Best Friend Romance. This is loads of pure romantic fun. It had just what I wanted, was well written, and had a great plot full of perfectly heated romance. I simply adored its leads, photo-journalist Nicole (Nikki) and architect Jake, and their wonderful explosively hot chemistry and were a pleasure to watch as they developed over the course of the pages. The cast of supporting characters were also simply superb. What more I could one ask for? But for the fact that I’m literally dictating this review to my husband from my hospital bed I could go on and on with praises - this book definitely deserves it. Since I can’t do that I will simply note that the book is most definitely one to read, it is easy to highly recommend.

It is a story that is almost beautiful because of the writing style and use of words. A story with a lot of passion, chemistry and feelings. It is very captivating. The characters are very likeable and well described. They develop nicely. The story is very predictable but enjoyable.

I like it is written in dual POV, which gives the reader both the thoughts and feelings of the main characters. That makes the story even more emotional and captivating. The twists and turns are so unexpected that they made it worth the read.

A story about Nicole that has had a crush on her brothers best friend for a long time. She wants him to be the first to do everything to her. But her brother is very protective. Nicole is a wonder woman. She has everything but not the one man she wants. Jake has also had a career where he had not got the time to find the one to settle down with. He goes to Nicoles brothers wedding. They meet and sparks fly.

Worth the read.

Brother's best friend romance is one of my favorite themes. Scarlet's WANTING IT did not disappoint! Scarlet's clever writing keeps you entertained with her humor along with the steaming chemistry between her main characters Nikki and Jake.

Attending her brother's wedding Nikki reconnects with his best friend Jake. Nikki has had a crush on Jake since she was 14.

Jake can't believe the beautiful woman he saves is Brandon's little sister. The gangly girl he once knew has grown into an incredibly smart, successful woman. Chemistry is instant but Jake is leary about the whole best friend code / dating your best friend's sister.

Nikki makes a life decision and Jake is the only one she wants to help her with it. Though there are many ups and downs I got my happily ever after. I must say I felt her brother & sister-in-law were tools, loved her mother!!!

Absolutely fabulous

I loved this steamy, romantic read. I fell in love with the characters Nikki a rising architect and Jake, a renowned photographer, who is also the BFF of her brother. They make a sexual connection, which is her first at the destination wedding of her brother to his fiancée Clea in Hawaii. When Jake gets an emergency assignment and leaves in bed with a cryptic note, she feels abandoned. After three months, he returns to the states and realizes he needs to make amends to Nikki and also realizes he is in love with her. It is the discrepancy in how long it has been since they were together in Hawaii. One spot it says three months, in other spots, he states that it has been years. To make a really great read, you cannot overlook the editing! I would still highly recommend this book for the scintillating, panty dropping storyline alone!

It started with a high school crush.

Jake is a photo-journalist for a magazine. Nicole is an architect. They both travel a lot for work and haven’t seen each other in years. Nicole has had a crush on Jake since she was a teenager. When they reconnect at Nicole’s brothers wedding in Hawaii, they find out they have more in common than they thought. This is a story of friends to lovers. The story is very well written and the characters are delightful. This is a story of love that has been waiting on the sidelines. Nicole and Jake have been concentrating on their own careers and haven’t been looking for that forever love. It’s like they picked up right where they left off from the last time they saw each other.

This is the second book by Scarlet Wilder that I have read. I have to say that this book is even better than the first one I read and the first one I read was really hard to put down.
Nicole and Jake have a previous relationship before they meet again. She was his best friend Brandon's little sister. Yes that kind of relationship. He saw her as an awkward teen and she is nothing like the girl he used to know. She is now a beautiful women and he knows he should not go near her, but he just cannot help it.
There is some really great chemistry between Jake and Nicole. Jake however is a little self-absorbed and almost ruins what they could have together.

Oh Nikki, a tropical paradise for your brother's wedding and the surprise arrival of your longtime crush Jake, what problems you face girl! Okay so he IS your brother's best friend , but I guess not having a brother myself makes it difficult for me to understand how this could be the major dilemma that they all seem to be facing. I get protecting the ones you love but Jake never seems like a bad guy from the beginning. I'm glad they hooked up but we know it never stops there, right? This wasn't too over-the-top and had a few steamy sex scenes that rounded out for perfect read. Just reminds you to make time for yourself and enjoy when a sexy gift is presented to you.

Seeing each other again, after 10 years, at the Hawaii destination wedding of her brother (and his best friend) Nicole (Nikki) and Jake don’t hesitate to act on the explosive chemistry between them. However, Nikki and Jake are both, somewhat married to their careers. When Jake gets a call asking him to help locate the missing photojournalist, who was covering an assignment Jake had turned down, Jake heads out immediately. Thus, the trouble in paradise really begins.

Fortunately, Nikki’s and Jake’s next separation is for months rather than years. Even more fortunate, is at the conclusion of their second reunion they both know the importance of grasping what life offers when you are with the person you want most to share life with.

The storyline was very well written, and included enough sizzling scenes to keep you intrigued.
Nicole always has had a crush on her best friends brother, trying to ignore the pull at her brothers wedding. Jake is a workaholic always traveling but starting to feel something missing. When he sees Nicole at his best friends wedding, he see Nicole and she is not so little anymore. He rescues her at a niteclub and can't ignore the chemisty. Can they get pasr all their taboos and work and trust. I really enjoyed this page turner.

I received an ARC of WANTING IT and freely offer this review.
I was asked to see if there were any editorial blips and so, in reading this story, I became really invested in it.
I really rooted for Nicole and Jake, and what was really good about this story is that I didn't at any point, become exasperated with either Nicole's or Jake's feelings, thinkings or actions, because they were both acting like normal people in love, without any sulking or OTT actions like you are likely to read in a lot of romance stories.
This was my first book by Scarlet Wilder and it certainly made me want to read more of her books.
Well done Scarlet! 10 out of 10!

She carried her love for him for lots of years. They all went their separate ways. And then come together for the wedding and she sees him again and the feelings are the same. But since he is her brothers friend when they get caught by him it changes things. I really liked the story and the characters in it. It was very attention getting. I hated to see it end. Jake was Nikki’s first crush when she was fourteen years old and haven’t seen each other for ten years. It was at Nikki’s brother wedding in Hawaii that they finally met again. It was Jake who came to Nikki’s rescue at a night club. From that night on they could not denied that there is chemistry between them. But before they can confess their love Jake gets a phone call and leaves Hawaii suddenly. The storyline was very well written. It kept you anticipated for more.

I received this book as an ARC from Scarlet.
I first want to say that this is a good book. The only reason I'm giving it 3 1/2 stars is because I just kept waiting for the wow factor that just never came for me. I also had a hard time making myself really like the heroine, there was just something about her that made me unable to connect with her. The hero was swoon worthy and it was a good story. I just wanted a little more.

Fun and quick romance. This story leaves the reader with a smile. The characters are nicely developed and the pace is maintained throughout the story. The reader is quickly swept along with Nicole and Jake as they rediscover each other, hit a roadblock and move beyond. The author gives enough detail to move the story along without bogging down the story -- the story being the reason to read the book. Definitely a feel good read. This is the first time I have read this author but it will not be the last.

Jake was her first and only crush and she wanted him to be her first. He was off limits as he was her over protective brother's best friend. Then they're all together at her brother's destination wedding. Well written with likeable characters and an entertaining romance. Guaranteed to heat up your kindle and keep it steaming. A good read that I read as a reader copy via Booksprout and voluntarily chose to write a review.

Will these two have a fling, will they not do it, because Nikki's brother is still so protective of her. Heck, if you can't trust your best friend with your sister, who can you trust. I say, go for it Jake and Nikki and see what happens!!!

Ethan and Sam are attracted to each other. Ethan's sister and Sam are friends and Ethan doesn't want to rock the boat especially when his relationship with his sister is tenuous at best. These characters are complicated at best. I love the interaction between these characters, they pull you in and it's awesome.
