Stan Harris was a force to be reckoned with in these parts of London. What made him different was the way he worked behind the scenes. At the same time, he was the mastermind. He pulled many strings, his stretch reaching into Essex, Ireland and the US. Nothing went on that he didn't know about. His brother-in-law had damaged too many people. He must deal with him as a matter of urgency. When deceit is rife among families, there aren't too many happy endings. Kyle Brown had a good teacher in his uncle. He was determined to finish what others had started. Stan may regret the day he took him into the fold. He was more than capable of breaking a few necks, and who was going to stop him? In a world full of deceit lessons had to be learned... and taught.
Trisha J Kelly was born in London in 1959. She has worked in various places. No longer confined to 9-5 she is living her dream by writing, receiving great feedback and wishing she started sooner!
After always wanting to write books for children she is now doing just that. Life should be an adventure and the new series of Scarlett and Mason fantasy novels are designed to take you on a roller-coaster journey full of magical escapism and enjoyment. It's all there.
Trisha lived in Colchester Essex for over 50 years and has now relocated to Suffolk. Married with two adult sons and sharing life with two naughty ten-year-old Lhasa Apso dogs.
Growing up with just one younger brother who was always up to mischief was all the inspiration needed to turn the book dream into a reality. Plus a big imagination. The first in the series Discovering Witchetty Waters will transport you straight to another place where you will want to stay forever.
Trisha has now released six books in the Scarlett and Mason Series ... Discovering Witchetty Waters...In the wrong lifetime...The Rise of Sorcha...When some were missing...The Great Storm of 1397 and The Mystery of the Ancient Key.
Also, Trisha has released two Christmas books for children. 24 Sleeps to Go and Blinky, Nutkins and Friends. Also in 2018, she published two crime thrillers. Harry's Secrets and The Conflict.
She received two awards in 2018 'Best Children's Book 2018 and Best Juvenile Fantasy 2018 for books in her new series.
In 2019 Trisha will be releasing a YA trilogy, cozy mystery books and a new cold case mystery series.
Author, Trisha J Kelly’s characters from the seamy, seedy underbelly of modern-day society outside London remind me of Fagan’s gang from Dickens’ 'Oliver Twist,' making their way in life by engaging in criminal activities. For the most part, Kelly’s characters are dishonest, disreputable, deceitful, and duplicitous.
Honor among thieves, and all, most grasp the notion that greed and arrogance lead to the dire consequence of payback time!
There’s plenty of shady business going on in this page-turner of a gritty novel, steeped in realism and told with frankness.
As for secrets, the fodder for extortion in this crime fiction/thriller—Harry Brown and Stan Harris take the cake! They’re not alone. With many of the characters gung-ho on righting a wrong, and getting what’s coming to them, there’s plenty of sneaking, snooping, and spying on each other taking place. Yet, some denizens, more than others have the deepest secrets to use for leverage.
Consorting with the likes of these denizens, I developed a soft spot for Rene and Vicky. And, although I wouldn’t want to cross Kyle, he earned my respect for his sense of fair play.
If you fancy a book with unpredictable twists and turns amidst cloak-and-dagger sordidness, I highly recommend 'Harry’s Secrets'.
I don’t like to give away plot details and spoilers in my reviews, so instead, I’ll just say that I loved how the author kept the twists and turns going to the end. Lots of intricate details and cleverness to the plot added to the story. I had to pay close attention to make sure I didn’t miss anything!
Absolutely loved this book! Took a chance with buying this and I'm so glad I did! I read it in one sitting, even burnt dinner as i couldn't put it down! can't wait for the next one!
