Member of an elite team that tracks Germany’s most dangerous criminals, she is astride team member Leon Keyes, fully dressed, in a hotel suite, about to have sex. Suddenly, they are attacked by several men.
For Jenny, no problem.
Catapulting herself straight up, Jenny breaks one man’s jaw with a rotating kick, thrusts her middle finger into his carotid artery, unhinges his wrist joint, grabs her Walther P99 and shoots him in the forehead so “half his head sprays onto the wall.” Then, in the next few seconds, she shoots and kills a second man and, as “his bared teeth are blasted away,” a third.
As Jenny gets shot, runs from the suite and runs out of bullets, you can repeat a similar fate for men numbers four through nine…..until eventually, man number five reappears, shoots Jenny in the shoulder, and then, as she lies on the floor, his “boot hits her temple full force.” Her world goes black.
That’s what happened to Jenny Aaron ten years ago in Rome — action recounted in the opening pages of the Jenny Aaron thriller A Shadow Falls by Andreas Pflüger, being released in the U.S. by Dover Publications.

Oh dear. I did have high hopes, but an elite group of professionals to fight crime was a good start. The first mission in the book the main character is completely unprofessional and the man she is protecting is killed. Does she lose her job - no, is she reprimanded - doesn't appear to be and still respected by her peers! Really! Another mission, well planned and then changed at the last minute, when it is obvious to all what will happen. Elite professionals, definitely not. Too slow for me and very disappointing.

Enjoyed this book very much. Had to work to get into it and, having not read part 1, a lot of catching up with the back story to do. But that is my fault, not the writer’s. Some lyrical writing here and a whole credibleworkd brought to life. Some great characters and believable banter. Great read.

The way this man made me connect to this blind woman i amazing. Even tho it's an german translation to english, the precision, the drama, the flavor. I was literally reading the book and felt blind at the same time, like.. i just can't explain. A must read, can't wait for them to translate the rest two parts in English. FIVE STARS
