What If? is a book about celebrating each and every individual no matter who they are. It tells the kids that everyone is amazing in their own way. It has rhyming sentences with big and fun font and some great colored pictures.

You see, being different is special and can give your spirit a lift!

I really liked the rhyming and the message but I felt some sentences were repeated. A fun book still.

This is a saccharine and preachy book about celebrating one's uniqueness. It panders shamelessly to the push for more diverse books but offers nothing of real substance. In my experience, kids think of themselves as pretty great; adults are the ones who suggest it might be otherwise by writing books like this.

This cute little book is a splash of color with big bold fonts, intended to highlight the importance of uniqueness. In rhyming text, we see page after page of truly unique animals. For example, there's a puppy with two difference colored eyes and an extremely tall giraffe. Adorable pictures with a simple message to see differences as unique and interesting. But the book quickly takes a downward spiral with pages and pages of didactic preaching (you're special, you're beautiful, life is a gift, if we were all alike like would be boring, everyone is special, we are one of a kind, show the world who you are, let your you-ness shine...) without benefit of story or even cute illustrations. If you stick with the story, you might as well, it returns to a friendlier, gentler, even funnier message of why being different might be helpful, interesting, and fun.

Childlike illustrations of happy animals and a message that is so familiar now as to be generic: Everyone's different, everyone's special, be unique and be you because you are great. Perhaps all of these lines won't be so familiar to the tiniest tots, but slightly older kids and adults will be well-acquainted with them.

I didn't like this book. It kept delivering the message that it's okay to be different but there was no story- just message. I also didn't like how the monkeys were only being silly with other monkeys. And the sheep were just with other sheep. It didn't really go along with the story that everyone should be different since most of the animals stayed with the animals they were mostly the same as.

Super cute book about embracing differences and how being unique is what makes us special. Would be great for early childhood students as vocabulary is simple and some of the words are large so easier to see

I liked “What If?”, especially the bright illustrations. However, I felt like it ended halfway through the book, but it kept going.
