Long ago, during the Great Purge, the witches that had grown too many in number and too powerful, were destroyed. The high fae council saw that the balance of good and evil had been tipped too far in one direction and it had to be rectified. So they killed all of the witches, and their creator…or so they thought. But they were wrong. Volcan, the high fae, who had once been a member of their council, until he decided he wanted to be all powerful and created the witches, had bided his time, hiding in the Dark Forest. Now he’s back and hell bent on rebuilding his army of witches. Only this time he’s set his eyes on the gypsy healers to be the tool from which he creates them. He already has two of the newly found healers, Jewel and Anna, with his blood running in their veins. And though he thinks he’s got it all planned out, what Volcan hadn’t calculated into his formula of healers + his blood = witches, was the healer’s mates, Dalton and Gustavo. Both males are more than ready to sink their teeth into the high fae who has taken their females. With the darkness closing in on all four of them, it is a toss up as to who will succumb to it first. Mean while, the healers and wolves Peri had stashed in the pixie realm are sitting ducks with the Veil between them and the human realm locked. The mates of those healers are holding onto their self control by a thread as they try to figure out a way to get them out of the pixie realm. Perizada is once again fighting for those who are under her protection, while at the same time trying not to kill them herself. Considering the healers tend to do stupid heroic stuff and the wolves just do stupid stuff period, it’s not certain who will destroy who. The only thing that was certain; none of them was willing to surrender. Throw in a powerful, eccentric Djinn who has suddenly gotten bored and things are guaranteed to get messy. This is the continuation of the story of the five gypsy healers, the fae who protects them and the wolves whose wrath will consume any who come between them.
Hello, Readers. My name is Quinn Loftis and I am lucky enough to call myself a novelist. In 2011, I self-published my first novel, Prince of Wolves with no expectations, other than my friends and family might purchase the book out of pity. Now, several years later, with 30+ novels and counting under my belt, Prince of Wolves had been downloaded over 1 million times. Though I was hesitant at the time to submit my work to the world for their scrutiny, I'm so glad I did. It made my dream of making a living by telling stories a reality.
I'm blessed to share my household my wonderful husband of more than twenty years (who also co-writes with me on occasion), three beautiful sons, a French Bulldog, and an oversized tabby cat. I love hearing from readers, so if you have any questions about the books or my journey, don't hesitate to hit the 'Contact Quinn' in the menu above. Thank you so much for taking a chance on my books.
I usually love Quinn’s books. The problem is that the mate bond is the driving force that keeps the books entertaining. This book had very little of that. It seems that time is getting distorted in the books (as in one day takes chapters and then three months takes pages). I’m going to keep with the series for as long as I can, but the plots are getting recycled and it’s starting to dry up. I hope for the sake of the previous books and the quality of the story that both the Grey Wolves and Healers wrap up soon.
That said, she may be able to pull spinoffs for the people we’ve seen who have unfinished ends, but the main plots (Volcan and the Burning Claw) are getting tired.
This book is passably good, but I honestly feel like everything that happened in it could’ve been shortened, and additional action/plot should’ve been added.
Okay no. Just NO. LET’S start with the good part. Heather and her mate. Period.
Here go the BAD PARTS. As a native Spanish speaker I didn’t appreciate how Quinn didn’t even bother to consult Google translator. No. There’s no excuse. Verbs and sustantives badly conjugated. Crying-tears-of-blood Godawful grammar. She wasn’t even trying, seriously. It was like a fanfic, I could’ve written it.
Second. She’s delivering lot’s of mating bonds at the same time you can’t even ship one before she changes the POV.
Third. Nothing gets done. NOTHING. The story just doesn’t go anywhere. This Review is actually painful to write, I get she needs ways of making some money and stuff....but this is just disappointing. She’s losing credibility, and I hope it doesn’t affect her career.
That this book is rated with a 4.6 and Marissa Meyer’s “Renegades” is a 4.08 with an action packed SL, or Margaret Rogerson’s “An Enchantment of Ravens” is a 3.7 with that magnificent lyrical prose, shows what’s wrong with the world. It’s not fair to rate an effortless book like this with more than 3 stars only because you think the characters are hot.
This is a joke. I’m finishing these series only because I can’t stop reading after going through the whole lot, and I’ll be burning my eyes after it.
And if I had sintaxis or gramatical errors during this review I don’t give a damn just as she didn’t give one. I was about to give this 2 stars because I got the Heather mating part but it really deserves 1 because Jen isn’t here to save you and you trying to turn Heather into a mini Jen didn’t work and wasn’t appreciated, thank you. Peace.
I was very disappointed with this book. Felt more like a novella. I'm used to Quinn's books having a purpose or an ending but lately it's been constant cliffhangers.
I also feel as if the books are being dumb downed a bit. Some of the banter is becoming a bit childish. It worked in the grey wolves series but not so much here. Also, it just seemed the story was dragged out for no reason. The jury is still out pn Thad.
That being said here is what i did like. You learn more about Jewel and Anna. You see more interaction from the gypsy healers and their mates. The interaction w the mates is always everything. You also learn about Z and Sly and find out what is making them help Volcan even though they are nice to the girls. Anna and Jewel get to see that there is more than meets the eyes w their mamas.
It was a decent book and one to pick up if you are a fan of Quinn's BUT it was missing her usual magic. With the others i never fully felt they were totally YA and anyone could read it. This time ard meh. However, i am hooked on the series and can't wait to read the next book. I just hope its a bit more developed than this one turned out to be. I still love Quinn and this world she has built, just expected a little more.
I want to start by saying that I have read every single book in each series related to the grey wolves, Gypsy healers and fae. I have grown to love each character and all the intertwining plots. Each story is captivating on it's on, but together it pulls you in like a spider on it's web. I have enjoyed all the humor and witty banter since the prince of wolves which I have read a handful of times. I enjoyed it so much. I'm invested in these characters lives. I even read the forums between them on Quinn's website during book release breaks. I said all of that to say how truly disappointed I was with this book. Nothing took place in the story that couldn't have been Included I another book. Their was no development. No action! No true desire or passion. These are the things that bind us to the wolves and their mates. Also we waited the ENTIRE book for Peri... Wtf was that about. Then she finally shows up without an explanation and it's only to sacrifice her life. I don't buy it. I feel so cheated out of a true plot driven story. I feel like these gyspy healers are taking on the same character traits as Sally, Jen and Jaqueline. Didn't like that. The sneak peak at the end with Sally was more engaging that the entirety of this story. I am looking forward to the next one simply because my heart is invested in these characters and can't walk away without closure.
I love the grey wolves series but this book was really bad. My first language is Dutch, so most of the times I can pass the grammar errors or spelling mistakes.
But this time I couldn’t do that, I got so frustrated by the errors. Sorin was with the wolves left at the house, suddenly he was in the pixie realm. I couldn’t read this book. This is the first time this has ever happened to me.
I still love the characters, the story is good. But the errors in the book just took away the love I have for the series.
I fell in love with Loftis’ series The Grey Wolves, and the Gypsy Healer series runs alongside it, with some characters mingling with each other.
I don’t like giving books 3 stars or less, especially with an author I adore, but I just had to for this one.
Very little happens in this book, besides some very angry male Wolves trying to get their mates (who they haven’t met yet) out of a realm that has been locked. I found myself wanting to skip ahead (though I resisted) because I just wanted to see when the wolves were united with their mates and the no doubt hilarious and sarcastic interactions.
I think Loftis was focused more on the Grey Wolves Series storyline, as considering the order of when this series and the Grey Wolves books were published, it seems to be quite a short period between books. It might have been a struggle for her to write more than one at a time, and therefore focused on book 11 of Grey Wolves as it is a more developed storyline.
That being said, I enjoyed the character development and the hilarious commentary, especially the running commentary the group of friends supply to the “blind chick” so she isn’t left out of the loop (heather is my favourite character in this series).
I’m still going to finish this series, as there is only one left anyway, and I do enjoy the storyline and am intrigued as to where it will go. Fingers crossed!!!
I thoroughly enjoyed this latest installment of the Gypsy Healer series, though I wish that Sally would have been in this book as well, given how heartbreaking her situation was from the last book. I’ve loved Sally since the beginning of the Grey Wolves series so it was disappointing to not have her in it. BUT it was great getting to know the new gypsy healers a little better too!
I've read the other 3 books, but in reading this one it felt like information was missing. It almost seemed like I was supposed to know about situations I didn't know anything about. I stopped reading the Grey Wolves after book 8 because I lost interest. If I was supposed to keep reading in order to understand this series then forget it. It'll be the last one for me. Plus, 4 books in and the couple from book 1 only now are together??? No thanks.
I enjoyed this book. I liked the humour throughout this book, even if it does get a bit repetitive. It still made me smile. During this book Jewel is starting to slowly lose herself to the darkness, as Volcan’s dark magic is infecting her. Jewel turned Anna into a witch as the magic made her do it. Jewel and Anna are now both witch and healers or wheelers as their warlock guards Sly and Z call them, left Farie and they ended up in LA, with Sly and Z protecting them and kept them on track to do Volcan’s bidding and start turning women into witches, so Volcan will have them to do his bidding. They have to turn witches, otherwise the magic will end up killing them. Jewel and Dalton’s bond is still severed so she doesn’t even have their mental bond to be to speak to him telepathically. Anna at least has her mental bond to talk to her mate Gustavo. She keeps her bond locked most the time due to being ashamed with what they’re doing.
When they choose their first women to turn into a witch they try the spell but they end up absorbing her memories and the women drops dead. During Anna’s grief Gustavo reaches out to her telepathically to try and help her deal with it, as that’s what true mates are for but she wont let him. They try again with another women but the same thing happens again. Anna tells Gustavo what happens. Volcan shows back up and doesn’t like it when his orders are being disobeyed so he teaches them a lesson. They end up being t*rtured by Vampire with a Fae Blade. Gustavo can feel Anna’s pain through their bond, and completely looses it which isn’t good considering he’s trapped in the pixie realm with the new healers, and Crina and her mate Adam. Gustavo nearly attacks Crina but Adam uses his magic to trap her and the healers while fighting with Gustavo. They both only end up with a few scratches as Anna reaches out to Gustavo and calms him down.
Thad the djinn uses his magic to unlock the pixie realm, and Elle flashes in so they can finally leave. I think Lucian did the right thing for the punishment for Ciro, Kale and Nick for disobeying his orders and leave Fairie to go hunting for their mates. They were told that the pixie realm had been closed so they spent 2 days trying to find the realm. I have no idea what they were thinking. Lucian used an ancient form of pack magic and told them that when their mates are finally out of the pixie realm that they’ll be able to scent them, but not talk or touch them and that includes their mental bond. All I can say is Peri is completely selfless, and would do absolutely anything for those she cares about. You’ll need to read this book to find out what that entails. I’m looking forward to reading Forgotten Silence (the Grey Wolves Series) novella and finding out how Sally and Costin are coping with the aftermath of what happened during the Burning Claw. I’d definitely recommend this book, series, universe and author to everyone.

The theme of this book concentrated heavily on patience and sacrifice, what that means to all of the characters and how they cope with such emotions when fighting against evil. The balance of good and evil is tipping with the result being catastrophic if evil prevails. The many different characters perspectives is always appreciated and concentrated on the main characters of this series with special appearances of other major leads. Things started off stagnant in this book with a little action happening in the middle with massive territorial drama fits, exciting epic reveals of minor characters and finally a plan in the brewing at the end to save those in the clutches of evil. The romance between all the characters is always adorable and sweet, the devotion always humbling. The male leads are unabashed in their affections and always respectful of their mates and their lack of knowledge for their cultural world. Their support is always unwavering as they fight to protect and serve the ones meant for their souls, with the ladies gradually accepting what it means to be a Gypsy Healer and true mate to the Canis Lupus species in the most magical way. The interaction between the characters is always amusing, their mannerism and behavior reflecting that of an impressive immaturity level is astounding. The innocence in this book is endearing though with the story building and world being unique.
I was wrong when I said that She couldn't surprise me when I started book # 3 of this series. This book went well above the last one. This addition was so much darker and I lost tears, frustration and a lot of sleep while reading this series. Please don't let this be the last book in this AMAZING Series, It can't be the end Quinn wouldn't do that to her Loyal, Devoted Reader's. I have read every thrilling addition to the Grey Wolf Series, Number 11 coming out soon. There has to be more... They have to defeat Volcan and end the Evil Horrible things that he and his Vampire cohort have done to Jewel and Anna. They have to put an end to his dastardly plans for the world at large and the supernatural beings that share it with us normal human beings who don't know who or what live next door to us. Wouldn't my parents be surprised to know that we are sometimes surrounded by Elves, Vampires, Werewolves, Witches, Warlocks and the occasional Creature guarding a vale to the underworld under a bridge... There is a whole other world that we know nothing about just waiting around the corner. I for one hope it's as wonderful as Quinn makes it out to be in her Grey Wolves and the Gypsy Healers book series. I would love to be loved and adored by a hunky werewolf, Warlock or Elf King out there. Wouldn't you ???
Just as I titled this review......Riveting.......Quinn Loftis has really done more and more each time she writes she pulls you in to each of her books and she has you meeting her character's, seeing their moos reactions and you feel as you're there. Each book she writes is more .....I can't think of the words but once reading Prince of Wolves you were hooked but as you read each following book you're involved with the character's so much that you're laughing out loud, you're crying in tears of sadness, pain or in happiness along with the character's. I have always been a fan of Quinn's books and always preorders them because she gives so much of herself in each single book, character and plot. That just shows how much she enjoys writing. In Wolves of Wrath she had me aching with the pain that Anna and Jewel were going through, had me laughing with the antics of Heather, Stella and Kara are around their mates and when Lucian gets back at those mates who disobeyed him.. just as Peri would of done. When I got to the end I was upset that it was over but in the end I knew that Quinn would have the next out soon so if anything reading this book is worth more than 5 stars. .. now to start rereading from the beginning so that I'll be ready for the next Quinn sends out
Jewel is losing herself to the darkness in her. Volcan has such a pull of her now that she cannot see the light. Dalton is all she can hope for but the bond is broken and she is losing hope.
Anna is feeling the same as Jewel and the shame she has that she is now marked by Volcan is messing with her. Gustavo doesn't care what marks she may have from the evil fae, all he cares about is his mate, Anna.
Heather, Kara, and Stella are finally freed from the pixie realm. While that is joyfully they are now in the sights of their own mates. Kale, Nick, and Ciro have been waiting for their mates and now must win them over. Not only that Peri has told them of what is needed to help defeat Volcan, and it's their mates.
I love this series and how it is progressing. The more we find out the more complex the storyline is. The question truly is will good prevail? And will those who believe in goodness continue to fight for it?
Lots of running around trying to do impossible things that finally become possible. Lots of angry, jealous wolves trying to behave themselves and getting frozen in place or punished in some way. Lots of traveling around here, there and everywhere. But not very much romance and life-mate connection stuff.
I hate how these end without anything really getting accomplished, with a minor cliffhanger. Yes, they did get all the couples back together but that seems like to secondary thing to the main battle.
Footnote: 1) Not having Jennifer, Jacque and Sally in this with their constant, annoying teenage quips makes it easier (for me) and more fun to read. There’s the two warlocks but they’re not even half as bad and I can ignore them easier.
Fave scenes: the fortnight punishment, the airport bathroom race, the Salem museum and the bathroom attack.
I loved the entire series. This book made me laugh, smile and cry like a babe! I loved the healers different quirks. They are alike in some ways but so different!
The wolves gentleness and their ferocious and protective ways. The love like no other. Sometimes you just do things out of love and you will see how this plays into the storyline.
See the characters love of friends and family. You will find that family members aren't always blood related with all of these characters! This author is beyond my expectations and I will be following her and her work! She's really good and her way with words is beyond what ever experienced in a long time.
We will always have evil and darkness in the world but we can choose to see the light and goodness! We can pick which side to be on! Where will we go from here?
Oh my goodness.... wow. Literally have just finished this book and I need to get a couple of thoughts down now! So many things to process and think about, and I’m not sure of the order but heck what a fantastic series this is, I can’t get enough! So this time we’re picking up where we left off with Volcan and the fight to destroy him once again. I’m so glad that Jewel and Anna are ok as they can be, and finally are back with their mates. I’m excited to find out how they are going to go about their plan, and I have so many questions and possible scenarios about the outcome. Is the conclusion to this in the next book that’s unwritten, or being written? Is it in the burning claw book that is next in my reading list? Help!
FINALLY! Just finally is all I can say about this books, Jewel and Anna have been through so much in this series and I was getting to the point where I didn't know if they would even get the happiness they deserved. BUT IT HAPPENED! I'm not going to spoil this for anyone, but I'm very happy with how things are going so far in this world. Is the evil completely gone? NO. Are they all happy? No. BUT it's going to happen; and when it does, I'll probably cry like a child who just had they're favorite toy taken away from them. LOL I'm totally not joking...
I've said this before, and I'm going to say this again... Quinn Loftis is an amazing author. My mom is instantly lifted once I start one of her books. Can't wait for the next in the Gypsy Healer series!!
Anyone who is looking to read a book that can destroy you, I mean rip you apart till your crying like a baby this is a book and series for you. We follow Jewel and Anna as they travel the country under Volcan's control. The girls struggle to hold onto their humanity fighting the darkness that grows inside them. As if that's not enough of a hook they also have dominant sexy mates who going crazy to find them , a high fae flashing here there and everywhere and the world is going to hell in a hand basket.
Quinn loftis is a brilliant author she has created a world and characters that feel real and you can't help but want to fight along side. Reading these books is inspiring and I really hope you enjoy it half as much as I did.
We continue our plunge into the healers world and their adventures, these characters are now reminding me of the original ones (jen, jaque, sally) but in a good way not that they are copies of them just have elements of the same which is nice.
Jewel and Anna continue their journey through the dark side of things to what end, we don't know all we know is they must see it through. No one wants to cross a crazed fae. There is love, tragedy, loss, gains Buckle up and put your brave face on these girls got gumption and they will not give in you will not break them.
Will they figure out how to make witches? Will the crazed fae just kill them and find replacements? Will Perri fairy find them in time? Will they ever see their mates? Stay tuned and find out.
How can you not fall in love with each character Quinn Loftis writes about? She makes them seem so real that she draws you in with every word that is written. She makes you laugh, cry and laugh until your family looks at you as if you're insane! All of these characters have problems with themselves. It isn't until their mates finally find them that they realize they are to be loved and cherished like they have never felt before. Quinn has a way that makes you become these people in her book and beg for so much more! Or is that just me?! I will be waiting for the next book very impatiently!!! <3
I used to love the grey wolves series but there’s now something like 12 main books and 10 side series books and the only plot seems to really be the mating bonds which I’m over I want to see more action happening also there are so many characters now that it’s hard to keep up we don’t get much one on one time with just one main character so it’s hard to form any attachment to the characters I think at this point even if one of the original characters ie ( sally, Jen or jack) if one of them died I don’t think I’d care anymore
The one saving grace of this book is the fact she’s written a blind character that’s the one interesting thing happening
I had been waiting so long for them to meet their True Mate and I'm so happy it finally happened. But I feel bad for Jewel and Dalton because of their bond being destroyed by Volcan. But I hope that in the end of the next book they'll somehow get it back. But that all come down to Peri's plan to sacrifice the healers and their mates... I wonder how that'll go. And I can't wait to read about it.
I've decided to give this book 4.75⭐ because I felt like the witch aspect with Anna and Jewel running solo was a little boring at times. Because it was almost the same thing over and over.
This entire review has been hidden because of spoilers.
I'm honestly so disappointed in Quinn for this book, it dragged sooooo much unlike the others and the only reason I grace it with 2 stars rather than 1, is due to the mate bonds that I 1000% ship (mostly Ciro and Stella) and even then, they are barely given any screen (book?) time for their characters and storylines to develop before being forced back into reading a boring and rather repetitive fight against Volcan :/ something tells me this could be the last time I read the gypsy healer series after such a disappointing novella.
This book is pure awesomeness! I love all the healers, wolves and far. Quinn out did herself with this story. She takes you on a roller coaster ride with the story. As soon as you think it is going one way she rips the rug out from under you. Filled with lol moments and moments that leave you in shock and thoroughly angry lol. Such an awesome book as her others are. If you haven't read the series or this book yet you need to start it today!
Once again Quinn Loftis delivers a book that delivers greatness with every page turned!! I love all the twist and turns that this storyline has taken. The relationships being formed between the gypsy healers and their mates are awesome and each one as unique as each of the countries they come from!! I absolutely can not wait until the next book!!!! This series is a MUST READ!!
Another great story from Quinn, I love these characters and it was fun to see how the male wolves dealt with their new mates in different ways. I especially loved Kale. Plenty of action, left on a build up for the next book, hopefully we won't have to wait too long to find out what happens next.
Another great edition , I can't wait for the next book. This series involves many characters and I have fallen in love with all of them. It is funny, sad, scary ,exciting and emotional. I love it because it gives examples of pure kind and patient love. I highly recommend it.
