4 STARS!
"You're mine, no matter what they think."
It's been a while since I've read a book by this author . . . I'd forgotten just how good she is!

Plot in a nutshell: Sally takes a job as a personal assistant at a law firm because her test anxiety is making it next to impossible for her to pass the bar exam. Dane, her new boss, is a newly-minted partner whose father (also a partner) is the office lech.

Their attraction is immediate . . . and problematic since neither of them is the type of person to dive into the taboo world of a boss/employee relationship.
Whatever it is that exists between us, it's not degrading, it's not illicit, it's not manipulative in any way, shape, or form. It's real, and nobody can take that from us.
Martin's writing, while a bit long-winded at times, rings with maturity and intelligence . . . and better yet, her heroes walk that razor-thin Alpha line, never falling over into disrespect, but they're definitely take-charge. Dane was all kinds of awesome in this one.
There's something about that man in a suit.
If you like office romances, I definitely recommend!

I'd give this book more than 5 stars if I could! The Bridgewater Case is a book I've been anticipating for days. It'd been a while since I last read something from RC Martin and I was really craving this one! This is Dane and Sally's story, a story of two people falling in love in the ruthless world of a lawyers' office. Their relationship is not an easy one, they need to face a lot of hurdles, but they know what they want and go for it with so much passion and integrity.
The pace of the story is steady. There's not one single moment when you want to put the book down. It'll hook you from page one till the end, I promise! The character development is amazing as usual with this author, and a key point for me to fully connect and get involved with the plot and the characters. Dane and Sally gave me all the feels! This is contemporary romance at its finest about two mature, levelheaded persons, who know what they want and how to get it. The romance is a slow burn, friends to lovers thing. I loved seeing how they opened to one another, and THEN fell in love. Sally is a resilient woman with some insecurities, but Dane is right there to give her the little push she needs. Dane is a sexy sweetheart. He’s got an alpha streak, and he’s a man in a mission. He’s very career-oriented but that totally changes when he meets Sally and he makes other things his priorities. Together they make a great team, inside and out of the office. Their chemistry is off the charts, so hot!
The plot has a little bit of mystery together with the romance, which will keep you guessing and at the edge of your seat. Everything resolves satisfactorily in the end and with the sweetest epilogue! It’s one of my favorite parts of RC’s books, she gets everything neatly wrapped up with a beautiful bow on top, amazing!
All in all, RC knows how to write fine romance and swoon-worthy heroes! I’ve read her ever since her early days and I can tell she’s matured greatly as a writer! Her words are solid and enthralling, her characters are down-to-earth, relatable heroines and gorgeously sexy heroes! I can’t recommend this book enough to all romance readers!

R.C. Martin is one of those writers, whose books I wish more readers would discover and read, because she’s a great writer who really knows how to write a wonderful story. ‘The bridgewater case’ is another story of her that I really adored and enjoyed.

Sigourney (nickname Sally) Salenger’s big dream has always been to become a lawyer and she was so close to it but anxiety by the bar exam made that she had to put her dream on hold.

In the meanwhile she start a new job as a secretary for the lawyer Dane Croft. Someone who has a reputation for being a good and ambitious lawyer. Both are surprised when they meet the other for the first time. They didn’t expect the other to be so young and they certainly didn’t expect to feel an attraction to the other. But they both have a lot to prove to themselves and to others so they decide to ignore the attraction and to act professional. And that works very well in the beginning but the more time they spend together and the more they get to know each other, the harder it is to ignore the intense attraction. And then something bad happens what makes that Dane wants to protect Sigourney and one way to do that is to stay close to her all the time. Because Sigourney is his and Dane will do anything he can to protect her, even if he has to break his own rules to do that.

I love this story. I really enjoyed the interaction between Dane and Sigourney. They are both wonderful characters. Dane is a guy who knows what he wants. But one of the many things that I loved about him is that he believes in Sigourney talents and he supports her. That fact that he isn’t a manwhore is another big plus for me. It was a relief after reading so many stories about manwhores. I really appreciate that both characters respected each other intelligence and ambitions. I found them a fantastic couple.

The story is told from both POV’s. The sex scenes are steamy and I liked the little suspense in the story. I’m really happy that I read this story.

I swear this author never fails to impress! I couldn’t wait to dig into this book and I was already over halfway through it the first night! I fell in love with the characters! She introduced a different view of characters which I was so excited to finally experience. & as Christian Grey would say, this book is all about “vanilla sex”! Oh and of course romance! Mix those two together and you have a pretty good storm brewing up! I usually find myself reading more dominating books with dark male figures that like chains and whips and all bad things but this was different! I think I appreciated it more to be honest! I love how the characters meet under the circumstances and how long they seem to hold off on their sexual relationship together. It makes you read deeper into the book before you stop for the night! I flew through this book and I am already anticipating her next release even though it’ll be a long while away. I am obsessed with all things RC Martin!

R. C. Martin is such a terrific and underrated author. I love reading her books, they are so sexy and enjoyable! Sigourney and Dane's chemistry was off the charts. The sexual tension was palpable. The actual story line without the romance was terrific, I thought it was so interesting. Highly recommend this read to EVERYONE.

This was the first book I've ever read by this author and I really enjoyed it! Office romances are one of my favorite themes to read and this one didn't disappoint! I think the only complaint I had was that I couldn't picture the main characters as described, lol... I didn't see Sigourney or Dane as blond haired people?? Other than that everything else seemed to work... I liked that Dane took care of her but didn't go out of his way to shower her with material gifts.. I liked that Sigourney wasn't a materialistic person but made due with what she had or could afford... They suited each other with out the woman having to be a doormat or way to submissive...

I like that we get glimpses of their futures but I would have enjoyed living with it with them rather than being told about it... The snippets were to short! LOL.. But other than that it was great story all around.. I look forward to reading this authors other books!

This book was so so good! The blurb pulled me in immediately but I admit I took a while to actually read it. Dont wait as long as I did to dive into this!! I devoured this story but at the same time didn't want it to end. The chemistry between Dane and Sigourney was so hot and intense you could practically feel it burning off the pages! I loved how R.C. Martin wove their professional and personal lives so seamlessly together and I appreciated the fact that incorporate the characters careers without being overshadowed by the romance. I also love how an author can skip ahead by weeks at a time in a story and you feel like you don't miss anything. The mystery and suspense aspect was also incorporated well within the book. This was my first book from RC Martin and I loved every second of it!

I love Ms Martin's books and couldn't wait to read The Bridgwater Case. I was blown away and this is my favourite book of hers to date! I was glued to my kindle and read it at every available opportunity.
I have a soft spot for men in suits so Dane is... 100% perfection and all mine!! I adored him! He is sexy, bossy when needed and bossy when not but didn't come across that way, if you get what I mean!
I loved Sally too and she was his equal in more ways than one!
This is a book you will not be dissapointed reading! It deserves way more than 5 stars! Thank you Ms Martin, I absolutely loved it!!!

4.5 Perfect Counsel Stars

I love Dane & Sally ~ they are both strong, intelligent, ambitious yet down-to-earth people that jump hurdles to go for what they want. The suspense kept me turning the pages, the character development made me connect with the story and the perfect balance of sexy made for an AMAZING read. I enjoy a good Lawyer read and this one delivered - my heart felt for Janet and I admire Dane & Sally tenacity to find the information, given the circumstances. I adore the relationship that Sally had with her sister, Elle and the emails...SUPERB!

I cannot say enough GOOD things about this book ~ PICK IT UP!

Ms. Martin’s books has never disappointed me and this book was no exception. Sally moves to a different state to get a fresh start after failing the bar exam. Dane is one of the partners at a law firm that Sally goes to work for as his secretary. Soon their relationship becomes more than just boss/secretary. Dane is the perfect boyfriend that any woman can ask for. I just love this story, I love Sally and Dane, they are so perfect together.

Review copy was received for a honest opinion.

Loved it!

This is the second book that I have read from this author and I loved both. R.C does a great job of developing the characters! I was rooting for Dane and "Sally" from the very beginning. You could feel the love from both of them coming off the pages. Great read and I would definitely recommend!

I really enjoyed this book, it was sweet, fun, easy to read and hard to put down to the point that I finished it way too quickly for the length. I really liked the heroine and actually related to her because I consider myself smart and did well academically but my anxieties and mental health have gotten in the way too. I also really liked the hero as well, and that I understood why he initially didn't want to pursue a relationship with the heroine but when he made a move he stuck to it and didn't play hot and cold with her. Their relationship was great and had great chemistry and I appreciated that they committed to each other and there was no over blown drama, but they handled issues like adults.

The only negative I can think of is that it all wrapped up a little too quickly and there was a small mystery that I thought was fairly obvious but none of the characters put it together.

Edit: Eh what the heck I'm giving it five stars.
