A little scheming, be it by friends, relations, or even a rainstorm, might be just what love needs
While each of the novellas in this collection takes a different path to happily ever after, all have one thing in common. Love is going to need a little push before it will lead each couple down the sometimes bumpy path to happiness.
Finally Mrs. Darcy
When Fitzwilliam Darcy does not return to Netherfield with his friend, Elizabeth Bennet's hopes of ever finding happiness with the man to whom she has lost her heart are crushed. As months stretch into years, hope fades, and both Elizabeth and Darcy settle into life without each other, expecting that their paths will never cross again ─ until one night at a ball when fate, in the form of a new uncle, reunites them
Waking to Mr. Darcy
Fitzwilliam Darcy meant to restore peace to his mind and protect his heart. He intended to escape from Hertfordshire to the safety of London, but when the very person from whom he is running falls into his arms and requires his help, he will be forced to admit that there is only one place where he will find peace and his heart will be safe.
A Very Mary Christmas
Having had her mother declare to one and all that she has lost her last chance at marriage and knowing that the gentleman she wishes to marry only sees her as a friend, Mary Bennet is planning to escape to London. However, her plans run contrary to those of scheming relations.
Discovering Mr. Darcy
Arriving for his annual visit at Rosings, Fitzwilliam Darcy is both delighted and hopeful when he learns that his aunt's parson has a guest. However, when his cousin's attentions are more readily accepted by Elizabeth Bennet than his own, it would seem that happiness is not within his reach except for one thing. Walking away from the woman who holds his heart is not on his aunt's list of acceptable activities.
Not an Heiress
Mary Bennet has always longed for a quiet home of her own -- preferably a parsonage. She has even studied and prepared herself accordingly -- poring over sermons and ordering her life in a most proper fashion. However, prudence and propriety take flight in the presence of Colonel Richard Fitzwilliam while the longings of a heart stirred by love and an aunt bent on seeing her nephew happy conspire to push Mary into the colonel's arms.

Finally Mrs. DarcyWaking to Mr. DarcyA Very Mary ChristmasDiscovering Mr.
Leenie Brown has always been a girl with an active imagination, which, while growing up, was both an asset, providing many hours of fun as she played out stories, and a liability, when her older sister and aunt would tell her frightening tales. At one time, they had her convinced Dracula lived in the trunk at the end of the bed she slept in when visiting her grandparents!
Although it has been years since she cowered in her bed in her grandparents’ basement, she still has an imagination which occasionally runs away with her, and she feeds it now as she did then ─ by reading!
Her heroes, when growing up, were authors, and the worlds they painted with words were (and still are) her favourite playgrounds! Now, as an adult, she spends much of her time in the Regency world, playing with the characters from her favourite Jane Austen novels and those of her own creation.
When she is not traipsing down a trail in an attempt to keep up with her imagination, Leenie resides in the beautiful province of Nova Scotia with her two sons and her very own Mr. Brown (a wonderful mix of all the best of Darcy, Bingley, and Edmund with a healthy dose of the teasing Mr. Tilney and just a dash of the scolding Mr. Knightley).
This collection of two novellas centering on Elizabeth and Darcy were so enjoyable to read.
Finally Mrs. Darcy: 4* What if Darcy did not return with Mr. Bingley after he told him the part he played in separating him from Jane Bennet. What if five years later Elizabeth is re-introduced to Mr. Darcy and she is now a widow. This was a delightful low angst story of second chances and overcoming family prejudices. I loved Georgiana and Jane Bingley in this story.
Waking to Mr. Darcy: 5* What if Elizabeth is caught in a storm and seeks shelter at a hunting cabin where Mr. Bingley and Mr. Darcy are escaping Caroline and Louisa. I loved this story for the backbone of Bingley and the tender caring Mr. Darcy. Again, low angst but still enough drama with Mr. Collins and Mr. Wickham. I so loved the setdown Mr. Darcy gave the pompous Mr. Collins! Mr. Bennet is as droll as ever but loved how he supported his Elizabeth. Another surprise was Mary in this story. The little details missing from her story "A Very Mary Christmas" that I had read first, are provided in this novella.
Five different stories, three in which Darcy and Elizabeth come together along with two in which Mary finds a significant other. All five stories are amazingly written highly recommended to read
This collection of five stories featuring characters from Pride and Prejudice make for interesting reading. The stories are low angst and pleasant and cover the very interesting ways that the various couples met and fell in love.
A Very Mary Christmas: A Pride and Prejudice Novella This was another great book by Leenie Brown and a really fun book based o Mary Bennet. I really enjoyed this sequel to Waking to Mr. Darcy: A Pride and Prejudice Novella, although it has been a little while since I last read Waking to Mr. Darcy so it wasn't as fresh in my mind but it wasn't a problem since the author reminded readers about anything important from the first book as things came up. I don't think it would be a problem to read this book without having read Waking to Mr. Darcy first. I loved Mary's character in this book and Nicholas Hammond was a fun character as well. I also really enjoyed Nicholas Hammond's younger brother Alfred and his friend Whit as well as the trouble they caused and the schemes they came up with. The epilogue at the end was also really cute. Overall I thought this was a really sweet and fun book that I definitely plan to read again.
Not an Heiress: A Pride and Prejudice Novella This was a great continuation of Discovering Mr. Darcy: A Pride and Prejudice Novella and I loved seeing how Lady Catherine arranged things to get Mary and Richard together. Elizabeth and Darcy's son Alexander was also really cute and I loved the few scenes he was in. I look forward to reading more of Leenie Browns books in the future and hope she has some more with a Lady Catherine like this.
