Adam did not have any special talents, nor did he want to have any. All he wanted was to perhaps live a normal life, even if it meant living in monotony. But all that changed the day Adam died in a devastating floater accident. Adam was stunned to find himself resurrected and put back together, given another chance at life by an elder lifeforce that now inhabited his body. And when he begins to discover that his body has been augmented in ways that are impossible to comprehend, a new purpose in life begins to reveal itself. Adam’s newfound power sets him on a path of maximum resistance in search of an ancient being, the same being the alien residents of Ether LA have been searching for all along.

Luigi Robles or also known Luis Robles was born in Los Angeles, CA and spent most of his time as a child visiting libraries and voraciously reading books.
He eventually grew up to become a successful graphic designer and reaped its rewards. He has never stopped reading and has always been a fan of the Science Fiction/Fantasy masters such as Orson Scott Card, Frank Herbert, Iain M. Banks, George R.R. Martin, J.R.R. Tolkien, and many more. But with every book he read, the longing to tell his own stories grew stronger, until he found himself typing away, filling up blank pages in the middle of the night.
Luigi ultimately switched careers to focus on writing and bringing great stories to life. When he isn’t writing, he is plotting and designing or illustrating the cover for his next book, which is the icing on the cake of his lifelong passion.
Now with seven books under his name, his craft keeps on getting better.
Okay, to start, I must say I really tried to read this. I wanted to know where the story eas leading. But the poor quality of the writing is unendurable. The poor grammar and misuse of words was bad. But the writing style was endlessly telling, telling, telling. Other issues include a lack of descriptive detail; weird and heavy-handed apparent foreshadowings; unclear statements as to character motivations; and more. I will try to finish, but I doubt I can do it.
This had beta readers? This had an editor? I'm sorry, but it read like something written by someone who doesn't even speak English as a first language. In my head, the stilted dialogue sounded like a cross between Martha Stewart (known for her inability to use contractions like a normal person) and a random voice when you use Text-to-Speech on your computer. There was no life behind any of it.
I can't even be arsed to get into criticizing the plot or character motivations. Did they even have any? Even the "writer's" explanation at the end about how this was science fiction and not magic was confusing. You have a being from millenia past healing, communicating with, and merging inside a derpy human to save humanity, but it's not magic? The glowing runes and spellcasting weren't magic? Mind reading? Superhuman powers? Aliens merging into one body and combining powers and weapons? Healing a dying man instantaneously? I surely didn't see science explain any of that.
*sigh* At least I only wasted two hours on this amateurish drivel.
I wasn’t sure what to expect when I started reading and was pleasantly surprised at the turn of events. This story about a future LA seemed so bleak, so dehumanizing. But once Adam was involved in his accident, things started changing. I liked the way Aramis was introduced and also his role in the eventual outcome of Earth’s existence. I do recommend reading this tale!
Journeys out to be fraught with anticipation and not greeted with a grimace. Perceptions are balanced by a real look from both sides. Possible doesn’t mean impossible.
