Rate this book
The Gift is a call to readiness, a call to endurance and a call to intimacy with your Father. It is an invitation for you to sit with your Father and unwrap His good and perfect gifts in your life, and especially in your mission to care for the fatherless and the orphan. From best-selling author of Ready or Not & Battle-Weary Parents comes another 30-day devotional exploring God's heart for the call of foster care and adoption, The Gift . Have you ever wondered, "What's in this for me?" in your role in foster care and adoption? Through, The Gift , Pam Parish takes you on a 30-day journey of unwrapping God's answer to this question using James 1 as a foundation. You already know James 1:27, "Pure and undefiled religion before God our Father is ministry to the orphan and the widow in their distress..." But have you stopped to consider the 26 verses that come before? These verses hold the key to God's answer to the question, "What's in this for me?" It's a gift. It's waiting for you to unwrap it.

I really enjoyed her perspective as an adoptive mama. Anyone who has welcomed children from hard places into their home is a hero to me. She kept the message grounded in truth and scripture and I was deeply challenged and encouraged throughout the book!

I read this while going through a difficult part of foster care, and it really helped encourage me and set my mind on truth.
