Syeda Blackwell is intimately familiar with loss. Her life thus far has been defined by it—beginning with her father, who mysteriously disappeared when she was a child. Most recently she lost her mother to cancer. Both losses haunt her, but are out of her control. The loss of the man she loves? She caused that with her lies.

A hospice administrator whose days are often defined by death and dying, Joyce celebrates her love of life through her work as a romance writer. She serves as president of Women's National Book Association - Atlanta Chapter, and is a member of Georgia Romance Writers, a chapter of Romance Writers of America.

Joyce is a self-confessed foodie and romantic at heart who enjoys travel, reading, fine dining, and rap music. She resides in Atlanta, Georgia with her husband and three children.

Syeda and Christopher. Two of the most stubborn characters that I have ever read. Both with the reason to be mad at each other, but not understanding why. A mix of miscommunication and just not willing to talk to each other other. I’m glad they finally talked got back together. I wish I got more, I need more of them!!
