When Dr. Tobi Robinson returns to Whiskey River, Travis Sullivan is the only person to recognize that the smokin' hot babe at the gala is actually his high school tomboy buddy. Time away has changed them both. Tobi, the prospective business major, became a doctor, while Travis, his pro baseball career ended by injury, converted his passion for flying into a charter flight business and flight school.
The easy friendship they enjoyed in high school soon deepens into desire and then love. But Tobi didn’t turn to medicine by chance—a horrific accident has left her unable to tolerate even approaching an airplane. As strongly as Travis draws her, Tobi isn’t sure she can ever trust her heart to a pilot. Can Travis convince the woman he’s discovered he can’t live without that their love can conquer every trauma?
Eve Gaddy is the award winning, national bestselling author of forty novels and novellas.
Eve 's books have won and been nominated for awards from Romantic Times, Golden Quill, Bookseller’s Best, Holt Medallion, Texas Gold, Daphne Du Maurier and more. She was nominated for a Romantic Times Career Achievement Award for Innovative Series romance as well as winning the 2008 Romantic Times Career Achievement award for Series Storyteller of the year. Eve’s books have sold over a million copies worldwide and been published in several languages and many foreign countries.
Eve’s writing career began when she was in search of the perfect job and a friend challenged her to write a novel. Naturally, she thought of romance, since that is one of her favorite things to read.
Eve loves her family, spring and fall in east Texas, the Colorado mountains, dogs, chocolate, books, and electronics. She enjoys cooking except when she is creating, and has been known to tell her husband that is what takeout was created for.
Eve also loves a happy ending. That's why she writes romance.
Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy is the first book in the contemporary romance Devil's Rock at Whiskey River series. It seems that this series is going to be featuring separate couples as most romance series tend to do as there is a definite ending to this first book and no cliffhanger.
Tobi Robinson has returned to her hometown of Whiskey River to take a job in the local clinic now that she is an established doctor. Tobi had been a bit of a tomboy growing up and she's definitely changed her ways during her time away at school and establishing her medical career so all of those who knew her years ago have trouble recognizing her.
Travis Sullivan is the only one to recognize Tobi at first meeting but they were once best friends so it's no surprise. Travis doesn't know why Tobi had cut off their communication back in college but once the pair begin to talk they rekindle the old attraction neither knew the other had.
Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor was a lovely little small town second chance romance. The characters were both very likable and being an animal love there was even a puppy to ooohhh and aaahh over. The thing that had me really liking this one was for once the angst involved in this romance was perfectly understandable. Tobi has an extreme fear of the one thing Travis does for a living so they really needed to work this out just as much as say a policeman or firefighter's spouse would have those fears and I could really feel for them both. Great read that I'd recommend checking out.
I received an advance copy from the publisher via NetGalley.
Are you looking for a great sensual romance, fabulous setting awesome characters then pick this one up, I have not read any of Eve Gaddy’s stories set in Whiskey Creek but I will look for more, I loved getting to know pilot Travis Sullivan and Doctor Tobi Robinson.
Tobi has moved back home to Whiskey Creek to take up a job at the emergency care unit and one of the first people she runs into is her old school friend Travis, they have not seen or heard from each other for many years, Tobi’s life changed dramatically after a terrible tragedy but she is not looking for love.
Travis is now a pilot after his baseball career was cut short by injury seeing Tobi again reignites his heart he always had a soft spot for his friend, could they become something together now?
What starts as renewing friendship soon moves to more but can Tobi put her past behind her and cope with Travis’s job as a pilot or will fear keep them apart. They really deserve each other in so many ways, I do highly recommend this one it is a beautiful romance.
RPTD is a slow burn romance between Tobi and Travis. Back in high school they were friends, both wanted more but never had the nerve to cross that line. Now years later they’re both back in town and their chemistry is even more potent.
But the years away have changed them and they aren’t the same carefree people they once were. Travis had dreams of playing Major League baseball until an injury sidelined him. He didn’t think he’d ever love anything as much as he’d loved to play ball, but now, as a pilot and part owner of the local airfield, flying is his new passion.
Seeing Tobi again, Travis knows now’s his chance to finally pursue his dream girl, but Tobi is a hard nut to crack. Her crippling phobia of flying and planes is a definite obstacle for them. She doesn’t trust herself to survive another loss so she doesn’t let anyone get too close and Travis’ job might be too much for her to handle.
This was a well paced romance, the chemistry was always simmering right underneath the surface and I liked that their relationship spanned several weeks and wasn’t insta-love (although I’d argue that Travis was half in love with Tobi from first seeing her again at the Gala!). Travis was a good guy, he was supportive, understanding and always thought of Tobi’s needs first. That being said, Tobi came off a little too standoffish at times. Her traumatic past was horrible but I never really felt the emotional pull of her struggle. This might just be me, but I read how she would freeze up and her heart would accelerate at the mere thought of a plane but the intensity was missing. Maybe that’s why I enjoyed her with Lucky so much. No one can turn a cute pup away and watching her soften towards him was heartwarming. For someone who claimed to want solitude, Tobi really took to Lucky in a blink :)
This type of writing – low angst, light drama/conflict, small town setting with every day average people – reminds me a lot of Laura Trentham’s Cottonbloom series, which I love! For a smooth and easy romance with a friends to lovers trope, I would definitely recommend checking this and the rest of the new series out.

If you’re looking for a fun contemporary romance with well developed characters - including their flaws and all - a sense of community and some surprises along the way, you could read any book by this talented author, including this one. This one is the start of a new series set in the close knit community of Devil’s Rock and is a delightful second chance romance but one with a serious difference as the heroine has a totally understandable fear of anything to do with flying and the hero is a pilot!
In High School, Tobi Robinson and Travis Sullivan had grown up as best friends who secretly became more until circumstances sent them on their separate ways and they lost contact. Now Tobi is returning to work as a Doctor and Travis has already returned after his pro baseball career was scuppered by injury. Now he is a pilot in a charter flight business and teaches others in the associated flight school. They meet again at a community event and Travis recognises her straight away - unlike the other two men who had been part of this quartet in school. The attraction is still there between Tobi and Travis but she is terrified of anything to do with flying. Can Travis discover why she is so fearful and help her overcome her phobia so they can have a future together?
Although this is the start of a series, it is a complete story and there are no cliffhanger endings. It is a lovely story, investigating the events from each other’s past, rekindling their love and overcoming obstacles in the path of their love. The angst is so understandable once you discover what happened to Tobi and how Travis helps is heartwarming. This story has everything I love about small time romances - the setting is brought to life and the secondary characters are well developed so I suspect they’ll feel like friends by the time the series ends. I definitely look forward to learning more about them in future books in the series and have no hesitation in recommending this story to anyone who enjoys contemporary friends to lovers or second chance romances.
I requested and was given a copy of this book, via NetGalley. This is my honest review of the book after choosing to read it.
What a lovely second chance, friends to lovers story. Lately I have reading block but this one kept my attention from the start until the HEA on the end! The storyline and the characters are well written and everything is developing nicely throughout the story. Without giving any spoilers, this is a first part of the serial about small town Whiskey River and my guess is that every book will have another couple from the childhood friends, but lets get back on this first couple... Travis Sullivan and Dr. Tobi Robinson are meeting eachother at the gala after years not contacting with eachother and he is the only one of the friends that recognizes her. They had a thing on the prom night but nothing happened after that. Years passed and he is a pilot after his injury and not being able to became pro baseball player, and she is a doctor now after changing her major at college right after her plane accident where she was the only survivor. This is a lovely story about overcoming fears in the name of love and giving a try to build something that started years ago while they were good friends in high school . I'm leaving to you to read it and enjoy it by yourself and see how everything happened
This was a really good contemporary romance with a nice balance of sex, romance, conflict, and other interests. The characters were lively and had interesting quirks. Add in the rescued puppy with the huge feet! The airplane phobia. The characters for the next stories have been introduced in small ways, but enough to establish connects in this small town and make you want to know their stories. Recommended
Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy is an enjoyable read with many interesting characters.
Tobi Robinson has returned to Whiskey River, but Travis Sullivan hardly recognizes her. His tomboy friend is all grown up and in all the right places. They used to be close but they parted ways when Tobi went to school to become a doctor and while Travis was playing pro ball. Tobi and Travis reconnect as friends and move onto more, but something’s holding Tobi back.
An injury ended Travis’s baseball career, but he found another passion…flying planes. He owns a charter flight business and flight school with his friends and really enjoys what he does. But Tobi wants nothing to do with flying. And when Tobi tells her story, it’s easy to see why. But with Tobi’s fear hanging over both of their heads, how on earth could a long-term relationship work with these two?
This was a cute story about reconnecting with an old friend, who potential becomes more and overcoming your fears. The romance is a slow-burn with a cute HEA. And the cover is AMAZING.
Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor is a friends to lover story. Tobi and Travis went to high school together and both return to Whiskey River, a beautiful town in Texas. Tobi suffered a traumatic accident and is hesitant to get involved with Travis. Eve Gaddy captures the emotions that Tobi is experiencing and keeps the reader anxiously awaiting a HEA. I have read several books by Eve Gaddy and enjoyed them all.
I love myself a good second chance lovers story. There's something so uplifting hearing about people reconnecting with the one that got away, or the one they never knew they had as the case may be.
One thing I appreciated more is the maturity of the characters in this book. Although it's never explicitly stated judging by their careers, both Tobi and Travis are in their early thirties and they act like it. Read More

As strongly as Travis draws her, Tobi isn’t sure she can ever trust her heart to a pilot. Can Travis convince the woman he’s discovered he can’t live without that their love can conquer every trauma? this is Dr. Tobi Robinson and Travis Sullivan’s story. Poised perfection and drop-dead gorgeous, she stood alone at the ballroom entrance. Transfixed, Travis stared at her, glad he didn’t have to speak. Dark brown hair, shot through with streaks of auburn, fell past her shoulders in a riot of waves. Bare, beautiful shoulders rose above a low-cut strapless bodice of a sparkly fabric, and a blessedly short, cobalt-blue skirt emphasized her tiny waist and long legs. She wore cowboy boots, customary at the Boots & Bangles ball, hosted by the Kellys. Her boots were navy, with a sparkling, cobalt-blue leaf design that matched the skirt. And the expanse of smooth, shapely leg showing between boots and dress was enough in itself to make a man’s hands itch to touch. Mystery woman smiled and shook hands, then let Zack lead her out on the dance floor. Travis decided he’d bide his time and see how his friends fared before he tried his luck. Travis strolled over to Levi, who was standing by the dance floor watching Zack and mystery woman. “Too bad you struck out.” Levi shrugged. “She said she’d dance with me next.” Travis Sullivan knew the proceeds of the Boots & Bangles spring charity ball went to a good cause but he’d rather just donate the money than attend a big party. He’d been to enough of those to last him a lifetime back when he was playing ball. The Kellys of Kelly Boots fame hosted the ball. People came from far and wide, from all over the state and as far away as the East and West Coasts to attend. There were even a few international celebrities who came every year. The silent auction boasted such items as original art from Whiskey River natives to ski trips to the Rockies and the Swiss Alps donated by generous souls. Local businesses all donated items and, of course, there was a special custom-made Kelly boot designed for the occasion. Zack shot him an annoyed glance and pointed his beer bottle at him. “You know why. Promotion. Advertising. Growing the business. Making friends in the community.” "I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book." Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy is a 4 star book. I love returning to the established town of Whiskey River for a new series about another group of couples. So while you do not have to have any experience with the original Whiskey River series to enjoy Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor from the Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River series… I’d still recommend the original series as well for it’s an interesting, emotional series that I happened to love.
In their teens there might have been something special between Tobi and Travis. Each considered the other a best friend, but the feelings went beyond that even though both were too unsure of themselves to really test those waters beyond an amazing kiss. Each had their dreams planned out and went off to college with at least a friendship between them. Travis went on to his short lived baseball career and Tobi… well, Tobi dropped off the map during college, communication between them had stopped and Travis had always wondered why. Now Tobi is back in Whiskey River, although she’s using Lynn as her first name at their “introduction”. A lot has changed for them both, yet that spark is still there between them. Trouble is that Travis has chosen the one profession that Tobi is terrified of and will have nothing to do with, at all. Now it’s up to Travis to get to the bottom of her fears and show her that second chances are always possible when the love is strong and true.
In many ways I’d call Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor a slow burn romance with the love always simmering below the surface. The “what ifs” and the “if onlys” are there but the past has to be faced for a very real fear of Tobi’s stands between a happy ever after for this couple. One man’s patience, understanding and steadfast love… plus one rambunctious, adorable puppy… might hold the answers they both need. I loved Tobi and Travis’ romance. It’s a realistic, believable look at facing down a terrifying fear, and reaching out to take a risk when everything inside you shouts to walk away, the pain isn’t worth the chance. Travis is strong, determined and will do anything to ease Tobi back into his world. At times, Tobi seems standoffish and chilly, but that is her fear speaking. Watching them, and Lucky, get beyond her barriers and learn to live and love without fear was a delightful journey. I’m definitely looking forward to the rest of this series. As always Eve Gaddy delivers a love story that’s down to earth and full of the hopes of love and forever. If you love Contemporary Romance with interesting characters, a couple to cheer on and that special small town charm… then have I got a book for you. Check out Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor – I think you’ll enjoy yourself, I know I certainly did.
*I received an e-ARC of this novel from the publisher via NetGalley. That does not change what I think of this story. It is my choice to leave a review giving my personal opinion about this book.*
Three best friends, Travis, Zack and Levi were attending a gala and trying to promote their business by mingling with others. When Travis saw Dr. Robinson, he couldn’t keep his eyes off him. He didn’t know at first who she was until she smiled at him. It was Tobi from his high school. Four of them were hang out all the time in high school. Now she was back in town in Whiskey River as new doctor at urgent care. None of his friends realized who she was except Travis and he wagers a bet with her. If she wins, she will win 5 dollars and if he wins he will collect a kiss from her. Finally Tobi is back to Whiskey river trying to settle down. Tobi didn’t see Travis until they ran into each other at the hardware store and he came over to help her move things around at her new home. When she claimed the bet, she couldn’t forget the kiss. Both were attracted to each other but she was afraid to lose her friendship so she kept him a distance. But that didn’t last long.. Their chemistry was off the charts. So they decided to continue seeing each other plus a puppy for Tobi. Story turns when she deals with her phobia of plane (tragedy that kept them apart) and Travis loves to fly and he wants to share his love of flying with her. They deeply love each other but she is hiding more than phobia from each other. Will they overcame their fears...
I did enjoy reading about Travis, Tobi and cute puppy Lucky. I could relate some to Tobi’s phobia regarding traveling by air. At least she has Travis to help her overcome. I can’t wait to read about his best friends. Thanks to Netgalley and Tule Publishing for my ARC in exchange for honest review.
3.5, actually. If you’re looking for a quick and sweet read with well-developed characters, small-town charm, and a few surprises you’ll want to pick this one up. Eve Gaddy starts her Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River series off well with this one!
Tobi and Travis were part of the Fearsome Four when they were in high school. They all split up after graduation. Tobi and Travis kept in contact for a while, but then it seemed like Tobi dropped off the face of the earth. Travis tried to find out what happened, but it was during a time when he was concentrating on his baseball career and figured it was just one of those things that people do when they’re no longer in daily contact. All of the Fearsome Four have returned to Whiskey River except Tobi.
Travis, Zach, and Levi have gone into business together and at the opening of the book are in the midst of a fundraiser trying to schmooze some prominent business people. In walks a woman that catches everyone’s attention…. No one recognizes her. Is she new in town? Who could she be? It takes a while, but Travis finally recognizers her. The Fearsome Four are back together again….
Things have changed with all of them. Some of it is for the better; some of it is for the worse. There are some things that take more than time to heal. While this is a light read there are some tough struggles within it. In the end, it all comes down to choices.
I loved reading the Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy, book one in her Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River series, a delightful friends to lovers story. Tobi and Travis returned to Whiskey River after having working elsewhere, Tobi at a hospital in Dallas and Travis flying planes in Austin after a career-ending baseball injury. These two needed to learn to let go of their pasts, hurts, fears, and mistrust, in order to open themselves up to being loved and able to love. Travis was such an understanding guy, knowing Tobi better than herself. Tobi struggled opening up herself to others and making new friends. Life was easy for her with Travis in it but she still had fears to conquer before understanding that life is short and one needs to spend their time alive wisely and with those you love.
This was a fun book to read and easy to visualize the story as it occurred. I totally loved these characters and didn’t want to put this book down. Ms. Gaddy did a fantastic job creating her characters, making them realistic, keeping the story interesting, making me forget the world around me and not letting me go until I turned the last page, wanting more. I highly recommend this book to other readers and look forward to the next book in the series.

Love the friends to lovers stories! Tomboy Tobi Robinson returns home a changed woman- both on the inside and on the outside. Tobi hang around the 3 crazy guys in Whiskey River and only her crush recognizes the now smoking hot doctor. Of all things that gives her away, Travis Sullivan knows immediately from the smile that the gorgeous woman everyone is wanting to dance with is none other than his good friend growing up.
Tobi can't deny the chemistry between her and Travis, but chemistry can only get you so far. Tobi has a tragic past that is haunting her and there is no way to escape it if she gives sexy pilot Travis a chance. What can Travis do when his love of flying is the source of absolute terror for Tobi? But he knows they are meant to be- not for one night, but forever. Travis knows Tobi feels it too but she is determined to keep him at a distance. Travis has his work cut out for him and Tobi by no means intends to make it easy. Realizing that a crippling fear isn't so much tied to an object but to the love you hold for that person will open Tobi's eyes and allow her to see and feel love.
Thanks to NetGalley for an advance copy in exchange for an honest review.
Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor is trademark Eve Gaddy - light, sexy and set in small town Texas. Whiskey River is a town I’ve been getting to know over the last year or so and the more stories I read that are set there, the more I like this little town. Tobi and Travis have been friends since high school, though they’ve lost touch with each other over the years. Travis has returned to Whiskey River to join with his friends to grow their air charter business. Tobi, now a doctor, has come home to join the local Urgent Care medical practice. She doesn’t form close relationships these days - her best friend died in an air crash in which she was the only survivor. She’s frightened of losing somebody close to her again. Travis, on the other hand, is drawn to Tobi from the first time he sees her again after years apart. This is a light and sexy read in which author Eve Gaddy has created characters who are easy to like. She has dealt well with the post traumatic stress issues that Tobi faces, and has developed a story which I thoroughly enjoyed reading.
Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor by Eve Gaddy is the first of a new spin-off series from the Whiskey River Series. It begins at the Kelly Ball but stands well alone. The Devil's Rock at Whiskey River has more to do with the airfield owners, in which Travis is one.
The story is charming with the right amount of angst. It is a returning home and second chance romance with Travis and Tobi as the focus. Both are charming but there are realistic problems that hinder them from an uncomplicated relationship. There is a hint of mystery in Tobi’s past after she left Whiskey River which made me keep reading to understand her reservations.
Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor is an engaging summer time book. Just the kind of book you want to relax by the pool reading. Now let’s hope that Travis’ friends and business partners get their own stories.
An ARC of the book was given to me by the publisher through Net Galley which I voluntarily chose to read and reviewed. All thoughts and opinions are my own.
Yes, I am dancing in my boots because we are back at Whiskey River and at the Boots & Bangles bash again. I knew as soon as I opened the book and started reading I knew we were in for a great read and I was correct. I am so happy that our author Eve Gandy has chosen to bring her readers back to Devil's Rock. We get to say hi to a few folks we know from past books and of course keep to know in depth those handsome and sexy men who are running the airport. I had a feeling there was going to be more to Travis Sullivan than a good looking face and a well built body and oh yes we find that out in this book. All his secrets and inter self comes out to shine. We get to now Dr Toni as well. No i will not tell you much more about the book other than I do love how their storylines were written from past to present. The author did it in such a believable way. I can't wait to read more in this series and watch the other guys as they fall in love.
Whiskey River has been pretty busy with the extension of friends, love that seems to stalk the friends with second chances and happily ever after’s. Here is another extension of the Whiskey River Series, Devil’s Rock At Whiskey River, starting off with the “Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor”
Here’s another cute story of a rebel pilot wooing his high school friend, now a Texas doctor. A Whiskey River gala brings Travis Sullivan and Tobi Robinson face to face, and surprise…surprise…. hearts still flutter!!! Attraction simmers, love fires and before long, they are the new couple in town.
Like every love story, Tobi and Travis have some fears and personal trauma that needs to be laid to rest before they can finally find happiness with each other. And like every love story, they’ll find a way…. just as Eve Gaddy has a knack of narrating a sweet story and giving it a twist.
Received an ARC from Tule Publishing via NetGalley for an honest review.
Travis Sullivan and Tobi Robinson were part of a foursome of friends through high school and kept contact into college. In her second year of college, Tobi ceased all communication with Travis, baffling him as to why. In this sweet novel of love sparking and growing, Travis and Tobi admit their love but hers is tormented by the one big, hug phobia in her life: flying. Alas, Travis is a pilot. Tobi seems okay with his profession until a near miss sends her packing. Travis cannot figure out the deeper reason for her running away and until she comes to solid and real terms with her deeply seated fear, she would rather achingly and miserably harbor her love for Travis than live in fear forever of losing him to a plane crash. Anyone with a deeply rooted phobia will surely relate to Tobi’s extreme distress and hope for a viable solution to bring live back for Travis and Tobi.
Rebel Pilot Texas Doctor (Book 1 in the Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River Series) by Eve Gaddy. This is Dr. Tobi Robinson and Travis Sullivan’s story.
Tobi and Travis were friends in high school. Their paths cross again. Travis and Tobi’s feelings begin to change to more than friendship. Tobi has fears from a trauma that she suffered in her past. Will she be able to overcome these fears and take a chance on love?
This was an emotional, heartwarming, and steamy read. The characters were realistic. I really liked Travis’ character and loved how he was there for Tobi.
It was great to be back in Whiskey River. I loved that series. If you haven’t read the first Whiskey River series I recommend it. Looking forward to the additional books in the Devil’s Rock at Whiskey River.
FYI, contains mature content. I voluntarily reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
3.75stars A second chance love for pilot Travis and one of his high school best friend Tobi who is back in town as a doctor. The attraction is after all these years still present and it doesn't take long that it starts burning and they start seeing each other. But Tobi has a really big baggage from the past and she really doesn't like flying or planes at all. And she really doesn't want to grow feelings toward anyone especially not a cut dog puppy or a hot rebel Pilot. I was glad that the story was not so long because the writing was for me not so fluid. Both characters were great I liked that Travis thought he loved Tobi and showed her his love he would be used to scratch an itch. I liked that Tobi figures although because of the unpleasant event, how life is short and what really matters. I volunteered to review an ARC of this book for Netgelly.
Excellent read! Great writing and characters with a nice storyline set in a wonderful small town. This is a friends to lovers story and it will definitely leave you smiling.
Tobi Robinson returns to Whiskey River a changed woman. No longer is she the rough tomboy of her youth. Nobody seems to recognize her except her childhood crush Travis Sullivan. Travis is no longer that boy of her memories, he's a grown man and a fine one at that. They are both very different from those high school days and the people they are now have a strong attraction to each other. Events from their past may get in their way but if they can find a way beyond them they may just find their happily ever after.
I really enjoyed this book! I enjoy second chance love stories! They both liked each other in high school but the other didn't know and years later they are reintroduced and well that's where the story starts! Travis and Tobi are just adorable together. They are perfect for each other except something in her past makes her never want to get on a plane again and Travis is a pilot. Throughout the book you are routing for them, hoping everything will work out. I love stories like that, where you feel like you are walking along side the characters, like they are your best friends and you are right there through it all. Eve does a fantastic job of making you fall in love with Travis and Tobi! I would highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a good Romance with a splash of dirty!
This is the first book in the Devil's Rock at Whiskey River series by Eve Gaddy. Dr. Tobi Robinson is a successful doctor who returns to Whiskey River still suffering from the effects of the fear of flying. Travis Sullivan is a pilot whose career as a baseball player was cut short due to an injury. Tobi and Travis use to date in high school, then went their separate ways after graduating. Tobi takes a job at the emergency care unit in Whiskey Creek and runs into Travis. Tobi and Travis rekindle their friendship, and they reignite their romantic relationship. Will Tobi be able to get past her fear of flying and continue her relationship with Travis? This beautifully written contemporary romance was a joy to experience.
I love Eve Gaddy, she’s a wonderful storyteller with lots of drama & angst. Travis & Tobi are a great couple even with all the tension & drama in their relationship. A tragedy from the past has been hanging over Tobi & it’s holding her back from a true relationship with Travis. Travis falls fast & hard for his old friend that he’s always loved. When the past is finally confronted due to a family emergency, Tobi understands that the advice her mom gave her is actually true. This is a great start to a new series with the Whiskey River gang. Definitely recommend. I voluntarily read & reviewed this book from Net Galley.
Rebel Pilot, Texas Doctor is my first read by Eve Gaddy and I have no doubt that this first instalment in the Devil's Rock at Whiskey River series will only guarantee that readers want more.
Essentially a second chance romance, the story has an element of suspense, plenty of small town charm, and intense chemistry thrown in too. An all round well-written story, with great character development and an easy to follow plot; Ms Gaddy has ensured I will be looking forward to the next instalment in the series.
