Heartbreak...is it better to protect yourself from it... to shield yourself so as to never feel the pain... Or by building those protective walls do you also barricaded yourself from feeling the rush.... the joy and beauty of love...

In Sawyer Bennett's Shaken not Stirred,
we have the last of the Gals... the last one of her group to possibly become a member of the Club of Love.

Casey Markham had that feeling once, a long time ago...only to have it snuffed out in a moment by the one she had entrusted her heart, her trust, her everything. Experiencing this devastation so early in her life...and deciding in that moment never to be a slave to those type of feelings, she created her own path... her own way of being in control.

Oh, she was a smart woman, and over the years she used her physical and mental arsenal to her advantage; not as a gold digger like those around her were lead to believe...She didn't care for these powerful, rich men for their wealth or connections...She would be using them on her terms... laying it out to them from the start... this was just physical....a weekend or dinner periodically on Her Schedule and no getting attached...no falling in love...because these men she dated... they were purposely shallow, driven and she knew she would easily be able to walk away the moment they actually wanted her by their side....And she did, every time... hearing the same type of posturing which cause this cycle in the first place...re enforcing her emotional walls.

Casey is on her way to The Last Call owned by one of her twin brothers. She had a successful run in real estate a while back but now it has dried up. She is having to work the bar to cover her expenses and use this time to figure out her life. She is feeling an uneasiness; she is out of sorts. She is secure in loving her family and her tight knit crew have all found their other halves; they are all blissfully in love. She is starting to feel the outsider and it is leaving her unsettled.

She is on her way to the bar for her shift and get's a flat tire. She has called her brothers and friends... all calls going to voice mail. Casey has one more tool to use before she breaks down and calls the towns' garage. Dressed in Daisey Duke shorts which are cut just so and a tank top, she is set to hopefully flag down a driver who will happily assist. Her outfit is perfect for her bartending and tips so this should work for her flat tire too......And it does.

Tenn Jennings is at his own crossroads. He has quit his job as a senior engine mechanic at one of the top Motorcycle establishments in his home of Wyoming. He grew up there on a ranch; loved it but did not have the passion to be the rancher his father wanted him to be. His younger brother has the passion for the ranch but also is still in that stage of playing hard and getting laid. Tenn needs Woofe to step up and show their dad he will be able to take the reins when it is time because Tenn's dream is not the ranch. The one thing he is passionate about and would go anywhere for... is his daughter, Zoey. She is the only good thing which came out of a doomed marriage. Her mother refuses to accept the divorce fully.... having some crazy concept Tenn will come around and want her. She has moved to North Carolina and Tenn is on his way to spend time with his daughter.

His friend coworker Kyle, decided to visit his sister Andrea in the Outer Banks, so together they are on their bikes. Letting Tenn know with a note on the door, the ex pulled a vindictive move taking Zoey to Disneyland for a week. Kyle suggests they go to the Outer Banks, hang on the beach and just chill... maybe hook up a bit and relax.

As they get close to their destination, they see a vision on the side of the road...a incredibly beautiful, long legged dream... bent over the trunk of her Jeep... with this sight of shorts which bordered on obscene. Kyle and Tenn make a u turn and pull up besides the Jeep.

Casey turns and strikes a pose of "Oh, My... can you help me...with a bit of let's see what will happen".... and Tenn and her immediately seem to have this current running through them. Tenn is every wet dream walking...dark thick hair... just at the collar...light blue piercing eyes. A body chiseled with tattoos... and hands you want on you...with a goatee which begs for the mind to question what it would feel like in places one shouldn't be thinking about on the side of the road.

Kyle starts fixing the tire while Casey and Tenn do this attraction dance. Casey has her head telling her to stay away... he is dangerous... you could get hurt by this guy... because all the bells and whistles are going off...SHUT IT DOWN...her body though, is vibrating with need for this type of man... one which knows what he wants and will take it... one she cannot control.

The banter starts, sparks flashing from both their eyes and when Tenn asks Casey what is she doing tonight, she almost says yes to whatever Tenn suggests. Instead she makes up a boyfriend. Her body is weeping but her mind knows this is the way it needs to be. She thanks them for assisting and off she goes to her job.

Now you know what happens next, Right.... of course the guys are to meet Andrea at the Last Call.... and there at the bar is Casey...working. Tenn strolls up to the bar, sits right in front of her and starts...Starts talking low and seductive....starts telling her of what he would do if she dropped the boyfriend and let him have her for the night. With the way he is talking and the things he has suggested.... Casey decides to go for broke... tells Tenn one night-that is it- no more.

What happens next is a thing of beauty... Tenn is a giver...someone who is obsessed with making sure Casey got... nothing like all the other men she has ever been with ... he takes her to the summit over and over again...and then again... before they both visit it together.

Side note: Tenn is a dirty talker...but with an ease of naturalness... smooth yet blunt and Oh, My...so this particular scene just gave the reader everything...and was worth the price of admission for me.
Back to story.

Casey has never had this type of experience and pulls her armor on tight in the bathroom. She dresses and says thanks... Tenn looks at her... is a bit surprised as the night was not over. As the door closes on Tenn's room...both know this was not the usual... both feel it.

This story takes a woman who has had a way of life and turns it upside down. Tenn sees Casey as how she is...it takes a moment... but when these two finally connect and share themselves with each other... bit by bit...the growth in Casey is something to experience. This relationship is basically straightforward. Both are not game players. Both are people who are finding a way to communicate honestly...and Tenn sees the challenge of opening Casey up to the woman she has had locked inside.

This is a multi-layered story. There is a father and his love for his daughter...needing to be close with her despite the ex and her manipulations. There is the pull of wanting to forge your own way in life and not forced to follow a path because of family pressure and expectations. And most importantly, there is the understanding to love fully, you must put yourself out there... and risk your heart to the person who is willing to hold it, cherish it and protect it.

Sawyer Bennett created these people and we cared about them. I do not think she is done. She gave us a glimpse of a possible next series; Woolf has a life to grow into... Woolf and his ranch in Wyoming and a possible young thing on the wrong side of the tracks may be brewing...Whatever Bennett has up her sleeve... I will be there for the reveal.

This is part of a series. I was able to read it as a stand alone. However, you will know all of the relationships of the other characters as they are referenced in the book.

Shaken, not stirred is the last book in the Last call series. While I'm a little sad to let all those fabulous characters go, I'm also very happy to finally get the story of Casey Markham.
If you never read a book in this series, know that it's ok to read this as a stand-alone. But rest assured that once you start this series, you'll be addicted.

description

Casey Markham is the younger sister of Hunter (On the Rocks) and Brody Markham (Make It a Double-currently free). She is a very beautiful woman and she knows it. It's not that she is cocky, not at all she just knows the effect she has on men and yes sometimes she plays with it but she never mislead someone, she never gives hope to man she is with.
See there's something about Casey you should know: She doesn't get involved

~"I have tremendous capacity of love. It's just something I would prefer to avoid outside of my friends and family"~

She prefers to have sex with strangers because she refuses to feel something and don't think of talking about love

description

Even if she saw all her friends and family get involved with their perfect match, she doesn't see herself that way... or if I could rephrase she is not willing to take the risk to be that way.

Before starting this book I was really scared because I loved all different characters and I knew Casey was different because she seems more "difficult". I didn't really understand her reluctance to be with someone. She is a strong independent woman who loves the people around so much. Why does she felt the need to avoid having love feelings?
I should have known better! Sawyer Bennett delivers here a wonderful story, about love, trust, about how to let your guard down and let someone in and most importantly about how a relationship should be.
Like I said I was scared to have a rebellious woman who fought against everything, yet it wasn't the case.

But let's get back to the story and let's met our hero... Tenn Jennings, bad boy looks with tattoo all over his body.

description

Tenn has decided to move out to be near his daughter and when Kyle one of his friend told him he wanted to visit his sister (Andrea - With a Twist) who lived not far from where he has to go, he decide to accompany him.
But because things never happen the way they should, Tenn can't see his daughter before a week and instead of starting to see if a life across the country is possible, he find himself helping a beautiful girl who seems to have problems changing one of her tires.
He is immediately attracted to this girl who seems confident and who push his buttons the moment he sets his eyes on her.
And for once, he might be lucky enough when he discover who she is. Casey on the other hand doesn't really know how to react. Her first instinct is to push this guy away as far as possible. She know he is dangerous and not in a bad way.

description

I can't tell you my fav' part of the book because I think the whole book was absolutely impeccable!
Tenn is the dominant male with a soft side. While he excels in the bedroom with his dirty talk, he is nothing but protective and caring with Casey when she needs him to be.

Very quickly Casey let her guard down. She can't deny her attraction for Tenn and I really appreciate the fact she doesn't question everything she was feeling. Yes she is scared but she is also aware it might be different this time. I don't talk about love here, not yet, but I refer to trust . Even if they start to be involved with each other, she knows she has to take baby steps.

~The more I consider major changes in my life, the more I might have to admit to myself that I've wasted a good portion of it.
All of this produces anxiety. All of this stresses me out. All of this makes me feel ashamed of my choices in life.
And yet...the view before me does tend to alleviate some of that anxiety. It tends to make me forget about stresses and poor choices~

Their relation slowly progress in front of our eyes and it's beautiful. Casey is an honest woman who always speaks her mind. Tenn is a caring guy who is not afraid to go for what he wants. They both know what changes could bring in their lives and they take their time.

description

Casey is so oblivious of what a real relationship is and it's so cute to read. Tenn gave her the assurance of what she has to except and he never let her down.

I tended to say Make it double is my favorite but Shaken, not stirred might just have stealed the spot

I started binge-reading this series almost a year ago, got through the first four and then just... stopped? I have no clue why since I was enjoying them, but for some reason I didn't continue. But let's not try to make sense of my crazy brain...

To be honest, this wasn't an out of this world, you must read it type book. I enjoyed it, but it wasn't an unforgettable read. My favorite aspect was the characters! I loved Casey and Tenn <3

Casey will not be a heroine for everyone. She knows how attractive she is and she doesn't mind using it to her advantage. She's also very comfortable in her sexuality, and she tends to target rich men (there's a backstory there that has more to do with the men than the money). But either way, I like unique characters like her. They're refreshing, even if I can't relate to them.
He loves having sex with me, and who wouldn't? I'm pretty much awesome in the sack, but I'm also a realist. I know that the only reason men look at me is for my beauty, and the only reason they stay with me is because of what I can do to them in between the sheets.
description

And Tenn... *sigh* He's my favorite kind of alpha male. He wasn't super obnoxious but he was still possessive of Casey and positive about his feelings.
A woman like her was created to define the word beautiful.
I know I'm in for a long wait but in my heart of hearts, I know Casey is worth it.
"I want the words 'home' and 'Casey' to mean the same thing to me." < Major fucking swoon!!
"Fuck Casey… I adore you so much." < This is so simple, but I love when the guy cusses in the same sentence he uses the word adore... yeah I'm a weirdo
Casey is a stubborn girl who is afraid of relationships, and Tenn is the guy who changes her mind about it all. This was an easy story and I loved watching their love grow. It gets bumpy, but nothing ever felt too angsty. The ending drama did seem a little forced and I didn't love the direction it went. And since it felt forced I had a hard time paying attention and I actually skimmed a bit :o *I've also had trouble paying attention in general so that might be part of it...

But all in all, if you're a fan of this author, you'll want to check this series out ;)

Oh I could just kick myself! This story was sooooo good (about Casey and Tenn--my favorite of the series) and I had such good intentions to write a fabulous review....but I waited too long.:( Life got in the way and unfortunately I forgot most of the details of the story. darn. I really wanted to sell it too!

Please believe that I loved everything about it, even though I can't expound upon it. I think this was my favorite of the series.

I love everything I've ever read by Sawyer Bennett, and I do remember thinking "this one is really special". And I do remember that this hero (Tenn Jennings--brother of Woolf from Wicked Fall) was one of my favorite heroes of all time. He was just...*sigh*

I was sad going into this as it is the final book in The Last Call series and we finally get Casey's story and find out why she is a man eater and does not do relationships like her friends.

Casey Markham is stranded with a flat tyre along come two bikers on their Harley's, they stop and enter Tenn Jennings a tattooed sex god they can't take their eyes off each other, later they meet at the bar and Casey agrees to one night with Tenn, one night of hot sex and dirty talk.

Tenn decides one night with Casey is not enough and he goes all out to change her mind, he is a alpha male with a soft side and with lots of steamy sex and pillow talk Casey begins to open up and trust Tenn with her secret that she never even told Gabby and she begins to think she might have a future with a man after all.

I loved the relationship between Casey and Tenn they are super hot and they can be cute with their banter and I loved their time with Zoey. They are grown up no silly fights and bickering and I liked the way that Casey handles Tenn's family secret and the epilogue was so sweet had me smiling.

On a personal level I loved that we get some more Nix Caldwell as he is my second favourite SB alpha of ALL TIME. Shaken, Not Stirred is a great conclusion to a great series.

4 - "Gonna prove you wrong." Stars!

Sawyer Bennett is not an author that is new to me, but the Last Call series is, I haven’t read any of the books prior to Shaken, Not Stirred, did that impact my enjoyment of the book… Hell No!

I do however need to go back and read the rest of the books now, as I fell in love with the Markham Family, their friends and their partners, and I want to read of how they all came together.

I pretty much loved this story from its beginning to its end. Tenn Jennings has got one of the sexiest, dirtiest mouths I have come across in a while and boy does he know how to use it to great effect. Casey Markham is the commitment-phobe out of the two of them, and although I did find her motivations behind her reasons for ‘loving and leaving them’ a little bit weak, not to mention at around the halfway mark she has an epically bad idea in the name of revenge, in the main I didn’t mind because when she is with Tenn the chemistry between them burned up my Kindle, add in a disillusioned ex, and a cute child, and the author literally mixed me a cocktail that I was happy to ‘down in one’.

”Want a ride?”

This is one of those books that gives the reader exactly what they were expecting, and in a good way. It was sexy, well developed, the characters were likeable and the storyline although contained a little drama and angst, was not overloaded with it. I ploughed through it, and was sad when I reached the end.

I will reiterate that you can absolutely read Shaken, Not Stirred as a standalone, but you would be silly not to read the previous books in the series, if they are half as good as this one you are onto a winner, something I will be doing in the not too distant future.

☆ I received an ARC via ATOMR Tours in exchange for an honest review. Thank you! ☆

3.5 stars!!

Shaken, Not Stirred focuses on the last Markham sibling, Casey. Casey, like her brothers before they settled down, is not looking for any strings that may come with a relationship.

She’s looking for Mr. Right Now and has turned her back against love after being burned humiliatingly before.

That is, until a pure instance of fate intervenes, and in pops biker hottie—Tenn Jennings.

Tenn is nothing like Casey’s encountered before and soon Casey finds herself backpedaling and breaking all of her rules and stances on romance.

But what happens when what Casey’s vow to swore off serious relationships turn out to be the most tempting and taboo of them all?

What when, Tenn has young daughter and a pain in the rear ex in the mix.

Will Tenn be the “shake” to “stir” up what Casey thought was dead in her heart? Or will what she thought was perhaps missing in her life be her greatest downfall? Read and you will find out!

11204177 So, over all?: If any of you are like me and have followed this series throughout its run, you will be definitely on the edge of your seats as we **FINALLY** get to witness the Markham wild child fall slay to the pings of love!! I was really curious as to how author Sawyer Bennett was going to pull it off, but, all in all I liked the pairing of Casey and Tenn as they give and take from each other and both provide stability and what the other is missing from their lives.

A very satisfactory read that I feel Last Call fans will thoroughly enjoy!

I have been really excited waiting for Casey’s story to be told. I could see how big of a heart she’s had throughout this entire series but never saw her willing to offer it up for anything with substance. Not only do we get to see the reasons for her hard exterior, but we get to experience the journey of allowing someone in, alongside her. I loved that she had this fierceness about her – I think Casey has been the strongest heroine thus far in this series – I loved watching her see what was in front of her and her fighting herself find her own version of happy.

And Tenn. Boy, I expected a bad-boy biker but got so much more. Swoons were had by all. Yeah he was alpha, but he was also very tender and I loved the softer moments.

I am glad Casey’s story came at the tail end of this series – given her past it made sense that she was able to fall so hard after watching all those she loved have something she wanted, but wasn’t willing to risk anything to get. I am sure had she been the first in this series, I would have felt it was fast paced – but I was able to see things through her eyes. She didn’t want to be on the outside looking in any longer – she just needed the right guy to drag her on over.

Sawyer Bennett is like my new form of crack. There hasn’t been a book yet that I have not loved. It’s like the perfect pick me up for book slumps. I know that I am going to get a great story – there is no question about it. So while I might sit and ponder what to read next for hours, I know that if there is a Sawyer Bennett title waiting for me – there is zero hesitation to pick it up.

What do a marine, a cowboy, a biker and Sawyer Bennett have in common? In this sweet, sexylicious book, Sawyer Bennett writes about Tenn Jennings, who is all three!
“A biker, a Marine, and a cowboy. You like have all the hot guy tropes covered.”

Casey Markham put her trust in the wrong man and then had her heart trampled on. So she took control of her love life and swore never to let go of it. She built walls around her heart and set solid boundaries for all her casual flings. Will one night with Tenn give her reason to make him the exception and trust again?

Tenn has been trying to find his path to happiness and fulfilment, both personally and professionally. Everything in his life has revolved around Zoey, his daughter. Until he met Casey, who he can’t stop thinking about. Can he unravel all her misgivings about men while following his own dreams?
“… it’s almost as if my entire world was just waiting for Casey to walk in so that my life would have meaning.”

Casey knows how to take care of herself. She’s smart, attractive, and she knows it. She knows she can get men easily. But she only goes out with a certain type: rich, vain and conceited. She’s honest with them from the get-go about not wanting attachments or strings. And honest with herself about her reason to go out with them, not because of their money but because they are easy to not get attached to, easy to walk away from and not get hurt.

Tired of calling the shots and feeling hallow, when life hands her a flat tire and she meets sexy biker Tenn who offers more than a tire change she gives into temptation. She promises herself that it will only be once. But it only takes one time for Tenn to prove to her that there is a lot more to life.

For Tenn, going to the Outer Banks has a twofold reason: visiting his daughter and checking out the area to see is he’ll relocate there to be close to her after his Looney ex-wife uprooted them and moved to be with her current boyfriend.

He never expected to have another reason to want to stay around until he saw the curvaceous Casey bent over her Jeep and then connected with her. Because he really sees her for who she is and the beautiful soul that goes along with the wonderful exterior and he’s determined to get through to her.
“It’s like this. You’re not a woman that needs to be treated with kid gloves. You don’t need to be coddled or unnecessarily flattered. You’re too sharp and savvy for that. In fact, you’re almost too sharp and savvy for that. It’s made you wary and shielded, which has in turn made you stagnant. You’re stuck in a rut of your own making… maybe for self-preservation, maybe not… but your boundaries have stunted the woman you’re meant to be. It’s like the cocktails you make when you bartend. You need to be shaken, not stirred.”

Casey’s first impulse is to distance herself from Tenn. She knows he’s dangerous to her heart. But this dominant, alpha male with the most tender heart refuses to let her go.
“You’re mine, Casey… and nothing will stand in my way to keep you. Not even you.”

I really enjoyed this book. I would have devoured it if I could. It’s a beautiful story about trust and love. Risking one’s heart and cashing in the wonderful reward of having that love returned in the most gorgeous way. It’s about a mature, open and honest relationship between two very interesting characters.
“This amazing man fucking broke my boundaries… and now I have to figure out what to do with all the pieces.”

And did I forget to say sexy and swoony? Sawyer Bennett is a master of scorching hot relationships and sweet romance. Tenn and Casey’s attraction is burns hot and fast like a wildfire. But their relationship is slow to develop and I loved it. Because both Tenn and Casey were aware of Casey’s fragile heart but they are also cognizant that the risk was worth it.
“… we’ll go out to breakfast, my treat, and yes… that would be considered a date so suck it up and get over it. Then you go to work and when you get off, I’ll take you to dinner, and yes… that also would be a date. If you’re good, and you don’t complain, we’ll come back here and I swear I’ll give you at least four orgasms before we go to bed. Five if you’re a really good girl and beg for it.”

Tenn is now a part of my favorite book boyfriends. I adored his love for his daughter. His desire to forge his own way in life. I loved his dirty mouth and his heart touching tenderness. He’s strong, lives by his own rules, completely alpha, and dominant but equally gooey sweet and affectionate who’s not afraid of wearing his feelings on his sleeve. He’s the sort of hero Kristen Ashley fans like and can’t help but fall for.

It was impossible for Casey to not open up to him. And it was amazing to see her take the scary plunge head first and heart and eyes wide open into love land. I understood her reasons to stay detached, but I also liked how she accepted the way Tenn affected her and how she could see he was different from every other man she had encountered.
“My girl. The woman who shut herself away. Who curled into herself when her brother got ripped awa from the family and another man shattered her heart and her trust. Now opening her arms to me as surely as her heart, and doing so with almost a blind faith in my ability not to hurt her.”

I’ve read several other books by Ms. Bennett, but never from this series. Now that I have, I’m totally hooked and will definitely find the time to read the rest of the books in the series because you can always count on Sawyer Bennett to deliver a steamy hot read, with appealing characters and a plot that contains the right mix between drama and heartfelt moments. I only wish I could have had more of these wonderful characters.

Shaken not Stirred is book five and last in Sawyer Bennett’s Last Call series. With interconnecting characters from previous books that can be read as a standalone. Told from both points of view. Happy ending?

Ahhh a new Sawyer Bennett. Her stories are my book equivalent of sliding into clean, warm sheets with a nice cup of tea. I don't think I've ever not enjoyed one of her books and this one was no exception.

We got an idyllic coastal setting, sparky banter, beautiful people, smoking hot chemistry, a hawt, protective, alpha biker and - hoo-ray - a dirty talker. That really is all I need to keep me smiling.

Casey is the queen of one night stands. She uses her beauty to seduce and date rich, hot men, but she doesn't let any of them get close. She doesn't choose rich men for shallow reasons (pah, who would do such a thing?) but rather because she believes that rich men see her as one of their possessions. So she gets her kicks from using them and dumping them whenever they try to get too close.

Tenn, our hawt biker comes to Casey's rescue changing her flat tire and within minutes of seeing her, he decides he'd like to get to know her better. A few smouldering glances and seductive whispers later and Casey caves, agreeing to go out with him, even though he's not her usual rich guy. Although, with a mouth like his, I doubt many would resist:

"I'd make you come over and over and over again. And when you insist you couldn't give me any more, I'd make you come again just to prove you wrong."

Gradually we learn more about Casey and Tenn and neither are quite what they first seem. Aside from the smoking hot smut and dirty talk, I was really engrossed in the story of the two of them breaking down each other's barriers and coming to care for each other. While the smut started blessedly early on in this, it didn't feel like insta-love, but rather two people getting to know each other and gradually falling in love. *sigh* I loved escaping into this and experiencing all the squishy feels from their story.

Tenn is a very interesting character. He's like a slice of literary hottie perfection pie rammed full of solid rippled abs, piercing blue eyes, shiny hair, a big cock, a filthy mouth and shot through with the perfect blend of over-bearing alpha male tendencies. He's also - unusually for an alpha - perceptive and sensitive, seeing straight through Casey's neuroses and helping her to work through them and leave them behind:

"You're stuck in a rut of your own making...maybe for self-preservation, maybe not...but your boundaries have stunted the woman you're meant to be. It's like the cocktails you make when you bartend. You need to be shaken, not stirred."

I know, deep much!?

I've read lots of reformed man-whore tales but not so many reformed woman-whore tales, so this plot felt fairly fresh and there were a few surprises along the way. It was also pretty low angst, so perfect if you're looking for an easy, romantic read with some hot smut. This is part of the 'Last Call' series, but you could read it as a standalone as each is its own story with recurring characters.

Recommended.

**I received an arc from the publisher via netgalley in return for my honest opinion. Thanks!**

Let me say I am a big fan of Sawyer Bennett so it pains me to say I struggled to finish this book. The only reason I gave it three stars is because of Tenn.

I had so many issues with Casey and her ridiculous reason for using men that I can't put into words how I feel about her so this should sum it up accurately:

Casey Markham is no stranger to one night stand. As a matter of fact, she’s known as the Queen of them. She uses and loses men, preferably rich men, but not for the reason you’d think. Then she meets Tenn Jennings, an alpha male trifecta - ex-military biker cowboy. He is a man with the patience of Job, who sees past her facade, to the holy hot mess she is inside. And then, smutty hot romance happens.

The Good, The Bad and Everything In Between

- Can I live in the Outer Banks? : It’s surrounded by ocean, gorgeous beaches and beautiful men. Sign me up.

- Tenn is just the way I like them - hot and dirty talkin’ : Jeezus Tenn made this book for me. Even the silliness of the trifecta of alpha hottie attributes aside (and yes it was a little ridiculous but I don't care, it worked, go with it). He has no problem expressing himself verbally and physically and that’s my kind of guy. He screws up a little, but if you were to put his one screw up on a scale against Casey’s, well no contest - he wins hands down.

- I like a sexually confident heroine : I loved that she was justifiably confident in her looks and her appeal. I would have loved it even more if that confidence came with some common sense when it came to her feelings, but regardless I loved her swagger.

I wasn’t as big a fan of making her “broken” to try and justify her relaxed stance on sexual freedom. There’s nothing wrong with a woman who knows what she likes, has no problem sleeping with men whilst unmarried (gasp!) and hasn’t suffered some romantic trauma. To see a heroine who simply understands and accepts her sexuality and isn’t afraid of it would be a truly refreshing change because the need to turn a heroine into a madonna or a whore tends to grate on me. But I digress...

- Casey is emotionally dumber than a box of pretty, pretty hair : At 50%, I’m not gonna lie - I was thiiiis close to saying eff this and quitting. All the explanations in the world (which were offered up in copious amounts by Tenn AND Casey) weren’t going to cut it. There was a moment that was so hypocritical for Casey to say that my side-eye was almost permanent. THAT’S how much she annoyed me. If the situation had played out any way other than the way it did, I would have quit it.

- BUT, and here’s the big butt (Tenn's of course, aw yeah :)) : that was the only really bumpy section of the book for me. After you get past that incredibly dumb move on Casey’s part - and yeah, still didn’t care how much she explained, still sucked - she was cautious but much better in her actions.

Also, lots and lots of smokin’ hot sex helped to smooth over my ruffled feathers. Two words: Tenn and horse. Oh my goodness. Anyhoo...

- I normally don’t start with the end of a series : it wasn’t dependent on reading the earlier books. I’m usually OCD about reading series in order, but I’ve been trying to loosen up about that this year. That said, there are alot of spoilers for those books and I may have had a better understanding and sympathy for Casey if I had read them. I may check them out anyway.

The Bottom Line
I liked it. That bumpy section made me a bit nauseous but it all worked out in the end. I think I’d read more of this series. At some point.

~ 5 Goldie Stars ~

I have to start by saying that I thoroughly enjoyed this book, but it is also kind of bittersweet, because this is the last book in the Last Call series and I am truly sad that this series is ending.

Shaken, Not Stirred is the 5th and final book to this series and it is just a great as all the other books. Sawyer Bennett has the amazing talent of creating both a wonderful series of story lines and a magnificent cast of characters in this series of books. She is able to make you feel like you are one of the group. You are completely sucked into the story and emotions of the book. I still say that Sawyers writing style is flawless. The flow and pace of the books in this series are great. She never overloads us with too much information, but also doesn't rush it a long so that you feel like you have missed something. Now just because this book is in the series, it can still be read as a standalone. You will see the characters from the other books in this book, but you won't have trouble following along with how they all link together. Ms. Bennett does an amazing job keeping you up to date so you don't miss anything important, if you choose not to read the other books.

In this book we read about Casey Markham (Hunter and Brody's Sister) and we meet Tenn Jennings. I have like Casey character from the beginning of the series and was totally excited to read her story and hopefully see her walls come down. In this book we find out why Casey is the way she is, when it comes to men and dating. To say she is a serial dater and chases rich men, would be accurate. But we find out why she does this. What I loved about this book, is that it showed us that WORDS can really HURT people and leave long-lasting scars. Casey was burned by her high school boyfriend and some words she overheard him say and because of this Casey's goal was to meet men like her ex and pretty much use them for her benefit and then walk away without any strings. This was how she felt she could control her love life….she was making all the decisions. That is until she meets Tenn and he turns her world upside down. Tenn was an amazing Hero in this story. Talk about a man who was a great mix of sweet and Alpha and could he melt a pair of panties with his dirty talk ;) I have to say that this is probably the first series that I have LOVED all of the Heroes equally…..they are all fantastic!!!!

I was thrilled to see that we got to see the past characters from the other books and keep up with what is happening with them. This group of friends are truly interlinked with each other lives and I loved it!!!!!

I would whole heartedly recommend this book and series to everyone!!! These books are fun, easy, and sexy reads that aren't overloaded with excess drama and angst. They will definitely leave you with a smile on your face :)

Once again, tried and true. Sawyer Bennett always delivers exactly what I expect from her. Tenn was 100% my type of guy. Well bred, but a little rough around the edges. A dirty talker with a sweet side. We've loved Casey from the beginning. These two together were a great match. Another solid book from SB.

I loved Tenn Jennings!!! Yes, I am starting with that…. as he may be one of my favorite Sawyer Bennett males to date.

Shaken, Not Stirred is a wonderfully engaging read and although it is the 5th book in story (a family / friend saga) it can easily be read as a stand alone.

Casey Markham is seen in other books as the man-eater; the take what you want and move on kind of girl but that is explained in this book; masterfully well done by the way!

Tenn Jennings is a new character introduced in this book; so again truly a stand alone as you don’t miss any buildup. So if this blurb interests you or the review peeks your interest but you have not read the prior books no worries - 1-click away.

Casey and Tenn’s first run in is adorable and Ms. Bennett has the reader understanding the instant pull these two feel for each other. I truly enjoyed the alternative POV in this book and as I have already learned reading Ms. Bennett’s books, she rocks male POV (which I don't think is an easy thing to do).

I loved Tenn (yes I said that already and Tenn’s is his name) - you get a why for his name and it is great and ties into his brother’s name Woolfe. Tenn had lines like this that stole my heart!

"I am never letting you go," he says through clenches teeth. "And I don't care if it scares the sh!t out of you. You're going to have to deal with it.”

I adored bearing witness to Casey falling for Tenn, to Tenn pushing Casey to open up and embrace what was developing between the two of them. And yes there was something between them that not only did Ms. Bennett allow the reader to feel it; she used the supporting cast to highlight it!

When tragedy sends Tenn home, what Casey learns about Tenn will shock her and likely you as the reader. Can new love survive half truths? Read the book to find out!

I will say I loved how this all played out, it felt true to the story created and the characters involved in this twist!

Ms. Bennett - please pretty please write a happy for Woolf, Tenn’s younger brother! Thank you!

Casey and Tenn's book did not disappoint. I loved loved loved Tenn!! He was so patient and sweet, yet so alpha!

Favourite parts of this book:

“I will not let my heart get tied up with this man. I will not let my heart get tied up with this man. I will not let my—
Crap. I’m doomed.”

“When I’m with him, it’s so comforting. It’s like I’m continually immersed in my favorite smell of sea salt and coconuts or like I’m being wrapped in my grandmother’s old afghan. Tenn feels like that giddy first day of summer vacation, and my insides feel like a litter of wiggling puppies whenever he looks at me. It feels strange, and dangerous, and like I’m on the edge of falling into something great and mysterious with all the promise in the world.” I open my eyes, immediately seeing all four of my girls staring at me with romantic eyes and lips slightly parted in surprise. I smile at them, and lower my eyes shyly. “Yeah… it feels like the lifting of dark clouds on a rainy day… that moment when the sun peeks out and a rainbow magically appears.”

“And I want to be in your bed in the morning and on the couch when you get home from work. I want to eat breakfast and dinner together, and lunch when we can. I want to share closet space with you and figure out our bills together. I want to fight for space on the bathroom sink, and I want you to yell at me for leaving my clothes all over the floor. I want to know that when I think of the word home, it’s the place where your ass resides with me. I want the words “home” and “Casey” to mean the same thing to me.”

“At this moment, Casey takes up one half of my heart while Zoey takes up the other, and because it’s so fucking full, nothing else really matters.”

I thoroughly enjoyed this series. However, I wonder if we'll see Kyle or Woolf again?! I'd definitely read those books. Just sayin.

This book was so annoying. I've really enjoyed this series but stupid Casey had to go and ruin it. The reason for her not being able to commit didn't feel authentic. She hurt men because she was hurt by one when she was younger. How is that fair? The 'shallow and rich' men don't come across that way. Also, I don't think her experience justified her behaviour. The 'revenge' idea she planned for Jeff was so silly and pathetic. I don't want to spoil the book, but she was so rude and disrespectful towards Tenn, who is supposed to be a badass biker. Yet, he simply accepted it and easily forgave her. Seriously, I would recommend reading the first four and skipping this one.

Loved it. I am sad to see this series end. Ms Bennett made me cry. Great banter and sexual chemistry between Tenn and Casey. Loved seeing all the old gang again. Plus Tenn's daughter, Zoey, who was so sweet and not a brat (unlike her mom). Bonus we get to see Nix and Emily from Off Limits.

Now I need a book with Wolff, Tenn's brother because I need to know what kind of club Scandalous is. Now to impatiently wait for Zack's book in the Cold Fury series.

Saved one of the best for last. Sad that this series is over. Different from most NAs is that each books hero's are different from each. Some books had the drama some suspense. The setting was quaint but brought to life by these interesting people. Sawyer Bennett did a fantastic job with this series well written, likeable and great characters.

As my message to you on Facebook stated… STOP, my panties can’t take it! And I am claiming Tenn right now.

Casey is a man eater, and I love her. She is the type of woman who takes no crap and is always in charge. She knows what she wants, gets it, and when things start to get personal, she cuts all ties.

Tenn, I don’t know how to explain him to you without giving much away. He is a biker, a cowboy, an alpha, and hot. He was burned by love in the past, but it doesn’t stop him from going after what he wants…

When these two meet on the side of the road, you can’t help but root for them to ditch the clothes and do the tango. And then, they do… And you root for them to be naked as often as they can, because Sawyer can write one hell of a sex scene.

Casey fights her feelings tooth and nail. And I can’t blame her. She, in her mind, is out to exact revenge. And when the target of all her old resentment comes into the picture, watch out. Her plan is flawed, and full of emotions that shouldn’t matter. How will Tenn handle it?

I can’t impress on you enough how much I want you all to read this book. Hell, I want you all to read the whole series! There is enough love, hate, and sex to please just about everyone!

And the ending… Swoon! ~ Devlynn, 4.5 stars

Oh jeez, WHAT ARE YOU DOING TO ME, SAWYER BENNETT? I swear, every time I close one of Ms. Bennett’s books I am doing one of three things (okay, ALL three of them, not just one...)
1) Wondering, desperately, when I can get my hot little hands on the next book.
2) Looking around for someone/something to ease the ache....*ahem* you know where.
3) Replaying all the best bits in my head while I take care of ^^^ item two.

Casey Markham is not looking for anything other than a rich man with whom to have a good time. Except, with her friends falling to love like flies, she’s starting to question whether burning up the sheets with her latest sugar daddy is still enough.

Tenn Jennings can’t deny that the smokin’ hot blonde he spied on the side of the road is getting to him. He’s determined to have her, to break her man-eating habits, to make her come harder and faster than she ever has before. But can he break down her walls, push past her boundaries, and prove that not all men are untrustworthy pricks?

I LOVE this series. With each book I’ve read, I fallen harder and faster for the every member of this group of awesome friends, and Casey and Tenn were no exception. Casey is awesome, with her determination to stay closed off, but her willingness to try. Tenn...well, what can I say about him? He is a little bit of everything that makes Alpha-male-swoony-hot-sexy-goodness the best thing, like, ever. I mean, come on... He’s deliciously edible, has all the right words and OMFG, THEY HAD SEX ON A WHAT?!?!

Shaken, Not Stirred was...I don’t know if I have enough adjectives. F**k me, it was SCORCHING HOT (^^ See the above comment about sex on a....), it was funny, it was unexpected in places, and it was exactly what it needed to be. There’s a healthy dose of cameos from the other Last Call series cast members, including my beloved Brody, and plenty of back-and-forth banter to make these relationships seem real and playful and fun.

Whew. Yeah, add this one to the long list of Sawyer Bennett books that have had me on the edge of my seat, looking for friction, wishing it was real-life not fiction and hoping for another book...just one more. Please. I’m not done with this series yet.

Shaken, Not Stirred is the fifth book in the Last Call series but can be read standalone. No cliffhanger. ~ Beth, 5 stars

Damn you, Sawyer! I had to know how this story was going to end; I couldn’t put it down and I lost precious sleep in order to see what was going to happen with Casey and Tenn. Yet again, you sucked me in with your amazing writing and I couldn’t get enough!

In Shaken, Not Stirred we finally get Casey Markham’s story. We met the feisty and sassy sister of the Markham twins, Hunter & Brody, in the three previous Last Call books and I loved her. She is the queen on one-night stands and only dates men she can’t get close to.

Enter Tenn. He is dangerous and show knew it from the beginning.

“Yes, he looks dangerous. It’s why he’s appealing to me so much. He’s like forbidden fruit. He’s like fire. He’s all the things I shouldn’t touch but the temptation is too strong to ignore.”

Tenn is a frickin’ biker/cowboy! Come on, could you get any hotter?!? The two decide on one night together because the chemistry is undeniable.

“Just f--k me, Tenn,” I moan as he slips his finger inside of me, curling it just right. “One more, Goldie,” he says, tilting his head to the side to suck on the skin of my inner thigh.

Of course, one taste isn’t enough; it leaves them both wanting more. Tenn takes his time breaking through Casey’s walls and it was amazing to watch him break her boundaries.

We get to see a lot of the Last Call crew and get updated on all of the couples, Hunter & Gabby, Brody & Alyssa, and Savannah & Wyatt. We got to see Nix again too from Off Limits! It was fantastic!! I absolutely loved this book! It was sexy, emotional, and funny. Tenn was a perfect dirty talker.

“Going to eat you out…f--king devour you actually, then I’m going to f--k you hard.”

And on top of that, he was a sweet talker... He may be my favorite Last Call character yet! ~ Tiffany, 5 stars

Oh, Casey, Casey, Casey. (Imagine me sitting here shaking my head.) This girl needed a miracle. Her friends have all become card-carrying members of the Love Club, and Casey is convinced it will never happen for her. She doesn't want it. But, that was before a gorgeous biker saved her bacon along the side of the road one beautiful day... and changed everything.

Tenn Jennings is the best kind of bad boy. He looks like one, but he's the furthest thing from bad. This guy... He is about as close to perfect as you can get. He's gorgeous. He's smart. He's considerate. He's a family man. And he's fantastic in bed - complete with a filthy mouth. Tenn has a 14-year-old daughter who I loved. And I loved how Tenn was with Zoey.

Casey did not make things easy for Tenn. Not. At. All. A bad experience with her first love swore her off love and relationships forever. Instead, she seeks out meaningless connections that fulfill only the base needs. She's seen her brothers and her friends find love, but Casey doesn't want to open her heart up again to the possibility of getting hurt. But, at her first meeting with Tenn, the sparks fly, and neither of them can deny the connection they feel.

The best part about Shaken Not Stirred is watching Tenn break Casey down. He knew just the right speed at which to push her so that she didn't get scared away, but she also wasn't forced to stay inside the box she created for herself. Tenn gradually wore her down, and the new Casey was SO much more awesome than the Casey we see in the beginning of the book. Casey falters a few times along the way, so the journey is not without its bumps. Neither Tenn nor Casey always handle things the way they should, but no one situation was over dramatized just for the sake of angst manufacturing. They have their issues, they talk about them, they work through them and they move on. Perfect.

I loved how open and honest Casey and Tenn were with one another. Even when Casey made some stupid decisions along the way, she always told Tenn about them. She never lied to him, and I really did appreciate that. Tenn, on the other hand, keeps a very big secret from Casey until nearly the very end, when he's forced to come clean due to a major event in his life. And, I have to again give Casey props - she handles the revelation of this secret with a ton of class and style. It proved how far she had come.

The only thing about Shaken Not Stirred that gave me pause was the reason why Casey had become the man-eater she was when Tenn met her. This one event when she was 18 was really not a big deal to me. It was hard for me to believe that it caused such a monumental shift in Casey that lasted for so many years.

Despite that, there was SO much to love in Shaken Not Stirred. I hope you'll give it a try.

I've loved each book in Sawyer Bennett's Last Call series, but with each new addition, I couldn't help but wish it was Casey's story. I finally got my wish and I couldn't be happier!

Casey is a different kind of girl. She's not looking for a relationship. She's all about going out and having a good time, preferably with a rich man she can more or less walk all over. It's clear something has happened in her past to make her this way, but she's not about to let that information be known anytime soon. Shortly after her latest fling ended because the man got too clingy, she meets Tenn and knows right away she's in trouble.

Tenn is exactly the kind of man she stays away from. He's a smoking hot biker who works with his hands. He's the type of guy she fears the most, because he's exactly who she could see herself falling for. Those rich guys are too shallow to stand a chance. A guy like Tenn could, ahem, pound right through the walls she's had up for so long. He could be truly dangerous to her heart.

Unable to deny her attraction to Tenn and the chemistry that sizzles between them, she agrees to give him one night with her. And oh what a night it was. It was apparent that a single night wasn't going to be enough and, despite her protests, Tenn continued to pursue her. What was between them was hot, real and right. I loved how Tenn broke down her walls and, when needed, wasn't afraid to call her on her bullshit. That's exactly the type of guy Casey needs. She knows it, too. That's why she's so scared. I've been a fan of Casey from the beginning of this series, even if I didn't know her whole story. It was wonderful to see her finally find a worthy man and a happily ever after.

As sad as I am to see the Last Call series come to a close, I'm happy with how it all ended. The couples from the earlier books all made an appearance and it was great to catch up with them. I really liked how the characters, especially Hunter and Brody, help Casey and Tenn find their way together. This is a great group of characters and I'll definitely miss them!

I received a copy of this book from the author in exchange for an honest review.

I haven't read any of the other books in the Last Call series but I might have to do it backwards. I absolutely loved this!!!

Casey is the queen of one night stands. She does not do relationships, attachments and most definitely not love. She's the love 'em and leave 'em type. She's gorgeous and she knows it. She uses her assets to her advantage and twists men around her manipulative fingers. And I loved her! What a refreshing change! It's not a manwhore this time but it's the female counterpart. I found her smart, funny, compassionate... and frustrating.

Tenn could not help his attraction for Casey. Very few are immune after all. He refused to be brushed off. He sees more of Casey than she lets on. He was determined to break down all her walls and make her submit. The fact that he's a mouthwatering alpha biker with tats all over helped his cause a lot. He might be all big, bossy, dominant and all male but he also has a soft and sweet side. Loved how patient he was with Casey and her issues.

I enjoyed their playful banter and sexual chemistry. Wow, what chemistry! Combustible. Plus the epilogue... beautiful. I'm left with a happy and contented sigh.

I also found the secondary characters fun and interesting. I don't know why I haven't gone into this series earlier or Sawyer Bennett's other series. I'll be stalking her from now on.

A really fun and enjoyable read. Highly recommended!

I’ve been a fan of this series from the beginning and I’m pleased with this latest addition! Tenn and Casey were an unlikely match in my head and I was happily proved wrong!

At first glance Tenn is a bad boy biker, but he’s not. There are so many layers to this man, I just loved being able to peel them all away! He’s a biker, and a cowboy, a dad, an entrepreneur…..just DAMN!

“You need to be shaken, not stirred.”

Ummmmmmm yes please! Shake me Tenn, any time, anywhere!

Casey is the last single gal standing of the “Last Call” crew. She’s happy like this….one and done no strings attached has always been her way. Even in the other stories I could tell that there was more to her as well. Casey has a big heart, she just needed to find someone to share it with.

“And you are dangerous Tenn Jennings, because you are exactly the type of man that could crumble all of those boundaries.”

And who wouldn’t crumble with this man. hell I would crumble for Casey in this story. These two gorgeous people find a way to overcome differences, pasts and futures while learning about who they really are.

Hop on the back on Tenn’s bike for a ride you’ll never forget!

“Make love your bitch.” That should be a hashtag on Twitter

The final Markham is set to fall and fall hard. Considering how she's the queen of one night stands, Casey's honey would have to be someone who could shock her out of her narrow view of relationships. Guess what? Tenn does just that. He steps in and demands she notice him. And when she tries to treat him like any of her other guys, he shows her that he's more than just a pretty face. He has a talented tongue, too. *nods appreciatively*

Tenn might be able to hold his own against Casey, but he also has a soft side. He has a daughter he adores and he's completely unafraid to show the women in his life how much they mean to him. I liked that. I also liked that he met (most) of the obstacles thrown in his path head on. He saw something that needed to be done and he did it.

Good man!

It was fun to hang with the gang one last time. I liked getting to see how their romances progressed and where they all ended up after finding their special someones. The Markham siblings and their crew have been a hoot and a half and I'm a teeny bit sad to see them go.

I was so looking forward to Casey's story, and I immediately fell in love with Tenn Jennings. I loved their interactions and their story as well as Sawyer Bennett's superb writing. Tenn is not Casey's usual type of guy, no, he's not rich or entitled, therefore she has no plan on getting attached to him. Not because he has nothing to offer her, no, the reason she is not going to get involved with him is because there is a serious risk of her losing her heart, and that is just not acceptable. Tenn has never met anyone quite like Casey and he's determined to break down her walls. Whilst this is not my favourite of the Last Call series, it is still a welcome addition to the series. I've got to say I'm a little sad to say goodbye to this wonderful group of friends and family, a wonderful finale though and a must read for all Last Call fans.

This was a perfect ending to this series. We all thought Casey was shallow, some of us did. The others knew something was up but we didn't know why. Now we do, can't tell you what happened to her to make her that way. You will have to read the book and find out.

If I have said it once, I have said it many times, I love a badass guy with a heart of gold. Tenn is so that man. A biker, cowboy, marine, rich guy, he is all that AND a bag of chips. And he has a 14 year old daughter he loves with everything he is. What else could you want in a guy?!

He was the absolute perfect guy for Casey. Patient, thoughtful and oh so sexy. I think I fell in love with him before she did.

My favorite part of the book was the horseback ride.....oh yeah!!!!!!!!!!!!!

One of the most memorable things about Tenn is his deliciously dirty mouth. I will never think of a hot cowboy and a horse the same way again. Sawyer does emotion VERY well. Finding out what made Casey who she is was definitely an experience. This is one of those books that you simply cannot pass up. If you love romance and the sexier, the better... do yourself a favor and read this!
