Really interesting and beautifully written book about the life of Marie in Stratford, discussing the issues she had and how she helped conserve the town. You get the sense that Marie was a well loved figure by many even though she could be quite controversial. Whilst I had already read Marie Correlli’s most famous novel, the Sorrows of Satan, this book has made me want to read more of her work.
