The Dragon Archives #5

Dragon Redeemed

Rate this book
Even the most powerful dragons can be killed.

Xavier Drake is already an adult when he first travels to Civitas with his grandparents, Aaron and Keira Drake, to track down the source of some disturbing rumors. A chance encounter with Evelyn Talbot, sent to the city to live with an aging uncle, presents Xavier with an unexpected opportunity to discover more about the whispers spreading through the city, but the threat is more ominous than either Aaron or Xavier could have anticipated. The resulting events will reverberate through the entire clan, leaving none untouched, least of all Xavier.

Wow, what a great book! as usual, Linda K Hopkins has a way of writing that fully immerses the reader and makes you feel as if you're right there with characters. It's wonderful to see how our favorite dragons have grown & developed while also meeting some new friends. Expect the unexpected in this book, though, for there is a twist that will have you shocked! This book is definitely a must read!

This story is about the powerful dragon Xavier and the lovely human Evelyn. The mystery that this wonderful paranormal book brought enormous excitement to a reader like me. The anticipation of each step the characters are going to do next in this book is quite fascinating. I fell in love with the author’s way of taking me back centuries ago where life is slow and uncomplicated, & involving powerful dragons living amongst humans. Ms. Hopkins brilliance in writing hit the peak of success again in this story and I wholeheartedly recommend this book and the entire series to anyone. This is the last book of this series and definitely will miss all the characters and HEA is also exceptional!

I think this is a fantastic story about the power of love!

Xavier is an interesting character and I like reading about how his affection grew, surprisingly to him for Evelyn. Evelyn is a very strong and accepting person, her ability to believe she can reach Draegón is powerful and deep. This is an amazing love story. The kind that makes me wish this kind of love was possible. Fantastic consuming read!

This must have been one of my very favourite dragon series ever, and this last book was one that was full of surprises many of which left me speechless. Xavier the dragon hatched out of an egg and born to the first dragon mother was different in all aspects and oh so powerful. Aaron his grandfather and master of the clan knew that he would one day bow to this new master who would take over from him. Xavier was an all white dragon, very taciturn and a dragon before being a human, unlike all those who came before him. Aaron started to believe he was to be their saviour, the one out of the tales of old who would lift their curse. Xavier came to Civitas to discover more about the disturbances troubling the clan, and in so doing came across Evelyn, a young woman who was quite headstrong but knew nothing of dragons. What these two go through is incredible. I love all the strong women in this series Keira, Lydia, Cathryn and Anna however I do believe that none were stronger than Evie and that her love for Xavier/draegon was what saved them all. This series is one that must be read by all those readers who like myself love all things dragon. I enjoyed this series as much as I enjoy reading the Riders of Fire by Eileen Mueller who also gives us great heroic dragons and their riders. I cannot recommend The Dragon Archives series highly enough!

This was a 4/5 read for me. Let me start by saying I loved the continuation of characters from previous books and I instantly fell in love with Evelyn's down to earth and level-headed nature. I liked Xavier since start and I was rooting for both of them. Plot also had some unexpected twists and turns, which kept me going.

Other that those minor things (which might just be in my head), I loved the book. I am sad that the series ends with this.

Disappointed

While the story itself isn't bad, it's the fact that I LOVE Aaron as the alpha male. For 4 books that's what he was and then book 5, bam, Xavier is? I like Xavier and his character. But, in my opinion, alpha males shouldn't change unless the original alpha male dies or is dying. It broke my heart when Aaron would summit to Xavier. Obviously, I couldn't get past that.

Good, but rushed

I have thoroughly enjoyed reading this series, but this book i felt was rushed. It was all upsetting that some relationships were not nurtured as they should have been. I felt that the ending was rushed and had so many things that could have been elaborated more and give better closure. Overall, I greatly enjoyed the series and getting to know the dragons and their world.

This book was a great ending to this series. It was a longer book but it still seemed like a lot of stuff happened that didn’t get all the details into the story. And typically this writers style explores events a bit more than I feel like this book did. There was a big jump in time from the beginning to the end of this book. I would still highly recommend this series if you are into dragon stories.

Not what I expected!

Well done, Linda K. Hopkins! Well done! Just when I thought everything was going my way, the story twisted and yet still resolved. I came to appreciate the characters more as I learned more. There are mild sexual scenes throughout the series so I would recommend for older teens and adults.

Wow oh wow

I just loved this whole series. Finally the grandson of Aaron is grown up. Not only is he the new dragon master he becomes something more. He even finds the love of his life Evie. I just loved it! I wonder if this is the end or if more dragons are born into the Drake family?

Another five star rating

I loved all the dragon archives books. This story was surprisingly fresh. I find the more books in a series, the weaker the story. Not so this time.
Fantastic way to keep me wanting more dragon archives books.

Dragon Redeemed

I chose this rating because I enjoyed the way the characters interacted with each other. Family was always number one with them.
I was disappointed with the ending.
I would recommend this book to anybody who lives dragons and a little romance.

Xavier the powerful

Again L.K.H. throws twists except they come early. I love this book because it gives us an exciting look into the future that isn't written yet with the powerful Xavier and the future under his rule of the clan.

This is a great book. It is the last in the series. I enjoyed it so much. It is a romance with adventure. It has violence in it. It has a hit at sex.
