Slayer knows he screwed up royally six years ago. He shouldn’t have left town without taking Billie with him, but the second he crosses over into Georgia, he feels like maybe he could have a second chance with her. There’s only two problems: Billie’s so stubborn she likely won’t forgive him, and he has a renegade crew tearing apart his mountains back home. He’s got six years of making up to do, and only a couple of weeks to do it, but there’s only one certainty he can count on: he’s not leaving Georgia without her.
I loved the story of Billie and Slayer (Noah- I'm sorry, "Noah" is who she fell in love with and he should let her call him that).
Loved each other since they were children, his mom raised her after her parents died. He was 22 and she was 20 when he left her and his mom behind in Georgia. Now his mom has passed and he's back to settle affairs and (maybe?) claim what's his.
She's angry (rightly so) and he should have grovelled a lot more. But, I loved them both. Billie is an AMAZING h, I just connected with her. And the emotion between them could be felt and was so heart felt. There is fighting and anger and hurt feelings but they LOVE each other, and I felt it.
Gonna be triggers for some with him leaving and never coming back (he kept in touch with his mother by phone) and that he was a man-whore during separation.
It needed to be longer so there could be more conversations between them because he really needed to justify staying away in my opinion and it ends too fast so one star off for that. But, I loved them both by the end.
Omg I love Slayer. Billie is a heck of a strong woman. For 6 years he denied his self the love of his love until one dreaded phone call changed all of it and took him back to the one person who's world he shattered only this time he's not letting her go or will he? Billie's world was turned upside down when the love of her life left her, but he's back and plan's on leaving her once again can she let him walk away again, will she go with him or will her world be shattered once again? You'll have to read this book to find out. This series has is awesome and I can't wait to see what happens next with Torch and Izzy!
Heroine with a betraying body syndrome. Stupid hero. If you are writing a second chance romance, then at least add some groveling to it. I didn't feel any chemistry between them. Author mentioned a few times how sTrOnG the h was, but anytime the H was around either she was crying or being a horny ass cow. I'm so done with these lame ass stories. For once write a strong h. WHO IS ACTUALLY STRONG AND NOT PANTING AFTER A D***.
Oh and I forget, how he had so many women during their separation (6 years) and she was almost celibate. I didn't like the Hero at all. And heroine was extremely annoying. Bi*ch needed therapy for her abandonment and daddy issues. 💀
This is Slayer's story from the Seven Deadlies. He goes home to find the girl he left behind 6 years ago, but Billie has grown since then. Their path to shatter the walls they built around their hearts to find each other again will make you ugly cry, but the story is worth every tear.
This novel reassured me enough to.continue through the series. The storyline was unique & interesting, both personalities and their interactions well thought out & described. It was a little shorter than previous books, but succinct. Spelling and sentences still need checking !!
