This is a promising start to the authors publishing journey. I haven’t read many stories with knights in them but I’m starting to really like them.

This book follows the story of Aden the knight. The story is action packed and it immediately begins with an intriguing beginning of betrayal. I was definitely curious to see how everything would turn out.

The main problem I had with the book is the amount of errors / typos in it. I normally don’t complain about this, but there was a ton. This book could definitely use a good edit. With a good editor I believe this book could be really good.

Overall, I thought this was a good story! There is a bit of content + could use some help on the editing side, but if those things don’t bother you then I’d recommend it.

I am disappointed. Rarely do I ever read a book that I had to stop because of the content inside. I read up to page 30/340 and ended up stopping for the reasons I'll mention in a moment.

First off, let me say that I really think Mr. Cindell has a bright future as an author!! The cover is amazing and the storyline is intriguing. I love the fact that Aden is a knight. I think that if he were to get an editor and polish his book a bit more that it would be an amazing story.

Content (from what I read):
-Language: p***ed [very disappointed to read this in Christian Fiction]
-Romance: several kisses between husband and wife
-Violence: oh so much! and in just the first pages too. :( slashing horses legs, fighting (as he is a knight), a fairly descriptive scene
-Blood/Gore: lots of blood as mentioned above

Due to the content in just the first 30 pages, I decided to stop. From what I read, I knew this would be a great story, but there was just too much for me to be comfortable with.

On top of content, I was really disappointed with the fact that the book appeared to be completely unedited. This makes a book very hard to read because you're always seeing errors!

I decided not to rate this book because I know the author needs positive ones. I did, however, want to write a review for those interested in content.

I would definitely recommend this book to those who are comfortable with the content and grammar errors I mentioned above, but otherwise I suggest you pass.

Review:
In Between had a plot unlike any other I've read- it was very creatively done! It was definitely interesting and full of action, and I definitely think the author can go far with his writing. In Between is about a knight named Aden. At the start of the book, he appears to be favored and well-respected by other knights. However, someone betrays him and he's forced to make a deal with a stranger in order to save his family. Interesting, right? I know I definitely was hooked. The author writes with a good voice- the scenes are engaging and for sure described (I'll get more into this).

A couple of things I didn't like:
- I really, really was not a fan of the content (language specifically, though battle scenes and children being injured are also described... excessively). Words like bl--dy, a--, and d*** are spoken many times. Because I rate and review books from a Christian's perspective, I really wasn't pleased to encounter those.
- I think the story could have been shortened by a lot.
- The book definitely needs substantial editing.
- Satan / a demon is mentioned many times in the book and also has many conversations with the protagonist. Personally, I wasn't comfortable with that, so that played a big role in my 2.5-star deduction.

Conclusion:
Overall... I wouldn't pick up this particular book again. However, I was impressed with the plot and storyline, so I will probably be looking out for more of Cindell's books. 2.5 stars, rounded up to 3.

*FTC DISCLOSURE: I received a complimentary copy of this book from Stellae Books. A positive review was not required. These are my honest thoughts and opinions.*

Knights, Kings and Grand Wars. I haven’t read a book around revolving around all of that in a while now. And this book made me glad that I’m ending my year’s reading list with it in it.

“In Between” is the journey of Aden who has given his life to battle aside England as one head knight amid the Edwardian war. Among his people, Aden is the most horrendous warrior in the combat zone and works to secure a profound secret as covered up as could be expected. But then comes a point when the mystery is uncovered and he’s left with no other option than to make an arrangement with an outsider to spare his family. His spirit is sentenced to forever remain the pioneer of a war obscure to humankind.

And this is just a glimpse of how interesting the story gets. There is action waiting for you at every turn. Plus, the thing I personally liked was how much we can see the development in the main protagonist as the story goes on. Matched with the good narration, the book is able to build a connection that even many first-person narrated book fails to do.

I’ll be honest when I say that I expected the hooking thrill throughout the book. And even though the concept of the story wasn't what I'm used to reading, the book surely kept me hooked.

The cover and the excerpt of the book was very smartly built as well since that got me into wishing to read it since the first time. You’ll also find yourself smiling in comfort at the times when the knight’s family gathering is displayed. Those moments are smartly built. Plus, the detailed description of the scenes was small enough to not bore you and large enough to make an image. For some, this book will end too soon. I somehow focused on how the ending leaves some space for a sequel to this enjoyable tale.

If you are a fan of Knighthood, Warrior stories, or fiction in general, then this might be the last or the first book of the year.

Aden a legendary swordsman in the King's army is betrayed by a fellow knight and makes a decision that will alter his life forever. You see Aden at the height of his glory and at his lowest in his life. He is forced to choose a life he didn't bargain for and the consequences of that decision.

it was great to have gotten the second edition of this book after my terrible experience with the main version. I can tell the Author has made some investment in creating a better version of his book. Thumbs up!

This isn't the kind of genre I appreciate, however, I must give honour to who it is due. I love the imaginative personality of this creator. I was amazed to discover that this is his first book. I enjoyed his story and I will pay special mind to the next series of this book.

This book contains languages that probably would be taken as inappropriate. It isn't in any way erotic in nature. The devil appeared quite a number of times and he was one of the characters in this book. There was a ton of blood. There was a lot of violent scenes, and it was excessively explained. This will enable one to get a clearer picture of how a few characters were been slaughtered. Some words that are considered to be inappropriate are also found in this book.

Regardless of the fact that I an not in support of the characteristics of this book, I will give this book a 5 star. I adore the innovativeness of the Author and one can tell he would go far in his composition career. I unquestionably will like to see some more books from this Author.

I got this book for free and a nice review was not asked from me. All of this is my thoughts and conclusion about the book "In Between".
