This is book 3 in the Claire Rollins Cozy Mystery series. On a foggy, early summer morning in Boston, Claire Rollins goes for a run along the Charles River. When a woman runner passes her in the mist, a terrible sense of alarm rushes through Claire's body leaving her feeling anxious and uneasy. The next time she sees the young woman, Claire is thrown headlong into a confusing mystery of murder and deception. Can Claire, with the help of her friends and her "intuition", get to the bottom of the crime before another person loses her life?

3.5 stars not bad but I didn’t enjoy this one as much as the previous ones. Claire was way to frenzied in her questioning and actions at times and it made her appear a tad bit cookoo. Claire sensed the murder of a woman she handed a hat too then later finds her body. There are enough red herrings around a second woman with the same name to raise doubts as to the who the intended victim was and who was really a suspect. The ending was kinda ridiculous especially the part involving the phone 🙄🙄🙄
I was happy to see another Claire Rollins mystery was out. This certainly did not disappoint. Interesting story. Now I'll have to wait for the next one.
parts of the stories are getting ridiculous. She's investigating stuff, told to stop by the cops, says she won't and they basically say be careful....Yea, that's going to happen in Boston???? She discovers information that she thinks the cops won't figure out--obvious things they would look for (if you've watched the Law & Order shows you know some of the obvious things the look for). If this were a true cozy and the story was set in a small town, it would be more 'believable'; think Murder, She Wrote with a psychic twist. Might read book 4, but at this point I'm staying away from the author's other books.
Everything by J A Whiting is a fun read. This series has 2 adorable corgis, likable characters, NO editing issues, NO cliffhanger endings, evil doers doing evil deeds, a mystery to solve, and Claire can “feel” things…what more could I ask in a book to go with my morning tea? I’m all ready to get the next in this series. They can be read as stand alone stories, but reading them in order gives you the backstory of the characters as they develop. So, I suggest reading them in order. Enjoy!
J. A. Whiting writes a wonderful story and it's always worth the wait for the next book. In this story Claire and her friends need to solve the murder of a young woman. Claire is clairvoyant and uses her gift to help solve the crime. Why was the woman killed and who did the deed. Find out by reading this book that will keep you guessing until the end.
This series are G rated cozy style mysteries. While I personally had high hopes that the writer would become more adept at fleshing her characters out, so far this has not happened. I am going to read book four in this series and see. If it is as uninspiring as the previous three, however, that will be it for me.
I always look forward to each book in this series and I'm never let down. The author writes so well and with such detail, I can picture the setting in my mind like I'm there. I love trying configure out the mystery before Claire solves it but I never do, the author is that good!
Claire sees a girl running in park and gets a weird vibe. A few days later Claire sees a car parked in a strange place, she goes over and finds the girl from the park dead in the car. Claire gets involved with a new death. Claire learns girl worked at company that handles her financial affairs. God store love the new characters that have been added.
I love the fact that Claire's dogs are involved in solving the murders. There is always a clever little twist in this series of books. I really enjoy I A Whiting's books
Excellent. Recommend this book. Enticing. Couldn't put this book down. So glad I discovered books by J A Whiting. If you love to read, this book is for you.
Full of intrigue and the same intrigue as the last book in this series. The plot and characters are solid nd the dogs entertaining. Love this and look forward to the next installment.
I enjoyed this story, the author has done a great job of telling her story of adventure and suspense. J. A. has put together a wonderful story my, murder and thrown in a little romance to balance it all, good job.
Book3 of the Claire Rollins cozy mystery series, but could be read separately, if desired. Well thought out mystery, likable and well rounded characters, with a touch of paranormal clairvoyance.
Wow! This one was great. I could not put it down. Kept saying I need to go to bed, but kept telling myself I'll stop after I finish this chapter. Then would get so caught up in the story, I had to read another chapter. This was really a thrilling book.
I really enjoy this series. This story had several twists and turns. The main characters are very endearing, and they prevent the events that unfold from becoming too dark and depressing. I’m sure I will be reading the entire Claire Rollins series.
Good but seemed a bit lack lustre compared to the previous two books. Why was she killed? Was the wrong person targeted? The characters too seemed to not interact as well as previously. Hopefully the next book will be better. However even so a good solid cozy.
Getting used to the authors pace. The plot was convoluted the characters conflicted but the story marched on without a hitch The end was surprising we Were glad our favorites were well and we felt that justice was served
I love Ms. Writing's series of books and I have read all of them! I like all the twists and turns and enjoy trying to guess the answers before the heroine.
I'm enjoying reading this series. It's light reading ,in a nice setting , with real characters, with a mystery twist. A pleasant way to escape into a book. :-)
