The colours were really fun but I’m a sucker for the original.

This was such a fun read. I found it randomly in Waterstones and decided to finally see what Tank Girl was all about. The comic collects issues from 1988 to 1990, packed with footnotes and raw, punk-style art from Hewlett and Martin.

It definitely screams “late ’80s” – chaotic, edgy, and totally unfiltered. The writing is sharp and weird in the best way, and the visuals are wild. It’s not always easy to follow, but that’s kind of the point.

I’m 13 and I really enjoyed it, but I should note it’s not really aimed at that age group – I’d say it’s more of a 16+ comic due to the language and mature themes. That said, I have Asperger’s-type autism and consider myself rather mature for my age, so it really does depend on the individual.

It’s not for everyone, but if you’re into bizarre, rebellious comics, this one delivers.

I loved reading this. My mum made me watch the film claiming I'd love it (I did). I wasn't aware of where the source material came from until after. I just knew I had to get my hands on it. I know my mum, who sadly is not longer with us, would have stolen thos from me the second I finished reading this.

I enjoyed the way it somewhat felt like what I've seen of modern Australia. The characters were well written and very lovable. I found myself rather attached to the camp koala.

Updated for the 30th Anniversary of Tank Girl, this takes the first year’s material and colorizes it. Tracy’s Bailey’s color work does add to the original black and white comic.

Very rough around the edges. Pacing is way off, even for a strip, the humor is super dated and pushing through the awkward lettering felt like a choir, but seeing the late punk aesthetic in comic form was a rare treat (it is reserved to zine and album cover artwork these days).

It's a classic comic for its time, with a fun plot. If you enjoy Gorillaz or even Amyl and the Sniffers, you'll enjoy these Tank Girl comics.

honestly the only reason I am giving this 4 stars is the font/lettering is very hard to read. Other than if you like chaotic adventure filled comics you will enjoy this very much as long as you can get past the font/lettering. In my opinion it's worth it.
