This is a really neat book which, at times, can be quite amusing. It also includes a lot of things where the crooks are intellectually deficient. To put it mildly.

There are also some rather famous cases here including what happened to the Mary Celeste. The one theory they don't have is that there were fumes from the barrels of alcohol that made the people on the boat worried there would be an explosion. They got on lifeboat and attached it to the ship but at a distance, planning to return when they thought it was safe. Something went wrong, the connection broke and they ending up without the ship and they died.

It also talks about the Lizzie Borden case, the disappearance of Jude Crater, a woman who was murdered and her body literally cut in half and a wide variety of other topics.

I really liked the book.

Some interesting tidbits but not as good as Uncle John's True Crime also by Portable Press or The Stupid Crook Book by Leland Gregory. While those two had me not wanting to put them down (and eager to pick them back up when I managed to drag myself away) this one only managed to catch my full attention every now and then. And unlike the other two mentioned book I didn't feel the need to show a bunch of the stories to everyone.

There was quite a lot of funny information to be had and you should have at least two fun facts you'll want to share after reading this. Rather than "Strange Crime", this might be better titled "Strangely Stupid Criminals ft. the Occasionally Interesting but Not as Stupid Crime".

I know it’s taken me a long time to read through this.
However, that’s only because I kept wanting to read all the stories to at least one other person, and there was nobody to read to.
But, the stories in this book are what make this book awesome!

meh

Merely average. Lacks the flow of other Portable Press titles.

It’s OKAY, but not the best read in the world.
