Remember – Robert J. Crane
When we left Sienna last she had just turned herself in to the authorities and surrendered. Things have not gone well since. However, her brother Reed and her true friends have not given up on clearing her name. We learn that powerful people are trying to eliminate Sienna, but she is not quitting without a fight, being the badass we have come to love even without her powers. Along the we are introduced to a couple of individuals who are on her side. The rest as Harry says is fate. Mr. Crane over the past few episodes has teased us the reader on titbits on Revelen. This chapter gives us more details and more characters to add to the mix. Once again, we have a hot page turner keeping us up until the concluding page is read. Well done. The Sienna Nealon saga continues.

A fantastic distraction from having my car nicked and the tax man hitting me for every penny I (don't) have :)

As ever, an absolute corker of a book. I think my only complaint is that we haven't quite got to Revelen just yet (yeah I know, story arc, blah blah blah lol) but what more than makes up for this is a bit more about the Cube - I kind of feel that there weren't any majorly in-depth descriptions of the meta jail prior to this - at least not to this level. I'm loving the fact that we're back to stripped-down Sienna also - for me it's always when she's shown just how strong she is, and true to form she seriously prods buttocks..

Pesky Sigourney is back once again, and we get a few flashes of info about who she is - not too much, just enough to keep us on tenterhooks waiting for the next installment.. which, as always, I will be.

Favorite series

Looking for smart sarcastic heroine and a great supporting cast of characters good and bad ;-), here you go. If you like Piers Anthony, Jim Butcher and Tom Clancy style writing well you should check out this series. Smart well thought out storylines, fun characters that make you laugh out loud but also have you questioning just what is up around the next corner is all in this series. Once you read one you will be going back to the books that started it all, The Girl in the Box portion of the series and loving every crazy adventure and twist of a story. Mr. Crane has a great ability to tell a story and from series to series can be completely fresh in his writing style.

Robert J Crane has a way of working the Sienna story. If you read all of them, you know the one big thing he is consistent about: The harder it is for her, the more deadly she gets. There's already a whole book earlier in the series of her up against a bunch of Meta-Humans while she's dosed with a power suppressant. And that's when she became the deadliest person. Rose might have been the stronger Succubi, but Sienna was the deadlier. And this book makes that distinction between strength and deadliness absolutely clear again.

It also fills in some interesting holes and adds more Metas to the story. I'm wondering now if my guess as to the identity of "Penny" is correct.

Good book, good series, well written, I've already pre-ordered the next.

You know what?

Despite everything he has put our tortured heroine through over the pages of the In the Box and Out of the Box series, when he doles out more of the story arc in this manner, I can forgive him. Mostly.

This is penance with a side helping of disbelief and a dollop of subdued hope. Once again, Crane drives the story forward with steely focus, and still allows for character development.

But hang on to your hats people, because this is, I suspect, the calm before the storm that is brewing over a certain country's borders....

Another fab addition to the series

I voluntarily reviewed an advanced reader copy of this book.

Absolutely loved this book. This is Sienna at her best. You really get to appreciate a "powerless" Sienna because "powerless" Sienna is an even more dangerous Sienna. It seems like she got her mojo back after that Rose debacle/nightmare/depowering. You can see where Rose made her memories swiss cheese. There are some things that would be so helpful to Sienna, if she could just ...... remember. Even so, she is still confident and just as snarky as ever! She knows she has no one to count on, so she just keeps doing what she does best, wreck people. Even at the cost to her own body. I am anxiously awaiting the next book!!!

Sierra fights the cube

The story continues with Sierra facing a small group of meta humans within the cube. Mysterious supporters show up just in the nick of time and a new story line is teased.

The dialogue remains clunky even this far into the series. A heavy reliance on quick quips and verbal bravado makes the story line repetitive. Various meta humans make a quick cameo appearance and then just as quickly fade away. The end result is a somewhat bloated story line.

What saves this story is fast skimming and short novels that are easily binged.

Amazeballs!

Abso loved this! Sienna at her kick arsery, witty best! Loved Owens, June and Sigoury Weaver the doc. Glad Harry turned up and sooooo glad Reed got the vid of innocence. Greg and the cast ensemble at their best. Can't wait for Hero! Who Is behind Revelen?? Is it wrong that I live my life in anticipation of these books? Maybe......... Pffft Thanks Mr. Crane, another absolute cracker xxxx

Fantastic

Well now on book, what, 34? And still going strong. I tell you fellow readers, this author is bad for your health!! My other favorite authors are piling up on my kindle yet I cannot stop reading the adventures of Sienna, girl in the box. I will continue until author stops writing or I go blind. Recommend this series for any one who loves action, underdogs and heros. Warning once you start, there is no going back. LOL.

Great read

Five stars for the story, but three stars for editing. There were a lot more errors that slipped through than there usually are. Sienna Nealon is as tough and mouthy as always, even without her powers to back up the mouth. Very good storytelling and the action and drama are great. I would recommend this story to anybody who enjoys great dialog and really good action.

21 books in & can't wait for more!

Love the parallel storyline in this book. Lots happening with Sienna & Reed with the Team. All our fave characters are back, some old villains reappear & disappear a la RJC kill it if it isn't dead mode.
If you're a Gotb fan you'll love the direction this is taking, lots of possibilities
Tyvm for a great read 😗👍

The Cube, Sienna's new home where almost everyone there is against her and she's dosed up with power suppressant. Mr. Crane takes us into a metahuman prison with a warden who has rigged the place to allow the death of Sienna Nealon who now has the strength of a human and is trapped with metas who have their powers.

Sienna is targeted in the Cube by inmates & powerful people pulling strings to keep her vulnerable to assassination. Reed and the others search for proof to her innocence. The plot with Revelen thickens. Very interesting read. Robert is very talented keeping things interesting/dispensable after 31 books.

So, after a very un-Sienna-like surrender at the end of "Driven", we were left wondering how our favourite succubus would fare in the metahuman justice system. In true Sienna style, she makes plenty of enemies and a few friends along the way, but, as its Sienna, can you ever be sure someone is really who they appear to be?

Another hit out of the park!! Crane makes me hate him as much as I love him, AGAIN, in this one!! Why aren’t these coming out daily? Well edited and written so smoothly you don’t dare put it down for fear of breaking the spell that is Out of the Box.

Yet another great Sienna book. I was a little worried for her this time, considering that she was going to be locked down with the same people who wanted to kill her. Seeing her rise up against the yard yet again was amazing, and Reed's loyalty to his sister was impressive. Loved every chapter!

Interesting

Even though it’s made up it is clearly a great work. It keeps my interest to want to know what happens next. The only thing I don’t like is it breaks down too many books but that’s OK I go to the next one.

Empire Strikes Back

If you from that title you realize this book is mostly filler between story highlights, but it did move some small story elements forward.
