Our local library is doing its February "blind date with a book" program and the book SHADOW BOY BY SUSAN E KIRBY was on of my "dates." SHADOW BOY is a YA book about a teen boy who, on his skateboard suffers a traumatic and horrible brain injury. He has to learn to walk, talk and do all the mundane things we take for granted all over again. His memory has been erased as well. The story progresses on with him coming home and finally overcoming the injury.

Not being a YA any more you would think I would never enjoy it but let me tell you it was one of the best books I have read in awhile. It was so good and yes it was short, I read it in only a few days. I was very impressed with it. The way the author tells the story as if SHE is the character makes it a very enjoyable book.
