Welcome to Hedgewitch Cove, Louisiana, where there's no such thing as normal.
Cat-shifter Curt Warrick doesn't want to take a road trip with five other guys but when his best friend leaves him no choice, he finds himself in a van, stuffed full of men, headed to Louisiana. It should come as no surprise when everything that could go wrong on the trip does. That's okay though, Curt is used to the weird and wacky, after all, he was born and raised in a town that is the epitome of it all. There is a bright side. The trip will give him a chance to expand his enterprise.
There is nothing Missi (Mississippi) Peugeot hates more than rich men who think they can throw money around to get what they want. Okay, that's a lie. She hates change. That's why she's happy to stay in her tiny hometown of Hedgewitch Cove, Louisiana. Protected by magic, the town has kept its quaint, cozy feel--that is until a flashy, yet fetching, stranger shows up in a van that screams "flower power," announcing he's looking to buy property and begin developing the town. Missi's grandmother always warned her that her words had consequences. When she speaks out of anger, the magic in her rises to the challenge, putting a curse on Curt. Not that the man needed any help in the cursed department, seeing as how he already has a spell of chaos cast over him. By who, they don't know.
Now Missi just has to keep Mr. Flashy alive long enough to get him back up north where he belongs before her words come back to haunt him. There is only one slight hiccup with her plan: every second she tries to keep mishap from befalling Curt leaves her one step closer to wanting him to stay.

I think it might have helped with enjoying this book if I'd read the books in the Everlasting series first. As such, the first part of the story felt a little tedious to me, so it was hard to really get into the heart of it. It had its good moments, for sure, so my rating sits between a 3 to a 4.
I dont care what Mandy Roth writes it is always an awesome read
Now we have Missi who has let her mouth lead the way and that is not a good thing being a witch and all and now instead of making the sexy werecat leave she is wanting him to stay. Change is not always a bad thing
This IS a spin-off of another series... BUT, there's altogether too much name dropping and info dumping involved here to suit me. It took about the first thirty percent of the book for the real story to start.
From there on, it was pretty good, laugh out loud funny, and I've already read the next one.
Curt Warrick stood next to his best friend since childhood, staring at the brightly colored monstrosity before them.
This book is a spin-off of the Everlasting series. Perhaps I should have started there because I felt a bit lost. Curt gets dragged into a road trip with his best friend Hugh, Hugh's grandfather-in law and a couple more guys. They are leaving Everlasting, Maine which is a safe haven for supernaturals to go to Hedgewith Cove, Louisana. Hugh's wife gives him a potion before the trip to make sure he is nice. It sort of went downhill from there for me.
Curt looks to use the trip as an opportunity to buy real estate in Hedgewitch Cove which is also a safe haven. Mississippi aka Missi is a mouthy witch that shows her displeasure for the idea.
The premise of the story was good. I'm not sure where it derailed for me. I love VW buses so that was a happy place for me. The rest of the time I felt like I would read a bit, wonder what in the world I had just read and reread it. Perhaps I should have started with the Everlasting books first. It is touted as a standalone but I felt like I needed some more info on the characters.
It really disturbed me the Hugh's wife Penelope would "spell" him and send him off. And this was not the first time.
I know I'm in the minority but I really did not care for this book.
Oh my Ms. Roth you really came through for me. I was stuck in the hospital not knowing what was going on with my health. Your story of Curt and the gang on a road trip in the older model vehicle that they swore wouldn't make it that far. And Missi speaking before she thinks has gotten her in a bit of trouble with Curt but he aims to prove to her Daddy the Sheriff that she's his mate and he will protect her with his life.
Who was behind the missing men that Missi heard arguing just days ago. Witches from a bad branch that was thought to have turned into the light may not be as they are portraying. Curt and Missi need to get to the bottom of this mystery while falling hard for each other.
I voluntarily read an advance copy and have not been compensated in any way. I highly recommend Ms. Roth as her stories always take me on a trip and have some fine book boyfriends to fall in love with.
I am really torn with this book. I like the story and the premise, but I was a little thrown off by the lack of murder. I listened to it on audio and sometimes I struggle with male narrators for female characters. I think the change in voices and pitch throws me off. I have only read one of the other Everlasting books and I really liked it, so this was a bit of a let down.
Curt is a were-shifter on a east coast road trip with 5 of his best buds. They travel in a hippie van named Sunshine from Everlasting, Maine to Hedgewitch Cove, GA. This is where things got a little confusing for me. Curt literally has money falling out of his pockets, but he is cursed. He rolls in to town, runs over the bicycle of Missi, a local witch and insta-falls for her, realizing she is his mate. I am not 100 % sure where things go from here. They are together in the shop, then people are being cursed...I kinda got lost. Like I said, I really liked to characters and the premise, but the story line got a little fuzzy for me.
Curt Warrick (sexy playboy Lion Shifter from Everlasting) is the star in this 3rd book along with his Mate Missy (Mississippi) Peugeot. Missy comes from a long line of powerful witches who happens to have just a bit of hunter in her as well . Cat-shifter Curt Warrick doesn't want to go a road trip with five other guys but when his best friend leaves him with no choice, he ends up in a van, stuffed full of men, headed to Louisiana. It shouldnt come as a surprise when everything that could go wrong on the trip does. Like Curt meeting Missy by running her over- EPIC!! Curt ends up getting "mysteriously" cursed, and Missy is trying to keep him safe while at the same time trying to get him to leave. Its that push/pull and makes for great reading.Their relationship is full of humor, zany fun, and heat. Another awesome paranormal read from Ms Roth.
A cute Ever After book. It was a bit hard to get into as the first few chapters are a bunch of men making fun of each other and joking around before starting their trip. But once the story started it was exactly what I was expecting from an Ever After story.
To date I’ve tried to be a very generous grader for this series because it is intended to be a fun barely PG paranormal romantic series and for the most part it is. But there were things about this story I found troubesome even though I enjoyed it overall I just can’t ignore in my review. The book opens with our male characters from Everlasting Maine preparing to take a road trip to Hedgewitch Cove Louisiana to accompany Wilbert Messing who is delivering some supernatural relics that possess great and dangerous power. Hugh and Jake don’t want to leave their very pregnant wives Penelope and Kelsey. But these same women who in their stories couldn’t bear to be away from their chosen mates can’t get them out of town and away from them fast enough now. Seems each in their third trimester of their pregnancies have had enough of their over protective husbands hovering. Also, with the help of Petey they’ve concocted a potion and put them in cookies they fed Hugh, Jake and Leo that is supposed to help them bond on the road trip . Seems Penelope’s grandfather Will and Kelsey’s brother Leo are no more fond of their fated mates now than they were months ago when they mated. Problem is the loaded cookies make them hug instead of punch each other but doesn’t do anything to change their attitudes. It’s not quite as funny as Polly’s potion to stop Hugh from cursing in Twice Hunted Once Shy but it’s pretty funny. And Petey on the road trip is hysterical. My problem is the guys gathering and preparing to leave seemed like it took up the majority of the book before they ever even got on the road. Well if you’ve read a synopsis of this book you know it’s the story of how Hugh’s BFF Curt finds his fated mate. Curt is a good guy. But he’s also rich, a bit arrogant and very much a ladies man with no intentions of settling down. He’s heading down to Hedgewitch with the guys to see their BFF Sigmund who has been there for months learning to control is late blooming shifter powers which turn him into a Kraken. Curt also wants to check out some property in Hedgewitch for a possible investment opportunity. Little does he know what’s in store for him. Kurt has been cursed which caused gold coins to fall from his pockets with a lion on one side and either a chaos or death sign on the other side. He has no idea who has cursed him. But the whole chaos thing causes him and his fellow travelers nothing but problems on the drive from Maine to Louisiana. Our female lead is Mississippi a member of a large family of which she is the youngest. Her father, Hedgewitch’s sheriff comes from a long line of Hunters and her mother comes from a long line of powerful witches. Which as a side note means Missi and Jake’s mate Kelsey have a lot in common. Missi is the complete opposite of what Curt normally looks for in a hookup. He likes his women with red lips, tight dresses and high heels. Missi prefers loose flowing clothes, flipflops if she wears anything on her feet and never wears make-up. She’s sort of a flower child at heart. If being the total opposite in what usually attracts Curt to a woman, Missi fell in love and was burned by a good looking rich guy in the past and wants nothing to do with flashy rich guys who like to throw their money around. And the property Curt is there to investigate is owned by Missi who uses it for growing herbs to sell in her magic shop. We spend an awful lot of time meeting or hearing about Missi’s family and the residents of Hedgewitch Cove because undoubtedly there will be several more books based upon her family and the town. It just seems to me that most of this book was devoted to the guys preparing to head off to Hedgewitch Cove and getting the 411 on Missi’s family and its residents. And herein lies my other problem with this story. Okay, I know it’s a light hearted paranormal rom-com and fated mates are supposed to be impossibly attracted to each other when the meet but Missi isn’t nearly as smitten with the rich good looking Curt upon first sight as he is with her. Yet despite their obvious difference she’s done “that thing” with Curt a couple of times and is mated with him within hours of mating him. IMHO considering their differences and Missi’s initial reaction to the idea of being Curt’s mate the author could have spent a little more time with them working through them before they’re married and mated and Missi is delighted with it. For a rom-com there really wasn’t much romance or time spent focused just on the couple.
I love it! Curt, a lion shifter, who is totally happy as a no strings attached bachelor, is on a road trip with some of his friends. He is always laughing at them, they have gotten mated, & are always doing whatever it takes to make their wives happy. He is more than happy that is not him. Half way down the road when they are stopped, gold coins start showing up around him. Petey looks at them & notices the magic symbols on them. He tells them that they are cursed. He asks Curt who has ticked off enough that they would put a death curse on him. He can't think of anyone that angry at him. They continue onto their destination, Hedgewitch Cove. Wilber is holding an apocalypse vase trying to keep it together because Curt kicked it & cracked it on the way there. Missi, has been warned that a rich guy will try to buy her back lot, one of her friends saw it from her spirit signs. Another came into her antique shop to purchase something, & told her, her mate would be here soon & she would almost be hit by flower power. She has no idea what that means. She doesn't even have a boyfriend. After she goes to do something for her sister, she is on her way back to her shop. Curt looks at Petey & runs a red light. He is driving the hippy van painted with flowers that Petey secured for them for the trip. Curt almost hits Missi & crunches the bike she is walking back with her. She understands what flower power means now. She does not want a mate, especially not one like this! She curses him. He gets a look at her as he tries to apologize for the accident. His lion lets him know this is the one. He isn't too thrilled either. She already had to deal with a flashy guy with a lot of money who thought he could buy anything. After awhile he found out she wasn't going to move. He dropped her & left. She wasn't too upset to see him go. He always thought he could wave jewelry at her & she would do whatever he wanted. She wasn't like that. Missi's dad was calling in her mom, grandma, sisters & brothers to help lift the curse she put on him along with the one that had already been there when he had come into town. When they where looking into journals & books to find out what could be found about it nothing had come up yet. When they came back to the shop he had claimed her. It seemed that the curse Missi put on him had been lifted, & the other one as well. Her grandmother tells them that the curse he came in with was from her. She had been trying to get her grandchildren's mates to them by speeding it up. When the mates were joined together the curse dropped. She wanted great grandchildren. I love it. It's a great story to join in with Everlasting.
Don't Stop Bewitching Mandy M. Roth Bewitchingly Ever After Book 1
Well if you have been following along with the Happily Everlasting Series then this is a book you are going to absolutely love. Curt Warrick (playboy Lion Shifter from Everlasting) is the focus in this book along with his Magical Mate Missy (Mississippi) Peugeot. Missy comes from a long line of powerful witches with a bit of hunter thown into the mix. If you thought Everlasting Maine was a querky little town just wait until you get a look see into Hedgewitch Cove, Louisiana. Normal in this town is thrown out the window! I really don't like to give any spoilers and usually I don't have a problem not posting any. This book however it so hard not to do just that. I LOVED this story, I don't think I have laughed so much in a long time. Hunters, Shifters, Pirates, Hellhounds and a lot more colorful characters all in one town. Nothing unusual there right! Curt has been cursed with bad luck and has no idea how or who has done it to him. Can he and his friends along with his mate save him and end the curse before it kills him?
Curt is off on a road trip with five other guys from Everlasting, Maine to Hedgewitch Cove, Louisiana. The icing to the whole cake is the van they are taking on their little road trip. A van that screams Flower Power, covered in peace signs and flowers. Nothing screams manly like van sraight out of woodstock! There are so many moments that will make you laugh out loud so hard you can feel yourself wiping your eyes. The shifters you found yourself loving from Everlasting find a whole new bunch of crazies to pal around with. I can't wait to see what is next for us to treasure. As I mentioned I don't like spoilers but I can honestly say you won't be disapointed by reading this. All of the books can be read as standalone, but once you read one of them you just have to read about all of them. The entire series is well done and so much fun to read. Fall in love with these loveable characters, you won't regret it.
I was given this book in exchange for an honest review
Cat-shifter Curt Warrick doesn't want to take a road trip with five other guys but when his best friend leaves him no choice, he finds himself in a cramped van, that is anything but roadworthy, headed to Louisiana. It should come as no surprise when everything that could go wrong on the trip, does. That’s okay though, Curt is used to the weird and wacky, after all, he was born and raised in Everlasting, Maine a town that is the epitome of strange. There is a bright side. The trip will give him a chance to expand his enterprise and possibly unload the mysterious gold coins that keep appearing at random along the way.
There is nothing Missi (Mississippi) Peugeot hates more than rich men who think they can throw money around to get what they want. Okay, that’s a lie. She hates change. That’s why she’s happy to stay in her tiny hometown of Hedgewitch Cove. Protected by magic, the town has managed to keep its quaint, cozy feel—that is until a flashy, yet fetching, stranger shows up in a van that screams “flower power,” announcing he’s looking to buy property and begin developing the area.
Missi’s grandmother always warned her that her words have consequences. She soon learns exactly what her Grandma meant. It was never her intention to curse Curt, but once the cat (pun intended) is out of the bag, there is no putting it back. Now it’s her responsibility to keep Curt safe until she can convince him to leave town.
There is only one slight hiccup in her plan, every second she tries to keep mishap from befalling Curt, leaves her one step closer to wanting him to stay. With a spell of chaos hovering, a bag full of cursed coins, and a pull neither seem to be able to deny, these opposites find they attract more than just each other.
Ohhh my gosh how much i love this series and this world! Happily Everlasting World is a fun one and i absolutely love it!! Bewithingly ever after is proving to be equally amazing, magical and fun! I absolutely loved Missi and Curt! Such a fun and cozy read! I can't wait for more!
I received an ARC of this book in exchange for an honest review.
Don’t Stop Bewitching is Mandy Roth’s third novel in the multi-authored, Happily Everlasting series. The series originated in the town of Everlasting, Maine but in this installment we take a road trip to the enchanting town of Hedgewick Cove, Louisiana.
Curt Warrick is rich, handsome, somewhat arrogant cat shifter who lives in Everlasting. He has a successful business, good friends, and an endless steam of willing women. He has no desire to settle down anytime soon. When he gets wrangled into taking a road trip to Hedgewick Cove with his best friend Hugh and a few other guys from Everlasting, he has no idea just how cursed his life will become.
Mississippi Peugeot is witch who comes from a long line of strong witches. She has lived in Hedgewick Cove her whole life and couldn’t imagine living anywhere else. She loves her family, her quirky neighbors and all of her friends. And she runs a very successful business. Her life is great until a rich, flashy stranger almost runs her down in the street.
I liked this book. It was funny and sweet. There was a lot of detail in the beginning as we learned about Hedgewick Cove and an entirely new cast of characters. Mississippi is funny and kind but she also has a fiery temper. Curt is arrogant but underneath, he really is a good guy who cares for his friends and has a good heart. It was funny to see Missi not fall for his charm. Of course it was hilarious to see the antics of the other characters from previous stories; Hugh, Penelope, Kelsey, Jake, Leopoldo, and Wilbur. New characters Furfur, Hank, and Black Beard the pirate gave us some chuckles as well. And it was interesting to find out more back story on Petey. I love this series, Hedgewick Cove definitely feels like a place you want to visit. I certainly can’t wait to read more happily ever afters for my favorite characters, hopefully Sigmund, Wilbur Petey, or even Leopold. It will be interesting to see who’s next to find love and which town they will find it in.
So that you’ll understand some things or people that are mentioned in Don’t Stop Bewitching, this is a spin-off series from Happily Everlasting… which is set in Everlasting, Maine which is another safe town for paranormals just like Hedgewitch Cove, Louisiana. If it’s at all possible for you, I’d suggest going back to the Happily Everlasting series. It’s a funny, entertaining series and will help set up the events that are part of this new spin-off series. You “could” step right into this world at this point, but, in my opinion, you’ll get a better reading experience if you know the background. But – you do what works for you.
If you haven’t read the Happily Everlasting books, then the beginning of this story is going to go slowly for you. The guys are heading out on a road trip to deliver some potent paranormal artifacts and to check up on a former resident who is a latent developing shifter to see how his control and his life is going now in.. you guessed it… Hedgewitch Cove. There is a bit of spell-weaving prior to them getting on the road which will have hilarious and disastrous results for these five men – one, in particular, Curt.
It’s unfortunate for Curt that upon arrival he actually runs over Missi’s bike… yeah, not a great start with a powerful witch and your mate. From that moment onwards, Missi will try to get Curt to leave town as she doesn’t want any developer coming in, buying up property, and trying to change her hometown. Yet, the draw to keep Curt close is equally as strong. These two are going to get into some interesting arguments and situations before all is said and done.
There is some bad magic going on, some false accusations, lots of tongue-in-cheek humor, and two unlikely people discovering that they belong together. I enjoyed this continuation of the characters from the Happily Everlasting world, but I’m also definitely glad that I read that series before starting this one.
You may have seen a couple of previous reviews from me for Mandy M Roth's books. The series I have read have been written with humor, nods to the 80's, are paranormal, and remind me a lot of Kristen Painter's books (which anyone who knows me knows that is a GOOD thing!).
This book was chosen a little differently than my normal selections. I had just finished a horrendous book (an assigned review from InDTale magazine - when the August edition comes out I am sure you will be able to figure out which one it was), and I needed a palate cleanser! Usually I will go for one of my favorite rereads, a book I guarantee will make me smile, and most importantly have accurately based research. It was the "research" part that actually inspired me to grab this little gem off my shelf. The few books I have read by Mandy are immaculately researched, down to the finest detail, and that was what I needed.
With that in mind I reached for "Don't Stop Bewitching", which is actually the first book in the Happily Everlasting series, and having read book 3, already I decided to jump in.
I personally didn't enjoy this one quite as much as "Do You Really Want To Hurt Me", but that isn't to say it wasn't a great read. I wasn't in the best head space, and the other book was packed full of 80's references, and had Luc, which gave it a bit of an unfair advantage. That being said this has some hilarious characters, be sure to pay attention to BlackBeard, and the book definitely did what I needed it to and let me escape back to something that made me happy.
With this being the first in the series, there is a lot more background information that I think most readers would agree was a good thing. For me, the initial journey, whilst having funny moments, was definitely outshone by what happened after they arrived at their destination.
A solid 4 stars from me - and definitely a recommendation for readers that love a little light, funny, paranormal romance.
This is a great book; this is the first book in the Bewitchingly Ever After series written by Mandy Roth. This is a great book with a wonderful story and well developed characters. This book will keep you reading long into the night. If you are looking for a great book, then you need to read this book. I am looking forward to reading the next book by this great author.
Absolutely howling with laughter! It will make you laugh from beginning to end, but the first chapter will have your sides splitting, Infact it had me laughing so much I couldn't catch my breath.
Poor Curt has been cursed, Hugh, Jake and Leo have been poisoned (but not quite), Wilber is carrying an item the could end the world, and Petey just wanted to go for fun. The wives of High and Jake thought as they were all going the Hedgewitch for one reason or another, they could all go together and make it a fun road trip in a camper van. l If this is the first time you have picked up this series of Cosy Paranormal Romance, then I would recommend that you start with the Happily Everlasting Series as that will introduce you to most of the characters in the book.
I also think it's great how Mandy M Roth has made the transfer from one series to the the next. You get to meet up with some of your favourite characters from Everlasting . And introduced to new just as funny and fantastic characters of Hedgewitch Cove.
This is another very well written and an amazing book by Ms Roth, she certainly had me guessing (and getting it wrong!😄) all through the book. And I'm betting I'm not the only one when I say I really hope we get to find out more of Captain Petey's history, the old coot certainly pulls on your heart strings in this book.
This is a magical cosy mystery romance. It's a clean romance, so you will have to use your own imagination as to what they get up to. I can guarantee you will be laughing aloud all the way through, and with all good PNR's you will get you HEA. If I could I would give this more than the five stars allowed.
I enjoyed the Everlasting series and wanted to see how some of those secondary characters are going to fall hard into love. But...this story felt heavy on the quips and banter and sort of light on the romance. Where Everlasting was quirky, Hedgewitch Cove is just bonkers. In the "let's throw everything PLUS the kitchen sink" type of way. And again, there was SO MUCH banter that I felt like it took away from Missi and Curt's story.
I'd even go so far as to say this was more a road trip book than a romance. All the hugging it out and singing in the van took up more page space than Missi and Curt getting to know one another. (Honestly, I wasn't even expecting a whole lot of that. Shifters tend to fall hard and fast in these type of books and I usually like that. I wanted more this time around, I guess.)
So. Curt and his buddies have a road trip planned down to Hedgewitch Cove. There's a curse, another curse, a whole lot of manly hugging, and we find out Captain Petey has a past. Oh, there's also Missi and her family, who don't like technology and have been part of Hedgewitch forever.
I have the next two books in this series, so I'm going to read them, but...I want more. This relationship felt about as deep as a puddle and it wasn't what I was looking for right now.
Everlasting seems almost normal compared to Hedgewitch Cove. Curt was not excited for a road trip with five other guys but their wives wanted a break. He liked the guys alright, just didn't look forward to being trapped with them for hours in a hippy-van. Who knew what little spells or curses they be dealing with. Little did he know he was the target this time.
Missie didn't like rich guys. She didn't want to sell her land. She sure didn't want to sell it to a rich guy no matter how gorgeous. Her temper usually meant trouble for someone. The prediction about how it would end this time just couldn't be true. Could it?
Curt didn't plan on finding a mate like the rest of these guys. Wouldn't mind getting to know Missie though. Watching the guys deal with the strange goings on, the added curses and threats while pushing Curt and Missie together is a blast. There are the baked down curses, the ghost with...gotta read to find out and all the other oddities. Just the place for them. Will they live long enough to free Curt from his spells and curses?
Another fun encounter with the supernaturals, hunters, and witches.
Everlasting When Wilber Messing ex hunter and owner of Hunted treasures and antiques and artifacts shops has a special delivery of the super natural kind his daughter penelope and her best friend Kelsey thinks it's the perfect time to for some male bonding for thier mates and dad. So Hugh, a werewolf that's penelope mate, Jake the centaur is Kelsey's mate plus the roped in Kelsey's brother Leo and hugh's best friend curt the cat shifter. Not one of these guys wanted to go lol crazy Petey just told everyone he was going for fun and he had the van it turned out to be a flower power vw van that the girls thought was pretty but the guys didn't think you should be on the road. Girls won and off they went. Oh did I mention the girl put a spell on them to get a long lol very funny Hedgewitch cover Missi (mississippi) owns charmed life magic shop and she is about to add to all the craziness going on lol OMG I loved it. So much fun to read. These characters are amazing. I love the interaction they just don't stop. It's full of fun and craziness I couldn't put it down and can't wait for the next book to come out! Voluntarily reviewed a copy and I honestly loved it.
Mandy Roth- Don’t Stop Bewitching: A Happily Everlasting World Novel (Bewitchingly Ever After Book 1)
This first book in a spinoff of the Everlasting series was a short but fun story that centered on hunky Curt, Lionshifter, accompanied by many of the fun male crew from the magical Maine town. The interactions of the shifters, hunters and Peter making their way to another magically touched town in Louisiana by way of Perry’s old hippy Volkswagen van were very entertaining and enjoyable. The book, which could be read as a stand-alone,was a bit short and rushed at the end but still a very enjoyable funny read. I would have loved an epilogue and perhaps a teaser for the next book in the series. There are many new characters in this new town whose stories I look forward to reading, as well as uncovering the mystery of a certain well liked, slightly off, slightly crazy fisherman. The whole series is a lot of fun and filled with lots of paranormal and magical creatures and characters, mystery, romance and lol humor. Reading the books in order including starting with the original anthology will definitely add to the enjoyment of the series and spinoffs.
I fell in love with Everlasting, Maine in the Happily Everlasting series. In Once Hunted, Twice Shy, Ms. Roth introduced so many intriguing characters that I hoped would get their own stories. Honestly the one I hoped for the most was Curt. Ms. Roth did not disappoint. Even though this story is taking place in a new city and not Everlasting, Captain Pete made the new location fantastical in his recounting of past memories. I thoroughly enjoyed the progression of falling for his other half that you see Curt go through, especially after all his comments in previous books. Kurtz woman is amazing. I can't actually even say that without smiling. She is taking none of his ego and brings him down to size.
It is hard to review this one without spoilers. Since I don't like spoilers I don't want to leave any here but suffice to say you will not be disappointed in this new series. The direction and tone are truly enjoyable. And as I normally tell my husband, since this is a cozy Romance, I really am reading it for the amazing story instead of the "smut" as he calls it.
Ohh, I love it! A new town, a new cast of characters, some of our favorites from Everlasting, and a twist on a curse no one ever saw coming. The author created this phenomenal sister city to Everlasting, and as hard as it is to believe, it might be a little whackier. The townspeople are their own brand of special, but no matter their squabble they pull together when needed. Curt was everything I hoped he would be now that he’s the leading man, and his main squeeze is a strong feisty woman who won’t let him forget it. Now if only I could have a hot, pirate in a towel pop into my kitchen.... This book is full of the humor and excitement that this author is famous for with the mysterious air she brings to her cozy romances. I look forward to reading more about this city and the town of Everlasting in the future.
DNF. Got about halfway before I finally gave up. Was looking for something cozy/quirky to read as a palette cleanser from the dark stuff I’ve been reading. Needless to say, this fell short.
Quirky is fine; but this is way beyond that. Most of the story is like trying to read a severely long run on sentence. There are so many small details and weird tangents that you’re rarely on the main story line. And the main story line itself leaves you lost because there’s no details for it. All the details go to these weird tangents that have nothing to do with the story.
I couldn’t bring myself to read further. I can’t even keep the main characters names straight since all the focus has been on the side characters that don’t even have dialogue. No thanks. 53% of the way through, yet 100% done.
This was a cute story about a special magical town called Hedgewitch Cove that is a safe haven for the magical and supernatural community.
POSSIBLE SPOILERS
Curt Warrick and some of his male friends are on a male bonding/delivery trip to Hedgewitch Cove but is this trip doomed before it even starts? Penelope, Kelsey and Petey have made a potion and dosed some of the guys going on the trip so they will get along and not kill each other. When they arrive in town Curt almost hits a pretty girl with a bike but unfortunately he does hit the bike which causes her to loose her temper and curse him! Missi has a strange feeling about one of the new out of towners especially when it turns out.....
