Fantasy collides with reality. Is it fate? ?

Lydia, captain of the Earth vessel Outreach II, and her crew were sent to explore the vastness of deep space to find inhabited worlds. The trip was the culmination of her childhood dreams. Plans are changed when trouble with the spaceship causes them to go off course and crash on a unknown planet in an uncharted star system. Most of them survive and soon discover they're not alone. The perfect planet is occupied with intelligent life, the kind you only read about in books.

Hesher's been alone for most of his life. It's never bothered him before, for he's been busy as the commander of Talonia's military. But, seeing all his friends fall in love and choose mates has him taking a closer look at his lonely life. His musings are interrupted when a strange ship full of humans falls from the sky. The weredragons have been discovered and it brings chaos to his world in more ways than he ever imagined.

Finding himself attracted to Lydia is enough of a problem as they are both stubborn and opinionated, but there is more to the story. Earth is in trouble and they need help. The weredragons are their only hope of survival. They have the only weapon that is capable of defeating Earth's attackers. Will they give up their anonymity to save the humans or let them be taken as slaves? Hesher is pulled in so many directions his soul is almost torn.

The weredragons are at a crossroads. Which way will they turn and will Hesher be lost in the process? ?

Hesher was finally ready to admit that he was lonely. He had no family but the military. And his close friends were all finding their mates. He was the last one left unmated. It was his job now to keep the mating attendees safe and protected, especially Shara who was a rare white weredragon and the king’s daughter. Some of the soldiers were feeling complacent that since they had destroyed the Savra enemy, they were safe. But Hesher told them it was the unknown they had to worry about. Someone out there could be more advanced and willing to risk all to attack them. They needed to be watchful.

After the wedding, Hesher transformed to his red dragon and took to the skies. There was no loneliness when he was flying. But now he felt rumblings overhead in the clouds! He roared a warning to the other weredragons on security duty. An out of control spaceship was hurtling right toward him!

Only 8 people died in the crash. The captain had saved the rest. The weredragons helped them repair the ship and allowed them to communicate with an Earth station. But they were not to provide coordinates to the planet. The king felt they should be allowed to go home but did not want other ships landing on Talonia. But Kelan had learned, in his listening to his Earth company that he had left in his employees’ hands, that Earth was having trouble with aliens and could not defeat them. The aliens were able to turn to a gas which weapons didn’t harm – there was an ingredient in the fire used that was missing. Now the captain begged for their help in saving Earth! Kelan and Hesher knew immediately what Earth needed to defeat the enemy – dragon fire was the missing ingredient in the weapons. And that meant Earth would know the dragons were real. Their secret would no longer be sustainable. How much were they willing to sacrifice for Earth? Could they do this and risk invasion of their own planet? And how would this change everyone’s future?

The story line here was very well done. I particularly enjoyed the description of the crash of the Outreach II and the details of everything that was happening inside the ship. It was very exciting, realistic, and let the reader admire the captain’s clever response to each part of the emergency. Thinking outside the box, she employed little known tactics that saved the lives of the aliens below while also saving her crew. She was remarkable. The Talonians were also an amazing group with true compassion. This book will certainly grab the reader from the start to the end! I can’t get enough of this series!

The Talonians sure had their world turned upside down when a human spaceship accidently crashed landed on their planet. However, I think it made for an intriguing story. Hesher is the last in his group of friends who hasn’t found love and refuses to think about giving a part of himself away. When the commander of the human spaceship meets Hesher they realize they have met their match. While also trying to save Earth, Hesher and Lydia soon realize they will have a bigger problem after war; deciding if their love will keep them together. This book had a little bit of it all - steamy romance, action and a well-connected flowing story. This can be read as a standalone or part of a series.

Hesher is the third book in the Talonian Warriors series.

Final Rating: 5 Stars

I don't understand how a book that has so much going on can be this boring. Is it the way it's written? Maybe....I don't know. But I really thought it was going to be better than it was. Again, these 5 star ARC reviews are praising this and I have no idea why. One positive thing I'll say about this one is that I think Hesher and Lydia really worked well as a couple. They had similar personalities, both usually used their brains, and by both being military people knew sometimes other things were more important.

We start off here with Shara's marriage to their medic (I can't for the life of me remember his name). The two of them take off right after, and it's not long after that that a huge spaceship comes crashing down onto their planet. Full of humans. Hesher is immediately impressed with their captain for many reasons and feels he can believe what she tells him. Now it just comes down to what to do with them all. A hard decision for his king to make.

Lydia feels she can trust Hesher and his people and she doesn't feel the need to lie when asked any questions. Honestly, I found it refreshing how forthright she was with her answers instead of the usual we seem to get where the humans fight tooth and nail not answer anything. Obviously it doesn't take long for these two to get together and fall for each other.

Then out of nowhere we learn that that these weird gas-like aliens have invaded Earth and there is only one thing that is able to harm or kill them. Dragon fire. What a convenient plot twist. So we get the whole back and forth about whether or not they should go to Earth and save them and blah blah blah. No surprise, they go to Earth. I guess the fighting wasn't bad, but how Hesher dealt with them was such a let down.

And now that Earth is safe, it's time for Lydia to make some choices. I really liked how Hesher, being the military man he is, would be returning to his planet no matter what and how Lydia knew that and didn't try and force him to change. Instead, she made her decision based on his feelings and her own.

So I'm quitting here. Sure, there are only two more books and the characters are mostly interesting...but they're just not holding my attention well enough to make it worth it.

Hesher is such a humble warrior. He feels that he needs to be the one responsible for the safety of his men and therefore, is not looking for a mate. After a spacecraft crash lands on their planet, all this changes. Lydia, Captain of the Earth spaceship, is injured in the crash. They were thrown off course and do not know where in the Universe they have landed. Hesher and Lydia are two very similar characters, both with a sense of responsibility to their people. Can they find common ground? When a situation on Earth intensifies, can Lydia count on the Talonian people for help? Action-packed scenes, realistic characters and an attraction that cannot be denied, what more could you want in one of Celeste’s books.

Another sexy alien read by Celeste Raye she knows how to write about sexy aliens and the women who tame them. Hesher is lonely all of his friends are finding their mates, he has a lot of close friends but that’s not enough for him anymore. A spaceship crash lands on Talonia, Hesher meets Lydia and they are both stubborn and deny their feelings towards each other but everything’s put on hold when earth calls out for help. A fantastic read I couldn’t put this book down it had grabbed a hold of me and it wouldn’t let me go. Thank you Celeste for another one of your fantastic books and I can’t wait to read more. A 5 plus ⭐️ read and I highly recommend this book it’s definitely well worth the read.

With each book in this series I'm growing more and more in live with how you treat each personality. It's funny watching and waiting to see the outcom,e. I  this story we find a weredragon that doesn't believe he deserves love but but the end find it ten-fold. And he she has family but doesn't find the right guy to master her or argue with her until Hester. It was a fabulous tale told of two different worlds coming together as one. I can't wait to see if there is another one and a new series in the making. Excellent read! I give it 5 stars. I voluntarily read and reviewed this book as an Advanced Reader's Copy.

Lydia and Hesher are brought together unexpectedly when her ship crashes on their planet. They have tried to keep their race secret but now have to make a decision.

This is a really good sci-fi romance and very well written. I really liked the characters. Lydia is a tough woman that really has worked hard to be a success. She takes her job of keeping her crew safe very seriously. Hesher wasn't looking for someone but has seen others find their mates. He wants to keep his people safe from harm. They make a great couple and have great chemistry.

I am voluntarily reviewing a copy I received.

Hesher is the commander of the Talonian military. He is feeling burnt out from the war with the Sarvo and the decision to destroy their planet. He feels he is alone and wants what Kelan and Tae have. It all seems to drop out of the sky. An earth ship is hit by an asteroid and crashes on Hesher's planet. Lydia is captain of the ship and she has to work with Hesher to repair her ship and get medical help for her crew. Another romance is brewing and another war but can two I'm in charge people make it work. Love this series it is a fun and lite read. Just an relaxing escape from the cares of the world.

I VOLUNTARILY REVIEWED AN ADVANCE READER COPY OF THIS BOOK

Another great sci-fi alien romance and adventure story that keeps you reading until the end of the book. Interspecies travel and protection gel together to make a very special story that can teach many how to get along with people – no matter the genre, species or color.

Imaginative, STEAMY, and yet suspenseful! A GREAT Science Fiction ROMANCE with OUTSTANDING recommendations!
Author Celeste Raye has found a winning formula. That is NOT to suggest that all of her books sound the same! If that were true, no reviewer would cite it as WINNING. What Raye has found is a formula or pattern which gives license to her extraordinarily creative imagination to come up with amazing situations around which to build the most heart-warming love stories! That those stories are also paranormal or romantic science fiction makes “HESHER” and other Celeste Raye classics, BASIC READING for both genres. As with all Celeste Raye novels, “HESHER” will delight readers with a chemistry-driven love story built around some planet or culture and the conflicts between those planets or cultures. In the midst of that conflict, two or more of the members of the opposing groups will meet, work together to some end, and although resisting will ultimately like and fall in love with each other. For those who appreciate insta-love/insta-lust, there is always that possibility, but more frequently the attraction is not just chemical. Instead, most frequently the relationships are built over time while working together on a shared goal. ALWAYS character-driven, Raye’s novels entice readers to think objectively with open minds to develop first acceptance then the more subjective “rooting for the loving outcome”. Her writing is masterful in that way, and flows so easily, the reader can get lost in the conflicts, relationships and the new cultural and planetary considerations also written into every novel. Add to that, a succession of short series so that readers can keep track of some of their best-loved characters, and YES, author Celeste Raye has the most amazing and compelling formula for success! “HESHER”, Raye’s latest offering in the Talonian Warriors series is one of her best. This reader/reviewer was able to escape through the telling of Hesher’s and Lydia’s stories. I love tales that portray a strong woman, and Lydia, as a Human female star-ship captain, personified female strength on so many levels. While I was given an ARC copy of “HESHER” to prepare this honest, voluntary review, I plan to place it in my FAVORITES collection to be read again and again. After all, cell phones were considered science fiction 50 years ago . . . . Buy your copy of “HESHER”, today! Happy pages! 😉
