Cozen

Rate this book
coz-en (kuz-uhn) verb 1. trick or deceive. • obtain by deception. She was named most appropriately. Cozen Taylor has more than earned her place as one of North America’s most successful thieves. Her name is whispered amongst criminal elite as the go-to thief when someone needs a heist. She has never failed. A call from the Miami-based Astor family could change all that with a job that seems almost impossible to complete. The mark should be simple—a stolen family heirloom, the man who has kept it hidden for over twenty years, and six months to return the piece to its rightful owners. Nothing is ever that easy. Three-hundred million for a successful heist. No smart thief would turn the offer down. Cozen didn’t expect a complication like him to put a kink in her plans, though. Sargon Makri—tall, dark, gorgeous, and entirely dangerous. For her life, her heart, and for the success of the heist. The last thing Cozen needs to be thinking about is Sargon, and how she can get him into her bed … especially when he just happens to be her mark’s bodyguard. The thrill of the job has never been more addicting to Cozen, and she will risk everything to make the heist a success. But at what cost? *** From author Bethany-Kris comes a whole new world. A North American network full of criminals battling to stay on top, and painting the streets red in war as they dabble in the game of betrayal. Malicious, cunning, forbidden, and violent—welcome to The Empires and Badlands.

A professional heister on assignment only has one target.

She was the spider. Jett was the fly.
Cozen would keep spinning her web, and hoped it would catch him.

What twenty-five year-old Cozen Taylor doesn’t count on is Sargon Makri’s magnetic pull.

▣ This is a standalone book with lots of steam and a tiny bit of action. I loved the pacing and the never-saw-that-coming twist, but the dual POVs seemed too much alike in voice at times, and I would’ve loved more depth regarding the criminal underground for which Cozen and Zander Everston was a part of. Overall, this was an okay read.

I think this will be the simplest review I’ve ever written for a book I’ve read by Bethany-Kris. If you haven’t read anything of hers before, this is a perfect example of her exemplary prose and a wise choice to get your feet wet with. And if you’re a mega fan like me, you’ll love how seemingly flawless her segue from mafia romance to plain old romantic suspense is.

Cozen is a thief looking for her last job and it happens to land in her lap at just the right time. Her skills are highly sought after because she doesn’t just steal what you’re looking for. There’s no smash-and-grab. She has the unique ability to insert herself into her target’s life, identify the mark, take the mark, and exit without anyone being the wiser. Perfect. And her tactics should have worked just as effortlessly as ever before except for one snag - an irresistible man named Sargon. While trying to seduce her target, she was also seducing him, and from first sight, she was seduced by him. And it was sexy, incredibly hot, and absolutely beautiful.

I loved so much about this story and I wish it didn’t have to end. I loved Sargon’s frustration over Cozen’s pretense. I loved how Cozen couldn’t help herself when it came to Sargon. And I loved the twists and turns that this author fed me right up until the end. I admit that I was pleasantly surprised that I was intentionally left in the dark about so much and yet I felt that the surprises only validated how much I loved these characters.

Cozen is an action-packed suspense romance centered around a dangerous heist. Cozen Taylor has been hired by the wealthy Astor family to steal back a family heirloom. Cozen has been a thief for years and has never had a problem infiltrating a situation and getting what she wants in order to get the job done. While she tries to seduce a dangerous man in order to get the Astor's property back she is overcome with a need for her victim's bodyguard Sargon Makri. Sargon is instantly drawn to Cozen and as the time is ticking by the stakes are high for Cozen to get what she needs and find the courage to stay away from Sargon. Despite her best efforts, Cozen and Sargon can't keep their hands off of each other. Does Cozen have what it takes to fulfill her job for the Astors and be able to keep the man of her dreams?

“I think you made me fall in love with you.”
Overall, Cozen is a passionately charged story with complex characters and a very twisted plot. There were many twists and turns and with a huge surprise at the end, this read certainly kept me on the edge of my seat the entire read. Bethany-Kris has quickly become one of my go-to authors when I am in the mood for some great action and suspense (and of course smoking hot steam). I highly recommend Cozen to anyone who enjoys a spunky heroine paired with one hot alpha male. The connection between the two was off the charts and I thoroughly enjoyed spending time in their world!

color me intrigued...

And I ve been surprised once again...

Bethany-Kris brought a new meaning to the word romantic suspense as she delivered an intricatingly puzzled plotline with continuous intensity of thrilling expectation of what's to come next.

And especially the ending, that actually surprised me the most but one other thing left me a bit displeased is the way with a certain situation in the plot was handled and pretty much just left hanging there...for readers to either pick up on it and dwell on the various possiblities of a closure of some kind, or just move on and leave it at that...

Anyway, I loved this quite unusual venture Bethany took with this story of Cosen, a young but very productive and infamous thief...and the heist of a lifetime...that would be the last she pulled...but what we encounter is a twist of emotional, thrilling vertigo of action and suspense where we think we see the true ways of work in progress, when in fact, we have been misled and fooled by by the acts of deception, from the very beginning.

FOR GOODREADS
ARC
It's hard to find a book written by Bethany-Kris that I haven't enjoyed reading.I'm not ashamed to say that I've devoured every book written by this talented author. I was fortunate enough to have beta read this book. With no synopsis to go with, only the title...it's suffice to say, I was a ball of excitement and fear.

Cozen was and still is a page turner. From the very first chapter, this book captures the readers, it takes you on a whirlwind adventure of suspense, intrigue, romance, out of this world chemistry between two characters that is intense and forbidden.

Cozen, the character, is a badass! I loved her fearlessness, her confidence and her subtle ways that creates a typhoon of impact.
Honestly speaking,I was throughly satisfied with the book but the piece de la resistance was the ending. I literally screamed when I read the end!

Without giving much away, I must insist you give this book a try!Highly recommend it!

It's no secret I absolutely adore anything Bethany Kris writes, and when a new book hits my kindle I drop everything to inhale her newest work. I was super excited for Cozen, a break away from her mafia families (which have become some of my favourite books ever) and an intro into the world of the Astors.

Whilst I loved the little I got to know of Cozen and Sargon, I felt that there was a lot held back due in the main to the big plot twist very late on in the book. Both characters intrigued me greatly and I really wanted to know what made them into the people they are now - this is one book where a few flashbacks would have been so appreciated. Perhaps if that twist at 91% had come earlier there would have been more opportunity to give us more detail on the characters, their pasts and all the whys and wherefores. I'm a details whore and I needed them to feel I was getting the full story. For the first time in a long, long time I felt as though I knew as little of the characters at the end of the book as I did when I started it.

Cozen is not my first book by BK, nor my fifteenth, or twentieth, or even twenty-fifth—you get where I'm going with this. So after reading so many books by her, it's safe to say that I've come to expect certain things from her. It's never a question of whether or not I'm going to love a book she's written—I always go in expecting to love it—but whether or not she cane still surprise me.

Whether the book will stand out in a sea of amazing books she's written already.

I can say, without a doubt, that Cozen is unlike anything Bethany-Kris has written before. The attention to detail is spot on, the way she so effortlessly weaves a tale is great, and how she can even leave ME guessing (considering I can usually guess where a book is going during the first chapter, hazards of the job, I'm afraid) is just miraculous at this point.

Cozen is not your traditional love story. Nor is it your traditional heist story. It takes the best elements of both and merges them together until the result is unlike anything you could have ever imagined.

And trust me, you won't see the ending coming. You really won't.

While Cozen introduces an entirely new world and brand new faces, (Looking at you Fourth), everyone involves feels as if you know them. As if they're old friends. They make you want to learn more about them. Yo want to see the world through their eyes.

Favorite new addition to Bk's cast of remarkable characters is the matriarch of the Astor family. There's nothing like a strong female lead that makes me want to kick back and read forever, even if that means putting off work for a little while. Pearl Astor is not your average grandmother, nor is she like any head of an organized crime family that I've ever met. She's someone to respect or suffer the consequences, and God help the poor soul that crosses her. It won't be pretty for them. If BK decided to just write a book based on her, I'd be all for it.

But Astor family aside, our two main characters, Sargon (don't call him Sarge) and Cozen are definitely worthy of each other. Seeing their interactions and feeling the tension between them made the story worth while. In occupations like theirs, it's hard to find someone that you just immediately connect with, but these two did.

They just fit.
They were undeniable.

Without giving too much away, I loved this book, this unconventional romance between two people that only BK could write and make absolutely flawless.

Bethany-Kris is one of my fav authors. I will read anything and everything she writes. I've got crushes on many a heroine and serious love for a handful of her heroes...or actually, I should say, my heroes ;) Ha!

She's my Mafia Romance Queen, but hang on a sec... this isn't a mafia story. Cozen is something completely different. Some might say, BK took a chance, straying from her dynamite trademark underworld of La Cosa Nostra, but I beg to differ. This lady can write. Her prose is exquisite, poetic and moving. Her stories not only ensnare you in whatever world she's created, she's sure to always surprise you.

I was beyond giddy when I heard she was writing a heist novel. And let me tell you, hold onto your horses! Cozen is spectacular.

This new world she has created was captivating, high-octane and I loved every word. I couldn't get enough. Unlike anything she has ever written before. I can't even talk about the story because I don't want to spoil one delicious moment of it.

I highly recommend this book. You must read Cozen!!

I am obsessed with Cozen, in fact I've already read it twice. Okay, I really read it twice due to that ending...that ending that I never saw coming! That's right, Bethany-Kris has given us an unpredictable crime romance that's entirely unique. The heroine is an incredibly successful thief, except this heist is proving to be most difficult. Cozen's name is so clever that even those she is swindling do not realize it is she and beyond those in her inner circle, no one is aware of the numerous heists she has pulled off. This job though, it's for the Astors, a family you don't want to be up against and six months may not be enough time to pull it off, especially with a distraction like Sargon around. He's her mark's bodyguard, he's just another part of the job, except he's not, he's what is really filling her mind and her bed.

"All dark, and sinful. Like his eyes. Like his taste. Like him."

Clever, sassy, and beautiful are the words an outside would think of when first meeting Cozen. While she's smiling at them she's also analyzing them, pulling information from them and judging when the most opportune time will be to take from them. She's sneaky and deceitful, wielding her charm and beauty like a weapon, her bank account growing with each heist she pulls off. She's an incredibly interesting character and her perspective is one of my favorites, and I've loved every book and character Bethany-Kris has ever given us. Then there's Sargon, a handsome, equally as clever man who sees everything and never settles in one place too long. He's her marks bodyguard, but his real threat is the power he has over her when it comes to her emotions. These two have epic chemistry, their push and pull affair so lust-driven that it makes them forget what they are each there for.

"She was a siren. Her song sung just for him."

Cozen in a less action packed crime novel from Bethany-Kris and I actually really enjoyed that for once it wasn't all guns and blood, but rather mind games, lying, and sneaking around. We aren't given a lot of background on this underground world of crime and money, but I can sure tell you I am interested in knowing more now. Cozen is just one of many thieves, though she is the only one we meet. The Astor family and their distrustful ways just amped the tension up even higher, making Cozen act out of character and making me sincerely worry that she wouldn't succeed in getting the job done. The crime itself isn't a sizeable one, but it's the nature of the crime that makes this novel suspenseful. Nothing about Cozen is a traditional crime or romance novel and that made it even more engaging for me. I loved the fresh story and of course, I loved that it is a Bethany-Kris novel. Cozen is a standalone and comes highly recommended from me!

5 “Eye Opening” Stars

A thief - a heist -and Bethany-Kris’s mind and words. A departure from the Mafia world but such a pleasant surprise.

Cozen, a female thief, is a very methodical thief. She gets the job done while no one ever knowing what she’s done. So when the Astor family needs a job done quietly, Cozen is asked. A job to end all jobs until Sargon Makri comes between her and the job. A job that involves another man, Jett Griffin, his bodyguard Sargon, and the ruby ring that he has that belongs to the family who hired Cozen. An interesting dynamic in play between Cozen and Sargon, Cozen and Jett and Sargon and his boss Jett.

Cozen and Sargon have a cat and mouse relationship. And boy is it off the chart hot. Their chemistry is undeniable but Cozen is working and working does not involves relationships with men outside of her mark. But their banter, their intensity and the dangerous game they are playing with one another is addicting. This triangle..... Cozen, Jett and Sargon, is not a true triangle. While the three are involved with one another, the only meaningful connection is Cozen and Sargon.

I loved the story and I loved the ending, it was nothing like I was expecting. Who knew a story about a thief could be so freaking hot, sassy and wickedly diabolical.....Cozen is a must read!!!

Cozen by Bethany-Kris–

GENRE: Dark Romance/Suspense
NARRATION: Narrative
BOOK DETAILS: Standalone in The Empires and Badlands Series

THE STORY:
As the most successful and discreet thief in North America Cozen is hired to steal back a family jewel that was taken from the Astor family. The man that holds this jewel is a wealthy and powerful man in the criminal world, her mission is dangerous, and she must slowly and cleverly infiltrate herself into the marks life.

Sargon works security detail for Cozens mark He is hired to watch her every move but quickly becomes a distraction for Cozen and when things become unprofessional Cozen must take extra risks to make her heist successful but is she willing to risk her heart.?

MY THOUGHTS:

Bethany-Kris sure knows how to build the suspense and anticipation in a story! I love her unique characters and tension filled storyline.

Cozen and Sargon's connection is epic, their chemistry off the charts and add a hint of danger to the mix and you have yourself one hot forbidden love affair.

I like that the heroine in this story is a strong, independent character and loved that Cozen was the anti-heroine as such.

Sargon is dark and suspenseful, I loved how protective he become with Cozen even though she could more than hold her own.

I did not see the twist coming in the end of the book and it is one hell of an ending!

Cool heroine, liked her a lot.
I read till about 35% and came back to reviews, I wanted to know the twist! My fault, I looked up in the epilogue and it shocked me. Nothing spoke for such turn of events. I felt somehow cheated. I flove a goos twist, but this one was too weird and without much explanation.
So, I won't rate it. Otherwise solid 4 stars!

This is the type of story that once you finish reading you’ll find yourself wanting to reread it again. And when a book does that then you know you’ve a pretty great book!

Bethany-Kris stepped outside of her usual Mafia genre and gave us something different yet familiar; it still had her flare and eloquent touch. However, it was set in a different world with a whole different set of characters that you will feel very drawn to.

I went into Cozen pretty confident that I’d really enjoy it. Why?

1. The fact that it’s a HEIST novel : I absolutely love the heist theme which fueled my excitement.
2. It’s a Bethany-Kris book – She knows how to write a hell of a story with compelling characters so yes I knew hands down I’d really enjoy this.

The title was so fitting for this book. Not only is Cozen the main character but the meaning of it is pretty much the premise of this book. Cozen Taylor is a thief. She gets a thrill out of doing these heist. She was hired by the infamous Astors to do a job to steal a family heirloom from a guy that the Astors really hate. Cozen was sly, sneaky and clever. She’s someone you don’t see coming.

Unless she wants to be seen.

And she was definitely seen, by the Mark and by the Mark's bodyguard: Sargon Makri. He's somewhat of a mystery with a laid back vibe. These two had chemistry from the get go. But throughout the entirety of the novel you're terrified they’ll get caught or something will happen. At one point I was scared about the job. She can't afford to mess up this job not that she ever has but Sargon is too tempting.............. Let's just say you're on edge but you're also captivated by their chemistry.

Also, although the focus of the book wasn't directly on the Astors, they stole the scenes they were in. They have an air of authority about them and they carry a powerful vibe that I'm sure we've only seen a glimpse of. But the way it's described and the way we're introduced to the characters makes you WANT to get to know them. You can just feel how powerful these characters are.

I loved the thrill I got while reading Cozen and I also loved the way romance infiltrated the story as well. It’s a classic Bethany Kris talent which she always masters. I don't want to say any thing else about the book but the basics because you're really going to want to experience this book without any spoilers. I'm excited to dive further into this new world Bethany Kris has given us.

The Good:
1. The heroine being a master thief made her a standout in romancelandia. She is a beautiful chameleon able to transform for every scenario.

2. The sex scenes are super hot.

3. The side characters are exceptional. Though this a standalone, I'm very interested to see many of them in a spinoff.

The Bad:
1. I never connected with the male lead. He never made sense to me, in relation to the caper the heroine was trying to pull off. I liked the foil more than him.

2. The ending filled in a lot of plot holes, but not all.

Final Thoughts:
I liked, but didn't love this. It was more than okay, but not up to the level this writer usually takes me.

This is my first time listening to the narrator Connor Goff and he did a great job on this story. The plot was set up in a very intriguing manner. It had hints of a romance but it was a mystery and suspense first story.

Cozen Taylor was a renowned thief because she was basically invisible. She delivers what she promised and no one she interacted with on the heist remembered anything about her afterwards. As Cozen was considering retiring, the Astor family came with an offer that was so golden that Cozen couldn’t refuse. The job was to recover a family heirloom currently in the hands of Jett Griffin, but the Astor family wanted it back. Unfortunately for Cozen, Sargon Makri, the bodyguard to her new mark was excellent at his job as well. While getting close to Jett, Cozen was also getting close to his bodyguard Sargon and the latter one was the real deal.

Each chapter revealed a layer of the story and I found it to be a suspenseful romance. The author spent time setting up the mystery and the plot twist, but unfortunately it made the pacing slow. Cozen and Sargo’s interactions were this big game of cat and mouse and the sex scenes were quite spicy. I would have liked more romance (not necessarily sex) in this story as well. In addition, I wish more time was spent developing the back story of the main character because it didn’t feel connect to the characters. This is a book that I would have benefitted more from listening to the last hour FIRST because my understanding and engagement would have been better.

You know there is always a time when you think that nothing can really surprise you. When you are sure that you've read everything and all is just the same. Of course, you've felt it before. I had a similar feeling but I always start a new book in hope that this one would be IT. The one that would break you book lump and make you feel again. And Cozen REALLY BECAME IT!!!

This book is so amazing that it's hard for me to find the right words to describe my feelings. With every new chapter, with every new page I fell more and more in love with Cozen and Sargon. Their journey, their adventure, their banter was out of this world fantastic! It was marvelous.

Cozen is not your typical heist story ( as you can think from the title) nor is it your typical romance story. It is a perfect mixture of the best. It's so unique that in my opinion it should have its own category.

I loved this book and the ending....mmm.... You must read it to understand what I'm talking about. Being a unique story and one written by Bethany-Kris its a must one-click read for everyone.

With an “It Takes a Thief” theme, Bethany-Kris whisks us away into the life, love, and world of Cozen, a female professional thief who just can’t seem to say no to just one more meticulously planned, adrenaline rushing heist, especially when the request comes from the rich as Croesus, all powerful, notorious Astor clan. The payout is huge but the payback if she fails is even more daunting. Yeah, failure isn’t an option. She’ll be getting cozy with the fishes wearing cement shoes, if you know what I mean. The word deadline is definitely taking on a whole new meaning for her, with special emphasis on the "dead" part, folks.

Sargon, the hero, simply can’t sit still long enough to keep a long time job. His past is quite similar to Cozen in several regards. When their paths seem to cross for the very first time, insta-lust is definitely in the air, which results in some very graphic smexy scenes filled with lots of lusty language. Cozen having to charm and entrench herself into the affection and radar of a criminal businessman to get access to what the Astors want naturally becomes a big complication for them.

If I had known beforehand the big reveal near the conclusion, I would have definitely read more closely for subtle clues all along. As it was, I was left reeling at the end somewhat dazed, delighted but confused, and definitely shocked/completely taken off guard. I do so love it when an author throws the unexpected my way.

There were a couple of what I would tag as possible plot holes. For example, if I remember correctly, Sargon didn’t seem to have a clue what Cozen was after or up to for a very long time. He also wanted to really get to know her. Considering what we learn much later, I don’t fully understand how that was possible.

Just prepare yourself for a big twist that wraps things up unexpected. I’m not quite sure how I felt about what happened to the man being played by Cozen. I have a feeling it will make it harder for this main couple to disappear without a trace and not appear culpable. Maybe it’s because I have a soft spot for mafioso type characters, but I’m thinking his family is going to connect the dots and seek painful retribution in the very near future.

Regardless, I'm glad this main couple finally get to be a couple without someone standing in their way.

P.S.: If you need a character face to plug into your mind for Sargon, I couldn't help but picture Naveen Andrews (Sayid from the tv series "Lost").

Romance Safety Gang:

Title: Cozen, Author: Bethany-Kris, Pages: 267, stand-alone, VERY graphically smexy with dirty/lusty language, professional thief heroine, for hire security guard for the criminally rich, a big reveal I never saw coming, some violence, OM drama, no OW drama. Rating: 3.5 stars

STORY
The Astor family hires Cozen to perform a heist to steal a Ruby ring, an Astor family heirloom. Cozen’s methods always include cozying up to her male victims, yet she doesn’t expect for sparks to fly when she meets her target’s bodyguard, Sargon.

While listening to the first 99% of this book, I assumed I was listening to an insta-love story. As with most of those, I struggled to connect to the characters & didn’t feel emotionally invested in them. However, the last 1% of this book revealed that nothing was what it seemed! The first 99% was 3-star material, yet that last 1% was 5!! When all is revealed in the end, it made me want to go back to earlier parts where I had made incorrect assumptions (as the author obviously wanted me to do). A lot of this book is really creative and unique, yet some aspects of the storyline don’t add up and don’t match with what we learn in the end. Several aspects don’t make sense or were too unrealistic in my opinion. I’m a very tough critic though!!! Overall, this book is very well written, it just didn’t do much emotionally for me until those last few pages!

PERFORMANCE
I listened to the audiobook narrated by Connor Goff. Aside from mispronouncing REGALE, his performance was flawless! I wasn’t even disappointed that this wasn’t a dual narration since he did such a convincing job reading for the female and male portions. He is a phenomenal actor and someone I will definitely listen more of in the future.

Oh what a tangled web we weave........

I got pulled right into this wonderfully spun web and enjoyed every minute of it.

Cozen is one of the best thieves around she disappears once the job is done like she never existed.

One last job, One last thrill, One last rush....

One person she never saw coming Sargon Makri with all his allure and mystery surrounding him. Sargon is even more mysterious than Cozen. A man loyal to no one.

Will Cozen get the job done or will her new distraction make her lose focus, she has got a lot at stake....her reputation or maybe even her life.

I stepped into this new world and went along for the ride and the ending ohhh the ending I will not say anymore.

Bethany-Kris has done it again this book has just right amount of everything I was looking for. She never disappoints. I can wait to take the next journey into the Badlands!!!!

This was a really fun book to read! Cozen was a female master thief, with a spotless record of getting in, getting out and never being caught...never even under suspicion. This last job though is the toughest she's ever had to do. The suspense and the romance are perfect thru this. I absolutely fell in love with Sargon...he was SO hot, so intense. The cat and mouse game thru this book was so entertaining! I loved the ending, it was perfect! I can't wait to see what this author has in store for us next.

I love Bethany-Kris' books and this is no exception!!! Cozen and Sargon's story truly captivated me and how everything unfolded. The narration was perfect and I would definitely listen to this audio book again. Cozen by Bethany-Kris is an EPIC mafia romance and will join the ranks of the BIBLIO-ARISTOCRACY!!!

Wow! im really amazed by this book.. so before anything, i pretty much went into this book blind so i did not know about the twist at all! the last book i read with a similar "thief" themed book was wicked intentions by JT Geissinger. both books were written perfectly. for the twist part, i enjoyed both Cozen and Sargon's character, esp Cozen haha! despite the twist, its still 5++ stars for me and i highly recommend it to anyone!

Cozen is in a world and class of her own!

When Bethany-Kris writes, I read. It’s as simple as that. From her newsletters, outtakes or Ask Me Anything (AMA) posts, she always has me craving for more. Cozen was just what I anticipated, feeding my need for a story steeped in romantic suspense. The bonus was it is the introduction into a new world of organised crime that has swept me up with the possibilities of what’s ahead.

Cozen was everything I hoped for in a heroine. Each step she took was well considered and thought out. Always on her game, until she became distracted by the man who made her feel way more than she should. The attraction between Cozen and Sargon was so compelling neither of them could resist adding to the danger of being caught.

Sargon took liberties no employee should. He was his boss’ eyes and ears when it came to Cozen. He took taking care of Cozen above and beyond what was expected of him. Flirting dangerously with the trust he had been afforded, I held my breath in anticipation fearing he would take one too many risks.

Danger was constantly lingering in the air, threatening to blow the job to smithereens. Patience was the key to Cozen’s success and she insisted it be adhered to at all times. I, along with the Astors, wondered when she would get started. She was in no rush and it meant there was a slow introduction to the story. Then around a quarter of the way into the book it had eased into a page turning story I couldn’t put down. It coincided with the moment the flirting was thrown out the door and the steamy scenes broke through.

Before I knew it, the story was coming to the end... and what an ending it was! The details revealed a plot twist that came out of the blue to me. It gave the story another boost to what I considered a good entertaining tale. Cozen’s story is full of danger and thrills played out in a seductive game of winner takes all. A standalone book that opens the door to a new world immersed in organised crime you won’t be able to resist!

Well, I'm surprised with this book!
The synopsis definitely drew me in

I loved the twist at the end! Just when you thought everything was within your fingertips, then you realised there were more information to be uncovered.

I have a thing for spy stories or an association that trains people to do dirty jobs. There are just loads of action packed plots! For this, the stealing portion was pretty mild and for someone to do something for such a long while without getting caught is really out of the world.

On the whole, a more romance dominated book between a feisty thief and domineering man.

Oh, you dont know how I love the BK's writing, and maybe I expected certain things since I read I lot of her books. But believe me when I tell you that Cozen is totally unexpected or maybe not if you pay attention to every detail or maybe I'm wrong...

BK offers us a new world, new characters, a totally different plot. It was refreshing, fun and sexy as hell.
The steamy scenes were burning through the pages. The plot itself keeps you stuck to reading more and more, the characters keep your interest and you simply fall in love with the writing all over again.

I honestly can't wait to read more of the Astors. I re-read this book two times already!

Higly Recommended!

*ARC received from author, in exchange for an honest review*

You'll have to forgive any spelling mistakes or babbling as I am still in shock from the ending of this book.
I loved this book. I loved this new world. I loved how fierce and smart Cozen was. How sexy and in control Sargon was...well in control of everything except when it came to Cozen. Their chemistry was scorching and their sex scenes were even hotter.
The suspense and surprises in this book had me on the edge of my seat, heart hammering. Would Cozen complete the job? Could she do it in time? Would she be discovered and if she was, what would be the cost? Who was Sargon truly loyal to and what part would he play in the end? I couldn't wait to get to the next page and find out the answers. And though I thought I was putting the puzzle together piece by piece, the author SHOCKED the hell out of me in the end and I loveddddd it. I was left with my mouth hanging open.
I cannot wait to read more books from this new world.
