When Lucas inherits his fathers company it comes with a few things he must do in order to keep it and not lose it all. His father wants him to purchase a party planning company within a short period of time. Lucas doesn’t understand why until he sees his childhood best friend and the love of his life once again and the pieces start coming together slowly.
Scarlet and her best friend and business partner are in high demand as well known party planners but as fast as the business took off it started to fade away. They decide to have a meeting with a company that has made them an offer to buy them out. Only she wasn’t expecting to see the man that was once her childhood best friend, love of her life and the father of her son walking into her office.
Lucas is determined to try and fix things with Scarlet while she tries to keep the biggest secret still from Lucas. The more time they spend together the more they realize how much they still love each other but will that change once Lucas finds out what she has kept from him for the last 5 years or will it bring them even closer together??
This is a short read with Scarlet and Lucas POV’s. Only thing I would have liked more in this story would be more of why Lucas did what he did to Scarlet. Other than that I absolutely loved this story. Second chances are possible and this is a story of just that. I’m looking forward to more stories by Ellen Hutton in the near future.

The book is a great read, if you don't have much or any expectations.
The story is summarised. Scarlet and Lucas had a past, obviously he did something and she got pregnant after he had left her.
The pace was okay at the start, but worsened as the story progressed. Starting from the moment he finds out about his child, everything was rushed. One page: Typical argument about her keeping their child a secret. Next, he realises it is all his fault. Next, she is angry, talk with her best, gay friend that child deserves father, okay, forgiven, rush into fully integrating him into child's life without proper talk about anything.
This is what bothered me the most, the lack of communication and growth. They never talked about what happened or their relationship. They and the story, never built on that, just straight moved on. This had never been clearer by the fact that . It just shows that of course they are getting back together, because rather than the fact that she chooses to forgive him.
Also, maybe it is random, but why is it called Bad Boy Mafia romance!? He neither a bad boy nor in a mafia
Scarlet and Lucas were friends since they were little then they were best friends growing up before they fell in love. At the age of 19 they decided to get married. Outside forces mainly his parents talked him out of marrying her and leaving. Scarlet waited 10 hours at the church before her parents took her home. Now 5 years later, her family has disowned her all but her younger sister. She co owns her own party planning business that is highly successful. When contacted that someone wanted to buy the business she was eager to sell until that person turned out to be Lucas. When the see each other all the feeling and chemistry came rushing back. Scarlet tried to fight it and Lucas could only feel what a mistake he made leaving her. What will happen between the two of them. Will Scarlet be able to get over all the hurt he caused her. What will Lucas do when he learns of something and he thinks she had purposely kept it from him. This is a great book that is well written. I read it in a couple hours I couldn't put it down. It will make you frustrated and even brought tears to my eyes a few times. I voluntarily reviewed an ARC of this book.
I was given this ARC for my honest review and have to say, I think this is the best book Ellen Hutton has written to date. Lucas and Scarlett grew up together as childhood friends. At 19, Lucas allowed his wealthy parents to influence his decision where Scarlett was concerned and walked away from the only woman he ever loved. Scarlett being heartbroken and pregnant eventually learned to live a life that included her going to college and eventually having a son. Now she's co-owner of a party planning business that has grown into a very lucrative business and he can only inherit his father's company if he can purchase it from her. So many secrets and emotions come out of this. How will it end? You won't be disappointed in this HEA where personalities and imagination merge into a storyline that will carry you away.

This was my first book read by this author and I was definitely impressed. I fell in love with the characters and their story. Lucas and Scarlet were two people with history. He broke her heart. Neither has forgotten the other. But what happens 5 years later when they see each other? Can she forgive him for leaving her? I love a good second chance romance and this definitely was one. Scarlet is a strong woman who doesn't need a man to support her and her family and I love that about her. She's not one to just fall back into Lucas's arms just because he's there. And Lucas realizes how dumb he was, yes they were young, but it shouldn't have happened. He missed out on a lot of important milestones. I'm excited to read more of Ellen's books and definitely recommend this one ❤❤
I received an advanced copy this book as an arc. I loved the story and couldn’t stop reading it. It was a quick read for me from beginning to end. In the beginning we are introduced to Scarlett, a young, beautiful, strong, and successful single mother running her own party planning business. As fate would have it, she runs into Lucas, the former love of her life and father of her son, with a date at a party her business planned. Little do they know that this chance meeting would bring them on collision course to unraveling the secrets that had torn their lives apart 5 years earlier. Once they’re secrets are out, can they find it within themselves to forgive each other and his family to build the life they should have had all along or will their resentments keep them apart again?
A awesome well written second chance romance with great characters. Scarlett, a young, beautiful, strong, and successful single mother running her own party planning business. Lucas a former lover left her hanging without a word, because he let his wealthy family influence him. She has a party planning business she is trying to sell, come to find out its his company that is trying to buy it, for him to inherit his father's company. The love and connection is still there but she wants him to hurt like her and he determined to win her back not knowing it's his son she is raising. Can they get past all the hurt, anger, betrayal, mistrust and submit to their still existing feelings and chemistry. I voluntarily reviewed this standalone ARC. Definitely a must have.
I received this book as an arc and this is my volunteered review. Scarlet and Lucas were ripped apart as teens only to find each other 5 yrs later. He has to buy her company to inherit his father's but her secret she must at all cost keep from him. After he tried to win her round they sleep together which leaves scarlet more confused and hurt. After discovering her secret the two work together and finally move forward. It's a great short read sad because of a love from apart but happy I in the end.
They used to love each other and was supposed to live together forever. But...when Scarlet is waiting for Lucas at the chapel, he never come. A few years later they meet again, when Lucas is going to buy a company that Scarlet owns... Then the story starts again. This is my first book by Ellen Hutton. She writes in a way that made me feel everything that all the characters feel. All the emotions they feel, I feel. I really liked this story and the way the characters are described. I will continue to read more of this authors books.
It was a quick & nice read but I needed more background information on the characters. Also the typo errors for example scarlet calling her sister by another name, I had to stop and go back to make sure that I didn’t miss a new character but it was actually the same character with a different name.
This is a captivating second chance romance. The storyline is well-written, with heartache, meddling parents, passion, romance and a HEA. The main characters are relatable and have wonderful chemistry. This is a quick and easy read that will keep the reader engaged. I voluntarily read an ARC and this is my honest review.
I felt like there should have been more to the story. He finds out he has a son at 75% of the book and meets him at 90% then the book is over. It would have been nice if all three spent more time together to get to know each other. It ended fine but I wish there was more in between. Side note, how is this a bad boy mafia romance? Am I missing the mafia part of the story?
I received an Advanced Readers Copy of this book via Bookfunnel and am voluntarily leaving a review. I loved this book. It was well written, detailed and explained everything that had happened between Scarlet and Lucas. I felt the ending was rushed and I would have liked it more if it had been expanded and had an epilogue. Other than that it was a good read.
[1.5 stars] book was okay however it was too short & fast-paced when it could have been develop into a much more interesting book. felt cheated as this story was about 35% of the whole book, the rest are other stories. and i dont understand the "mafia" word in the phrase "a bad boy mafia romance". both hero & heroine are not related to mafia.
A mistake was made by the author in failing to proofread her book starting with the cover. Mistake - A Bad Boy Mafia Romance. That was the first Mistake! The book was so rushed toward the end when more errors happened in regards to her sister’s name. If the author hopes to encourage more readers, she needs to get a proofreader and do her book justice.
This book started out ok but then the writing errors were so bad, at more than one time she kept calling her sister with a different name. The ending was bad also. Just wanted to know one thing did he even show up at the end lol.
It wasn't a great book but the plot was a good one
The story was getting good but ended abruptly. The characters emotions were not expressed on both sides. I can not give a more accurate review without outing the story. But it was well written overall.
3,5 stars. Did I read the right book? I missed the mafia element...? Aside from the missing mafia element, it was a good story, well written and with enough originality to keep a story in this trope (secret baby second chance) interesting.
