Unspoken

Rate this book
Aiden Dwyer, a Queens construction worker, doesn't know a salad fork from a dessert fork, unlike his best friend from college, Sebastian Parker, a privileged son from a blue-blooded Manhattan family who was born with a silver spoon in his mouth.

Seb's always got Aiden's back. The same can't be said for Seb's little sister, Bea, who finds pleasure in mocking Aiden for his lack of social standing.

A permanent fixture in New York City gossip columns, Beatrice (Bea) Parker is known as "The Park Avenue Princess." But nobody knows that the pillar of young Manhattan society has an alter-ego on an online dating site for "discreet singles."

Lying dormant under all of their jokes and teasing is Aiden and Bea's unrequited desire for each other. When he discovers Bea's greatest secret, Aiden risks his friendship with Sebastian to fulfill her fantasies and make his hunger for her a reality.

Warning: This epistolary novel contains flirtatious banter, double entendres, interfering parents, a heroine who leads a secret life, and a hero who could have everything he ever wanted if he plays his cards right.

Unspoken is Part 1 in a two-part series. I love falling for your brothers best friend and thought the author does a good job drawing the reader into the book. I liked the beginning chapters and thought the characters were on the right path for a HEA. Unfortunately with secret fiance's and fantasies hotter than reality the book failed to deliver.

Aiden is Bea 's brothers best friend. They are from two different world's and they keep reminding themselves that they live in different zip codes. Despite their constant bickering with each other, they realized that they can't stay away from the other.
I liked their early relationship but they were brought together under false pretenses.

I had a few issues with Bea. She was in her mid-twenties but I thought she acted immature for her age. She surrounded her days with fundraisers and philanthropic projects. She was just a little to spoiled for me. Perhaps this is why her parents felt the need to control her and she had a difficult time facing Aiden with her feelings.

Aiden was sweet but I was hoping for more from him. He had a full ride to to an Ivy league school but I'm not sure what he did with his education. I understand the housing market is tough but he has his own business. I think he could have found a place of his own.

There is minimal drama throughout the book and was hoping for more of a storyline. We're given a little drama at the end and are left with a HEA. Seeing that this has another book was a little odd as it seemed pretty complete for me

Unspoken by Sofia Tate is book One in The Prose Series. This is the story of Aiden Dwyer and Beatrice 'Bea' Parker.
Aiden in Bea's brother best friend and former college buddy. Aiden has always found Bea hard to resist but with her attitude and being the sister of his best friend has resist temptation. But then he learns of her little secret and he goes forward to act on his feelings.
Bea is a popular with the gossip columns and even has a nickname "The Park Avenue Princess." which leaves it hard to find a man because she doesn't know if they really like or not. So she secretly does a online dating profile to try to filter out the false dates.
Aiden and Bea are so separate in backgrounds but love finds a way to find command ground.
I enjoyed reading their story and finding out how things would come to pass with their relationship.

Unspoken is Part 1 in a two-part series by Sofia Tate. Unspoken is an exceptional story of forbidden love AND enemies to lovers. Bea is being forced to marry someone she doesn’t love to save the family’s business and fortune and Aiden can’t stand-by and watch the woman he loves leave him for good so he takes the chance to fight for their forbidden love. Bea isn’t the society princess that she seems. She has all these constraints being forced on her and the only time she feels like herself is when she is with Aiden but can she truly get involved with him, a construction worker from Queens? There is a lot of twists and turns in this story that will have you on the edge of your seat—does Bea make the right choice, will Aiden fight for their love, what happens when they find out who they are on PROSE… trust me this is a good forbidden lovers read to get engrossed in. This is part of a 3 part series --cannot wait for book 2.

When you have such high hopes for a book. You don’t realize how disappointed you are when that book doesn’t meet your expectations. Until after the book has been completed.

This was a very fast read for me. I was able to finish it within a day. I started when I woke up and didn’t put the book down until after lunch. The relationship between Buzzy and Full Ride is something I used to dream of as a kid. But I felt this book barely touched the surface of what their relationship would be. The ‘fun’ scenes were mostly written as if they were dreams instead of reality. As hot as they were I would have liked to see a portion of those dreams played out in the ‘real world’. I slowly lost the connection I had with the characters as the book went on.

This started off as a great read for me and slowly went downhill. I felt as if this was more of a novella rather than a full length novel. The writing was good, I just felt if needed that little bit of oomph to get it to great. - By Vanessa

I’m excited that this is book one in the Prose series. I need more sizzling goodness. Sofia Tate delivers a sweet and deliciously steamy story that left me wanting more.

Aiden and Bea love to annoy each other. Their constant exchange of sarcastic and snarky comments masks years of burying their true feelings. She’s his best friend’s little sister and completely out of his league, but that doesn’t stop Aiden from wanting and pursuing her. When he learns she’s on the Prose online dating site, he joins anonymously in order to learn about the real Bea and convince her that they should be together.

This story was so great! It was like getting two books in one. On the one hand you have the traditional contemporary romance of forbidden love and on the other you have the Good Girl and Sir aspect of the story which was freaking hot! Sofia Tate manages a fantastic balance of sweet romance and dirty, steamy fantasy. The weaving of these two storylines was damn near flawless and made for a mouthwatering read. I’m now so excited for the next book in the series.

This is the first book I've read by Sofia Tate, and is the first book in a trilogy. This was a nice, hot, steamy, good book. I really liked Aiden and Bea, and enjoyed seeing them go from frenemies to lovers. I really liked their nicknames for each other too. Another enjoyable aspect was Bea's best friend, who is very supportive. Bea's brother was also very interesting and I'm looking forward to reading his book. All in all this was very enjoyable, and I can't wait to read the next book in the trilogy.

Count on Sofia Tate to go right for the heart. Unspoken is a story of love between friends. Aiden and Bea were years in the making. They just had to get out of their own way and follow their hearts. Can they survive the naysayers and the fear of taking the risk? Anything worth having takes sacrifice and deep emotion. Unspoken proves itself to be everything I've come to expect from a Tate novel. The heartache is real, but the temptation is too great to pass up.

Unspoken by Sofia Tate was a wonderful surprise by this new-to-me author. Aiden works hard and is a good man, but he also knows he is not good enough for Bea Parker, his best-friend’s little sister. Sebastian and his sister, Bea, come from privilege and wealth. How could he ever compete with that, even if he does have a great relationship with Sebastian?

Once Bea became known as “The Park Avenue Princess” and constantly featured in the gossip columns, she never knew if a man wanted her for her or where she came from. She decides to secretly join an online dating site and explore more without prying eyes.

Aiden would never betray his best friend, but Aiden has always wanted Bea. When he discovers her secret, he decides he is the man to fulfill all her desires, in secret. She has no idea the man she is talking to is Aiden. And so the fun begins. Each is able to be honest in their desires and wants and it was so sexy and steamy!

In real life, Bea and Aiden love to go back and forth with their banter and snippy comments while hiding how they truly feel about each other. I loved both characters so much. Aiden was smart, strong and sexy and though he put himself through college, never quite felt he could truly fit in. Bea is beautiful, rich and confident, but there is also another side to her just wanting to be herself. It was great seeing the two sides of these characters as the story continued.

Unspoken by Sofia Tate was truly a fun and sexy read to get lost in. Bea and Aiden were great together and it was so much fun watching them come together. This is the first book in a series, but this has a happy ending and will leave you wanting more!

Both sexy and sweet, Unspoken was like reading two books in one.

Aiden Dwyer is from the wrong side of New York. Born and raised in Queens, his pedigree is entirely wrong for Beatrice Parker, "The Park Avenue Princess". Best friends with Bea's older brother, Sebastian, Aiden has known Bea since she was nothing but an annoying pre-bubesist teenager. Even knowing he can't have her doesn't stop him from wanting her so when he discovers she's on a dating website he joins only to pursue her, anonymously, just so he can make her as crazy about him as he is about her.

Beatrice Parker has never been able to truly be herself. When society labeled her as "The Park Avenue Princess" with that title came the spotlight of responsibility. It didn't take long to realize that men were only interested in her for what her name or stock portfolio could bring. Meeting someone who could meet her true desires would be near impossible. When she created a profile on Prose, it was mostly out of desperation, but also a way to meet someone who could hopefully fulfill her innermost desires. What she never expected was to meet a man whom was so perfectly matched.

What started as a way to get to know one another, anonymously, became so much more. What happens when you meet the one you belong with and they are the one you can't be with?

I loved that the story of Aiden and Beatrice was a typical contemporary story, but when you enter the Prose story of "Good Girl" and "Sir" it was dirty and sexy. This book was oh, so good with that mixture. What made it even better was that when Sofia switched back and forth between the two storylines she didn't make assumptions. For instance, Aiden and Bea had been corresponding in Prose with their dirtiest desires (unbeknownst to Bea that she was talking to Aiden, but still she was thinking about Aiden when she was writing her fantasies out) (Yes, this story is delicious) Back to why I love it-when they finally get together, face to face, it wasn't anything over the top. It was real life, making love, passion filled sex. Sofia kept the deep-dark fantasy contained in Prose. Thank you Sofia for that beautiful distinction!

I have been on a roll, with barely a miss, with new-to-me authors lately. Sofia Tate and Unspoken was on that list and, yet again, I am very happy to find that I have another author to add to my watch list.

Sofia Tate's Unspoken is the first in the Prose series and is the start of the love story of Aiden and Bea. Aiden and Bea know each other through Bea's older brother, Seb who is Aiden's best friend. For years, they have had a friendly war of snark and sarcasm while hiding their true feelings for each other. Aiden takes steps to learn about the real Bea underneath the rich girl façade when he secretly contacts her via her "Prose" account, an online adult site where users tell their deepest fantasies.

Aiden is the boy from the blue collar household who made his way to Princeton, made friends with the blue bloods and while he could hold his own in that world, he never truly felt comfortable there. He is a relatable character who easily fills the book boyfriend role; smart, successful, sexy, and confident. Beatrice is a little more difficult to understand and embrace as the Park Avenue Princess; untouchable and above the masses. That is until you see her "Prose" writing and learn of her inner struggle to go beyond what is expected of her. Then she becomes much more an everywoman, one who wants more but lets parental obligations and social pressures keep her from it.

The combination of the charged chemistry flowing between Aiden and Bea, the blistering hot sexual posts exchanged between them, the machinations of Bea's parents and Aiden's calculated moves to capture Bea's heart makes for a story that moves at a steady, satisfying pace. It allows the reader to sink into the pages and not want to emerge until the happily ever after is reached. Ms. Tate gives a snippet of book 2 which shows the continuation of Aiden and Bea's story but this is no cliffhanger. A nicely complete opening act of a love story that has more to come.

Unspoken puts a really sexy twist on the opposites attract/brother's best friend trope. Aiden is blue-collar, working class from Queens, and Beatrice is an upper crust Park Avenue Princess, bonded by her brother. They've had an antagonistic relationsip for years, even though Aiden was secretly in love with her. After all, Aiden may have gone to Princeton on a full ride scholarship, but he's still below Bea's level on the societal pecking order.

When Aiden sees an opening for Bea to get to know him through the dating website Prose, he takes it... And as they get to know one another through their online personas, matters get complicated when they both finally give into their feelings for one another IRL just as Bea's parents propose an arranged marriage with a family friend in order to save their suffering business.

Things get all kinds of messy as Bea tries to figure out how to juggle all the balls in her life, every day feeling more and more suffocated by the constraints being forced upon her. The only time she feels truly herself is with Aiden.... but can she really get involved with not only her brother's best friend, but a construction worker from Queens?

I loved the internal struggle that Bea goes through, and the sexy stories she and Aiden share through Pose really kick this story up a notch. I found both characters to be likable from the start, and they had some major chemistry.

Unspoken ends on a HFN, and I'm imterested to see where Sofia Tate takes Bea and Aiden in the followup, and then Sebastian's romance with Marisol in #3. This was a great series starter. I received an advanced copy and voluntarily left a review.

Sexual chemistry blazes with Bea & Aiden

WOW! WOW! WOW! What an amazing introduction to this author! Sofia Tate has written a story that is so hot it is blazing with undeniable sexual chemistry. From the minute you first see Aiden Dwyer, a construction worker from Queens, and Beatrice 'Bea' Parker, a 'Park Avenue Princess', together you know that the chemistry between the two is going to burn up the pages.

Aiden, Sebastian Parker's best friend, may be from the wrong side of the tracks, but he is one hot sexy, smart, alpha male. He knows what he wants, but the quandary is how does he get it ... or should I say ...her? Bea, Sebastian's younger sister, is also smart, sexy and extremely feisty, but she's stuck in the world of 'high society' and wants out. She also desires the one man she can never have ... her brother's best friend ... Aiden. Beneath their constant bickering and supposed hatred of each other, lies a love that is slowly and steadily growing ... or is it lust?

Aiden is now ready to claim the woman he loves ... but how? Bea, to save the family business, has been thrown to the wolves and is being forced to marry a man she does not love ... will she do it? But Bea also has a secret, one that Aiden discovers ... will he use this secret to finally win over Bea? Will they have their HEA?

I loved both Bea and Aiden, they were simply made to be together. They are the perfect match. What's even better is Sofia Tate is bringing out a follow-up novel, taking their story even further. then she is giving her reader's Sebastian and Marisol's (Bea's BFF) story. I can't wait.

Definitely a recommended read.

Wow! Talk about a sexually charged story, this one is off the charts.  Sofia Tate knows how to write and when it comes to sex fantasies she does it right.  Christian and Ana have NOTHING on Bea and Aiden!  Unspoken is an exceptional story of forbidden love AND enemies to lovers.  It was exciting and hot and worth every word written.  This is the first in the Prose series and continues withUnbroken.  If you’re ready for a 5-star read, then get Unspoken by Sofia Tate.

Aiden knows that he will never be in the same social class as his best-friend Sebastian, and he’s ok with that.  What Aiden is not ok with is being in love with Bea, Sebastian’s younger sister.  She is all about charity functions and being seen on the right side of town in the right clothes.  Bea and Aiden have fought back and forth for years keeping their feelings hidden from themselves and everyone else.  Now Bea is being forced to marry someone she doesn’t love to save the family’s business and fortune and Aiden can’t stand-by and watch the woman he loves leave him for good. With secret looks and anonymous fantasies being written on a website, Bea and Aiden’s love grows but remains unspoken.  What will it take for Aiden to get the Park Avenue Princess to come down out of her tower and be with a lowly commoner like him and leave behind all of the money and glamour of high society?

5 STAR Review by Jodi for Ruby Red Romance Review

I loved this story. Loved isn't really the right word, because I felt so much more than that. This is book one of two and I 100% don't want to give anything away. I will say this book had it all. Sofia Tate does an excellent job sucking you in from the start and not letting go.

I loved everything about Aiden. Man is off the charts sexy. But he knows he would never stand a chance with is best friend's little sister. Beatrice has had a thing for Aiden for so long, but because of who she is, being with him would never be possible. Enter in Prose. Prose gives both Aiden and Bea an outlet to express their deepest, darkest, fantasies and desires. And fate, being what it is, leads Bea and Aiden to each other only they don't know it.

This story was great. Fantasy, meets reality, meets what could be. I loved ever second of this book and can't wait to see what happens next. Please check out Unspoken...I promise you will not be disappointed.

Sofia Tate is certainly a fresh writing voice in the romance genre.

I was pleasantly surprised with the way Unspoken played out. The blurb had me thinking one way but it turned out to be so much more. There was a collaboration of a lot of things going on in the story but the characters totally won me over. And though I've read a few 'best friend falling for the little sister stories,' this one just seemed to be more unique with the whole dating site thing. I loved Bea, Sebastian, and Aiden from the get-go so there were no trying to win me over situations for me to deal with. The bit of sexy thrown into the story just made it that much more enjoyable too.

I'm not sure how many books are planned for The Prose Series, but I definitely like the author's writing style. Unspoken was a fairly quick read for me but I'm going to make sure I keep up with Sofia Tate to see where the series is headed next.

Aiden Dwyer has worked hard all of his life to achieve his goals. While he works as a construction worker alongside his father, his best friend, Sebastian Parker, has grown up with a privileged life as a member of one of Manhattan's elite families.

For many years Aiden has lusted after his best friend's younger sister, Beatrice (Bea) Parker, who is also known as “The Park Avenue Princess.” When he discovers that Bea has created a profile on an exclusive dating site, he jumps at the opportunity to get to know another side of her while remaining anonymous.

Will Bea finally see Aiden as more than just her brother's best friend; or will Aiden ruin any chance at a relationship with Bea when she learns of his true identity?

(I received an ARC of Unspoken from Sofia Tate in exchange for my honest review.)

Unspoken is the steamy tale of two young lovers that express themselves anonymously on an online dating site. The chemistry between Bea and Aiden is off the charts! Bea has been raised to become a lady and is expected to marry someone of important status, not a worker like Aiden. When given the right opportunity to have the chance at happiness and love, they both jump at the chance. If you love a sexy romance novel, than this book is for you!

Falling for you best friends sister, blue collar/high society romance. I love when opposites come together. You can feel the chemistry right off the bat with the bickering between Aiden and Beatrice. Aiden may be a construction worker but he is also so smart and sexy. Plus he knows what he wants. Beatrice she may be Aidens best friend Seb's little sister but she has sass and a way with her prose. Once Aiden discovers a way to get closer to Bea all bets are off and the prose exchanged between the 2 will heat up your kindles. You feel for Bea and being like a puppet for her parents life. I love Aiden and Bea together. They just make so much sense and you can feel the love between them. Such a wonderful read that gets you all hot. I can't wait for Sebastian's book next.

this was by first read by Sofia and I was not disappointed. As the book was winding down I was thinking cliffhanger but not really..

Aiden is Sebastian's best friend and in love with Sebastian's sister Bea. Bea is quite a bit younger than Aiden but she still is crushing on him although the banter between them would lead you to think otherwise. Bea goes on a fantasy website to let out her feelings in ways she can't normally when Aiden finds out he gets on the same site and helps Bea with these fantasies. When she finds out the truth will she ever forgive Aiden?

This is a friends to lovers story that I can't wait to see what happens in Book 2

I devoured this book in half a day! It was so good! The prose was wonderful and so intimate! Aiden was so lovable. He treated Bea like she was his queen and he never gave up on her, even when she tried to push him away. I liked Bea but at the same time I hated her. I loved her when she was her true self. I hated her when she put the high society socialite and her "obligations" first. I didn't like that she stubbornly pushed Aiden away when he confessed the truth to her. But I'm glad they fully found each other in the end, even if they had to deal with a life treating issue in order for that to happen. These two will stick with me. *I voluntarily read and advanced copy of this book for my honest and unbiased review.*

This is my first book by this author and I enjoyed this story.

Loved the idea of a dating site using the written word to connect instead of focussing on the physical aspects.

I felt sorry for Bea. It shows that money doesn't buy happiness or freedom to choice. Aiden was a great character, he came across as a real and decent guy and he was just right for Beatrice.

It was a fun, sweet and sexy read.

I enjoyed this book and it’s characters. I love a good brothers best friend book. Aiden and Bea are from completely different social circles, yet over the years they’ve realized they both like each other, but they also both think it could never work. This book had a bit of drama and lots of steamy scenes. I’d recommend this book.

These two are a hot mess from the jump Aiden is from Queens and Bea is from Park Ave and lord help them her parents suck. Aiden and Bea communicate on Prose and she has no idea ... then her parents drop a bomb shell on her and neither of them care for it. Seb her brother and Aidens best friend saves his life which is what finally gives Bea the push to stand up for what she wants. Super fun read.
