Quitting pornography under grace is a new, positive approach for ending internet porn use; andit works! How do you quit any compulsive, addictive, behavior? Dr. Hughes adapts the successful techniques used in smoking cessation programs, including positive motivation, a firm decision to quit, social support, and replacing the “thrill” with healthy alternatives. Blending his knowledge of clinical psychology, health research, and biblical truth, Dr. Hughes lays out a practical and action-oriented program to stop using pornography in a convenient workbook that men can use in small groups or even with just one trusted friend. Are you ready to quit? Do you want to be free? Quitting under grace is the answer.
First, I'm a husband and dad to my two kids. We live in Orange County, CA. I've been writing for about 20 years, usually about Christian living, theology, philosophy, apologetics, and culture. When my dad, and then my young wife, were both diagnosed with stage four cancer within a couple of months apart, our world changed. I wrote my current book to help people know what to say and do when something like that happens. It will help readers know how to love a friend or family member with a critical illness.
I will be releasing a larger book soon called "In Your Corner". It's about my personal journey as a husband and a caretaker to my wife, Rebekah, with stage four breast cancer. Over the last two years, we have also filmed a documentary about Rebekah's life, journey, and faith through cancer. It's called "A Brave Hope" and will be out soon.
My passions are reading, learning, writing, and creating things. We love to hit up garage sales, thrift stores, and antique stores. We enjoy refurbishing old furniture and making old things, new. Geesh, we sound old. I'm 40 and Rebekah is 30. But we are quite nerdy. We love to relax in bed, watch our shows on Netflix, and eat ice cream.
Last year we started "Rebekah's Hope" to house our books and movie. Rebekah's Hope exists to educate, encourage, and empower anyone walking the cancer journey. We want people to know that there is always hope.
