The Girl Behind The Red Door is probably one of the sweetest books I've read so far this year. Seriously: the story is sweet, the characters are sweet. The only things that weren't sweet were the conversations because they were sassy and witty. Perfect!
Even though there were a few scenes that were a little too cheesy in my opinion, I enjoyed every minute of this book.
Charlie was a girl after my own heart and I could see myself being friends with her. She was - yes, you guessed it - sweet, loyal, smart, a little bit nerdy, and so kind. Since Charlie is only a year younger than myself I could easily identify myself with her claim of being old. Because that's what we are! Old! I can already see ourselves binge-watching Supernatural on Friday nights instead going to a club.
Speaking of Supernatural. I cracked up over all of the SPN references in the book, it was hilarious.
Reed Windsor. Oh boy. What can I possibly say about this Bristish charmer that does him justice. Probably nothing because this guy is the real deal. I'm not even into redheads but I would make an exception for him - oh and for Prince Harry of course.
Reed was definitely not your usual college senior. He was very mature for his age which really impressed me. Even though he was good looking (and he probably knew it), he didn't go around chasing girl after girl. He was more focused on his college career, his friends and trying to convince Charlie that they were made for each other, that they were perfect.
"You want to know 'why you'? Because it's only ever been you."
What I really enjoyed most about the story was the authenticity. There was no insta-love or instant lusting after the other. Both took their time to get to know the other and because of that their feelings, their trust, and their affection grew slowly but steady into a real and great relationship with respect and lots of love.
"Where you go, I go."
I also enjoyed the appearance of a very special character in this book. <3
The Girl Behind The Red Door is a novel that warms your heart and makes you feel good even after finishing it. It's a perfect read for a relaxing spring day in the park or to cheer you up after a very crappy day.

The Prologue had my full attention and captured my full attention until the end and let me say that I needed to get to the end because I needed to know how it ended.
Reed intrigued me from the beginning, he was like a puzzle that every time he gave a little more of himself I had to see where that piece belonged. I didn't know how he and Charlie were connected so my excitement increased because I needed to get to the bottom of this mystery.
Charlie was left skittish and rightly so but Reed was trying his best to break down those steeled bars she built around her heart and life.
Be prepared to fall for Reed and all his sweet ways he makes sure to let Charlie know what she means to him. Kara ~ 4.5 Stars

“Tell me something real.”
I don’t read a lot of books like this normally. Not because I don’t want to but because they are usually a huge hit or miss for me. I can’t seem to find a middle ground with them. But The Girl Behind the Red Door was an absolute hit with me. And then some.
This book is being advertised as a fun and feel good read and I 100% agree with said statement. The Girl Behind the Red Door was a light-hearted, witty, and definitely a feel good kind of read. While I was reading it I couldn’t help but keep feeling like everything was just playing out so smoothly and unforced. Cassie really made sure the plot was strong and that the characters meshed well together. Which brings me to my next point:
The characters in this story were my absolute favorite. If you follow my reviews you know I always go on spiels about secondary characters and how much I love them. With that being said, ALL of the characters you meet in The Girl Behind the Red Door play such a huge part whether it’s in Charlie or Reed’s life. I thoroughly enjoyed all of them, and that might even be an understatement. I didn’t just like them for their personalities but for the chemistry they all had with each other. Even if it was just a platonic chemistry, it was there and it was felt strongly. It didn’t feel like Cassie was just forcing these people into the story. They were just all fitting perfectly in their places, right where they belonged.
“Maybe anguish came later. Maybe it came from forcing emotions. Maybe it was bred in people. Either way, I couldn’t imagine feeling anything other than happiness with her.”
Cassie’s writing in this book showed to me just how dynamically different she really is. And not even just with romance. She writes with so much fun humor and wit that I was giggling and smiling my way through the entire book. It was so much fun to watch her quirky and fun personality come out in all of the characters within this book.
I’m not a fan of insta-love. I’m just not. I really yearn for that slow burn romance because I like to feel the build of the characters connections but what was even better about this story was it was a friends to lovers type of slow burn. So while we still got to witness these characters falling for each other we got to see them be friends first. Them just hanging out and being themselves and figuring each other out. I loved that more than anything.
“I was mesmerized. I wanted to know that girl behind the red door. Charlie, you’ve never been far from my mind. My heart. Not ever.”
I kick myself every time I think about all of Cassie’s books I have missed out on. That won’t happen any more. She is on my TBR for 2018 and I will get caught up on all of her books before it’s all said and done. Her writing style is so refreshing and clean I can’t help but read her work in one sitting. I hope this isn’t the last of these characters. I know a few in this story who deserve a story of their own.

The Girl Behind the Red Door is a sweet romance of not only second chances but in many ways, a real life fairytale.
Reed and Charlie aren't the most likely of pairs but their attraction is evident from day one. Determined to win the woman of his dreams, Reed is patient and caring. He shows Charlie in many ways how much she means to him and to those around her.
Charlie has been hurt but through that pain she has turned her life into something grand and bigger than she planned. She quickly learns the value of friendship that is family and accepts that sometimes you have to take a chance on love to live again.

You all know me. You know I'm all over the younger man/older woman stories. I can't remember where I saw a post about this book. But once I knew what it was about I was shamelessly dropping hints to the author that I wanted to read it. And I am so glad I got to.
The Girl Behind The Red Door is so cute, so fun. I'm sure you're thinking "does Jen even like cute and fun stuff?"... The answer is yes. Yes, I sure do. What I don't like is melodrama or cheesy shit. I don't like books that take themselves too seriously. This little novel was smart, witty, fun.
Reed was EXACTLY the kind of hero I look for in novels. He was not alpha. He was not a pyscho. He was not a prick. I like romantic interests who have strength. A strength of character, honesty, and charm. Everything beautiful about him was internal. Yes, he was described as a hottie, but that's not what drew me in. I love the back and forth he had with Charlie. I loved their friendship and the foundation they built.
Reading The Girl Behind The Red Door brought back so many memories of writing Burning Muses. Reed had been pining for Charlie since he was a little boy. So many Chace and Sera feels hit me.
In short, I really think you need this book in your life. The world can really bring us down sometimes, and books like this bring a damn smile to our faces. What's not to love about that?

I'll start off with saying the start of the book had me captured. It took a bit for the pieces to fail together. But, HELLO, when Reid enters the scene I was hooked. The intrigue and mystery behind their connection kept me hooked. Charlie was amazing! What she did in the brink of heartache was incredible. She's no doormat. Loved the age difference and the story behind the two main characters. And holy hell the amount of angst when a certain character re-enters the scene is intense. It was so amazing. I'll never look at the letter W the same again. A genuine love story that everyone needs to read!

Waffles and Whipped cream.
This was a cute book. The idea that spawned for the jewelry. Fantastic! The “boy” names. Loved it. The notes. Super cute. Reed and Charlie’s story was adorable. I loved that he was British. Picturing Prince Harry....perfect. Great job Cassie!!

For me, the story seemed to start off slow after the prologue, but it began picking up by the fourth chapter. Charlie and Reed’s story is a low angst, sweet, heartwarming read. The characters were very likable and were pretty normal people (like someone you might know in real life). Reed is not a stereotypical alpha male, but he is a really sweet, funny, and swoon worthy male MC. Charlie is just as sweet, funny, and likable as Reed. There is a slight age gap between Charlie and Reed; she is 27 y/o and he is 22. They have a couple of chance meetings and become friends first. Once Charlie and Reed decide to take their friendship to the next level, their relationship is relatively easy and angst-free. There is more to Charlie and Reed's romance that I'm not going to go into detail about, but it definitely adds another level of romance and a sense of serendipity to their story. That "more" is something that I don't think I've seen in any of the contemporary romances that I've read and it made me love these characters even more. There is an incident that occurs around the 85% mark that causes Charlie’s trust issues to flare up and results in Charlie and Reed separating for a relatively brief period of time (I’m estimating that it was probably a couple of weeks). The bulk of that time is so that Charlie can deal with the aftereffects of the end of her last relationship and fully heal from it. This book is told in alternating POVs and does have a HEA ending. It is probably one of the sweetest romance books that I’ve read this year. It was also a pretty realistic story about healing after a heartbreak and finding true love. I definitely recommend this book to anyone that is looking for a low angst, sweet, heart-warming, feel good romance. I look forward to checking out some of this author’s other books.

The Girl Behind the Red Door was a surprisingly, light-hearted read. I expected some heart ache to give me feels, but they never came and that’s okay! This book gave me plenty to be happy about. Super sweet couple in COLLEGE! (My book besties will be proud to know I enjoyed it and never once mentioned it lol.)
Charlie & Reed have a much older, deeper connection that unfolds. It makes the intense feelings that much more believable. He’s a younger guy, yes...Charlie is a cougar ;)

After a challenging week, the smooth, easy, totally wonderful The Girl Behind the Red Door was just what I needed!
Reed’s been too busy, too involved in his own life to have a real relationship. To find that special person to spend time with. To grow with. To fall in love with. Until Charlie.

This is the first book I have read by Cassie Graham and the story was great.
Charlie and her group of friends, Blake and James, were so funny and likeable. I love these girls. From the first chapter, you get to feel for Charlie. I had tears in my eyes a few times and laughed at the conversations between the girls.
The leading man, Reed, is very cute and swoon-worthy; I mean, a cute, British, member of the royal family and who says all the right things? Yeah, Reed does this. I did feel, as a Brit, that the way Reed spoke wasn't exactly the way an English person speaks but I was able to get over that and delve into the beautiful love story that was The Girl Behind The Red Door.
The plot flows along at a good pace and keeps you amused and invested in their relationship. This book is definitely worth a read.

I have only read two books by Cassie Graham, and she has truly shown that she is a very talented writer. The Girl Behind the Red Door was a very cute, fun read. I flew through it and was able to read it in a day. If there is a need for a summer beach read, this would be an excellent pick.
The book opens with Charlie being left at the altar with a broken heart and a jaded view of falling in love. When the hot, red headed Reed comes along, he slowly enchants her and Charlie slowly begins to heal.
"The basis of any good relationship was the ability to make fun of each other."
I typically enjoy stories that are a little deep, but this one is mostly fun and whimsical. The characters are real and refreshing. The romance between Charlie and Reed builds slowly and beautifully. I have really fallen for friends to lovers lately, and The Girl Behind the Red Door is no exception.

The Girl Behind the Red Door is sweet and adorably fun. With a cast that makes you feel at home and easily accepted, it's hard not to fall. Whether your interests lie in being friends or falling for a certain Brit, you will be pleased. Dibs on the hot Brit man candy! 😘

I want Cassie Graham to write more feel good Romances. It needed a light and fun romance and The Girl Behind the Red Door was just what I needed. I easily connected to Charlie and Reed and their witty banter was oh so enjoyable. Reed was one swoon-worthy, practically royal. The supporting cast was fun and each worthy of their own book. If you follow Graham on social media then it’s easy to tell that the characters in The Girl Behind the Red Door seem to encompass her perfectly.

This is the first book I've read by Cassie Graham. This is a delightful story that made me smile. I really liked Reed and Charlie. From their initial meeting to their eventual dating and falling in love. I also really liked how supportive they are of each other. I also really enjoyed the secondary characters. They were a great group of people. If you're looking for a feel-good book that will make you happy, this book is for you.

Witty banter and sweet characters, made The Girl Behind the Red Door an enjoyable book to listen to. Reed and Charlie were great characters who you couldn't help but root for. Charlie's last relationship didn't end well. But Charlie turned her pain into something truly remarkable for other people. Reed makes up for all the pain Charlie went through. He's such an amazing character and I loved how much he loved Charlie. I also really loved the narrators. This was easy to listen to and the narrators really brought the characters to life. Would definitely listen to this one again.

Charlie thought she had found love once, but it left her picking up all the pieces by herself. Like any strong woman she came out stronger than she ever was before. Now Charlie is finishing up her degree and doing something she honestly didn’t see coming, making friends. But what if one of those new friends has the potential to be so much more?
Reed always wondered about the woman behind the red door, he knew who she was but he never got to make his move. Now he’s found himself in her company and becoming close t o her. Will he be able to get out of the friend zone or is that all he’s destined to be? What about when he finds out Charlie’s secret that also leads to something he’s interested in?
I loved these two together. Reed reminded Charlie how to laugh, smile, and be young. Even though there is an acceptable age difference between these two it’s a little different with the woman being older. I loved how that never even played into either of their minds though when it came to them being together. It was basically do or die and I loved it.
The secondary characters and who they surrounded themselves with were awesome. I cannot wait to see if Graham writes stories about those other characters. If you want a book that will make you smile with a whole lot of love I think you should try out The Girl Behind the Red Door.

This weekend, the UK was blessed with some sunshine, shock horror, and while we had this glorious weather I read a book the warmed my heart and left me feeling good hours after I had finished reading. The Girl Behind The Red Door, was that book.
Cassie was able to create a light-hearted, feel good romance where everything felt effortless. The story had a flow that felt real, maybe that was due to the main characters building upon their friendship firstly before they evolved into a couple.
While I love a good insta-love novel, nothing can beat a good slow burn romance. Maybe it was the fact that the hero is British, that my connection with Reed was instant.
Reed Windsor, the name says it all. He is a total British charmer, a true gentleman. He knows how to treat the ladies right. And the fact that he happens to be a redhead, is like the cherry on top off this sweet delicious muffin. While he is a college senior, he has an old soul feel to him. His maturity impressed me and made me fall in love just that little bit more. I loved his conviction in making our heroine, Charlie, his.
Charlie was a girl who rebuilt her live after her fiancé left her at the altar. Now she creates beauty out off something that has been destroyed/damaged and giving it new life. Art imitating life. She was sweet, loyal and so kind. Not looking for love after her heart was broken, she was clearly hesitant to jump into a relationship quickly. As I was reading the book, I could see parts of myself in her, I felt like a kindred spirit.
I love both characters together, their conversations offer us plenty of sweet and heartfelt banter. You could feel the chemistry that these characters had run through your veins, giving off that electric feeling you experience when your heart is slowly beating away before bursting into a final song and dance.
Since finishing The Girl Behind The Red Door, I’ve been kicking myself knowing that I haven’t read any off Cassie’s work until this book, but I can ensure you that this issue will be sorted out swiftly. Be sure to put this book and author on your TBR List, you won’t be disappointed.

I feel like I can't express enough how much I love this book. This was one of the most fun books for me to read. It is a feel good romance about characters 22 year old Reed and 27 year old Charlie. And yes Charlie is a female with a name normal used for a man. But that is just one of the many things that makes her unique. But she doesn't know it. She had her heart broken years ago when she almost married a man that didn't deserve her. She spent the last few years hiding away, focusing on her now very successful business with her friends Blake and James, who are also women with names usually used for men. Reed and her meet at the college. He is a senior and she is returning to take a few business classes. They have an instant connection. And it turns out she is the girl behind the red door he has admired since he was a small boy. His family's vacation home was across from her home. They start a fun and passionate relationship but old wounds need healing and mistakes are made. But their bond is so strong as the reader we root for them to overcome it all.
This book was a blast. I was laughing so much. And she had me hooked with the Supernatural references. Supernatural fans will scream out in praise reading this. Especially when there is a ghost hunt involved. But this is not a paranormal story. This is a sweet romance. The author shows that no matter what things happen in life everyone deserves happiness. We just need to let go of our hurt or fear of being hurt to truly live our lives. I thought that was an awesome message.
I can't recommend this book enough. It is now my new favorite. I guarantee it's a fun read. Readers will fall in love with Reed and Charlie. Reed is charming, sweet, sexy with an addictive British accent. Charlie is strong (whether she knows it or not), hilarious and has the biggest heart. Charlie Oded has built herself up and a business with her best friend after the worst day of her life when her fiance left her standing at the altar. She created a business melting down jewellery and called it Better Than Revenge. She also gives money to charities and now has gone back to college to study business management as her business is booming and in the possibilities of getting bigger. Years ago when Charlie was little , her family lived in a house with a red door and across the road during the summers visited a little boy called Reed Windsor. Now Reed is all-grown-up and in the same classes as Charlie. She is the girl of his dreams, the one he has saved himself for. The thing is doesn't yet realise is she is also the voice in the interview he has been listening to over and over again. She is definitely his dream girl. Now Reed needs to find a way to get her attention as he notices she is a tad broken . He starts to leave her little notes signed "W". What will happen though when Charlie starts to fall in love with Reed and discovers his connection to her past and the notes and she will feel betrayed ? Also what will happen when Charlie's ex turns up at the college she is attending as he has been given a job in the theatre department alongside Reed ? Will Reed get his HEA with the girl of his dreams - the one from behind the red door or is Charlie over men for good ? The other thing is when I was reading this book we were briefly introduced to characters Lark and Rowan and I knew the name Lark Hawthorne - FBI agent was so familiar. Turns out that Lark and Rowan's story was written in The Truth of a Liar and I had read it two years ago . So in a way this is a standalone yet a sequel also.

The Prologue set the tone for whether or not I was going to like this book. While listening to Ms. Puckett, I could picture who Charlie Oded was and what she was feeling. It was very easy to see things through Charlie’s eyes. Reed Windsor was another matter. Don’t get me wrong; I liked listening to Mr. Campbell but not when he attempted to do an American accent. Personally, I wouldn’t have minded if he read the whole story with his natural accent. Every time he tried to Americanize; I wanted to laugh which I didn’t feel was fair to the author.
Other than that I really enjoyed the story. Ms. Graham did a great job of creating a romance that I could laugh at. I live not too far from Tanglewood and our author had me wanting to go up there and then listen to the book again. In the story, Reed is in Maine and that’s someplace else where I could take this book. And that would be an issue; I think I would prefer to read the book because I found myself looking for the parts where Mr. Campbell tried to do his American accent which would take my attention away from what else was going on. But maybe with Tanglewood as my setting, it could change my mind.
Besides our main characters, I came to look forward to the secondary characters. They helped me come to understand our couple. This is just something else that Ms. Graham is good at. She shows that not all books are about the main characters getting it on. She builds their world and leads us through it in a very pleasant way. It’s not hard picturing myself becoming friends with them. The ending left me laughing which was a great way to end the story but in a quirky way it was also very romantic. And that just left me looking forward to more of this author’s work.

This book caught me off guard. I didn't know what I was expecting, but once I began listening, I just could not stop. Cassie Graham had me caught up in the lives of Reed and Charlie. Charlie Odet is a woman who has been hurt. Left at the alter, she has used her situation to launch a successful jewelry business. She goes back to school to complete her education and becomes wrapped up in senior, Reed Windsor. What a man, he remembers Charlie from his childhood and has had a crush on her forever. Now is his chance to really get to know her and their relationship slowly builds. This story of love, flirtation, second chances and all around good feelings will make you believe there is someone out there for you. There are definitely a few surprises, but the warmth and feelings this story evokes kept me enraptured til the very end. I loved it and will look for more by Graham.
Sarah Puckett and Steve Campbell nail this narration. Puckett has her emotional voice for this one, as we get to know and live through Charlie's struggles. I love that she can give the feels of uncertainty as well as the warmth of love in her inflections. Campbell is new to me, and I fell in love with his voice. Reed Windsor is your next book boyfriend!
Cassie Graham hit it out of the park with this absolutely feel good read! It was a great read that kept you glued to the pages as well as not being to heavy. Completely light and captivating. This sweet story of The Girl Behind The Red Door will no doubt keep you intrigued.
Charlie thought she had her life figured out and knew exactly how she wanted her life to go. Well, life had other ideas. Reed was one of the game changers in this life of hers! Little did Charlie know that life could be different and be great at the same time. Sometimes things we didn't know we needed turn out to be what we need most.
I think that my absolute favorite part of this story of love and life is the fact that Charlie and Reed were friends first. We all love a great love story, but them being friends first just flowed so easily with the story line. Cassie did a great job of transitioning between the POV's and the characters as a whole.
I'm giving this story 4 1/2 stars! It's absolutely adorable, it kept me entertained. I totally devoured it! And that HEA was just the sweetest and so perfect! This was my first Cassie book and I plan on devouring all of her words this year! She just has a fantastic style! Highly recommend this story!

This story is what REAL love is all about. It’s heartfelt, and beautiful.. Full of the little things, stolen moments, and sweet forehead kisses.
When Charlie’s faced with starting over, she doesn’t really know what to expect. Life has been hard as of late and she’s struggling to keep herself above water, and not drowning in memories of the past.
Then, along comes Reed - a swoony British hunk of a redhead… who only has eyes for her. She’s kind of at a loss of what to do, nothing about their connection adds up. The math just doesn’t work. But sometimes when life is just a bit off, it takes the right person to put everything back into place.
That is what this book is about. It’s about loving another person, regardless of what others think; it’s about letting the little things be the big things. It’s about allowing yourself to relinquish some control and let fate happen.

Audiobook Review
LOVED it, Loved it, Loved it.
This book was really great, it kept my interest from the beginning, and as the chapters went by I couldn't stop listening to it. It was heartwarming, sweet, with a good storyline, and great characters.
Charlie was a strong woman, resilient, clever, cheerful, compassionate and a waffle lover lol...( that everytime they had waffles I craved for one). I loved how she didn't let what happened to her tear her down, instead making something really great out it.
Reed... OMG, he's sweet, caring, lovely, sweet, in a nutshell, he was perfect. I loved the way he is with Charley and how their relationship worked out really well despite the age gap.
And Anakin, just the sweetest addition to the book.
As for the narrattion, it was perfect, both narrattors did a pretty awesome job narrating the book, the pace, their voices, accents, and the way they portrayed the characters emotions was great.
Overall, if you are looking forward listening to a sweet romance with great characters and awesome narrattion, this book is for you.

I’m not sure where this book came from it appeared like magic. I jumped in without really knowing what it was about, but I adored it. I mean what’s not to love about a red head with the last name Windsor (ok not that royal but he’s related to him) and a girl trying to pick up the pieces of her shattered heart?
Charlie was left jilted at the alter by a douchebag named Brandon. She has just been existing since throwing herself into her business and attending her last year of school. You see Charlie is a 27-year-old in college and she feels old. Her best friend and business partner Blake pushes her out her comfy nest and forces her to live. A happenstance encounter is when she meets Reed Windsor. He makes her feel alive but seriously he’s 22 why would he want to date an old lady? Reed slowly pulls Charlie out her safe little box and shows her how she should really be treated. Reed has always loved the girl behind the red door. He felt in some way he’s always waited for her in some sort of subconscious way. He attends college for theater with his best friend Amelia. When he finally locks eyes on the grown-up Charlie, he knows it’s fate. He shows her how she should be loved and gives her one heck of an experience along the way. Reed may be young and may have ties to a certain royal family, but he is wise beyond his years making Charlie hopeful for their future.
Tell me something real…..ok well this book was cute! Like its marketed as a feel-good romance and it does just that. You find yourself cheering for them the whole time. Even when things got rocky you still wanted to see them succeed. I loved that Reed has always known Charlie despite her not having many memories of him other than the kid who played with matchbox cars. This book is also full of some of the best friends anyone can ask for. All in all I’m glad this book appeared because it was nice for once to just take a break from all the dark and dramatic romances out there and just have an easy read.

Oh this book started so sad, my heart broke for Charlie. She was left at the alter. who does that? This left Charlie brokenhearted. Charlie Closed herself Off from Love, She picked up the pieces to her life little by little. Blake Charlie's Best friend has been by her side through it all. Charlie finally decided to go to School and finish her degree. Charlie meets Reed and Amelia, she was happy to make new friends, but Scared.. I can't blame Charlie Brandon messed her up Emotionally. How do you trust what you feel or what anyone Said. Amelia and Reed proved to be good Good people, but Charlie was still scared. This book is full of emotions. It was easy to relate to. Thank you United Indie Book Blog for allowing me to read this amazing book. I fell in love with the characters. You just can't help it.

Reed, oh Reed
I loved this book. I have been in a MAJOR book slump when I stumbled on this new-to-me author and I am so glad I did! Not gonna lie....normally I’m all about the sex and the graphic details and this book does have major steam factor but in a totally different way. This author made me feel so much for Charlie and Reed prior to the sexy times that I had butterflies in my stomach before anything actually happened! That’s a well written book, I connected to these characters, I wanted to know them in real life. And one of the best parts of this books? Low angst.....Real life has enough angst sometimes you just need a break from all that....sometimes you just need a Reed in your life:)
