Best trick book I've come across. Very detailed. Really is a step by step guide. Lots of tips to help you along. Shows you how to chain together tricks to create the more difficult tricks. Wish I had come across this book sooner. Highly recommend.
Step 1: Read training book - Complete Step 2: Utilize training book - haven't quite started
Seems legit. I like how this book is structured. All positive reinforcement, a ton of building blocks and clear paths to victory. Bonus challenges and alternative training strats make this more accessible for all levels of trainer.
Would definitely recommend to a friend. I'd consider my dog "well-versed" in tricks but there are plenty of novel exercises here to work with.
Note: I bought this book for some new ideas for tricks/stunts to boost obedience and new things to challenge me and my dog. Now all I have to do is get to work!
I have not completed every trick in this book (though I do have a goal to) but I have done a few tricks in this book and looked through all of them.
I have recommended this book to people. Each trick has a step by step that is clearly laid out and even has tips and tricks. I was able to teach the tricks with the steps outlined. There are some really cool fun tricks in here too!
Some tricks I found my dog needed a little more help with, more physical manipulation becouse she was finding the way the book suggested to do it frustrating. They also always say to reward for increments, which is found frustrates my dog too, becouse she gets rewarded for it one day and not the next.
I loved how super clear the authors are in describing each trick. They made it so easy to teach my dog the basic tricks. We'll practice these for a while and pick the book up again later to continue learning. Really impressive training manual.
Great book. This should be a must-read for all new dog owners. I read this on my kindle and it was okay but I feel it would be better as a paperback book for actual uses with training. I was just checking out the book and not using it with a dog.
Super helpful and insightful. Would come back to this again and again. Versatile and helpfully progressive in its teachings. Already tried some with my dogs! Slowly learning. By far the best training book I’ve found so far.
They break down the steps in teaching the trick and offer alternate ways to teach it. Very comprehensive and realistic approach. Detailed. As a trainer I am impressed and will refer back to it again and again as I seek new challenges for my cattle dog.
