The Bone Coven Chronicles #1–4

The Bone Coven Chronicles: The Complete Series Boxed Set

Rate this book
This boxed set contains all four books in The Bone Coven Chronicles.

Ever since my parents died in the demon war, I’ve paid my way through life by using magic to con people. It’s not right, but a girl’s gotta do what she can to survive.

Unfortunately, my latest con has left me smack dab in the middle of a murder scene. Now, a coven of angry mages thinks I’m the killer. In order to clear my name, I have to team up with an infuriatingly sexy warlock whose powers are far darker than he admits. Throw in a string of related murders and a vexed vampire clan, and I’m up to my eyeballs in danger.

But that's not even the worst of it. When I get too close to the real killer, he casts a life-threatening curse on my grandmother. Before, I just wanted to save my own butt, but now I’ll do whatever it takes to track him down—even if it means following him through monstrous dimensions.

Because I don’t play nice with magic. And when you mess with Grandma, you become #1 on my sh*t list.

Well, I'm a huge fan of Urban Fantasy genre, and this fits right in. It's a bit of a trope with the slow-burn vampire romance, but the context the author puts it in works for this book series. It makes logical sense and I enjoyed the series. One complaint I do have is that the main character is a bit of an idiot, missing very obvious clues, ignoring things that are important for transitory activities. Then there is the absolutely easy way she got and worked with her powers, and while it is good, it was a bit off-putting.

All that said, I devoured the whole series quick, reading even when I was supposed to be doing other things like sleeping. It was a page turner, and I'm glad I read it.

As you come to expect from the pen of Jenna another excellent novel.
Involving witches. warlocks, vampires, demons and werewolves its packed with action from beginning to end.
Zoe uses her powers to trick people out of money so she can make rent and keep food on the table for her and her Gram.
When her latest adventure goes wrong and she becomes the focus of the 'Enforcers' of the Coven it starts a series of events when she learns that her powers are more than she can ever imagine.

Good Supernatural Series

Liked this series. It had action, good characters, good story that brought many different types of supernatural beings into the mix. Had a few spelling errors in the last book and could have been more detailed on some characters that were introduced.
Either way a good read.

Amazing!

This story is full of magic and mystery. Every time you think you've got it figured out, something new pops up. Very good characterization. I would recommend this to all of my friends.

This is one of the first books in the Urban fantasy setting that I have read, and I have to say that it was an enjoyable read! I came for the magic and the vampires and they were certainly there.

Just done with the first book: I liked the setting. The characters were believable, maybe a bit predicatble: Damsel in distress (but not totally damsel, she got some sick powers in the making), handsome mysterious man with looks to meld to; good natured best friend and totally boring male friend who is so into our MC. So, when our Dorian got in the story I knew I got more then just magic and vampires. But there was a sollid story underneat and I am looking forward to the second book.

For now: solid 3 stars.

After finishing the second book i can only stand by my solid 3 star rating (and would go for a 3.5 but Goodreads does not have that option). Again a good story with our distressed but ow so powerful damsel. It was not necessary to have read the first one to understand the second one. But would recommend to read them in order so there are no spoilers.

Book three and four (since they are together one story) keeps at it, still more romance plot driven then action plot driven. I would have preferred if the story was a bit more... logical. It is very impulsed based. But if you don't think about it to much and let yourself be carried by the impulses it is an enjoyable reed.
