Our romantic couple gets closer despite all of Cassie Ireland's hang ups. When the parchments of the Magna Carta are stolen, Cassie is called in to recover them. Carter decides to help out. The two find clues, but are stymied every step of the way by the crooks, the cops, and the museum board. An old love of Cassie's seems to be involved. Lots of derring do.

Not bad, but not quite as good as the first novel.

Another fantastic piece by these two authors, I hope they produce more books together. Makes the next book on my list from the talking book library look like I’m going to be bored.

London, England. British Library. Dr. Sarah St. James (wife, curator) was now in charge of organizing/displaying the 4 original Magna Carta medieval manuscripts.
Michael (husband) was pretty proud of her.
PACCAR, Inc (gallery). sponsored the exhibit.
Colin Saunders (security guard) buzzed Dr. St. James through.

The display cases had been designed by Titan Security Solutions.
Guaranteed not to be penetrable.
A note was left for Dr. St. James.
A demand of $100-million-pound ransom in 5 days.
Sarah, Malcolm Bridges (security display designer, Titan Security Solutions), & Ian Thorpe (55+, Library’s Security Director), were the only PPL that had access cards.
Paris, France. Arrondissement mansion. Jason Seabolt (A/A, wealthy husband/father) was the owner. The 2 Doberman Pinschers roamed the perimeter.
Cassie Ireland (thief) had a job to do there for Prometheus (Cassie’s employer).
Sir Robert Howell (60+, Trustee head) came to hear what happened to the valuable artifacts.
Cassie (Global Security) wanted to speak with Dr. St. James.
What news did Margaret Jameson have for Dr. St. James?
Sir Robert Howell was having a 9-member trustee meeting.
Those in attendance were: Dame Elizabeth Rowland, Lord Harold Sommerton, Alexander Crossley (MP, Foreign Affairs committee Chairman), Sir Philip Blackburn, Lady Liliane Tresch, Mr. Crossley, & David Asquith (77).

Most agreed the ransom needed to be paid.
Inspector Gerald Murdoch (Metropolitan PD) came to see Jake Carter (Global Security, gambler), Cassie, & Dr. St. James.
Gunnar Agnarsson (Prometheus’ tech) was asked to help out in the search for the money.
Cassie & Jake were going to meet with Mr. McNulty.
Malcolm had been strangled to death.
Culzean Castle. Dawn of Hope Foundation gala event. Will Max Dekker (deceased) be able to help the group: Cassie, Gabriel & Jake?

What happened to Gabriel?
Would the Magna Carta ever be found?

I did not receive any type of compensation for reading & reviewing this book. While I receive free books from publishers & authors, I am under no obligation to write a positive review. Only an honest one.

A very awesome book cover, great font & writing style. A very well written mystery book. It was very easy for me to read/follow from start/finish & never a dull moment. There were no grammar/typo errors, nor any repetitive or out of line sequence sentences. Lots of exciting scenarios, with several twists/turns & a great set of unique characters to keep track of. This could also make another great mystery movie, or better yet a mini TV series. It kind of remined me of the cartoon Scooby Doo. To be continued? A very easy rating of 5 stars.

I don't give 4 or 5 stars easily, the author really has to earn them. This book earned 4 stars for good reasons: 1. there was and interesting plot that wasn't a replay of something else. It has some very interesting twists that were unexpected. 2. The plot was very well developed and didn't seem like and introduction to something else or a follow up, although it is part of a series it easily stands alone.
3. great character development. You learn about these characters a little at a time and they have complex traits. Why not a 5 star rating? It is not a book I would run out to buy or wait for the next one in the series to come out. Like many authors today Mr Goldman depends on the F-bomb to describe way too much. After so many times it looses all descriptive value.

Four original copies of the Magna Carta disappear from a London museum that was supposed to be secure. Cassie Ireland is hired to find them before the ransom must be paid without notifying the police or missing the deadline or the Magna Carta's will be destroyed. Jake Carter, a gambler, follows Cassie and together they go on a dangerous mission to find them items.
I enjoyed the book and would recommend it.

"Fascinating and Suspenseful"

In a London museum, the four original copies of the Magna Carta are stolen. The thieves demand a one-million pound ransom in five days. There are only two people who can save the documents, Cassie Ireland and Jake Carter. High action here with suspense, adventure, and romance. This author definitely knows how to entertain his readers. Awesome story.

Maybe it's just me, but I didn't find this anywhere near as good of a read as the first Ireland/Carter thriller, All In.

This is more of a mystery than the adventure All In was. A couple of twists, but they weren't enough to offset the predictability of the book.

Good read. Hard to put down

Great characters and good action. Story flows and is easy to follow. Cassie and Jake fit well together. Highly recommend both books in the Ireland and Carter series.

I first read All In as part of the Winter Reading Challenge in MO. Someone mentioned this author as a local one to check out. That book was fast-moving and I kept reading 'just one more chapter'. I kept wondering how it would play out with the number of pages remaining. I started this book right after. They both have enough twists to keep you intrigued and it is interesting to see the motivations of the characters. I am going to have to read his other series.
