2nd Chance Diner #9

Lemonade & Loathing

Rate this book
Rosemary is in the middle of planning her wedding. Tasting cakes, touring venues, planning her honeymoon. She and Simon are looking forward to their big day and some well-deserved time off.

When Rose and Simon go to visit a local resort, they expect to try out some of the food and check out the ballroom. They certainly don't expect to trip over a body on the golf course or to get sucked into yet another murder. Will they be able to discover the murderer before someone else falls victim?

Book 9 in the 2nd Chance Diner Mystery series! For fans of Carolyn Dean, Angela Blackmoore, Agatha Frost, and CeeCee James. A light, cozy mystery with a snarky sidekick, a handsome detective, and fun friendships. No swearing, graphic scenes, or cliffhangers.

Planning a wedding can be murder

Terrific. Finding a venue and having someone organise her wedding is what she desperately wants. However what she hears about one of the venue helpers shocks her. He has successfully wooed several brides-to-be. Finding him face down in the fountain with a head injury is not quite what she and Simon envisaged when they go to tour the local club. Who killed him? Was it due to his catting around? Late night snooping, arrests and bullying the local police force follow. Can they find the real killer before their lives are put at risk. A great plot with just enough twists and turns to keep it interesting but also with a great emotional aspect too. Love the characters, although Zee's vicious streak seems to be growing.

It seemed to be not as funny.

I love Beth's books. I could not wait to read this book. I was a bit disappointed because it was not as funny as the last few books. I missed a lot of Rose's and See funny attitude. Thank you for the great plot.

Murder at a resort

Rose is planning a wedding and stumbles on a dead body at a resort they are considering as a wedding venue. Of course, Rose gets sucked into investigating, and Simon is SO not happy about it.

A good little read

Just the right length to read at bedtime. I love these books. I love Zee, Rose and Az , Beth is so good at making you feel like you are actually watching the characters figure the mysteries out. I can't wait to read the next book.

Cute series

From the first page to the last Beth Byers keeps you memorized. You cannot put the books down, so lucky they are quick reads. Love the characters, the plot and how you think you know the killer then you have to read on to see if you were right!

Great Sunday afternoon mystery series

I really like Beth Byers-well plotted mysteries with heroines who are likable and not calloused. Great Pacific Northwest descriptions-now I want to visit there

Another Murder

I liked the fact these people are friends even though they disagree about some things !
I also like the fact they it is very interesting trying to figure out "who done it". I would recommend this series to all who love a well written story.
