They'll kill her if they find her. But she's mine now, and I protect what's mine. By any means necessary.
Prince Gabriel
Revenge was my only concern...until she barged into my life. A real woman, with real curves. Real curves that I need to make mine. My plans to claim the throne of Askovia might have to wait until I’m through claiming her.
Being a Prince means I’m used to getting what I want. And I want Ruby.
Ruby
I had to get away from my old life. My a**hole boss. My pathetic ex-boyfriend. I thought a small town would be a good place to start a new life. I didn’t think that new life would include a real life Prince! Now he says he’s going to claim me for himself. Honestly...that doesn’t sound so bad...
Warning - This book is filled with tons of smutty goodness, a growly alpha prince, insta-everything and a lovely HEA. ENJOY!
This is a standalone, novella length book (~25k words) and, of course, it’s safe, no cheating and HEA guaranteed!
Normal friend and neighbor by day, super-secret romance enthusiast by night!
Val’s hands are never far from the keyboard. She spends most of her evenings in front of a computer writing some of the wildest smut you can imagine.
She understands that sometimes you just need to spend some quality time with a glass of wine and a particularly steamy book, and she likes to write those books.
Blurb: They'll kill her if they find her. But she's mine now, and I protect what's mine. By any means necessary.

How does one get to where they were meant to be, when they have no idea where their going? The answer to that question is never an easy, but Ruby and Gabriel set out to make it a thrilling experience. She's running from life. He's fighting for vengeance. Who knew that escaping the past would put these two strangers at the threshold to forever. Her Mountain Prince is a primal experience. The danger is in risking your heart, not knowing where it will land.
I read this book as part of an arc program. This was a quick and steamy read about a prince named Gabriel who was living in hiding after his uncle killed his parents and took the throne. His uncle wanted Gabriel and his brother's dead so they were living on a mountain owned by Gabriel's mother. Gabriel and his brother's were gathering information against his uncle and were going to overthrow him. Meanwhile, anyone being seen with Gabriel would be in danger because of his uncle. When Ruby catches her ex-boyfriend cheating, she walks away from him and her job to take a bus until she lands in a small mountain town where she gets a job tending bar. Ruby is starting over and is happy. When she goes out the back of the bar, she sees Gabriel and another man, when a drunk patron follows Ruby to hit on her, he sees Gabriel and recognizes him, Gabriel knocks him out and makes Ruby go with him. Gabriel takes Ruby to his home on the mountain and tells her she has to stay for her protection. Ruby is attracted to Gabriel and she decides to act on that attraction. Gabriel sees Ruby and thinks she is his and will be with him no matter what. This was a really steamy read and a case of instant love between Ruby and Gabriel. I thought they had great chemistry and were really good together. Good one.
I'm not a fan of insta-love. I can't even wrap my imagination around meeting a stranger and declaring undying love for them within 24 hours. (Insta-lust... maybe. Insta-love...no... just...no.) Not my cup of tea.
There were (or at least seemed to me to be) a lot of inconsistencies in this story. For example, even if the toothless guy in the bar recognized Gabriel as the Prince of Askovia, how did he know who to call? And how did the hit squad get to Beauville so quickly? And how did they find the cabin so fast? Unless I missed something, all of this happened in less than 48 hours. Sorry, but no.
Then Ruby was just a little TSTL (too stupid to live). So... you're just going to trust what this stranger says? Thinking he may be a criminal--a Russian mobster--you're just gonna leave with him, going God knows where?
And for a prince, Gabriel isn't too bright...and you know that's saying something, because I always fall for the bad boys and the damaged ones. So...you happen to get the jump on the hitmen that we're sent to kill you, but rather than take them out to be sure they couldn't continue to come for you, you knock them out and tie them up. WTF? Then, you say it's so dangerous for Ruby to be seen with you, but you drop her off on Main Street... down the street from the bar...in broad daylight.
So much I didn't like, so little time to write about it all.
The idea sort of had merit, but for me the execution left much to be desired.
Nice little short story involving a disappointed young woman with her job and life in general and a foreign national of princely blood who is hiding for his life while he plans to take back his throne from an uncle who killed his mother and father.
Disappointed we never got to see any of his brothers that ran along with the prince. Disappointed we didn't see more action and storyline. The high points that's needed for any story were included, but geez... I really wanted to see more.
The book needed a few read-throughs to find all the errors, usually missing words and poor punctuation. Could have done better with a better editor.

Adult readers only due to sexual content. Ruby had a pig for a boss who told her that the only way for her to get a promotion was to have sex with him, so she quit. Good for her! Ruby goes home early to wait for her life in boyfriend to get home, thinking he would listen to her vent, only to find him in their bed with his secretary! So with a pig for a boss, and a cheating boyfriend, Ruby gets on a bus and goes until she can't stand to ride any longer. She ends up in Beauville, where she gets a job tending a bar for a nice older guy. Not a life long career, but it works for now. This is a good story. The whole "love at first site" is hard to swallow, especially for royalty. The back story with the uncle is interesting. I would like to learned a little more about the brothers. The story was good, it could have been great with a little more information.
Ruby has just fled New York with a broken heart and a quiet job. She takes the bus and just spends her money, changing routes untill she is tired of traveling and ends up in a cosy little village named Beauville.
She finds a job as a bartender and it doesn't take more than three months for her to know the regulars as well as their drinks.
One day, a rowdy bunch of patrons come in and one of them has the audacity to grab and pinch her bottom. Her boss comes to the rescue and, will serve the drinks while she takes care of disposing of the trask.
However, the loud mouth inebriated bottom pincher follows her and no doubt exists as to what he wants to do to her.
That is when, Gabriel comes in the picture and knocks out the shady person taking Ruby with her to his mountain retreat.
What a great read by a great author that I highly recommend and rate 5 Stars.
Cute short story. Loved the insta attraction and the very mild suspense of being on the run from an evil uncle who murdered his parents. But I know it’s meant to be a short story but a little more flesh about maybe confronting Luka and their encounter to regain the throne and have him arrested would have been better. It felt like something was missing. Just going from the fire to a year later.
Prince Gabriel has been exiled from his kingdom, after the murder of his parents. Now, all he wants is revenge - from the man behind the murder of his parents - his uncle Luca. But then he rescues his beautiful angel and falls for her.
Ruby has escaped New York from her asshole boss and a cheating boyfriend. She has been living in Beauville peacefully until trouble falls and her prince comes as her savior. She falls fast and hard for him.
Ruby has left behind her crappy job that she hated and a now ex-boyfriend. She walked away from her life when she walked in and caught her boyfriend in bed with another woman. She ends up traveling until she didn't feel like it anymore which is what brought her to Beauville. She gets a job in a bar and this is where she meets Gabriel. This is where their love story starts. But to get to their HEA they have to survive first.
I loved that Gabriel was a determined man, one that knew what he wanted and went after it. Ruby fell for Gabriel in an instant, without even knowing his past, that he was a prince, soon to be a king. He needed to stop his deceitful uncle first to have things fall into place.
She is a normal regular girl with some issues. As she is dealing with a scuffle she meets him. He is a Prince in hiding. Can this attraction work out? Do they have anything in common? Whats next?
I chose this book from a bunch in an email of April freebies/99 cent books. I went on to buy another book from the same author in the same series, just to see if it's as good. If you like the not so usual prince charming, this is the book for you!
Oh man…sorry I accepted this arc to read. Just wasn’t for me. Too repetitive; too weak; too borderline ridiculous. Maybe you’ll like it better…(I voluntarily reviewed an advance reader copy of this book and didn’t care for it at all.)😑
Insta love and immediate attraction abounded in this story. I enjoyed how the heroine was such a good person and how the hero was a honest man with a good sense of morality.
Entertaining, captivating and interesting sexy read. Well written with strong characters. I want to read more from this author. I voluntarily read and reviewed an Advance Reader Copy of this book.
It had a great setup, but it was too quick and it repeated everything several times. i skimmed over most of the book and felt like I didn't miss anything.
