Hotshot CEO Landon Connor knows what he wants: success. He knows his way around the boardroom, and his work has been front and center for him ever since losing his wife. But after sealing the biggest deal of his career, he decides to take a trip to his hometown. Nothing spells vacation like a little time in the LA sun with the boisterous family he’s missed so much.
But the tempting landscape designer working for his sister spells a whole lot more than fun. Maddie Jennings is everything Landon didn't think he wanted anymore. He can’t get enough of Maddie’s sweetness, or her sensual curves, and he pursues her every chance he gets.
Despite fanning herself every time Landon comes near her, Maddie tries to ignore their attraction. But Maddie hasn’t met anyone quite like Landon. He’s sexier than anyone has the right to be, and more intense too.
When Landon romances her with late night walks and flowers, she can’t help giving in to him. His touch is intoxicating, and his love is beautiful.
But can Landon open up his heart for longer than a summer?
*This book is a standalone and intended for readers 18+.
I was a sucker for men in suits, but men with rolled-up sleeves and muscled forearms were my kryptonite.
Maddie smiled sweetly at him while working on his cocktail. “Rule number one. Never be disrespectful to the person serving your food or beverage. You never know what they might put in. ”When she slid his glass toward him, the guy looked down at it as if afraid to touch it. I held my glass up in her direction, grinning. Her sass was contagious.
The dating world is a lot like seeing a fin in the water and thinking it’s a dolphin, only to later discover it’s a shark. It takes trial and error to get to the good ones.
My Review:
I adore Layla Hagen’s sweet and sexy romance, they are my guilty pleasure and have never failed to put a smirk on my face. Written in my favorite dual POV, the engaging story was low angst with clever hits of humor and provided a lovable cast of endearing new characters as well as and a sweet, steamy, equal, and supportive relationship. Nirvana. I look forward to many more stories featuring the feisty and lovable Connor clan.
Not bad but not memorable either. Its so so feeling. No angst. No drama. I feel this book is a tad longer. The banter is sexy and flirty enough. No characters development. Insta love connection. I like the dynamic of Connor family. They seems to be fun family. Love each other.
It was just underwhelming to me. There’s was nothing bad about this book, but nothing great either. There was zero drama, zero angst, and zero tension. It’s a good book if you need something safe after reading a very emotional book or just want a chill book break. The MMC is a widow but there’s never anything negative or any drama surrounding it. Solid book, just not memorable.
Before I began reading this book I wondered if half of my top reads for 2018 were going to be from Layla Hagen because I always love her books. Turns out that won't be the case because I didn't love the book. It was good enough but it lacked the usual spark and it felt like any other romance in some ways. I loved the Connors though and I am looking forward to Lori's book. I also liked the very brief appearance of Sebastian and Ava. Landon and Maddie were a good couple and I loved their relationship, but I wanted some drama to make things even better. I felt like their romance needed something more in order to be perfect. Landon was a good guy and he did all the right things. I liked how devoted Maddie was and a lot of others things about her, so I can say that as individuals these two worked for me. I felt as if their relationship was too vanilla though and that something was missing. It saddens me to give 4 stars to a book by Layla Hagen, but this book wasn't as good as her other works.
4 solid stars! Faithful both of them No ex drama He is a widower but he wasn't crying about his late wife. He wasn't manho either She was bold and hardworking woman Hot steamy sex scenes We get a glimpse about all brothers and sisters of this family. It's promising!
5 Sterne
Tailored suit meets smart and sexy garden lady. Maddie may have had the green thumb, but Landon was the one doing all the plowing.
Landon is your typical hotshot CEO, a commanding presence in and outside of the office. He shows as much commitment and attention to the nine-to-five as the woman he chooses to share bed with.
Landon is very hands-on... & workin' out business deals isn't the only thing he does with his mouth.
Of course he's deliciously sexy in a tailored suit and pleasantly stubborn without being a complete arrogant ass. In the romance book realm I can appreciate the balance.
He comes from a big and loud family that really defines the man he is... Landon isn't a stranger to tragedy, losing his parents at a young age, and his amazing wife—Landon understands the importance of family and what it means to make sacrifices. He's not afraid to step up and do the right thing, but he's not so inclined to let anyone help him—hence the stubbornness.
Maddie is equally stubborn, sexy in a pair of sneakers or a simple dress, either way she's down-right feisty. Like Landon, Maddie values family. She's also not afraid of getting dirty in the name of hardwork. Landon prefers the office, Maddie loves the outdoors. Life threw Maddie an shitty-ex-curve ball, but she's resilient and incredibly motivated to do life her way.
She finds herself easily swayed be the sexy CEO in a tailored suit. Landon proves to be very persuasive with his mouth.
They are instantly drawn to each other. It's fun, it's flirty and downright fluffy. Plenty of Damsel and distress moments to make your heart flutter and sexual tension to make you blush.
So why not 5 stars? *sigh*
I value the cat n' mouse game The good old fashion push or pull.
I'm not all about that instant gratification of insta-love, so to speak. I wasn't in love with Maddie and Landon and they were already ridiculously in love with their perfect relationship.
If you love insta-love, *nothing wrong with that* you will love Landon and Maddie's story.
The plot was meh...well, there really wasn't one. It was really a mad dash to sex. I could think of worst book goals, but I digress. There was little to no conflict, and I like me some drama. Again, really comes down to personal preference.
Everything was fluffy n' perfect. Landon was thee perfect man. A good listener, caring, cocky without being a complete douchebag & I absolutely hated him for it...just kidding although God forbid he have a single undesirable flaw.
Maddie's perspective seemed to be less important than Landon. Her backstory was also kind of a question mark. At times the family dialogue was a bit of a headache. Overall the book was dialogue driven, funny at times and wonderfully heartfelt, but also hard to envision.
In a nutshell, the plot, the pace, the characters, all took a backseat to the mind blowing sex. Nothing wrong with that if that's what you set out to read...There were some seriously steamy sexy time scenes delivered in this book, and quite beautifully... but I was disappointed that the same attention to those scenes didn't carry out in other areas of the story.
Landon and Maddie's journey was cute, full of sexual tension and all things flirty but it wasn't an epic love story. That doesn't mean it wasn't a fun read, it just could've been so much more.
This series (the Connor family) is a spinoff from the 10 book Bennett family series (they are cousins); Anything for You is the first book, and follows eldest brother Landon, and landscaper Maddie. The two have an instant attraction, but both have some relationship scars and aren’t looking for love.
It’s a fairly sweet, slow-burn romance, and what I call a vanilla romance. There's no major drama or fighting; both mc's are very likeable, and kind to each other; and it’s totally safe. There’s no ow/om drama; no cheating, and no double standards. (the H has a dead ex, but he's dealing with it maturely) Their only real issue is that Landon is only visiting LA, so there's an expiration date, but again no major angst... they are just making the best of their time living in the moment. It’s very realistic, and everyone’s “adulting” without a trigger in sight.
This book would be perfect for peeps looking for total safety, without wholesome cuz there's plenty of cursing and sex, so it’s not your g-ma’s romance, but it’s also why I can never be a FT member of the safety gang, because I was bored… a lot. It was just too steady, and too realistic for me… I’m living in a steady, mature, safety-approved romance, so I depend on books to provide some angst and drama-llama, and this was too tame to keep me interested.
Bottom Line- It really depends on what you’re in the mood for. If you want totally safe/drama free… dive in, but if you’re looking for angsty, and some “feels”; keep searching. 😊 Overall, it’s not bad, it’s written well, and there’s a short epilogue 3 months later.
Was passiert in diesem Buch?
I have been a fan of Layla Hagen since the very first book of the Bennett series. I always know that reading any of her books, will leave me with this heart warming feeling that puts flutters in my belly. She makes me fall in love with every one of her characters, especially Mattie and Landon. Each of her characters go through trials and tribulations, and respectably earn their happily ever afters, and Anything For You is no different.
Landon was so swoon-worthy. After losing his wife, he throws himself into work and only work. There is no play time, even at his siblings insistence. After sealing the deal of a lifetime, Landon decides to take a vacation that is very much needed, to spend time with his siblings.
After moving a couple of years ago to LA to be with sister Grace, Mattie finally is headed in the right direction personally and professionally, or so she thinks. Trying to build her landscaping business from the bottom, that's all she really has time for besides her sister Grace.
Being that Mattie is the landscaper that is currently working on Landon's sister Val's property, Landon can't help that he likes what he sees. Taking everything with a grain of salt, as the days go by, their chemistry and the sexual tension rises. As the temperature flairs so does their passion, but what happens when the summer isn't enough, and both lead two very different lives in two different places?
I very much enjoyed this story. One of my favorite things about Layla's writing is, she does not drag out the plot, even though she does make them earn it. This is a very inspirational read about a second chance at love. I can not wait to read Landon's siblings stories. There is so much magic in each family Layla creates, between the sibling bantering, the sibling love and most definitely the sibling interference in things they believe in.
I mean the following sentence in probably the most literal, non-sarcastic way: If you're up for a nice sweet, predictable af, smutty, definitely sexist and borderline-harassment book;
This is the book to go! I've read 3 out of 6 of the books in the series they are all obnoxiously predictive. There are scenes in this book that are so cringy, that simply rolling your eyes at is not enough. Your body will literally feel the need to curl in itself from the inside. There are several scenes where the female protagonist, Maddie, expresses her allure towards Landon (who is obviously a Greek-God like human being, with six-pack abs she can apparently see through his tight formal shirt. He was wearing a suit, how tight can his shirt be? Smh. ) and then feels the need to tell the reader "I don't need no knight. I'm not looking for a knight. I am my own knight." Which is just fucking cringy af. I think that these kind of beliefs or feelings should be expressed not told. That just fucks up the whole meaning, ya know?
Anyway, the book is not that bad. It has some good, if not cringy, smut scenes. And it's a good book if you're sad and lonely with no social life, like me. Otherwise, it's just fucking annoying.
Remember to only read this only if you're sad and lonely. You won't enjoy it otherwise.
Read til about 30%, too slow and honestly boring for me:( I however stopped and just skipped to Epilogue and quite frankly EVEN that was boring:(
Ughhhh, just didn't feel it with these two unfortunately. I do however like this author and just because this story didn't work for me others may love it and I can see I am clearly in the minority!
I would for sure read this whole series. This author’s style of writing is exactly what I enjoy totally. Humor, a large happy family who works and supports one another. Sexual bantering, tension, and yes sex. We enjoy how this family likes to butt into each other’s business yet, not in a menacing way. Only with true love and concern.
Landon Connor is one of six Connor children left behind when his parents were killed by a drunk driver. He is not only the eldest child he is the eldest child by fifteen minutes. Which he endearing reminds his twin Val as often as possible. They both took over raising the children when tragedy struck. Landon is a widower and billionaire of a software co., Val is the owner & creator of a cosmetics & perfume co., Will is next he is a detective with LAPD.
Now, we have Lori she is a single mother of, Milo. She is an event/wedding planner, Hailey is next she is an investment planner and last but not least is, Jace he is a pro soccer player. Which is something both Landon and Val were well on their way to becoming since they had both received full rides to Harvard for soccer but days before Christmas they came home to bad news then stayed to do their part?
This is a family that doesn’t see a negative, only a way to find solutions even if it means ganging up on the stubborn one. Now, Landon has met his match when he meets Maddie. She too is the eldest and used to caring for her sister. Different circumstances same results. Landon is not used to anyone say no and why so firmly as well as pleasantly. Stubborn, meet stubborn. These treats in her intrigues him.
You see Maddie is the owner, on-site, and hands-on, the working boss of her landscaping design business. So, when Landon arrives at his sister’s spacious home and yards it looks like a bomb went off. Laughingly Val recruits her to spy on Landon to make him relax since he’s not had a vacation in four years. From there their lives become entwined. Two weeks turns into six plus.
A lot can happen when you are determined never to be vulnerable again by falling in love. Even when shored your walls up. Love is just that sneaky. Take time to enjoy this free time-out with this family you will not regret it. Free on Amazon. Follow us at www.1rad-readerreviews.com.
Beide Charaktere schließt man sofort ins Herz.
I just love The Connor clan. Landon was married to his job. He was a widow and didn’t date after losing his wife four years before. That was until he took a much needed vacation to visit his family and meets Maddie, the beautiful blonde working decorating his twin sister landscape.
Ever since his wife died he hadn’t been interested in anyone until he met Maddie. He started swooning her. Maddie tried not to show her feelings for Landon especially since he lived in another city. Maddie had once moved for love and she was seriously not thinking of doing it again.
There chemistry and everything was beautiful until Landon had to leave. Maddie stayed behind because Landon was married to his job and she didn’t know exactly where they stood. Landon finally took his head out of his butt and realized what he needed to do. He went after what he wanted and his siblings were excited.
These two deserved a HEA especially Landon. Can’t wait for more on these siblings.
Interesting romance between the MCs. The dialogues betweeen the characters felt natural and special mention has to be made about the family of the Connors. They are very close and that was beautifully brought out. Interesting read.

~ 5 Anything For You Stars ~
Layla Hagen is off to another great start of another family series!!!
Anything For You is the first book in the Connor Family Series. This is a spin-off from her Bennett Family Series, but the Bennett Series doesn’t have to be read before enjoying this series. The Bennett’s do make some small cameo’s in this story but nothing is spoiled if you start with this series.
I knew I was going to love this story as much as the Bennett’s because Layla Hagen wrote it!! I have been a huge fan of hers since the beginning and I will read anything she writes. I love her writing style and her family saga series are the best.
Anything For You is a fun, romantic and sexy love story. The story flowed perfectly and the pace was spot on. This is the first in her new series and is a standalone novel told in Dual POV. It is a totally entertaining story without having a lot of angst or drama. I had a huge smile on my face throughout the whole story.
In this book we follow Landon and Maddie. Landon is the eldest of the Connor clan. He has always felt responsible for his siblings since his parents passed away when they were younger. He has also been nursing a broken heart since his wife had passed four years earlier. Droning himself in his company and work, he never thought he would find love again. Maddie is a professional landscaper that Landon’s twin sister Val hired to design her landscape at her home. Landon has finally decided he needs a vacation and has decided to go home to visit his siblings. That is when he meets Maddie. Having an instant attraction, can these two find love again?? Will they be able to heal each other’s hearts?? What happens when there connection has a time limit?? Can they finally get their HEA?? Read this book to find out.
I would 100% recommend this story to anyone who loves a romantic and sexy love story. Also if you like stories that revolve around families…then you need to meet the Connors and their cousins The Bennetts.
“It was an exceptionally lovely book. Kind-hearted and simply adorable. And as always, I listened to it as an audiobook. And one of my favorite narrator pairs read this book — Andi and Sebastian.”
Say hello to the Connor family!! I already adore everything about this tight knit family and BONUS they are Bennett cousins! The series kicks off following eldest brother (and twin!) Landon, and his sister Val’s landscape architect Maddie.
Landon & Maddie’s story is a swoony, heart felt romance that you feel deep in your bones! In true Layla fashion the story was very authentic from work/life balance, putting family first, and the effort and communication it takes to maintain friendships/relationships.
We learn Landon is widowed and hasn’t spent much time in the dating world since. He has thrown himself into his work and building up his software company. Maddie moved across country for an ex, and decided to stay and plant her business roots and be near her baby sister. These two had a shared fun sense of humor that was a real page turner. Their story is packed with cute lunch dates, sneaky schemes and passionate dancing!
We were also introduced to the rest of the siblings, but of course Lori’s son Milo stole the show :) can’t wait to find out who earns their love!
Romantic, fun, and sensual. I've become an automatic fan of this author's stories because they're consistently good and satisfying. I can't believe her previous series has ended and I read all of them! All perfect to me :-D
So I felt immensely excited that she'd started a new series of stand-alones about the Connor family, cousins to the Bennets. Here I am, happy and sated with yet another gorgeous romance.
Anything For You kicks off the series with the eldest brother, Landon, intense, responsible, protective. The ideal alpha male with a white knight complex. I love him, Maddie loves him. She's independent, hardworking, and her heart still remembers dreams of a family and a relationship. They both share a past of broken hearts for different reasons and live in different cities, so that sense of impossible lent a bittersweet shortness to their situation.
I loved Maddie's job as a landscape designer, the strong chemistry that burned between the characters, and the sheer fun of the flirty dialogues. This new family is also close and cute. I'm eager to read about Will the detective! On the other hand, I was so impatient for them to become intimate which took some time in order for them to establish a good, vibrant relationship, and it was so worth it! Fireworks indeed :-D
They really fell in love. And I enjoyed it all very much, particularly a certain party, and I thought that what happened to one of the sisters and prompted a twist in the plot was also smart thinking.
This is a beautiful and optimistic romance between two people who learn to trust again, to let go of fear and welcome love and the freedom it brings into their lives. I'm very happy with the first story in this series, it's full of good family dynamics, funny banter, and a romantic epilogue.
